"How dare you come here?" Stephanie spat at Ann. Everyone was shocked when the saw Ann step into the entryway. Ridge ordered Thomas and Phoebe to take the younger kids into the kitchen. Nobody was happy to see their grandmother. "We didn't come here to disrupt your Christmas," Pamela said. Ann again apologized to Stephanie, but she told her mom to leave. Eric then announced that he was responsible for bringing Ann here and asked Stephanie to forgive her. Steph couldn't bring herself to do so and Ann confessed her failings as a mother in front of the entire family. Ridge declared she was wasting her breath. Ann suddenly became weak and collapsed on the sofa. After she regained her composure, she promised to leave and never come back. Taylor asked Stephanie if they could talk alone. Steph reluctantly agreed.

In the study, Stephanie refused to absolve Ann. "If you let your mother and your sister walk out of that door then Christmas is over," Taylor pointed out. "Show your children and grandchildren how to forgive." Despite Taylor's pleas, Stephanie refused. "I'm not strong enough," she admitted, then asked Taylor to go out and ask Ann to leave.

While Stephanie and Taylor were in the other room, Ridge, Thorne and Felicia thought their father's expectations were too high, but Eric maintained faith in his wife's capacity to forgive. "My mother is not the monster, my father is," Pamela noted and pointed out that this 30-year estrangement was just as hard on her mother as it was on Stephanie. Taylor emerged and asked Pamela and Ann to leave. As the women were departing, Eric began to play the piano. One by one the family members joined him in signing. Stephanie could hear her family's voices and went out to investigate. She watched Alexandria walk over and take her great-grandmother's hand. Stephanie sighed and approached Ann. "All right, Mother, all right," whispered Steph. "I forgive you." The women tearfully embraced.

The Forresters gathered to celebrate Christmas. As everyone mingled, Felicia urged Eric to "scrap" his plan to surprise Stephanie with a visit from Pamela and Ann but he was determined to go through with it. A gift basket from Pam arrived for Stephanie, which put her in a pensive mood. Bridget showed up and embraced Brooke, compelling Eric to remark about the power of the bond between mother and daughter. He then hoped that his wife would like the Christmas gift he arranged for her and Stephanie assured him that she would.

On the plane ride to L.A., Ann worried how Stephanie would receive them. "I want her back in my life," Ann sobbed about her daughter. "Your sister hates me and I don't blame her." After they landed, Ann predicted they would be back on the plane in no time. Pamela advised her mom not be so negative and hope for the best.

At Bridget's beach house, Shane gave Phoebe a jewelry box that he made himself "One day I'm going to fill that thing with diamonds for you," he vowed. "I'm determined to make something out of myself." Ridge called on his daughter's cell phone and asked where she was. Phoebe promised she would be over soon. She told Shane that hopefully he'll be celebrating next Christmas with her family too. They shared a warm kiss. Phoebe rushed over to her grandparents' house, where Ridge said he was worried about her but she gently told him not to.

Stephanie presented Alexandria with a photo album that Darla had started before she died. Grandma also offered a few pages that she had put together herself, which included a picture of Thorne and Taylor. Stephanie then thanked everyone for making this Christmas special. But all that fuzziness ended when Steph answered the door to find Ann and Pamela on the other side. Ann wished her daughter Merry Christmas but Stephanie was anything but merry. "You're not welcome here!" Steph huffed. "Pam, take her out of here."

Stephanie was a little surprised when she remembered some happier childhood Christmas memories. Felicia arrived to find her parents smooching. She asked if they were having sex again and they embarrassingly admitted they were. "Well, joyful all ye nations rise," Felicia chirped. Stephanie left to run a last-minute errand and Eric admitted to his daughter that he was going to invite Pamela and Ann for a visit. Felicia didn't think it was a good idea but Eric called his mother-in-law and asked her to come for Christmas. Ann was reluctant to accept but before she could say no, Eric announced that the pilot of his private plane will call her soon and hung up. Felicia predicted that Ann's visit would become, "a train wreck."

