ATWT Recaps Week of June 25, 2007Friday, June 29, 2007 At OAKDALE NOW, Maddie helped Luke hang a banner for Katie and Brad's cocktail party. Poor Luke then got to hear that Noah and Maddie were going to Branson together! Maddie and Noah suggest he come, too. They could all share a room and everything. "It sounds like fun, but count me out," Luke sighed. Alone, Maddie called Luke on his immediate no and wondered if she was missing something. "Does this have something to do with Noah?" Luke fled instead of answering.
The OPD investigated Will's crash on Route 33 while Gwen told Will he'd been in a car accident. In turn, he informed Gwen he'd been run off the road. Meanwhile, Lily ran into a skittish Jade at the farm and updated her on Meg's situation. Cleo lurked outside Will's hospital room. Of course, Will and Gwen waved lurky Cleo and a bag of goodies in. Despite her offering to help Will dress, she didn't set off their freak alarm at all. Cleo
suggested to Gwen that Jade ran down Will, and Jade's suspicious behavior with Lily certainly seemed to confirm it. Lily revealed she knew Jade hadn't registered for classes at Oakdale U. Lily was disappointed in Jade for
lying. "Every time I tell the truth, things get worse," she pointed out. When Will was all dressed (on his own, thank you) Gwen confronted Will about Jade threatening him. Jade assured Lily this was just a "bumpy patch," and Lily
couldn't help her. Dallas questioned Will and showed them something they'd
found by the car: Jade's 'J' necklace (the one Cleo stole). Lily had to take a call from Holden, so Luke dropped by to tell Jade that he hoped Noah and Maddie's Branson trip would give him a chance to get over the boy. Rattled Jade wasn't listening. "You totally tuned me out," Luke accused. As the cousins argued, Dallas arrived on official business. Will was rarin' to go to the OPD and get this thing solved. Alone, Cleo prayed Jade would get caught. Jade asked Luke to keep mum to his mum as she accompanied Dallas to the station. There, Jade was shocked to see Will all banged up. With Noah, Maddie, Gwen, and Cleo there, too, Jade was officially accused of running
Will down. "It was a misunderstanding!" Jade cried, before turning on Cleo
and accusing her of setting her up.
Thursday, June 28, 2007 Post bike-ride, Aaron and Alison enjoyed some ice cream in Old Town and Ali gave Aaron grief for a near miss with a cow pasture. They reminisced about his halcyon days as a Snyder farm boy. "You just liked sneaking in there so you could make out with Lucy," Ali surmised about his love of the barn. Aaron couldn't disagree and the duo adorably bantered about the sore subject of Lucy, the philosophy of ice cream and having a good time tonight. Gwen worked the desk at the Lakeview and Noah dropped off some press clippings. He filled Gwen in on the earlier Jade/Cleo shenanigans at Chez Munson. Meanwhile, an unconscious Will slumped in his crashed car and a shadowed figure stroked his cheek. As worried Gwen dialed her hubby, the figure bolted and Will groggily awoke. Randomly, Dusty happened by (as one does). He urged his baby brother-in-law to stay with him, called 911, and then answered Will's phone to tell Gwen what happened. Gwen rushed out to Route 33 ASAP. Dusty offered bloody Will "roadside assistance" until the missus arrived. In British Columbia, Craig tried to warm a chilled Meg up with some tea and sympathy. "What did you put in it this time?" she numbly wondered. Big bro Holden showed up to comfort Meg and get the whole story. She cautioned him against Barbara finding out. Then, Holden and Craig clashed over Lucinda's version of events. "I love her," Craig told Holden of Meg. Holden blasted Craig for using Meg's grief over Paul to manipulate her. The argument ratcheted up a notch and the "outside voices" lured Meg in to refute Holden's accusation that Craig offed Paul. "All I know is whatever happened, it's not Craig's fault," she explained, touched that Craig was funding the search. As Holden boggled, she told him about her guilt over her scheme and Craig pointed out that nothing was in this for him now except "humiliation." Outside, the coast guard confided to Holden that it could take several weeks to find Paul's "remains." When he urged Meg to come home with him, she refused. "Don't try to make me abandon him." Tearful Meg continued to beat herself up and Holden continued to plead with her. Craig suggested his bro-in-law be "the one to go." Meg echoed this sentiment. Worried Holden offered his sister some parting advice and then left her alone with Craig.
