Rick tried returning Phoebe's call and left an apologetic voice mail for her on her cell. When his phone rang back he assumed it was Phoebe, but it was Brooke, who was worried about Rick's mindset. Rick insisted he didn't shoot Grant Chambers, and refused to say he did just to help Ridge beat the rap for Shane's death. Bridget returned home and the two argued over whether the hospital was trying to whitewash the mixed-up egg scandal. Dr. Karen called Bridget to check on her and make sure she was okay. She offered Bridget more time off, but Bridget told her she'd be back at work tomorrow. Rick then told Bridget how everyone's telling him that he shot Grant Chambers. An enraged Rick told Bridget he'd never forgive Ridge for getting Taylor and Brooke to believe it. Rick sighed that only Phoebe believes in him any more. Rick confided in Bridget that he hooked up with Ashley while he was broken up with Phoebe. Bridget warned Rick that Phoebe is so young and sensitive that telling her the truth might do more harm than good. An appreciative Rick thanked his sister for her advice and ran off to find Phoebe.

Nick paid Brooke a visit to deliver the papers for her to sign to join Forrester Creations. Taylor intervened and told Nick that Brooke has other things on her mind right now. Taylor encouraged Brooke to tell Nick what was going on, so Brooke recapped the Grant Chambers dilemma. Nick asked Brooke what she wanted: did she want Ridge out of jail at the possible expense of her son going there instead? Brooke then thanked Taylor for helping Rick and extended an olive branch to her rival, asking her if they could put their past mistrust and differences behind them. Phoebe waited for Ashley in her lab, and recalled the voice message she heard on Rick's cell. When Ashley arrived Phoebe confided her fears that Rick is seeing someone else. Ashley tried to reassure her that Rick loves her. Phoebe told Ashley she has proof, and asked her if she had any idea who it might be. Ashley danced around Phoebe's questions and comments, as Phoebe wondered aloud if he's seeing another woman. Just then Rick entered. Phoebe expressed her annoyance at Rick when he tried to apologize for not returning her calls. Phoebe looked Rick in the eye: "I need you to be honest with me. Is there someone else?" Rick's eyes answered her question. "Who is she?!" Phoebe squealed.

When Dr. Karen was paged and left the hospital lab, one of the lab techs, Carl, called Bridget at home. "I have some information that may interest you," regarding the eggs used with Taylor. "I know what really happened that day," he declared.

In Taylor's office, Rick was in angry denial about shooting Grant just as Brooke was leaving a frantic cell phone message for Taylor, telling her that Ridge told Brooke everything about Grant Chambers, and then begging Taylor to "be careful with my son." Rick insisted to Taylor that it was Ridge who shot Grant, and then went one step further, deciding it was Stephanie's idea to shift the blame onto Rick. "If I shot somebody, I would remember," he insisted, though he was just a boy when it happened. Taylor urged him to stay and talk, but Rick stormed out. Exasperated, Taylor called Brooke to complain it wasn't how she wanted the news of Rick's role in the shooting to come out. She noted Rick was in "complete denial," and was now convinced the news was merely one of Stephanie's conspiracies. Taylor warned, "He may shut down for good. I really thought I had a chance to work with him." Now she's not sure "he'll ever access" the repressed memory.

Just as Brooke tried to phone Rick, he snuck up behind her — holding a small-caliber gun. A startled Brooke asked him where he got the weapon, saying Stephanie had locked it up in the safe. Rick snidely pointed out that was a good place for it: "You wouldn't want this to fall in the hands of a child...accidents can happen." Brooke related that she knew what Ridge told him, and calmly told him to put the gun down, asking what he planned to do with the weapon and denying it made her nervous. Rick calmly told Brooke he'd never even seen a gun up close and sternly added: "I didn't shoot Grant Chambers...it's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard." Brooke reminded Rick that he once despised Grant, but Rick denied that he ever became violent. Rick told her he didn't want Phoebe's father to go to jail, but insisted the "lies have got to stop." As Brooke started to cry, she confessed that it wasn't a lie. Ridge didn't shoot Grant; he only said he did to "cover up and protect you. That is the truth." Rick looked at her aghast. Despite her tearful revelation, Rick snarled that he didn't believe her. She desperately tried to explain Rick was "full of rage" when he was a boy, blaming herself for having the gun around the house. Rick stonily disagreed, telling Brooke she shouldn't believe Ridge's assertion either. She continued, however, telling him a private investigator put the pieces together years ago, and that they even found his golf tee at the shooting scene. She reiterated that Grant and Ridge were only trying to protect Rick, so Ridge pleaded guilty and got off on probation "just so you wouldn't find out what you had done." Ricks doubted the story, saying it has too convenient for it to come out as Ridge is fighting to get out of jail. Brooke pleaded with her son: Ridge once helped him, now he must help Ridge. Rick pondered the proposal for a fleeting moment, then icily declared: "No, no. Ridge has got you so brainwashed." He told her he couldn't believe she would believe Ridge over her own son, and again denied he shot Grant. Brooke looked devastated, her face wet with tears.