Ridge and Brooke read 'Twas The Night Before Christmas to Hope and R.J., and reveled in their togetherness for the holidays. Stephanie arrived and when Ridge left the room, she shared how thankful she was that Brooke was a part of the family. Brooke got teary-eyed and the ladies embraced. "This seems so unreal," Brooke gushed and Stephanie confirmed that she has learned a lot about herself this year. Brooke asked if Stephanie will ever be able to forgive her mother and La Forrester quickly said no.

Thorne and Taylor were unpacking the Christmas decorations when Alexandria came across Darla's stocking that was embroidered with "Mommy." The tyke handed it to Taylor. “You can use it if you want," she said. A touched Taylor explained that she had her own stocking but they should still hang up Darla's as a reminder that she's still a part of the family. While Alexandria was out of the living room, Thorne admitted that he missed Darla but was grateful that there wasn't any unfinished business between her and Alexandria — like there is with Stephanie and Ann.

As Jackie struggled to eavesdrop on Taylor and Nick's session, Nick recounted happier times with Captain Kramer. "He liked me," Nick noted, but Taylor reminded Nick that he mentioned earlier that he didn't want anything to do with the guy. Nick put up his guard again and Taylor prodded him to remember. "What happened, Nick?" she asked. He abruptly ended the session and announced they could pick up after Christmas. Once Taylor left, Jackie waltzed in and innocently asked how Nick's session went. "I always thought that digging around in someone's past in pointless," she said with a laugh, but her mood changed when Nick brought up Jerry Kramer's name. Jackie pretended to have a vague recollection of the man, but she got upset when Nick pushed for more details. "If Mr. Kramer was worth remembering, I'm sure you would!" Jackie pointed out sternly. She urged her son not to worry so much about the past.

Ridge repeated his concern to Thorne over Taylor counseling Nick. Thorne nicely pointed out that Taylor was his responsibility now so Ridge doesn't have to worry any longer. "I don't need any coaching," Thorne noted and then asked his brother to be his best man. Ridge accepted and they embraced.

Jackie showed up at Taylor's office and asked how therapy with Nick was going. The shrink said she couldn't answer that due to patient confidentiality. "If you want to do him some good, you'll help him get over Brooke," Jackie suggested. Taylor said she was taking her cue from Nick. Jackie became suspicious when Jackie told the shrink to stop "rooting around in the past." Meanwhile, Nick remembered when as a boy he found Captain Kramer waiting in his living room and ordered him to leave. "What is it?" Nick asked himself. "What did he do?"

Taylor announced to the Stephanie, Eric, Ridge and Felicia that she may be able to get Forrester Creations back through counseling Nick. "I'm determined to help him," she declared. Everyone was a little dubious about her goal but Taylor still wanted to give it a try. As she tried to leave for a meeting with Nick, Stephanie grabbed her arm."I don't think this is a good idea," Stephanie muttered. "I don't trust that son of a bitch." After Taylor was gone, Stephanie reiterated her concern. Thorne said that Nick wasn't a threat to his relationship with Taylor. Stephanie urged her son to set a wedding date.

Nick and Jackie were stressed over running Forrester. Jackie then asked her son about his sessions with Taylor and seemed surprised when he said he had an idyllic childhood. "That is how it was, right?" he asked his mother, who seemed quite pensive over the question. Jackie wondered why Nick would talk to Taylor if he wasn't interested in her romantically. He answered that he trusted her. Taylor arrived and after Jackie left, the doc asked about Nick's childhood. He became guarded and asked how Taylor felt when Ridge left her for Brooke. Taylor reminded that he was the patient but he pushed for an answer "My marriage falling apart is not the issue here," she insisted. Nick then asked if Taylor was marrying Thorne out of guilt over Darla's death. Taylor refused to answer and steered the session back to Nick. As Taylor brought up Captain Kramer, Nick fondly remembered the captain but suddenly recalled how he didn't want the old sea dog to come around anymore. Taylor pushed Nick to remember why that happened. Meanwhile, Jackie tried to eavesdrop through the door.
