At the hospital, Ridge confronted Stephanie over taking advantage of her heart attack to get him to remarry Taylor. He told her not to meddle in his life again because she had gone too far and then walked out. She warned him, as he left, not to do anything foolish.

Thorne dropped by Brooke's house to check on her. She told him her suspicions about Stephanie's heart attack, which surprised him. She insisted that she was going to move on with her life, and for the sake of her kids, wouldn't wait around for Ridge to realize he made a mistake. Cue to Ridge pounding on her door. He admitted that he made a mistake by listening to his mother.

Nick visited Taylor, commented on her new hair cut and congratulated her on being the new queen of the castle. He asked her about Dante, and Taylor explained their connection. She informed him that he had a "classic hero complex" because he insisted on rescuing Brook. He insinuated that Stephanie faked her heart attack. When he left, she called Stephanie and told her what Nick said. Taylor thought it was a ridiculous accusation. Stephanie said nothing.

At the beach, Dante met Bridget. They recalled their time in Rome and he asked if she really wanted a guy like Nick. He kissed her.

Brooke stood outside her house with Hope and RJ. Inside, Nick had the living room set up with toys and a dollhouse. Brooke thanked him. Bridget was happy with how good he was to her family. When Nick and Hope played with the dollhouse, he asked her who all the dolls were. One was her daddy, she told him, as a tear ran down Brooke's cheek. Nick assured Hope that she would always have her brother and sister. He sent her off to get cookies from Katherine, just as Brooke came down the stairs. She told him this was the worst of all her separations from Ridge. He advised her to keep her head up and show everyone how strong she was, and then held her while she cried.

Ridge was haunted by Brooke's words ("Was it worth it? Saving your mother just to lose your son?"). He spotted a teddy bear on the floor and hugged it to himself, as he pictured seeing Hope asking him to read her a story. Just as he went to pick her up, she disappeared. The same thing happened as he imagined Brooke walking RJ over to him. Bridget came in, furious with him. She demanded to know how he could do this to her mother and the children. He never wanted to hurt Brooke. Bridget insisted that he let Stephanie choreograph the whole incident. Ridge was irritated Nick was with Brooke, and warned Bridget to watch Nick like a hawk — to keep him and Brooke far apart.

Gaby visited Thomas at Spectra. He told her he talked to immigration that morning to move along her application for residency. She said she would never be able to thank him enough. Philip Dunn, from Immigration Services came looking for them. He found it interesting that they got married so soon after Gaby's status changed, and demanded to know the truth behind their union.

Brooke continued to rag on Ridge for allowing Stephanie to manipulate him with such an obvious guilt trip. "You have to understand that everything happened so fast," Ridge defended. Taylor insisted that she would have never married Ridge unless he was certain of his decision. Brooke chided how romantic their ceremony must have been in the middle of a hospital room. "Your mother went too far this time," she growled at Ridge.

Nick visited Stephanie at the hospital. "Why no ambulance?" he asked and Steph explained that she was fortunate that Ridge was able to get her to the hospital right away. When Nick started to surmise how lucky it was for Stephanie to have a doctor in her pocket like Dr. Mark, she became annoyed. "If you keep saying things like this, you're going to be very, very sorry," she warned.

Bridget, Thomas, Phoebe and Steffy were upset that Brooke and her kids were moving out. Hope toddled in and asked if her siblings were coming, too. "We can't," lamented Thomas. Brooke, Ridge and Taylor came downstairs and he told Hope he would always be there for her. Thomas took R.J. in his arms and said good-bye to his baby brother. Taylor and Bridget escorted the kids outside with the luggage. Ridge held R.J. while Brooke wept. "You've brought me so much joy," Ridge cooed to his son. "I'm going to miss you so much." Bridget came back and wanted to know if her mom was ready to leave. Bridget took R.J. out and Brooke asked Ridge if losing his son was worth pleasing his mother. "This is unbearable," Ridge admitted. Brooke recounted how she fought so hard to keep their destiny alive. "I counted on you to protect me, to protect us and you let me down," she sobbed. "I want to forget you, I want to forget Stephanie, I want to forget it all." Brooke walked out as Ridge looked pained and conflicted.

Brooke showed up at Ridge's house to retrieve her kids. A sad Bridget greeted her mother with a sympathetic hug. Brooke then told Hope that they were moving back to their other house. "Is Daddy coming with us?" asked Hope and Bridget explained that he was staying behind. Brooke went upstairs and was disheartened to see Ridge's unmade bed as well as Taylor's nightgown. Ridge and Taylor came into the room to find Brooke packing her things. "How could you do this to us?" Brooke tearfully asked Ridge then reamed him for not being able to stand up to his mother before walking out.

Nick spent the night on Brooke's couch. Jackie arrived to check on Brooke. Jackie urged her son to be there for Brooke and her children. "Now is not the time for marrying Bridget," Jackie advised. Nick ordered Mom to keep her warnings and predictions to herself.

Mark informed Stephanie that she was making a remarkable recovery. Sally entered and declared, "You look pretty good for a dame spending last night on death's doorstep." Sally then broke out the champagne but when Stephanie said she couldn't partake because she just had a heart attack, Sal insisted her friend could manage a sip. Eric walked in and was peeved the gals were celebrating Brooke's misfortune. After Sally left, Eric scolded his wife for using her heart attack to manipulate Ridge.

Monday, July 4, 2005
Jackie showed up at Stephanie's hospital room. "Good show, Stephanie," Jackie sarcastically cheered, then made fun of the monitors and machines the patient was hooked up to. Steph was disgusted to hear that Brooke was already being comforted by Nick.

Brooke lamented to Nick she was outclassed by Taylor but he was curious as to what Ridge's wife had really been up to for the last couple of years. As they removed the covers from Brooke's furniture, she admitted that Ridge was weak and she was trying not to hate him.

Taylor explained to Ridge that Dante risked his life to help her escape. "He was my ally, he was my only friend," Taylor explained. Ridge thanked Dante for helping to bring Taylor home. She and Ridge were surprised when Dante revealed that he already knows Bridget. He announced he had a plane to catch and departed. Stephanie then called and tipped off Ridge that Brooke knows that he reconciled with Taylor. Steph thanked her son for giving her something to live for. Taylor gave her okay for Ridge to check up on Brooke. When he called her, he wasn't thrilled when Nick answered. Ridge asked to speak to Brooke, but she begged off. "She doesn't want to talk with you, but thanks for the concern," Nick huffed. "You made your bed, Forrester, now sleep in it, if you can." When Taylor moved into Ridge's bedroom, she was put off by finding some of Brooke's belongings. Ridge made his wife feel better with a passionate kiss. As they made love, a depressed Brooke unpacked boxes. She broke down in tears after she dropped her and Ridge's wedding photo and it shattered.
