Brooke's cell phone rang as she was in her room, packing her suitcase. It was Ridge, begging her not to leave for Paris. Brooke told him that his words were not enough, and that she was packed and ready to go. She asked Ridge to figure out what he wanted, and to prove it. In the meantime, she told him, she had made her decision, and this was good-bye. Brooke's sisters dropped by to see her. They asked her not to leave, insisting that they could work out a way to support their mom without her moving to Paris. Brooke explained that she really needed to move on with her life - without Ridge. Donna and Katie were in tears when they realized they could not talk her out of it. They promised to visit her at Forrester International. "This hasn't felt like home since Ridge left anyway," Brooke said to herself.

On the Forrester jet (which the company kept after the bump in sales from the Royalty campaign), Katie and Brooke discussed how although Brooke had succeeded in breaking up Ridge's wedding, he had stayed with Taylor. Katie begged Brooke to reconsider, but Brooke was determined to restart her life ... without Ridge.

In Jackie's office, Steffy dropped by to discuss Owen. Steffy said that she had run into Owen yesterday and that she was worried about him. Jackie was surprised to find out that Owen had filled Steffy in on the details of their problems. Steffy advised Jackie not to give up, that Owen was worth fighting for. Jackie told Steffy she was grateful that Owen had a vibrant, smart friend like her. She admitted that she just wanted what was best for Owen, and that she had no intention of holding him back from experiencing everything life had to offer. After Steffy left, Nick arrived to find his mother deep in thought. Jackie admitted to Nick that she loved Owen deeply. She broke down in tears, saying that although she cared so much for him, maybe she was not what was best for him. She described how beautiful and young he and Steffy had looked together. She shared her belief that he needed to be able to surf and have children and be carefree. She stated that she would end things, and let him go. Nick didn't think that would work, because they still loved each other.

Whip arrived at Owen's house to talk, and found him furious. Owen accused Whip of taking advantage of Jackie. "You saw an opportunity, and you took it! So don't act like you give a damn," he spat. Whip urged Owen to just get over the kiss, explaining that it had meant nothing. He advised Owen not to let Jackie go, that he would regret it if he did. After Whip left, Jackie arrived. She announced that she had made a decision about the rest of their lives. Owen claimed he had come to a decision as well. They kissed passionately, after which Owen told her that he loved her and wanted her back.

Thorne came by Ridge's office and implored him not to let Brooke leave. "Don't be a fool, man!" he told his brother. Ridge admitted he was confused, and didn't know what to do. Thorne couldn't believe that he was going to just let Brooke fly right out of his life. R.J. and Ally ran into Ridge's office and R.J. begged his father to let them all be together. "Just do it, Ridge!" Thorne pressed. He advised his brother to give Brooke one more shot. "Get it right, Ridge! If you don't, it'll be the biggest mistake of your life." Ridge snapped to attention, and began ordering Thorne to help him with a plan. A few minutes later, a sunglasses-clad Ridge was on the beach, declaring that his plan HAD to work ... that he must not lose Brooke.
