Thorne showed Alexandria and Stephanie photos from Darla's birthday party the night before. Steph was moved by her granddaughter's fondness for Taylor. After, the little girl left the room, Thorne worried how the family would react to his relationship with Taylor . Steph advised him not to be concerned about that. "Sometimes out of great tragedy comes great joy," Mom noted.

Taylor escorted Hector to the pool. He scolded her for spending too much time with Thorne. "I want you to stop talking about this," Taylor insisted but Hector doubted her ability to keep the secret from Thorne. When she went into the house, Hector called Stephanie and declared that her matchmaking will backfire because it will motivate Taylor to confess all to Thorne. "This relationship is doomed," he predicted. Taylor returned and Hector announced that it was time for him to move out and get on with his life. She feared he wasn't ready to be independent yet but asked him to put aside his expectations for romance with her so he could focus on adjusting to his blindness. "I don't think I can," he lamented but Taylor urged him to rethink his moving plans.

In his room, Shane practiced his blackmail speech that he planned to deliver to Taylor. ""Write me a check for $1,000,000," he recited in a mirror, then headed over to Taylor's house. Phoebe let him in and Shane asked to see her mother. "I have a business proposition for her," he hinted.

Phoebe summoned Taylor, who accidentally called him Shawn. They were interrupted when Thorne called and asked Taylor out to dinner. Taylor happily accepted. "It's a new beginning for both of us," Thorne enthused. After a giddy Taylor hung up, Shane told her, "Mrs. Forrester, your secret, I already know what it is."

"What are you trying to tell me... or not tell me?" Brooke asked a guilt-ridden Bridget who then confessed her hopes that Nick would come back to her. Nick showed up and assumed Bridget had blabbed about their tryst. "Maybe it's for the best," he declared but Bridget stopped him from saying any more. Brooke apologized for her jealousy and embraced Bridget while a conflicted Nick looked on. Once her guests had departed, Bridget tearfully packed up the baby things she had for Nicole. Meanwhile, Brooke apologized to Nick for her past behavior. "We need to believe in our love," she smiled but as they embraced, a tormented expression clouded Nick's face.

Shane fantasized about confronting Taylor with his knowledge of Darla's accident and then demanding a $1,000,000 payment. After snapping out of his daydream, Shane rationalized he was doing the right thing since Taylor is guilty of a crime.

Taylor, Phoebe, Sally and Clarke joined Thorne and Alexandria in celebrating Darla's birthday with a cake and candles. Alexandria gave Taylor one of her mother's necklaces. "I love you," said the tot. After Sally and Clarke left and Alexandria was in bed, Thorne told Taylor, "What Ali told you earlier tonight... I feel the same way." He then said good night and turned in.

Following a tip from big-mouth Felicia, Brooke asked Bridget if she was seeing someone new. Bridget denied it, but Brooke observed that something was bothering her daughter. Bridget admitted she wasn't over Nick. "You're still in love with my husband?" a shocked Brooke asked. Bridget lamented that she was biding her time for Brooke's marriage to fail she could reunite with Nick. Bridget apologized and Brooke assured she could never hate her daughter for anything. Bridget then announced she had something else to tell her mom.

Nick was perplexed when an angry Harry came to the boat and started packing his things. "If you want to marry the mother and still sleep with the daughter, I'm sure you've got your reasons," Harry fumed at a stunned Nick. "I'm not going to tell anybody."

Shane spied on Taylor and Phoebe as they discussed going to Thorne's place for dinner to observe Darla's birthday. Taylor shared with Phoebe that something meaningful was brewing with Thorne. Phoebe was happy for her mom, but fretted that Taylor's guilt may get the best of her. Shane entered the house under the pretext of spraying for invading spider mites and Phoebe introduced him to Taylor, who then went upstairs to get ready for Thorne's dinner. Since Alexandria wanted Taylor and Phoebe to spend the night, Taylor packed a bag as Hector voiced his disapproval.

Phoebe explained to Shane that her Aunt Darla had recently died. Shane panicked when Phoebe asked how he knew her name. He covered by explaining that another gardener filled him in. After Phoebe went upstairs, Thorne showed up and Shane expressed his sympathy for Forrester's loss. Taylor came down and stated that Phoebe would be driving her own. She also warned Shane he would have to leave. Shane returned to his dingy apartment and remembered witnessing Taylor's car colliding with Darla. "It's a terrible thing that one man's loss is another man's gain," Shane declared menacingly. "Come tomorrow, it's payday for me."

At Darla's grave, Taylor asked for a sign of support for her growing relationship with Thorne. At that moment Thorne arrived. "She's the one who brought us together," Thorne affirmed as he laid flowers at his wife's tombstone.

Phoebe waited at the family pool for the arrival of Nick's pal, who she promised to show around. Phoebe was shocked when Harry showed up. They got to know each other over iced tea and Harry was amused by how sheltered Phoebe is. Before they left for a motorcycle ride, they encountered Shane, the new gardener. Harry was perplexed as to how Shane knew Phoebe's name since she has an identical twin sister.

Dante pushed Felicia to set a wedding date. "I want you to be my wife," he smiled. They temporally tabled the subject to have sex.

Taylor came home to Stephanie who started complaining about Hector lodging with Taylor. "You don't know what he's really capable of," Steph cautioned. Thorne showed up and told his mom to lay off. When he left the room, Stephanie pressed upon Taylor how much Thorne and Alexandria need her. Taylor went to join Thorne and Hector wandered out into the living room. "You son of a bitch," Stephanie fumed and warned him not to get between Thorne and Taylor. A defiant Hector announced he wasn't going anywhere.

On the patio, Thorne and Taylor made a date. They kissed and after he left, Taylor was unaware that she was being watched by Shane. He then flashbacked to being the stranger who scared Phoebe on the night Darla was hit by Taylor's car.

"I'm sorry," Nick told Bridget. "You've been hurt so many times. I wish there was something I could say to make it better." He still wanted to confess their one-nighter to Brooke, but Bridget insisted that he not do so. "I opened my heart to you last night only to lose you again today," sobbed Bridget. "If you tell her we slept together, we all lose." Nick left without letting her know what he would do.

"Nick forgave me for running to you last night," Brooke boasted, however Ridge predicted that her hubby would eventually let her down. Ridge hugged Brooke and told her he would miss her while he was touring Europe on a business trip with Donna. After he left, Brooke reminisced about happier times with Ridge.

Taylor tried to referee Hector and Thorne. "Don't you think it's inappropriate to start a relationship with another woman so soon?" Hector pointed out. Thorne got peeved and ordered Hector to respect his relationship with Taylor. Hec lunged at Thorne who merely stepped aside and his would-be assailant fell on the sofa. Taylor asked Thorne to leave, then admonished Hector and told him never to behave like that again. Hector warned that the closer she got to Thorne, the more she would be eaten by guilt. "He will send you to jail!" Hec exclaimed. "The best thing you can do is stay away from him." Thorne watched their heated encounter through a window.
