Donna continued to pick at Brooke for dumping her modeling career. "Aliens must have abducted my sister," Donna sniped, blaming Nick. He overheard Donna disparage him and asked, "When are you leaving?" Donna stood by her opinion and Nick contended that Brooke is the best CEO that Forrester Creations ever had. After Brooke left, Donna started in on Nick for his demands on Brooke. He explained that he was more concerned about Ridge and Stephanie. "I don't trust them," he groused. "They don't know the meaning of the word 'no.' "

Upset over Darla's death, Bridget voiced her gratitude that Dino has both of his parents. She then got depressed over the loss of her infant daughter. Dante suggested they have their own child. "Having a baby with you would only bring more love in our lives," he pointed out and suggested they don't have to get married to have a baby. Bridget was intrigued and they went off to the bedroom to make love.

Eric and Stephanie were touched by the outpouring of sympathy cards and flowers. Eric couldn't help but worry about Brooke's Bedroom with Thorne temporarily out of commission. Stephanie suggested they use Felicia in the interim. When Eric said he would pass that by Brooke, Stephanie announced that Brooke gave up her rights to run Forrester Creations when she married Nick. Eric disagreed but his stubborn wife insisted Brooke had a moral obligation to return the stock because she didn't marry Ridge. "I can damn well make sure Mrs. Marone doesn't end up with our company," Steph fumed. Brooke showed up and Stephanie presented a document for her to sign that would return Brooke's stock back to Forrester. "As far as I'm concerned, I earned this stock," Brooke said and refused to sign. When Stephanie became angry, Brooke made a veiled threat of firing her. "It's over!" Steph roared.

Thorne blamed himself for being gone when Darla received Phoebe's call, then went out to help her niece. Of course, Taylor was upset that Thorne was putting himself through such torture. As he tried to make sense out of Darla's death, Taylor attempted to confess her guilt. "I haven't been myself for a long time," she said tearfully and admitted her recent dependence on alcohol. Thorne assured that he wouldn't start drinking to cope. When he stepped out on the patio to take a phone call, Hector showed up and explained to Taylor that she can't come clean. When Thorne returned, Hector offered his condolences, then escorted Taylor out.

Brooke was happily surprised when Donna showed up on her doorstep. Little sister wanted to check up on Brooke, as well as attend Darla's funeral. Donna expressed surprise that Brooke married Nick. "I will always have feelings for Ridge, but I'm in love with my husband," Brooke declared. Donna pointed out that her sis was with the wrong man. Nick entered the room and overheard the comment. After Donna met her new brother-in-law, Nick politely asked her to at least keep an open mind about him. "Deal," Donna agreed. Brooke was sorry that she couldn't take the day off to be with Donna, but the Forresters were in mourning and Brooke's presence was required at the office. Donna and Nick got into a disagreement over Brooke's modeling. After he went upstairs, Donna blasted Brooke for giving up something she loved "for that man." Brooke assured that she's happy being a businesswoman. "I've never felt more myself than the times I am with Nick," she added. "My modeling days are over and that's a fair compromise."

At Hector's house, he continued to reason with Taylor, but she broke down once again over what she did. "Somebody has to pay for that," she insisted. "I killed a little girl's mother." Hector reminded Taylor that Phoebe is emotionally fragile, too and would be devastated if her mother went to jail. "There's no turning back," Hec noted.

A restless Taylor had trouble sleeping and was horrified to find a bloody Darla sitting on her bed. Taylor then woke up from her nightmare and Phoebe tried to comfort her. Hector showed up and announced that Darla didn't make it. Taylor fell to the floor sobbing, then became determined to turn herself in, but Phoebe and Hector quickly opposed it. When Taylor went upstairs, Phoebe broke down in Hector's arms. "You can't let her do this," she cried. They panicked when they realized that Taylor had slipped out of the house.

Brooke returned to Forrester Creations and Ridge broke the news that Darla had died. "What Thorne must be going through," Brooke lamented.

Thorne was visibly shaken as he returned home with Stephanie and observed the remnants of Alexandria's birthday party. He became distressed when he couldn't recall the last conversation with Darla. Steph suggested that her son try and get some sleep. "I can't," Thorne whimpered. "I don't think I can stand to wake up without her." He then worried about Alexandria and Stephanie offered to go pick up her granddaughter at Sally's place. Thorne suggested that Steph only tell Alexandria that Mommy is at the doctor and Daddy is with her. After Steph left, Thorne was overcome with grief and he spotted the video camera Thomas was operating during the party. Thorne laughed and wept as he watched Darla in some of the scenes. An emotional Taylor arrived. "I'm so terribly sorry," she wailed then she saw the video of Darla declaring her love for her husband and their daughter. Thorne became inconsolable. "I can't tell you why this happened," Taylor revealed. "But I can tell you how."

At Taylor's house, Hector called a friend who agreed to thoroughly clean her car of any incriminating evidence. Hec informed Taylor and Phoebe that they needed to get their stories straight. Taylor was more worried about Darla which caused her daughter to become unglued. "Please don't leave me again," Pheebs begged. As Hector tried to convince Taylor to go along with the ruse, Lt. Baker showed up with more questions. As he retraced what happened, Taylor attempted to confess, but Phoebe jumped in and lied that her mother showed up after Darla was hit. Baker then observed the empty bottle of wine before leaving.

Sally and Thorne continued their vigil at Darla's bedside. "She's a fighter," Sal declared stoically. "She's gonna make it." After Sally left, Thorne remembered happier times with his wife. After a chat with the doctor, Thorne sank further into despair. He kissed Darla on the lips and her eyes fluttered open as Stephanie entered the room. "I'm so grateful for the miracle of you," he cried, but he was so overcome with emotion that he couldn't speak any longer. Steph stepped in. "You're the finest Mrs. Forrester that ever was," she quietly affirmed to her daughter-in-law. Darla weakly smiled, then slipped away without saying a word. As a sobbing Thorne fell into his mother's arms, Sally tearfully watched from the window.

At Darla's bedside, Taylor sobbed to Thorne that his wife's condition was all her fault. "I'm the one to blame for everything," she cried. Thorne exonerated her because he thought Taylor was feeling guilty for not coming to Phoebe's rescue before Darla. Christian arrived to examine the patient and Taylor slipped out of the room.

Hector was shocked to learn that Taylor already had a DUI on her record. Lt. Baker showed up to investigate the hit-and-run, but Hector prevented the cop from interrogating Taylor. Hec then escorted Taylor and Phoebe out of the hospital — after Baker detected alcohol on Taylor's breath. Once Hector, Taylor and Phoebe were alone outside, the fireman announced that Taylor will surely go to jail because she was driving with a suspended license due to her previous DUI charge. Taylor insisted that she had to face the music, but Phoebe freaked out that she could lose her mom again. "I love you and I want to protect you," Hector declared. Taylor still wanted to turn herself in, but her daughter became hysterical.

After finding out about Darla's accident, Stephanie picked up Sally and Clarke and they headed to the hospital, where Sal sat at Darla's bedside. "I may not have given birth to you, but you are my daughter in every way that counts," Sally lamented. "You are not going anywhere ... and that's an order." Sally vowed to a still-unconscious Darla that when she gets better, they will resurrect Spectra together.
