At the courthouse Phoebe and Taylor debated Shane's motives. Storm and Ridge entered and announced that Shane is still MIA. Phoebe offered to testify for Taylor, but Storm said it would do more harm than good. In the courtroom, Phoebe reconnected with Thomas, and Ridge expressed his appreciation to Hector for protecting Pheobe from Shane. Eric and Stephanie told Thorne that Shane went MIA. Thorne got upset at the thought of what that would do to Taylor¹s case, and the three of the made a beeline to the courtroom. Storm requested a continuance but the judge denied it. While waiting for the trial to resume Dante told Felicia that Bridget lost the baby. When the judge reconvened the trial, Storm called Taylor to the stand. When Taylor wouldn't speak up in her own defense the judge allowed Storm to treat her as a hostile witness. But Taylor persisted to take the blame for what happened to Darla. As Storm was about to rest his case Thorne announced that he wanted to be called to the stand. Thorne spoke eloquently and movingly about the kind of person Taylor is, how much she helped him and Alexandria, and how what happened was simply an accident for which there is NO ONE to blame. As Taylor tearfully looked on, Thorne declared on the stand that he forgave her, but added that Darla would say there is nothing to forgive. Breaking down, Thorne pleaded with the jury to set Taylor free.

Phoebe freaked out when Shane slugged Harry unconscious. Hector ran to her rescue and swung his bat at Shane, knocking Shane unconscious too. Harry came to, while Hector called the police and the paramedics on his cell. Phoebe freaked out and argued with Hector and Harry about jumping the gun where Shane was concerned. As the three argued Shane regained consciousness and slipped away. Harry went looking for him but couldn't find him. Lt. Baker arrived and got conflicting reports from Phoebe, Shane and Hector on what happened. Phoebe refused to press charges, but Lt. Baker offered to help her find Shane. A bloodied Shane returned to his home but started feeling dizzy as he went to put the key in the door. Lt. Baker and the police arrived at Shane's and broke the door down when he didn't respond. When they searched his place they found it empty. Lt. Baker got a call about a badly injured man at the deli nearby and surmised it was Shane, who was actually the person who made the call from the nearby rooftop on his cell. Harry left with Lt. Baker to identify Shane, who appeared to Phoebe. Shane broke down and cried over how much he likes her and thought that she liked him the same way. Shane laid his sob story on Phoebe, and told her he's leaving. Phoebe begged him to stay but Shane refused and left as Phoebe screamed for him to return.

Alexandria asked Thorne and Stephanie when Taylor will be back from London. After Alexandria went to bed Thorne expressed his worries about what he'll tell Alexandria if Taylor ends up going to prison. Thorne confided to Stephanie his concern that he might not be able to fully let go of what happened. Stephanie advised him that he's been lucky twice in his life, and it may not happen again. Stephanie reassured Thorne not to be afraid and felt confident that he and Taylor could face their past together as they move forward with their future. After Stephanie left Thorne asked Darla for help in figuring things out. In jail, Taylor's guard complimented her on her attractive male guests. Taylor asked the guard what happened to her son after she called into Taylor's radio show. The guard explained that thanks to Taylor's advice she was able to accept her son's homosexuality. The guard thanked her for her help, and encouraged Taylor to think positively. Taylor confided her concerns about Shane to the guard. The guard told her she can't worry about things on the outside because it will only drive her crazy. Taylor re-read Alexandria's card and had fond thoughts of her, Thorne and Alexandria together.

Hector, Ridge, Harry and Phoebe rehashed Taylor's trial. Ridge warned Phoebe to stay away from Shane before he left to visit Taylor in jail. He told Phoebe to let Hector and Harry answer the door and phone. At Shane's, Storm reviewed his testimony for the next day. Shane daydreamed about making love to Phoebe. When Shane snapped out of it he showed Storm the door, and resolved to "get the celebration started." Shane called Phoebe on her cell. Phoebe told him she didn't think she could make it. A disappointed Shane asked her if she's blowing him off, but she said no. Worried that Shane may not finish testifying, Phoebe invited Shane to visit her at her place, which was amenable to Shane. Hector and Harry freaked out at Phoebe's actions. Phoebe insisted that Shane is not dangerous. Harry asked Phoebe if she likes Shane. On his way to Taylor's place, Shane got excited at the prospect of spending the night with Phoebe. He flashed back to the first time he met Phoebe, the night of Darla's accident. Phoebe went out to the pool to meet Shane, and told Harry to go back inside. Harry hid in the bushes when Shane arrived. Shane told her "their night" is finally here. Shane was disappointed that Phoebe wanted to drink only water, not champagne. When Shane began to kiss her, Phoebe pulled back. Shane asked her if she still looks at him like he's a freak. Shane professed his love to her and said it should mean something to her. When Shane started getting angry toward Phoebe, Harry jumped out from the bushes and punched Shane. Shane complained to Phoebe that this was supposed to be a special night for them, and cried that Phoebe is like everybody else — she doesn't care about him either. Shane and Harry fought and Shane punched him out cold. As Shane began to freak out on Phoebe, Hector arrived and swung his bat toward Shane. Not hearing anyone's voices afterward, Hector called out for Phoebe....