Wednesday, June 27, 2007 In British Columbia, Lucinda fingered Craig as Paul's killer and he went ballistic. When they turned to Meg to pick sides, she waffled. Lucinda played Iago, whispering in her ear while Craig pleaded with her to say what she saw. "Craig's right. He did try to hold onto Paul's hand, but Paul wouldn't accept his help," Meg admitted. Craig and the cop went to continue the search and a furious Lucinda wondered if Meg had lost her mind. Meg countered, "I told the truth." She explained she was sick of lying and that Paul had paid the price for her ruse. Craig returned with the captain of the Canadian coast guard, who showed Meg the locket they'd retrieved. Meg sobbed, telling Craig she'd given that locket to Paul before the wedding. But then she jumped up, certain Paul could've survived. The coast guard said they didn't have the manpower to keep searching. Tearful Meg turned to Lucinda, who refused to help, and then she gave Craig her sad face. Of course he agreed to keep funding the search! When her phone rang, Meg thought it was Paul, but it was Holden. Overcome, she handed it to Lucinda and then had to come clean to Craig about what she'd promised Paul. Instead of getting angry, Craig swore to find Paul, adding, "I won't let you down." Then, Lucinda tried to get manic Meg to rest, gently suggesting she sign the company over. Naturally, Meg wasn't in the mood. "I'm a pragmatic, forceful person," Lucinda admitted, finally just saying, "Let's just settle this!" As Craig watched from the shadows, Meg ripped up the WorldWide papers and spat, "Get out!" Lucinda and Craig traded threats before she complied. In the end, Craig was sittin' mighty pretty. Noah tried to calm everyone at Chez Munson down, but Cleo commenced caterwauling about Jade being mean. Jade reiterated to Will that Cleo was insanely obsessed with him and "trying to wreck things for you and Gwen." Jade began turning over couch cushions looking for Cleo's Secret Diary as Will dialed the phone. She asked him not to make the call, warned him again that he and Gwen were in danger, and slammed out. Cleo tried to mask her glee as Will decided to get a restraining order against Jade. Noah had come by for Gwen's press clippings so Cleo helpfully handed over her own stalker file and ushered him out. Alone, she grabbed her diary and went to stop Jade her own way. Out on the road, Will left Gwen a message and found himself being seriously tailgated. If you guessed the tailgating turned into him being run off the road, you'd be right.
