B&B Recaps Week of January 22, 2007

Friday, January 26, 2007
While he was temporarily shirtless, Nick's assistant noted his St. Christopher medal, and Nick had a romantic flashback of Brooke. He soon snapped out of it and gave his mom an update. He'd talked to all the big distributors, except Harvey Golden. "He's one of the most influential men in fashion," Jackie said of the mysterious and elusive man. She warned that Nick's plan to consolidate everyone under Jackie M could be pricey. Then, to their surprise, Rick showed up. Once Nick asked his mom to leave and then a took a seat behind his desk, Rick made it clear he bore no hard feelings over being fired. "If I was in your position, I would have done the same thing," he said. Then he handed over a list of "valuable international employees" who should and could be trusted. Nick was amused, but Rick topped that by revealing his distrust for Stephanie and Ridge and his belief that Brooke belonged with him. Nick was called to a meeting, so Rick excused himself, but not before saying, "I know you love your mother and you would do anything for her. I feel the same way about my mother."

Bridget took notes as her father and Felicia touched up a gown that Phoebe was modeling. Brooke and Ridge, meanwhile, did some canoodling. When Brooke asked if Ridge had clocked in early to avoid her son, he revealed he'd overheard Rick's tirade against him the night before. "He'd rather you were still married to Nick," Ridge surmised. Brooke hoped Rick just needed time, but Ridge decided he had to prove himself to Rick just as he had Brooke. The chat ended when Phoebe and the design crew joined them. Rick stopped in soon after and stumbled over his now-grown-up stepsister. He was even more surprised when he heard the group had a full collection ready, instead of just a few great pieces to distinguish themselves from Forrester Creations. He was concerned Ridge and the others weren't taking the threat of Nick seriously. A confident Eric said they could get the entire new line out in two weeks. An annoyed Rick watched as Ridge cooed to Brooke about having their wedding after.

Storm prepped Donna for her public appearance, ordering her to stay businesslike and not give into talk about Forrester Originals or her sister. He was worried a libel suit would break the company, "with all the moves Nick is making." That piqued Donna's interest! He revealed that Nick was leaving a paper trail that proved he was into some kind of expansion. Donna didn't know what Nick was up to, but she trusted him. Storm wasn't so sure. Then they went to the big meeting with Nick and Jackie, where Hamilton's counter offer was too steep. Nick wasn't worried. Storm gave the contract his legal okay, but before signing, Nick asked if Hamilton had a contract with FO. "Our word and handshake were all Eric Forrester ever needed," Hamilton said and asked Nick to honor the newest deal. Nick made it clear he didn't plan to and signed on the dotted line. When Hamilton left, Jackie fretted over the amount of money Nick was spending, but nothing could shake him. He even smiled over the release about FO's new line. "Two weeks and the Forresters will be wiped out of the fashion business," he plotted.

Then actor John McCook (Eric) introduced a wonderful montage honoring the late Darlene Conley (Sally), saying, "On January 14, 2007, Darlene Conley, our beloved Sally Spectra, passed away. It's almost impossible to convey to you how loved and respected she was here at our studio and we know how much all of you will miss her. Darlene brought her talent and professionalism to our show for 19 years, but it was her heart and humor that made Sally such an extraordinary character. We mourn her passing."

Bridget nailed Taylor for being caught in Nick's arms and asked Nick if he'd become "so obsessed with revenge that you'll cross any line?" Taylor wondered if she was overreacting due to jealousy, and Bridget realized she had wanted her ex-husband back, but tearfully added, "That man doesn't exist anymore." She concluded that she couldn't believe either of them was cruel enough to hurt Alexandria and Thorne by carrying on together. Nick thanked her, honestly, for the reality check, but Bridget was the one who was thankful, because now she could move on from him. She left, and Nick and Taylor talked it out. They agreed not to proceed with their friendship/flirtation. "Timing is everything," Nick said after giving her much praise. He asked her to be sure she wanted Thorne and she was, but she also couldn't deny the feelings she had for Nick. "I'll always cherish our friendship," she told him with moist eyes and Nick hoped Thorne "knows what he's got." Then they embraced.