Constantine continued to flatter Phoebe, telling her she's the girl "every man dreams of," and that she inspires him. He told her he'd make the whole world know just how great she is, but that it would take a big commitment on her part to be a star, advising her "it's all-consuming." Phoebe pressed him on how Rick would fit in those plans, confessing her love for him. Constantine began to plant a seed of doubt about Rick's loyalty to her. He "isn't as committed as you think he is," he suggested. Phoebe countered that things were fine between them, but Constantine goaded her about how Rick hadn't returned her recent calls. "Maybe he's trying to tell you something," he told her. Phoebe angrily responded that Constantine is assuming something is wrong between them. She called Rick, who brusquely cut her off because he was in the middle of his emotional discussion with Brooke. Phoebe defended Rick's behavior to a smug-looking Constantine, telling him she only "caught him at a bad time." Constantine kept after Phoebe about Rick's lack of attention. "He's not deserving of all this devotion," he told her, "reluctantly" confessing that he had recorded a message left on Rick's PDA that he'd forgotten. He said he wanted to show her Rick Forrester isn't the guy she thinks he is. The message was from a seductive-sounding woman who didn't leave her name. "About last night...call me. Au revoir," the breathy message said. Constantine whispered consolingly into Phoebe's ear: "I'm so, so sorry sweetheart." Phoebe appeared desperate and tearful.

At her office, Taylor discussed Ridge's case with Brooke and Christine. She reminded Brooke of the dangers of forcing Rick to remember something as horrific as shooting Grant Chambers. Worried about re-traumatizing her son, Brooke asked Christine if there was some other way they could prevent the Grant Chambers shooting from entering into Ridge’s trial for Shane’s death. Christine said there was no other way, and insisted that Rick was the key to Ridge’s whole defense.

In jail, Ridge told Rick to talk to Taylor after he told him that Rick shot Grant Chambers. Rick became incensed at the idea that Ridge would be so desperate as to try to pin the shooting on him. The two exchanged heated words, as Ridge tried to defuse things by not provoking Rick any further. After admonishing Ridge, an indignant Rick stormed out. Next, Ridge was visited by Lt. Baker, who admonished Ridge for throwing away his freedom. Ridge insisted he was innocent. Christine and Brooke then visited him and updated him on how the case is going. A defeated Ridge told Christine to just send them a bill because there’s nothing anyone can do for him. Ridge told Brooke and Christine that he informed Rick that Rick shot Grant. Brooke flipped out that Ridge told Rick such a traumatizing thing, while Christine pondered how this reveal would affect their legal strategy.

Rick then visited Taylor at her request. Rick told Taylor that Ridge had informed him that he (Rick) shot Grant Chambers. A disbelieving Rick scoffed at Ridge’s accusation and was angry that Ridge would be so slick and desperate to try to blame him for Grant’s shooting as a ploy to get out of his jam with Shane’s death. Taylor tried to gently broach the subject, but Rick got defensive and defiant, until finally he inferred what Taylor was preparing to tell him.

Constantine trashed Rick to Phoebe. “I definitely have to wonder what you see in him,” Constantine huffed. Phoebe insisted to Constantine that Rick has a pure heart. Constantine tried to plant seeds of doubt in Phoebe’s head by questioning Rick’s whereabouts the other night. Constantine told Phoebe how special she was, and told her he wanted to show her how. He took her into his recording booth and played a song he wrote about her. Cue an extended music video of Constantine and Phoebe frolicking about LA. At the end of the video/fantasy sequence, a wide-eyed Phoebe asked, “Is that how you see me?!” “Yes,” whispered Constantine. “You’re going to be a big star,” promised Constantine. “Pretty soon the whole world’s gonna know. We’re going to do some great things together. I have no doubt in my mind.” With that, the two hugged.

