B&B Recaps Week of Sep. 5, 2005Friday, September 9, 2005
Thursday, September 8, 2005 Brooke remained committed to proving she doesn't love Nick. She was firm with Nick when he called, insisting they both had to move on, which she said was "exactly what I'm doing as we speak." The call left her saddened, but she shook it off and used Hope's drowning as an excuse with Dante when he returned with a bottle opener. They rehashed the hospital scenes, noting that seeing Brooke and Nick is what had set everything off for Bridget, leading up the "test." Then Brooke told him she believed Nick and Bridget could make it happen. When she complimented her daughter, Dante told her not to sell herself short, saying, "You have a lot to offer to a man...besides the obvious, of course." The obvious being, "Your smile, your beauty, your eyes. It's quite intoxicating actually." Brooke returned the compliment and when he got up to pour the wine, she quipped, "Sounds intoxicating." The flirting and innuendos continued after their swim. Brooke told him she was more relaxed around him. "You make everything seem so uncomplicated." Then Dante said life might seem less complicated if she avoided the Forrester men, who always let her down. When she suggested she ought to "expand her horizons," he responded, "Yeah, maybe even to the shores of Italy...Where lovers sleep until noon." Then, out of the blue, she asked after his feelings for Bridget and he explained that Bridget just never returned his interest. "That just proves how much she loves Nick, being able to resist such a wonderful man like you," Brooke cooed. "Not many can," he quipped cockily. Brooke made sure he didn't think she was an "old woman" and then mentioned the position she'd offered him at Forrester. He asked what position she had "in mind," to which she responded, "I could think of a lot of positions I'd like to try you in." He called her naughty, which he liked, but just as she moved in for the kiss, Nick called, all worked up after a conversation with Eric.
Eric had visited Nick's office to confront him about his feelings for Brooke. He'd wondered if Nick was as resolute about committing to Bridget as Brooke was about it and warned that if not, he'd have to tell Bridget the truth. Nick admitted he wanted to tell the truth too, but was following Brooke's wishes. Eric told him that Brooke had a mysterious plan to prove to Bridget that she was over him. That is what prompted the call, but Brooke ignored him and responded as though he was talking about plans he had for Bridget — for Dante's benefit. When she hung up on Nick, she asked Dante to tell Bridget she was over Nick. Then she kissed him to prove it.
Wednesday, September 7, 2005 Eric returned to his office to find Bridget futzing around. She recognized that her father's mood was off, but he blamed his scowl on sales figures and asked after her. She rehashed her most recent meeting with Brooke and Nick, including the fact that she told them they didn't "need to explain why they're alone every single time I walk into the house." After droning about hormones and lack of sleep, she showed she was questioning that statement. "Am I missing something, dad?" she asked. She was upset to have found them together, but her father pointed out that they were both lied to (during the "test"), so it made sense that they turned to each other. She told him that they'd assured her that nothing was going on and that she was choosing to believe it. Then she asked what her father was hiding and wondered if she needed therapy to handle her insecurity. Eric reminded Bridget that before she'd found out about the baby, she'd been determined to leave Nick. She asked if he meant that a child shouldn't change her resolve. A page from the hospital called her back to work. Eric let her go, warning, "I don't know what do say to you. You're a bright young woman. You're intuitive. You keep your eyes open and you come to me — come to me with anything." Then he called Brooke and filled her in, telling her he'd kept Nick and Brooke's secret. When she told him to "say anything you can to Bridget to put her mind at ease," he was flabbergasted. He said Bridget would have to see it to believe it. Then he mentioned that Dante's the only one she's talking to these days and that he couldn't imagine how Brooke would convince him to believe her. A light bulb went off in Brooke's head. She asked Eric to give her one more night. "Believe me, tomorrow Bridget will have the reassurance she needs," she said, then hung up and spoke to herself. "You're going to help me Dante. It's the only way." She told Dante she'd figured out how to move on and then invited him on a "date" to clear her head. Back at the manse (or one of them!), Thomas was anxious to find Phoebe and make amends before she showed their mom his condom wrapper. Taylor interrupted his thoughts to remind him that they still had to have a talk about last night, without his sisters around. "The last thing I want is those girls to find out what almost happened between you and Gaby last night," she said. Meanwhile, Phoebe found a glowing Gaby primping and cooed at her in a very false manner. Gaby caught onto her tone just as Phoebe went in for the kill, saying, "If you truly appreciated what our family has done for you, then you'd realize that your being here has caused a lot of problems in my parent's marriage and you would do something about it." Like a true Forrester woman, she suggested Gaby to move out of state to hide from immigration. When Gaby said she was starting school and that she was happy there, Phoebe asked if that was more important than her parent's marriage. As Gaby scrambled to figure out what was going on, breakfast was called. Phoebe strolled into the dining room with a horrifically big smile plastered on her face and ignored Thomas. She announced that Gaby was moving, but Gaby denied it. Then Phoebe got vicious, scowling, "You and Gaby may be married, but that doesn't mean you can sleep together." Thomas was furious when she showed Taylor the condom wrapper, but an equally angry Taylor interrupted his attack and sent the twins to their room. She laid in on Gaby and when Thomas tried to defend her, his mother gave him the hand and then called immigration. Thomas begged her to talk about it first, but she said it was over. When Agent Dunn answered the phone, she spilled it all. "This marriage is a fraud and it has been since the beginning." He said he'd be right over. Thomas fumed over his mother's actions as Gaby sat and cried.
Tuesday, September 6, 2005 That's when Bridget arrived. She's been holding up traffic while fantasizing about Nick (to the song "Soul Reason"). When she walked in, Brooke said Nick was there to see her. "I came by to see Brooke," he corrected. Bridget took it in stride, understanding that she hurt them but explaining that she'd needed to be sure she wasn't the only thing keeping them apart, romantically. Nick told her he was happy with the baby and said he understood her motives. Brooke recommended they spend some quality time preparing for their new family. Bridget asked if he'd given them that chance and he responded, "We'll see." Then, the two headed back to the boat. Phoebe asked Steffy for help with her schoolwork, but Steffy was too busy stringing her racket. Steffy suggested she go to Gaby, which got Phoebe bitching about her sister-in-law. "She ought to be doing something around here," she sniffed, but Steffy pointed out she's been helping with a lot, including Phoebe's chores. "Who would you rather have at the house? Her or dad?" Next she went to Thomas' room looking for help, but he wasn't there. He was in the pool house, whispering with Gaby in post-coital bliss. Gaby was crying, happy that he'd been her first, and thanked him for being her "beautiful husband." As he dressed to go back to his room, Gaby said to be sure to cover up any evidence of their night. That's when Phoebe knocked on the door, still looking for help. Thomas hid in the bathroom while Gaby got rid of Phoebe by offering to help her the next day. Phoebe left with a roll of the eyes. After a bit more kissing, Gaby gave Thomas the condom wrapper and sent him back to his room (in his boxers. Very subtle.) When he got to his room, he couldn't find the condom. Unfortunately for him, an annoyed Phoebe found it outside his room. She let herself in and asked for help again. He was short with her and said he didn't have the time. "You don't have time for anything anymore, except Gaby," she whined. Then she showed him the condom and tried to blackmail him into doing her math homework for the year. "Get this through your pea brain," Thomas growled. "This is not giggling in the girls room about who's fat and who's cute. This is someone's life." Phoebe didn't think it was their problem and blamed Gaby for Ridge moving out. She stormed out, swearing she'd show Taylor the condom.