Pam was horrified by Jackie's attempt to seduce Eric, but he just asked for a moment alone with Jackie. His ex scoffed at "sanctimonious" Pam's nerve and then moved in for a kiss. Unfortunately, Pam returned to interrupt that kiss before it started. After Jackie left, Pam apologized. She was now horrified by her own behavior, but Eric appreciated her concern. He told her he didn't know what would come of him and Stephanie, but called his time with Pam a "tonic." He then praised her for the sacrifice she'd made in caring for her mother all those years, not to mention her lack of resentment over doing it alone. "You will always have a place in this family," he said and left her with a kiss on the cheek that seemed to mean more to her than it should.

Rick Forrester (now played by Kyle Lowder) returned home to find Brooke, Ridge and the kids hanging out. Once the kids were put down, Brooke empathized with Rick's having to pick up his life and leave Paris, where he been working for Forrester International. Ridge blamed Nick for everything, but Rick pointed the finger at Ridge and Stephanie for crossing the line by exposing Jackie's past. Brooke understood her son's position, but insisted all they could do at this point was focus on their new business. Enter Bridget, who was thrilled to see her brother but didn't hang around. Mother and son were left alone to catch up. Rick wondered how she expected this run with Ridge to work, considering their past, and asked what happened to Nick. The more she talked about loving Ridge and her commitment to him, the more frustrated Rick became. "Ridge doesn't change," he insisted, adding that Stephanie doesn't either. "You've got this blade just hanging over your head and it's going to fall. It always falls with you and Ridge," he fretted and later concluded, "If I see it happen, Ridge is going to have to answer to me." That made Brooke smile, but eavesdropping Ridge SURE didn't like it!

On his chartered flight, Nick tempted Arthur with a staggering offer to buy his company. Arthur asked for 24-48 hours to consider it and give Nick an answer. Jackie eavesdropped on Pam and Eric's conversation. Pam jokingly confronted Eric about his continued anger toward Stephanie. While Eric went to work on some designs and Pam went to make him some French toast, Jackie snuck into the house and went upstairs. Inside Eric's bathroom, she drew a bubble bath and poured herself some champagne, lit some candles and prepared to seduce him. Eric was surprised when he found Jackie in the tub, as Jackie seemed to lure him in. After having a drink, Jackie asked Eric to join her in the bubble bath. Eric politely resisted her advances, reminding Jackie that he's still a married man. Eric got a work call, which required him to return to work, despite Jackie's best efforts at seducing him. "I'm going to walk away while I still can," whispered Eric. "I'll be here waiting," Jackie cooed. Jackie welcomed Eric back when she heard the door open. Instead it was Pam, who angrily called Jackie a tramp. Pam drained the tub. "You had me pegged as a pushover. Not always!" Pam declared as she threw a towel onto Jackie and sent her packing.

At Forrester Originals, Bridget caught up with Thorne about things with Alexandria and Taylor. Thorne told Bridget that Ridge believes Nick has set his sights on Taylor. Bridget seemed perplexed by the idea, but felt that Nick wasn't interested in Taylor in that way. Thorne agreed. Meanwhile, Phoebe asked Taylor if anything is going on between Taylor and Nick. Taylor deflected. Phoebe persisted, wanting to know if she was still treating Nick officially as a patient. Taylor objected to Phoebe's tone. Phoebe apologized, but said she felt now was a critical time for the Forrester family to pull together. Taylor insisted that she is friends with Nick, but ONLY friends. Just then Nick arrived on her doorstep. Phoebe didn't seem too pleased, and quietly excused herself. Nick returned Taylor’s sunglasses that she left at Chuck's, and gave her the wedding gift that Ridge broke: a framed photo of her, Thorne and Aly. Taylor asked Nick if this photo was a gesture of his support even if he disagreed with her choices. Nick said he respected the decision she's made, but offered to toss her a "life preserver" if she ever finds herself needing one, and they gave each other a friendly hug. Bridget arrived to talk to Taylor and caught Nick and Taylor mid-embrace. "How long has this been going on?!" Bridget asked angrily. Nick and Taylor denied that anything romantic was going on between them. "I think you may be jumping to conclusions here," Nick chided. But Bridget was having none of it, and reminded the two of them that Taylor is marrying Thorne. "What the hell has happened to you?!" Bridget angrily asked Taylor, after throwing Darla's death in her face.