A nervous Taylor and an impatient Nick waited for Bridget to blurt out whatever it is she had to tell them about their baby. "I made a mistake," a tearful Bridget previewed. Her confession was interrupted by Dr. Karen, who reprimanded Bridget and ordered her not to go through with her mea culpa. She accused Bridget of wanting to undermine Nick's happiness by confessing to something that might not even be true. Bridget insisted she harbors no hidden agenda. While waiting for Bridget to return, Taylor told Nick that she thinks she knows what's going on with Bridget and asked Nick to speak to her privately. When Bridget returned Nick excused himself and Taylor apologized to Bridget for putting her in an awkward position by asking her to handle her case given Bridget's loss of Nicole. Taylor offered to get a new doctor, but Bridget said she'd prefer to see Taylor's pregnancy through. Taylor said she was glad Bridget felt that way. Bridget then told Dr. Karen she resolved things with Taylor without revealing anything. A pleased Dr. Karen took Bridget to meet the hospital's chief of staff. The chief of staff insisted that the records were accurate and that Bridget was merely second guessing herself. When Bridget asked if the records could be wrong, the chief of staff implied that Bridget needs to join the hospital's powers in turning a blind eye to the truth and sticking to the official records — or else.

Later, Ridge's new lawyer Christine interviewed Taylor about her professional opinion of Shane. Christine thanked Taylor for her efforts. Christine said that unless they can show how the Chambers shooting affected Ridge's reasoning then they have an uphill battle. Taylor conceded it will be difficult for her to get Rick to remember the truth of what happened. Taylor said ideally the process needs to begin in stages. An impatient Stephanie argued that Ridge doesn't have that kind of time, but Taylor refused to push Rick any faster than she felt was psychologically healthy.

Christine met with Ridge, Stephanie and Brooke. Christine was intrigued when they explained that Ridge wasn't responsible for Grant Chambers' shooting. Christine said knocking out that charge would make it much harder for Ridge to be convicted of Murder One. Later, Rick paid Ridge a visit, and offered to try to make the best of things with Ridge. Ridge said Rick could possibly help him in his defense, but Rick was didn't see how. Ridge suggested that others will explain that. Ridge tried to get Rick to remember that they didn't always have a bad relationship. Rick didn't see it that way, and threw several things from the past in Ridge's face, including his shooting of Grant Chambers. Ridge tried to end the conversation but Rick continued to get into Ridge's face. "I didn't shoot Grant Chambers," Ridge admitted. "Well then who did? Nick?" Rick asked sarcastically. "You did," Ridge revealed to a startled Rick.

Taylor comforted Bridget and asked her why she's so emotional. Bridget was about to talk to her when Dr. Karen interrupted and asked to speak with Bridget privately. Dr. Karen admonished her for attempting to tell Taylor that the donor eggs are Brooke's. Bridget insisted that if there's even a chance that Brooke could be the donor then Taylor and Nick need to be told. Dr. Karen insisted that Bridget show some objectivity. Bridget blew up and explained that considering the baby could be her half-sibling there's no way she could possibly be objective. Dr. Karen urged her to be responsible. "Protocol has got to be followed." Meanwhile, Nick arrived to dote on Taylor. The two lovebirds reveled in their impending parenthood. Bridget returned to meet them. Taylor asked her if everything's OK. Bridget reassured them that the pregnancy is progressing on course without any complications — "which is why what I have to tell you about your baby is all the more difficult to say," said Ashley, alarming Nick and Taylor.

Rick gave Constantine a hard time about Phoebe sleeping on his couch. Constantine took offense to Rick's tone and ordered him out of his house. After Rick and Constantine's heated exchanged, Rick went out to his car. Phoebe followed and assured him that nothing happened between her and Constantine. Rick told her he believed her but doubted Constantine's motives. Meanwhile, back in his apartment, Constantine heard someone's PDA go off. He checked and it was Rick's, and heard a message from Ashley commenting about last night. Constantine became giddy with excitement at the prospect that he caught Rick in a lie, since Rick insisted he was with his sister. After Rick and Phoebe reached an understanding, Rick was ready to drive them home but noticed his PDA is missing. Rick went back to Constantine's apartment to retrieve it. After picking it up, Rick warned Constantine how much he loves Phoebe and how he doesn't want to see her get hurt. "Trust me, Rick. I doubt I'm the one who will hurt her," Constantine coyly cooed. After Rick left, Constantine flashed back to Phoebe's words. Back in the car, Phoebe reasserted their love and trust for each other. Rick embraced her and they hugged.

Brooke arrived to speak to Ashley about Ridge. Brooke asked Ashley if she's still interested in Ridge. Ashley stonewalled. Brooke asked Ashley if she'd be interested in Ridge once he got out of jail. Ashley was nonplussed by Brooke's questions: "If Ridge is such a great guy then why did you leave him?" asked Ashley. Brooke deflected and the two debated Ridge's innocence. "You're trying to get him off of a murder charge and set him up on a date all in the same day," Ashley sniffed. "Or are you trying to fish?" After getting catty over Ridge and then Nick, Brooke flashed back to her relationship with Nick. Brooke explained how Nick once asked her to have a child and she declined, and wistfully conceded how much Nick and Taylor's baby has changed her/their lives.
