ATWT Recaps Week of January 8, 2007Friday, January 12, 2007 Lily passed on the sugar and the dessert cart and popped a diet pill before she was joined by Lucinda (who coveted the strawberry cake). Lily fretted over the sullen, apathetic Faith, but when Lucinda offered to take Faith on a vacation, Lily flipped. Holden arrived and broke up the bickering to take Lily back to the farm to deal with a water problem. Emily was searching for Daniel when she literally ran into Craig, who warned her not to go into business with Marcus. She refused to tell him Daniel was missing. Craig next confronted Lucinda and threatened her over spiriting away Lucy and Johnny. He blames her for breaking up his family, and vowed she will pay. Emily visited Margo and Tom seeking Daniel. Margo revealed a witness called the police to report a young boy was forced into a car. Emily took off to tell her mother, and ended up running into Craig again. Elsewhere, Holden told Lily it's normal for a teen girl to hate her mother (even if Faith isn't quite a teen yet). "She'll come back to you after you let her go," he said. They kissed. Meanwhile, Tom said something ominous to Margo: "We both know it was him. And we both know what this means." But he didn't tell the audience. Margo saw an Amber alert online. Tom grew increasingly agitated — then was racked by chest pains and fell to the floor. Simon listened as Vienna talked to the authorities on her cell phone. She insisted he was out of town, even as she flirted with him with her legs and bare feet. They reveled over the prospect of Carly being turned over to the Leonian consulate. At the police station, Jack told Carly the Prince wants her transferred, so it's going to happen, because the U.S. is outspoken about the rendition of political prisoners. Simon told Vienna he needs the safe deposit code from Carly. Meanwhile, Carly worried if Leonia has "civilized" justice. "You were right about him," she said of Simon. "He's gonna let me take the fall for this." Still, Carly doesn't regret loving Simon. She'll never forgive herself, however, for ruining their marriage. "We were happy," she whispered as a devastated Jack took her away. Vienna got herself into the consulate by pretending to deliver a sculpture of herself — nude. But Simon was hidden in the crate. Later, Jack turned Carly over to guards inside the consulate. Carly told Jack to take care of the kids, and take care of himself, too. "Jack, I never stopped loving you," she said. "I never stopped loving you," he answered as they kissed. Carly was sent into the very room where Simon's crate was. It was empty, and the guard was knocked out. She saw Simon, and they embraced. "Thank God you came for me," she exulted.
Lily wanted a slice of pie, but settled for a lemon. When Holden left, Lily tried to pop another pill, but she was surprised by Holden's sudden return.
Thursday, January 11, 2007 At Memorial, Barbara pressured Paul to use his magic powers to find Johnny. "For a second there, I thought that you cared about me," Paul cracked, refusing to force visions. When Babs grabbed him, though, he had one anyway: of blood spatter. Gross! Rattled, he insisted to Babs that he saw nothing. She kept harassing Paul, demanding to know what he saw and a doctor hauled her out of the room. Paul replayed his bloody visions as Babs harangued the intern outside. He rushed into the hall just in time to see Barbara fall against a medical cart and send a blood sample flying. Paul flipped out. "What I see are horrible things!" he cried, backing away from Barbara before she could touch him and then bolting. Paul decided to go be alone rather than hurt anyone (oh, angst). At the OPD, Jack and Carly were on Round 2,412 of the Simon debate as Jack reminded Carly of "what we have." At the farm, Simon worked his charm on Vienna. "Unhand me!" she cried, not wanting his fingers to wander. Of course, Simon still had his silver tongue. Meanwhile, Carly and Jack forgot "inside voices" for a bit and then Jack was called away to deal with Sage having a meltdown. Katie then strolled into the holding room. Carly was understandably disbelieving as Katie said, "I feel awful." It was much easier to swallow Katie refusing to apologize for her schemes. They traded barbs and Katie encouraged Carly to "save yourself; get Simon out of your system." Speaking of the avaricious Aussie, he offered Vienna a hidden stash of diamonds in exchange for her help. "You have the access, I have the skills," he purred. Then, Mike banged the door and Vienna contemplated letting Mike tear Simon "limb from limb." When Mike walked into the farmhouse, Vienna covered for Simon — by badmouthing him as he hid under the table. Carly defended Simon to Katie, talking about her devastation after Jack left her. "Never ever did I want to see him hurt," she pointed out. Still bitter about Simon, Katie warned, "If there's no way out, he'll run, just like he ran from me." In order to get rid of him, Vienna thoroughly confused Mike (it's so easy to do) with a spiel about denying him her "temptations." Katie and Carly mused about the futility of being the loves of Simon and Jack's lives and then Katie left with one last warning. At Emma's, Vienna agreed to be "true partners" with Simon and never leave him again. Oops!
