Eric was shocked when Stephanie refused to hold a memorial service for Felicia. "No obituaries either!" La Forrester ordered and stormed out. Jackie showed up and offered her condolences to Eric. He voiced his concern for Stephanie's inability to deal with Felicia's death but Jackie could understand a mother's denial that her child has died.

Brooke wasn't happy to find Taylor on her doorstep. The contrite shrink advised Brooke not to talk about last night to anyone else for the sake of Ridge and Nick's already contentious relationship as well as how it might effect the children. "You should have thought about that before you got liquored up and fell into bed with Ridge's brother," Brooke griped. Taylor hoped this misunderstanding wouldn't interfere with Brooke's love for Nick. Brooke assured Taylor she wouldn't blab because she didn't want Bridget to know her husband was rolling in bed with another woman. "Last night was a wake-up call, so pull yourself together," Brooke suggested. Taylor headed to Nick's boat to apologize. He admitted he was just as much to blame. Taylor then tearfully confessed that she had been drinking too much lately and how she felt comfort in his arms the night before.

Stephanie sat in an office and poured out her grief to a somber man who appeared to be a funeral director. "You can be assured your daughter is in good hands," he stated. Steph asked to see her daughter and was led to a dimly-lit room. It turned out to be a hospital room and Felicia was alive, but comatose. The doctor explained that chemotherapy would have to start soon to get the cancer under control. "Hear me and know that you're safe," Stephanie whispered to her daughter.

"Nobody has to know what happened with Nick tonight," Stephanie declared, but Taylor insisted that nothing happened. She then revealed how Brooke had left Ridge and showed up at the boat in search of Nick, but found him in bed with Taylor. Stephanie fretted that Brooke would use this episode to drive a wedge between Taylor and Ridge. Steph then ushered Taylor out so they could resolve this misunderstanding before it got out of hand.

Brooke informed Ridge that she made a mistake by allowing them to get too intimate. Nick was only responding to what he thought was Brooke making love with Ridge, she explained, and wanted to be alone. "This is one of the longest days of my life and I want time to think," Brooke announced and walked out. When she got home, she was peeved to find Ridge waiting for her. He pestered her to be with him, but she lashed out at him for not giving her space. Ridge wanted to elope, but she refused. "Your sister died tonight," Brooke noted. "You need to just go home and be with your family." They hugged and she returned his ring. "In my heart, you are my wife," Ridge stated.

Taylor and Stephanie returned to the boat and both were stunned to learn from Nick that Ridge was already there. Steph impressed that Brooke had obviously chosen Nick, but most likely changed her mind after finding him with Taylor. Nick assured that Brooke is by herself but La Forrester urged Nick to go after her now before Ridge did. Nick told Stephanie to shut up. "You have just underestimated my son," Steph growled.

When Bridget returned to Brooke's house, Ridge asked her to watch Hope and R.J. so he could chase after Brooke. Bridget tried to convince him that her mother obviously wants to be with Nick, but Ridge refused to believe that alternative. "It's very sweet how concerned you are for me," Ridge cracked and dashed out. Bridget later told Dante that she could understand why Ridge is fighting so hard for his family even though Brooke now belongs with Nick.

Nick demanded that Brooke make a choice and they melted into a steamy kiss. "I want to be with you," Brooke declared. "It's been a confusing day." (Um, duh!). Ridge walked in on Nick and Brooke in each other's arms, then stumbled upon a pair of woman's shoes that Brooke said were not hers. Not knowing they belonged to Taylor, Ridge derided Nick for his inexcusable behavior and that Brooke now sees what kind of cad he really is. "C'mon, Logan, let's get out of here," Ridge announced but Brooke didn't budge.

"How did you end up like this?" Stephanie asked a trashed Taylor, who recounted binge drinking at Chuck's. Steph pointed out there's still a chance to reconcile with Ridge since his wedding was crashed by Nick. "It's too late," Taylor wailed and confessed to an emotional tailspin since her hubby walked out, which led to a embarrassing encounter with Nick. "This is a huge lapse in judgement," deemed Steph, but assured her she would take care of "everything."
