Donna ran inside the house after seeing Jackie's fall. Stephanie bolted downstairs and called the paramedics. Steph ordered Donna to take the kids and get them out of the house before the ambulance arrived. Still shocked, Donna did as instructed.

Brooke was about to answer the "him or me" question regarding Ridge and Nick when Stephanie called Ridge and interrupted the showdown with news of Jackie's accident. She told him to inform Nick and meet them at the hospital.

At the hospital, Jackie was brought in as Steph recalled the argument in a flashback that led to the fall. Nick, Brooke and Ridge arrived. Steph informed them that Jackie suffered a fall. Bridget emerged and told the family that there was no spinal damage but Jackie was suffering from bleeding on the brain. There could be permanent cognitive damage, she warned. Nick went in to see his mom as Brooke asked Steph about her involvement. "There's no blame here," she replied. Stephanie said Jackie wouldn't leave and their argument got ugly. In Jackie's room, Nick told his mother that she was going to be fine. Nick then joined Steph, Brooke and Ridge and wanted an explanation. "Nick, it was an accident," she stated. Nick barked that if it wasn't, Steph would live to regret it. Brooke told Nick she was there for him. He went back into Jackie's room. Steph told Brooke not to worry about Nick or Jackie. They'd be fine — be with Ridge, she suggested. Brooke wandered down a hallway and Ridge grabbed Brooke and pulled her into a supply closet. "I want our families reunited," he whispered. "I want you." They kissed. "Tell me you're ready for us to be together," he begged.

In jail, Taylor and Phoebe shared a hug. Thorne arrived and eavesdropped as Taylor told her daughter to remember the good times they shared. As they hugged again, Taylor caught glimpse of Thorne. Phoebe left as her mom wished her a happy birthday. Thorne echoed the sentiment. Phoebe left and Thorne demanded some answers from the woman who ran down his wife. He told Taylor that Darla was not a klutz and Taylor re-iterated that it wasn't Darla's fault. Her demise was an accident. He asked her to recount the accident again. She did and then said she should have been honest with him. "I tried, but then we got closer," she cried. They looked into each other's eyes. Loooong pause.

The Forresters thanked Shane for stepping forward on Taylor's behalf. Phoebe entered to her family's birthday greetings. As Harry gave Bridget a gift, Eric got a call and told the family that Jackie's in the hospital. Later by the pool, Shane told Phoebe that he was sorry her party was such a downer. He then leered at her and mentioned that turning 18 made her a woman now. Creepy!

After a phone call from Stephanie pleading Ridge's case, Brooke received a similar call from Jackie stumping for Nick. Brooke informed her mom-in-law that she had already made up her mind and hung up. Nick entered with a suit to change into and told his mum that he was invited to Brooke's house. Jackie was elated and assumed this meant that Brooke wants to save their marriage.

Ridge informed his mother that Brooke has requested his presence. After he left, Stephanie called Donna and asked her to bring R.J. and Hope over for a visit. Donna complied, but was suspicious of Stephanie's motives. Sure enough, Stephanie warned Donna that she will never have a future with Ridge. Jackie popped in and when she started sparring with Stephanie, Donna took the kids out for ice cream. However after she strapped the kids into their car seats, Donna noticed that Jackie's auto was blocking the driveway. She went back to the house but the front door was locked so she went around to the back terrace door. Inside the house, Jackie and Stephanie's argument was heating up. Jackie called Ridge a "lunatic playboy" but was stunned when Stephanie revealed that Brooke had asked Ridge to come over to her place. Steph then charged upstairs to get away from Jackie, who followed her. They stopped for more yelling on the landing where Jackie grabbed Stephanie's arm. "Let go of me," La Forrester demanded and pushed away Jackie, who toppled over the railing and crashed on the entry hall floor. Donna, standing at the back door, saw Jackie fall.

Brooke was plagued by happy memories of both Ridge and Nick. Ridge arrived and declared how beautiful his Logan looked. He then wasn't too happy when Nick showed up (Nick didn't look pleased either). "Butt out Popeye," Ridge growled at his brother. Brooke ordered them to find common ground so her kids weren't "exposed to this kind of hostility." She then announced that she had come up with a decision that will work out best for everyone.