Wednesday, January 10, 2007 Barbara freaked out (shocking, isn't it?) when she realized Paul had flown the Memorial coop. "Poisoning a well is minor league for you," Meg was telling him at the farm. He denied spiking the water just to rescue her. Elsewhere, Babs' curiosity was piqued when Susan mentioned Paul's visions (they could make a fortune in Vegas!). Meg refused Paul's excuses and kicked him out. Cue the violins (Literally! That was the music.). Outside, Luke gloated that Meg had booted Paul and Paul was miffed to hear that Luke had called his mommy to pick him up. Paul collapsed during the exchange and Nurse Meg rushed to help. Barbara hit the farm mere minutes later, rising to Paul's defense. Paul told Mommie Dearest to cool it and promised to stop bothering Meg. Back at Memorial, Barbara hovered over Paul in a very Flowers in the Attic kind of way (though they actually discussed the Hardy Boys novels). "Am I going crazy?" he asked. "I'd say in this family, that's a relative term," Babs grinned, before sighing that he's been "blessed." At Java, Luke encouraged Meg to press charges against Paul but she just wanted him out of her life. Meanwhile, Paul wanted to return The Gift but touchy-feely Barbara told him his visions "could help us find Johnny." At the OPD, Carly told Jack to stop being so nice since "you are throwing me in jail." Jack hoped she'd realize Simon isn't worth this. Then, Jessica reminded Carly she's not eligible for bail (being on probation and all) and tried to get her to 'fess up. Still in the Getaway Limo o' Doom, Simon decided he needed to be pretty before rescuing Carly. Henry brought Simon some takeout from Al's but demanded to know Simon's plan before he handed over Simon's new threads. At the station, Carly noted, "Jack's pulling out all the stops," when Gwen arrived. Gwen reminded her about her kids and what she'd miss out in jail. Carly ended up explaining her attraction to Simon and comparing it to Gwen and Will (yeah, she went there!). Gwen reminded Carly of how they'd grown up. Carly pointed out the kids would have Jack. Yeah, but Jack wasn't a mom. Gwen's pleas made Carly sob (and your recapper, too). Too bad Carly was determined to be with Simon no matter what! In the squad room, Jack told Will a story about him and his brother Brad involving brotherly solidarity. "Going to jail isn't living," Gwen warned. Well, Carly was certain Simon wouldn't let that happen. Simon emerged from the limo in a natty suit and then punched out Henry. Later, a cop found bruised Henry but no Simon. Gwen told Carly she loves her and the sisters hugged tearfully. Then Gwen gave Jack the bad news: "She's sticking by Simon." Jack told Carly that losing her isn't an option and that she can't talk him out of loving her. (Aw!) Carly kept being stubborn about Simon. Well, Jack was stubborn, too, and convinced Carly would see the truth about the Aussie someday. Speaking of seeing him...that's exactly what Vienna did at the end of the episode.