Tuesday, June 26, 2007 At Al's, Maddie told Will that Casey wasn't coming home after prison. "He's an idiot," Will murmured as Noah came in. Will was then shocked to hear that Cleo would be Gwen's assistant in Branson. "It's going to be a disaster!" Kooky Cleo came home to Chez Munson and found her diary missing. "Looking for this?" Jade wondered, holding it up. Noah, Maddie, and Will discussed the pressures Cleo would be facing. "She's a little on the emotional side," Maddie hedged (ya think?). Jade mockingly read salient portions of Cleo's Secret Diary aloud. If Cleo didn't get on the first bus outta town, Jade would hand over the diary to "W" and G." Cleo pretended to acquiesce but then attacked Jade, beating on her and biting. Will walked in on a good old-fashioned, hair-pulling catfight. Jade demanded he read the diary, but Cleo managed to hide it and deny it exists. Back at Al's, Maddie teased Noah for being so polite. He 'fessed up to having little in common with his military-minded father. At the Munsons, Will asked Cleo where her diary was. Cleo insisted it was in her locker at the Lakeview. Jade tried to convince Will of Cleo's obsession and, well, he had to consider the source. When he threatened to have Jade arrested for breaking and entering, she gasped, "Don't you dare...I'll kill you," which didn't help her case. On the cliff, as Craig struggled, Paul gasped, "It's over. It's all over," and slipped from his hands. The distant splash was layered with Craig's horrified expression and Meg's grief. Meg rushed to the edge screaming for Paul, and Craig urged her back. As the sirens approached, Craig told her to calm down and go talk to the cops while he looked for Paul. He hastily chucked the gun into the water as the Canadian police arrived and then spun a story about Paul being unhinged. When the officer wondered if Paul met with foul play, Craig asked him to go ask Meg and Lucinda for corroboration. Nearby, Lucinda tried to convince Meg that Craig wanted Paul dead. "I didn't kill Paul. I tried to save him," Craig disagreed. Bordering on sincere, he assured Meg he'd tried to hold on. "I never wanted this to happen," he sighed. As Meg fixed binoculars on the lake, Craig rushed into the house and got rid of the evidence showing he had lured Paul out there. Lucinda encouraged Meg to finger Craig as Paul's killer. Meg was unsettled about the search taking too long and the officer told her it didn't look good. Later, Lucinda claimed she saw Craig push Paul off the cliff.
Monday, June 25, 2007 Cleo sang off-key about going to Branson and Gwen helped her look for an outfit that would make her look "hot." (Good luck with that.) A visiting Maddie burst into tears, revealing Casey wasn't returning to Oakdale after prison. "He says that he's no good for me," she explained. "I think you should forget about the convict!" Cleo advised. Gwen gently suggested the interloper give them some time alone. Poor red-eyed Maddie totally looked dumped as Gwen tried to comfort her. They quickly changed the subject to Branson, Gwen's CD, and feeling horrible for burying Adam alive. Gwen suggested Maddie forget her woes by coming to Branson, too. Cleo was NOT happy to overhear the invite or Maddie's acceptance of it. At Al's, cue another reading of Cleo's Secret Diary, complete with Ws, Gs, and Ms. Jade watched from the counter and then followed the Single White Fruitcake. At OAKDALE NOW, Noah was glad to hear Maddie was headed to Branson. He suggested she do a video diary for Casey. Cue Maddie revealing her new Casey-less status. Gwen suggested Noah and Maddie join her and Will for dinner. (How couple-y. Paging Luke!) As Cleo muttered about Gwen being sorry for this slight, Gwen called to invite her to dinner and reassure her that she wasn't uninvited from Branson. When Cleo giddily bolted out the door, Jade let herself in. She cracked open Cleo's Secret Diary and read all those alphabetical, wacky plans. Lucinda rushed into the honeymoon cottage and found Meg passed out. Outside, amidst the pretty foliage and natural daylight, Craig held Paul at gunpoint. "You are never gonna see my wife again," he warned. Paul turned to go after Meg and Craig fired! Lucinda roused Meg and got the groggy update on what happened. On the edge of a bridge, Paul cradled his wounded arm and traded insults with Craig about Jennifer, Rosanna and Meg. Craig wanted a Paul-free life. Inside, Lucinda tried to discern what Meg did with the WorldWide contract. Craig touted the "sweet spot" at the back of Meg's neck and Paul refused to believe that Meg would sleep with him. "My Meg is a very passionate woman," Craig sighed. Woozy Meg tried to call Paul and saw that Craig had sent Paul a text from her phone. She rose and promptly passed out again. On the cliff, all the mentions of Meg and beds led to fisticuffs (just like JJ and Parker). Craig managed to toss Paul off him...and over the edge of the cliff. Struggling to hang on, Paul kept insisting Meg would never be Craig's wife. Craig was definitely tempted to kick Paul over the ledge but he ended up reaching down to help, growling, "I'd rather see you alive and miserable than dead." Meg and Lucinda approached and Meg cried out, "No!"