At jail, Thorne tried to encourage Taylor that her prospects remain hopeful. Taylor lamented that she's not home to keep Phoebe safe. Taylor and Thorne rehashed what happened with Darla and Taylor reiterated her feelings of guilt. Thorne insisted it was an accident. Ridge arrived to offer some moral support. Ridge complimented Thorne on his change of heart where Taylor and the accident are concerned. Storm arrived and said Shane seemed jumpy but expected that his testimony will still probably have a hugely positive impact on Taylor's case. After Ridge and Storm left Taylor thanked Thorne for his support and said that his support is what has sustained her and kept her afloat. Thorne said he won't let her drown. Taylor resolved to make the most of her life if she's given another chance at it.

Bridget paid Dante a visit. She told him there's something she has to tell him: She had a miscarriage. Dante consoled Bridget, who apologized for losing the baby. Bridget surmised that maybe it was for the best, considering Dante's relationship with Felicia. Dante reassured her that both he and Felicia wanted the baby.

At the courthouse, Hector and Harry resolved to keep Shane away from Phoebe. Shane arrived but was disappointed that Phoebe wasn't in a celebratory mood. Court was called into session. The prosecutor gave her opening remarks. Storm then gave his remarks. The prosecutor admitted Taylor's confession into evidence, despite Storm's overruled objections. The prosecutor then had Lt. Baker testify. When Storm cross-examined him he noted that Lt. Baker didn't perform a breathalyzer on Taylor, so there's no proof that she was drunk that night. When Shane testified, the prosecutor got him to acknowledge that he had been living at Taylor's since the accident. On re-direct, Storm got Shane to clarify to the jury that Taylor and Phoebe hired him and later took him in after his gardening accident without knowing that Shane had eyewitnessed the accident. Shane's testimony was interrupted by the judge, who said he had to adjourn the trial until tomorrow to tend to another matter. Phoebe freaked out because Shane hadn't completed his testimony. As she feared, Shane made a beeline to her, expecting her to live up to her end of their bargain and "celebrate" tonight....

Harry left Taylor's in frantic search of Phoebe. At Shane's place, Phoebe tried to tell Shane he can't make someone love him. Shane conceded that but said he could still try his best to make her love him over time. Phoebe asked where he got his photos of her. Shane said they had been lying in a shoebox. Phoebe upset Shane when she told him she'd changed her mind about dinner. Shane surmised she was freaked out about the photos she found. Shane asked Phoebe to trust him, and said that she's the kind of girl who deserves the very best, and declared that he's going to be giving it to her. Phoebe stalled and said with the pressure and worry over her mother's trial the next day, it's hard to feel romantic. Shane kissed her again but again Phoebe said she couldn't get into it. Harry interrupted their next kiss with a pounding on the door, and he demanded that Shane open the door ASAP. When Shane hesitated, Harry broke the door open. The two men argued over Phoebe, who told Shane she knows what she's doing. Phoebe asked Harry to leave. Shane asked Phoebe if she's just using him to acquit her mother, or if she's truly feeling something for him the way he feels something toward her. Harry left after giving Shane a parting threat. Phoebe told him that she is attracted to him, but she's young and doesn't know if she's ready for "all this." Phoebe promised to be in a better mood and willing to "celebrate" with Shane tomorrow after her mother was acquitted. Shane seemed amenable to the idea, and hugged her.

Thorne observed Alexandria drawing a picture. Alexandria told Thorne she missed Taylor and asked him when she's coming home. Alexandria gave Thorne her drawing to give to Taylor. Thorne debated Taylor's predicament in his mind as he gazed at Darla's photo. In jail, Taylor got upset thinking about Harry's words about Phoebe. Storm asked Taylor to call him last to the stand, but Taylor insisted he be called first to get his testimony over and done with ASAP. She also insisted that Phoebe not be called to the stand. Storm said she's got to let him do his job so she can get out of jail. Thorne arrived to see how things are progressing. After Storm left, Thorne asked her how she's holding up. Taylor expressed her worries about Shane to Thorne and whether the jury would find him to be a credible witness. Taylor said the fact that Thorne believes it was an accident is all that really matters to her. Thorne told Taylor that Darla wouldn't want her to be in jail, and delivered Alexandria's card/letter to Taylor. Taylor cried after reading it, and remarked how special she is, and Thorne is. Thorne asked Taylor if she would continue spending time with Alexandria like she used if/when she gets out of jail. Taylor said that she'd welcome the chance to do so. Thorne declared that he knew she would never hurt Darla intentionally. Taylor hugged Thorne.
