B&B Recaps Week of April 17, 2006Friday, April 21, 2006 Massimo consulted with Megan, who offered to try to fix things by talking to Brooke. Massimo told her he didn't want her to risk things by doing that, then hung up when Ridge entered and asked what happened to his office. Massimo told Ridge Nick trashed his office in an outburst. Ridge was angry at Nick’s actions and threatened to straighten him out. Massimo insisted he’d take care of Nick and reminded Ridge that his priority is Brooke. Ridge expressed his belief that Jackie is guilty of what she’s been accused of, and told Massimo that he brought Stephen back to town to sway Brooke’s mind. Massimo anxiously instructed Ridge to do whatever it takes to reconcile with Brooke by morning. Megan confronted Brooke and tried to defend Ridge. Brooke told Megan about Stephen’s return, and conceded that she could envision working out some of her issues with her father. Megan praised Ridge’s decision to summon Stephen, and encouraged a now wavering Brooke to reconsider her original position. As Nick’s suspicions of Megan got the best of him, he called Brooke to tell her about the lie he thought he caught Megan in. Nick told Brooke how to verify if Megan was actually lying. Nick’s planned worked, and Brooke caught Megan in a lie. Megan realized she’d been caught in a lie, and ran over to Massimo to break the news to him. As Massimo reassured Megan that he would fix things, Nick burst onto the scene and discovered them together. As Massimo tried to stonewall, Nick made a veiled threat that things were about to change.
Meanwhile, Brooke popped more pills at the realization that Megan is also involved in the anti-Nick “conspiracy.” Ridge arrived and smugly asserted he was right for bringing Stephen home and setting the two of them on course for reconciliation. Ridge insisted that the way has now been paved for the two of them to reconcile. As the drugs kicked in Brooke became lethargic and out of it. Ridge caressed her hair and kissed her lightly as she began to fade out. As Ridge continued his seduction, Brooke passively went along with it.
Thursday, April 20, 2006 At Forrester, Stephanie was going over business with Sally and Megan, who sniped at each other over their assignments. Stephanie asked Megan for an assessment of how Jackie’s arrest would affect sales at Jackie M. Megan talked to Stephanie privately and told her she doesn’t think that her new position is a good fit with her. She thanked Stephanie for the opportunity, but said she missed being close to the Forrester family. Megan speculated that maybe she belongs elsewhere. Stephanie asked her not to rush into any decisions prematurely. Stephanie asked her if she’s seeing someone new. Megan said she was, but wanted to keep things under wraps until she could make sure everything is working out. Stephen told Ridge he was concerned that his visit has made things worse. Ridge told Stephen he’d go out and look for Brooke. While waiting, Stephen took a trip down memory lane by looking at framed family photos on display in the house. Hope appeared and asked Stephen who he is. Stephen told Hope he is her grandpa. Hope was confused. Stephen told her he’s her mommy’s daddy, and has been away in Paris. Hope said she was told he’s been missing birthdays and holidays because he’s a busy man. Stephen offered his apology to Hope, who accepted it but didn’t really seem to grasp or care about who Stephen is. Upstairs Brooke eavesdropped on them from the staircase as Stephen reminisced to Hope about his camping trips when Brooke was Hope’s age. Stephen told Hope he sees Brooke’s qualities in her. Hope invited him to go camping with them next time. Brooke interrupted and said that Grandpa has to go back to Paris, and sent Hope off to get a snack so that the “grownups could talk.” Brooke told Stephen that was the last time he’d meet her. Ridge returned and joined the conversation. Brooke was infuriated at the two of them for conspiring together, and accused each of them for abandoning her in his own way. She rejected Ridge’s request for another chance, and vowed to never let anyone do that to her again. Stephen asked if he could stay. Brooke asked him if he wanted money or something else to leave. Ridge insisted that Stephen is the only one that can help her work out her issues. Ridge suggested that even if she couldn’t give him another chance then maybe she could at least give her father another chance. Brooke tearfully said she couldn’t, so Stephen agreed to leave, over Ridge’s objections. Before he left, Stephen offered one final apology for everything. Brooke broke down in his arms, and the two tearfully embraced as Ridge looked on.