The Forresters were busy putting the finishing touches on their new line. They met with Arthur, a key distributor, who announced his excitement for carrying their new line. After their meeting Brooke and Ridge got cozy in their offices as they reveled in their new professional and personal "ventures." Ridge proposed that they "christen" their new office as she unbuttoned his shirt.

Taylor politely rebuffed Nick's advances, as he stepped up the pressure on her. Nick backpedaled a bit and shifted tactics to the soft sell. He took her out to lunch and charmed her over a bucket of wings. Taylor tried to continue her "therapy" with Nick but he was having none of it. Instead, Nick insisted they talk about her. Taylor told Nick a bit about her childhood and upbringing. Nick seemed more and more smitten with Taylor as their conversation unfolded. Taylor impressed Nick when she was able to eat hot wings without any problem. Their "date" was interrupted by a call from Arthur. Nick managed to persuade him to meet at the airport briefly before he left town. Nick offered Arthur a chartered flight home. Arthur told Nick he wasn't interested in carrying Forrester Creations since he just agreed to carry Forrester Originals, and didn't want to have any brand confusion. Nick said he wasn't interested in having Arthur distribute his company's line of clothing — he was interested in buying Arthur's chain of boutiques. Surprised, Arthur said they're not for sale. A confident Nick declared that everything is up for sale, at the right price, and handed Arthur a written offer to buy his company.

When Taylor returned home Phoebe grilled her on why she's been spending time with Nick if she's no longer treating him. As Taylor stonewalled, Phoebe asked her mother point blank if she has a thing for Nick.

Taylor and Lauren Fenmore looked on as Brooke, Eric, Ridge and Felicia glowed over their front-page success as the "hottest new couture house in the country." When Bridget and Phoebe arrived, Eric hired Phoebe as a model and asked Bridget to look at some designs. He wanted the whole family involved in this new biz. When Lauren asked how they would distinguish Forrester Originals from Forrester Creations, Ridge said quality would set them apart. Before leaving, Lauren warned they shouldn't underestimate their competition. Eric then went on to outline the future of their company. "Every gown, an original. An absolute work of art," he previewed. When Ridge snarled over taking Forrester Creations down, Taylor was taken aback by his attitude, but Bridget shrugged, "Nick's never been afraid of a fight." The group dispersed and Ridge asked Thorne to stay back to discuss the gift Nick gave Taylor. Thorne wasn't worried, but Ridge was. He wondered how Nick planned to beat them, since it wasn't through fashion, and whether Nick was trying to make Taylor his secret weapon. When a confident Eric returned, he told Ridge fashion was about nothing but design experience and skill, which Nick lacked.

Ridge was right, however. At Jackie M, Nick was approaching the battle from another angle altogether. He questioned his mom about her distribution contracts and when she explained there were five major distributors for couture, his eyes lit up. "Then that's it. We control those companies, we control the entire industry," he said. Enter Lauren Fenmore, who told Jackie, "Eric and Ridge are one of the few safe bets in this business." Jackie responded by asking her to take a gamble on them, but Lauren feared they needed a "more dynamic designer." When talk turned to Baby Fen, Jackie offended the new mom by asking if she planned to stay in the biz. Jackie backpedaled and Lauren eventually promised to give them a chance by sending her buyer to "sit in the front row at the next show." After Lauren left, Jackie asked why Nick didn't he make the pitch to buy her out. He explained that Lauren was too close to the Forresters. "I want them to sink as much capital as they can into this new collection...until they find out they got no place to sell it." When Taylor stopped in, a self-deprecating Nick downplayed the future of Forrester Creations. She warned that he'd "lit a fire under the Forresters and they're determined to crush" him. Nick laughed it off and she asked what tricks he had up his sleeve. Nick got cocky and things got flirtatious very quickly. He then pulled her into the back room to warn her that this fight would get ugly. She reminded him he was talking about her fiancé. "There's only going to be one man standing at the end of this, pretty lady," he said as he caressed her. "And that is going to be me."