Tuesday, January 9, 2007 At the Lakeview, Emily asked Craig to put the past behind them. "I'm going to get my revenge and I'm just going to walk away," Craig assured, creepily. Emily told him he was losing his touch, broadcasting his evil intentions beforehand. Fine, forget the threats, Craig was actually dissolving their partnership entirely. He introduced Emily to Mr. Tull, who wanted to buy out her half of The Intruder and shut down it down. "Reap. Sow," crowed Craig. Emily refused to sign over the paper, standing firm. Shady Mr. Tull bristled. "Convince her," he warned Craig, who urged Emily to take the offer or she'd lose a lot more than her paper. Emily wasn't havin' that, though. She said Craig could "shove it." Paul dreamed of something burning (it looked like a bed; how very Farrah Fawcett!) while Emily and Meg talked about Craig. "He told me he wants to be a better man," said Meg. "You know what that means: update your will and check your brakes," snarked Em. Psychic Paul demanded Susan call Meg about the Snyder well water. Susan told him he was hallucinating. The minute she left, Paul ripped out his IV and went to play hero. Meg and Emily kept chatting (we learned Dusty's in Montega looking for Lucy and Johnny) and Emily nixed a glass of well water, preferring bottled. Em's paranoia ratcheted up when Craig called her to a meeting at the Lakeview. Equally paranoid, but no longer in a back-less hospital gown, Paul poked around the well on the farm. Then, he bolted into the kitchen and knocked a glass out of Meg's hand. Overtaxed and wheezing, he admitted he had another vision. Meg showed great restraint, not telling him he's a French fry short of a Happy Meal, and agreed to check the water. Sure enough, it was contaminated. Naturally, this made her all warm and fuzzy. She tucked a flannel blankie around Paul. Lucky for her (but not Paul), Luke burst in before her ex could kiss her. He pulled his aunt aside, telling her that he'd seen Paul leaning into the well. Fuzzies gone, Meg confronted Paul and accused him of poisoning the water.
Monday, January 8, 2007 At the Lakeview, Katie kept Henry from going up to his room and copped to Carly being arrested. At the farm, a fabulously dressed Vienna (okay, does she ever not look fab?) wasn't feelin' "The Simple Life," so Mike offered to chase away her blues by taking her out. Aw! Henry and Katie argued furiously about the whole Carly/Simon snafu and Henry wondered if he was finally seeing the real Katie. Real or fake, she regretted her witch hunt after seeing Jack lead Carly out in cuffs. Then she got all twitchy because Mike and Vienna arrived for dinner. Vienna advised Mike to buy Katie a drink (because Katie "looks like hell") and went to powder her nose. Mike was understandably un-thrilled to learn Jack arrested Carly. "I have no one to blame but myself," Katie sighed. (Duh!) Mike wasn't quite buying Katie's litany of explanations. "I want what I had with you," she sighed, adding, "I really don't believe that you want to divorce me," and begging him to give them a chance. Vienna chose this vulnerable moment to return and, suffice it to say, Mike had some stuff to mull over. Jack finished Mirandizing Carly and she asked him to think about the kids. He boggled at her (rightfully so), whipping out the cuffs — and not for romantic purposes. Carly assured Jack that Henry was a bystander and she didn't know Simon's whereabouts. "What about those kids did you want me to think about?" Jack demanded. Carly refused to narc so Jack led his ex out in cuffs. Meanwhile, in Henry's limo, he gave Simon the bad news. "Get out of Oakdale now!" he advised. Outside the house in Milltown, Jack removed Carly's cuffs so she could tell the kids about her impending vacation at Sing Sing. No dummy, Parker asked Mom what she'd done now. In the car, Henry told a frantic Simon that if he charged in and did the "far, far better thing" (bonus points for the Dickens reference!) Carly and Simon's charges would get worse. Carly admitted she's going to jail for trying to "help someone." Still no dummy, Parker knew it was Simon and jewel-related and he got all snarky. Carly tried to make it easier for JJ and Sage to understand while Parker kept glowering. Carly turned to her oldest and promised she'd make it up to him (making the recapper sniffle). Back in the limo, Simon refused to leave town without Carly. Parker stayed stoic and unyielding throughout the teary goodbye hugs and then Carly bolted outside. When Jack emerged, she extended her wrists, urging him to clap her in irons. Jack led her away in dramatic slo-mo.