Wednesday, April 19, 2006 Brooke angrily demanded to know why her father Stephen is on her doorstep. Ridge told Brooke she has unresolved issues of betrayal and abandonment with her father, that he can help resolve. Brooke didn’t want to hear one word from Stephen or Ridge and stormed out. Stephen said maybe it was a mistake that he came. Ridge chased after Brooke and told her their future is riding on this, and pleaded with her to listen to what her father has to say. Brooke said she didn’t need to listen to what he has to say: He’s a coward who walked out on their family. Brooke accused Stephen of robbing her of her childhood. Ridge explained that Brooke felt she had dealt with all of these issues the last time Stephen returned to her life, but she didn’t. He said until she truly resolves them with her dad that Brooke will never be able to forgive Ridge for walking out on her as well. Brooke was angry that Ridge brought Stephen to L.A. Ridge maintained he ran into Stephen by accident in Europe. Brooke didn’t care and tearfully ordered Stephen to leave. Ridge interceded and declared that Stephen is a changed man and is now here to help, and pleaded with her to reconsider and listen to Stephen. Stephen admitted his past wrongdoings, and said he doesn’t deserve her forgiveness but does hope that she can become happy if he can help to repair some of the damage. Stephen insisted he didn’t come here to cause her pain. Stephen said he’s ashamed of what he’s done in the past but he’s getting his life together. He told her he didn’t leave her because he didn’t love her. Stephen said he felt her could just never measure up or be good enough, and felt that she’d be better off without him. Stephen pleaded with Brooke not to hold his sins against Ridge. At Forrester, Nick barged into Stephanie’s office and accused her of being part in Massimo’s scheme to frame Jackie. Stephanie admitted she doesn’t like Jackie but denied being a part of the frame-up. Stephanie doubted that Massimo would be behind such an elaborate scheme. Nick remained convinced Massimo was guilty and renewed his vow to prove it. Stephanie told Nick once he had children of his own he’d understand the lengths a parent would go to. Nick then paid Jackie a visit in jail. He told her he confronted Massimo but got nowhere. Nick told Jackie he’s giving Massimo just 12 hours before he retaliates. Jackie warned Nick not to underestimate his father, but Nick remained undaunted in his desire to destroy his father if he doesn’t free his mother by morning.
Tuesday, April 18, 2006 Megan talked to Massimo, who kept his opera music loud so people couldn't hear her voice in his office. Megan said he needed to put a scare into Nick but not send his mother to jail. Massimo was upset when he learned that Nick stumbled upon Megan in Jackie’s office, but Megan told him how she covered. Megan asked him to level with her. Massimo wanted to know what he was being accused of, and questioned her loyalty toward Brooke. Megan insisted she’s still loyal to Brooke, and knows that Brooke has lost her way by choosing Nick over Ridge. Massimo rewarded Megan with an expensive necklace for her efforts. Megan was dazzled by the jewelry and Massimo’s charms, when he told her she’s becoming more and more important to him every day. Megan told Massimo no one has ever made her feel the way he does. Massimo got a call saying that Nick wants to see him. Massimo ensured Megan exited secretly before seeing Nick. Nick confronted Massimo directly about his indecent proposal to Jackie. Massimo stonewalled and insisted as head of the family he’s merely looking out for everyone’s best interests. Nick warned Massimo that he doesn’t want Nick as an enemy because he can do a lot of damage. Massimo warned Nick not to threaten him. Nick spat (literally) at Massimo and gave him an ultimatum: spring Jackie from jail by morning — or else! Ridge came home and found a gift and card left for him by Hope. Brooke returned and Ridge put the charms and moves on her again. Brooke said she’s really tired and doesn’t have the energy to contend with him. Ridge told her he arranged for her to have a free night away from the kids and everything else that’s bothering her. Brooke admonished him for trying to set up a lame seduction scheme. Ridge insisted that wasn’t his motive — rather, he was simply trying to help someone he cares about who needs it. Brooke was insulted by Ridge’s characterization that she’s somebody who’s sick and needy. Ridge apologized and said he’s trying to find his way through the darkness where she’s concerned. He said they’re connected enough for him to know when something is wrong. After Ridge and Brooke argued a few rounds over the true depth of her feelings for Nick, the doorbell rang. Brooke was stunned to see her father, Stephen, on her doorstep — right on (Ridge’s) cue.
Monday, April 17, 2006 Stephanie and Felicia were happy that Felicia seemed to be improving. Bridget joined them and they shared the good news. Christian then arrived and wheeled the patient off to the guest house. After, Steph asked Bridget if she's happy about Felicia being alive. "What kind of question is that?" asked Bridget. Stephanie noted that Bridget is probably feeling conflicted about the baby; Bridget explained that she and Felicia are both going to be a mother to him. Bridget correctly concluded that Steph had known all along that Felicia was alive, which was why she'd been cautioning Bridget to not get too close to Dino. Stephanie pointed out that Felicia is living on borrowed time and that Bridget should therefore let her have time with the baby. Bridget believed that because she's Brooke's daughter, Stephanie is against her. Stephanie argued that she's not taking sides. Bridget insisted that she's going to play a significant role in Dino's life; she explained that she already loves the baby and can't let go. Christian checked a particular vital sign of Felicia's. She was happy to be in the company of a "hunky doctor." Massimo urged Brooke to be with Ridge. Just then, who should arrive but Ridge himself. Mass demanded that they work things out right then and there. "Address it, forgive and get on with it," advised Mass, tapping into his self-help guru speak. Ridge then began speaking to Brooke as Mass annoyingly hovered. Brooke stated that she's chosen Nick. As she tried to leave, Ridge stepped in front of her and blocked the door (yeah, that'll win her over). Oddly enough, this romantic gesture did not convince her to stay. After, Ridge told Massimo that he appreciates him helping him with this. Mass replied that family always comes first. Ridge confidently shared that he has a plan. Later, Megan came by with some documents for Massimo and blushed when Ridge complimented her. After Ridge left, Mass stared thoughtfully into space as he listened to opera. Megan then stopped by and told Mass that she "can't do this anymore." Nick informed Brooke about Megan's presence in Jackie's office, and how he's convinced that Jackie is innocent. Brooke told him that she saw Massimo and let him know that he won't come between them. A grateful Nick kissed her. Nick was determined to get Jackie freed.
