At Jackie M, Brooke suggested to Nick that the reason Nick hadn't set a wedding date with Katie was because he wanted another chance with Bridget. She's dating Owen, a clearly annoyed Nick informed Brooke. And of course he had feelings for Bridget — "You don't marry someone twice because you ran out of ideas," he said. Leave Bridget alone, ordered Brooke, who then stopped by Katie's, and found her sister rattled about Bridget working with Nick. She wants to trust Nick, said Katie, but if he was trustworthy he wouldn't be with her, would he? It's karma if Nick still wants Bridget, sighed Katie — she was getting what she deserved. But a pep talk from Brooke lifted her spirits. She wasn't going to give Nick up, vowed Katie.

Bridget and Owen made out at his place, but Bridget stopped things before they could go too far, explaining that she wasn't ready to have sex — she wanted to feel safe in a relationship first. Owen was understanding and let her go with a kiss. Jackie arrived soon after, not terribly surprised the evening had ended early. "Romance isn't compatible with heavy chewing," she said when Owen told her he'd grilled steak. Owen suggested Bridget didn't want to rush things because she cared about him; Jackie was convinced it was because she wasn't over Nick. The conversation ended with Owen unbuttoning Jackie's outfit.

Nick found Bridget post-date at the office and asked how her evening went. It was very nice, replied Bridget. But very short, noted Nick. Dinner doesn't mean spending the night, snapped Bridget. "You were the biggest thing that ever happened to me, and I would rather have someone shoot me than let you happen to me again," said a shaken Bridget. Why couldn't Nick just let her go? "Because you're the best thing that ever happened to me," Nick answered. Every now and then in life when you make a mistake you get a chance to say you're sorry, said Nick. He's said he's sorry a million times and he never meant it, replied a tearful Bridget. She trusted him, but he was just a little boy who wanted it all. "I just wasn't man enough," agreed a rueful Nick. He apologized again, tenderly kissing Bridget, and left.