"I don't want you to come home with me," Brooke told Nick. He offered to sleep on the couch, but she turned him down and left. Brooke went home to find Ridge tending to the kids. He promised not to pressure her, but she told him that if they're going to be together, she can never come second in his life again, like she did with Caroline, Taylor and "last, but not least" Stephanie. Ridge urged Brooke not to be afraid of her feelings for him. She then announced that she would have an answer for him tomorrow at 6 o'clock. After Ridge left, she called Nick and requested that he come over at the same time. After hanging up, Brooke said, "My decison has been made. The first day of the rest of life."

"You're having Dante's child?" Felicia stammered and Bridget confirmed the truth. Felicia became unglued and informed her sister that Dante isn't available. "What I wanted more than anything in this world was to have a family with you, Bridget," Dante declared. "But Felicia is everything to me." Bridget agreed that he and Felicia belonged together. Dante professed his love to Felicia and they kissed as Bridget and Eric looked on.

"You take your vile mind and go back to the gutter where you belong!" Stephanie raged at Jackie, who accused La Forrester of only wanting Ridge and Brooke to be together so she could get her hands on Brooke's shares. Jackie stormed out and found a despondent Nick on his boat. She advised Nick to be quick about salvaging his marriage because Stephanie is determined to see that they break up. "I have never seen Stephanie be so abusive," Jackie fumed. Nick then noticed the red mark on his mother's face and Jackie confirmed it was courtesy of Stephanie's hand. Nick charged over to confront Steph. "Never, ever come near my mother again!" he yelled. He warned Stephanie never to cross the line again or she will lose everything dear to her.

Ridge decided to move back into Taylor's house while she's in jail. Jackie arrived to check on Phoebe and was surprised to encounter Ridge. She gleefully pointed out that Nick and Brooke were dining together, but he was unfazed. Stephanie showed up and Ridge left to get more of his belongings. Steph and Jackie immediately started arguing about their sons and which one is meant to be with Brooke. Jackie then accused Stephanie of wanting to sleep with Ridge and Steph slapped her.

Brooke met Nick for dinner at Cafe Russe. She bristled at Nick's overprotectiveness and told him things had to change if their marriage was going to survive. One of her demands included working out of Forrester Creations and Nick agreed. "I need respect," Brooke affirmed, then got up to leave. Nick was stunned by her sudden exit and chased after her. He made a last-ditch plea for reconciliation. "I want to come home with you tonight," he declared.

Bridget invited Felicia and Dante over for dinner so she could reveal that she is pregnant with his baby. Bridget also had Eric over for moral support. Once all the guests were present, Felicia kept prodding how Brooke accepted Bridget's pregnancy. "Any baby is a reason to jump for joy," Felicia stated. Bridget was relieved by her sister's attitude and insisted she was perfectly capable of raising a child on her own. Felicia assumed she was asking them to be godparents and Bridget corrected her. "I made a mistake," she announced. "I'm farther along than I thought ... the baby is yours." Dante was shocked.

At the L.A. County courthouse, Stephanie insisted that Shane have a chance to testify. "It's too late to introduce new evidence," declared the D.A. Thorne urged Shane to tell the court what he had to say and the judge allowed him to speak. Shane recounted how Darla fell back into the road and was struck by Taylor's car. The judge ordered both counsels and Thorne into his chambers for a meeting. In the judge's office, Jennifer and Storm argued whether or not Shane's testimony changed the outcome of Taylor's sentence. The judge asked if Thorne believed Shane. Thorne wasn't sure what to believe, but didn't want Taylor to go to prison for 10 years if Darla's death was truly a terrible accident. Storm demanded a trial. "What would you like to see happen here?" the judge asked Thorne.

Despite the Forresters optimism that Shane's testimony could help Taylor, she was adamant that she go to prison. The press hounded Stephanie and Lt, Baker ordered them to back off. When Steph thanked the cop, he groused, "You didn't need any help turning this courtroom into a circus, Mrs. Forrester." Creepy Shane later reminded Stephanie that no matter what happens to Taylor, they still have a deal and "I get what I want."

Everybody returned from the judge's chambers and court was reconvened. Even though the charges of driving without a license and obstruction of justice will still stand, the defendant was given the chance to change her plea. Taylor didn't want to go to trial in order to spare the victim's family the pain, but Thorne urged her to do so. Taylor then announced she was changing her plea to not guilty. Taylor returned to her jail cell, where Thorne showed up. "I have to thank you," Taylor whimpered. "You stand by people even after they hurt you... I'm humbled by your compassion.... It's so much more than I deserve." She hugged a stone-faced Thorne, but he quickly left without responding to her tearful expression of gratitude.
