DAYS Recaps Week of Aug. 8, 2005Friday, August 12, 2005 Despite the fact that she knows Nicole is outside her living room window on the fire escape watching, Sami rolls around on the sofa with Lucas, eager to make love to him. Nicole grimaces in disgust as she peers in at them. Fortunately, Nicole is spared seeing them go all the way, when Kate knocks on the door. Lucas quickly shuns his mother, delighting Sami. When Kate leaves, Sami and Lucas get back to planning their wedding. Suddenly, Sami hears a crash outside, rushes to the window, and sees a drunk Nicole has fallen off the fire escape. With Nicole out of her hair, at least for now, Sami goes back to giving Lucas her full attention. Sami announces that she wants to give Lucas a great wedding gift and asks what he wants. Lucas can only think of one thing: information about Stan. Lucas goes off on the traitor. He says he's determined to track Stan down and put him away for a long time. Sami, who IS/WAS Stan, can't help but panic. When Kate gets down to the street, she spots Nicole lying in the gutter. Kate taunts Nicole about losing Brady to Chloe, and Nicole taunts Kate about her woes with Roman. Kate wonders how Nicole knows so much about her troubled marriage. That is, unless Sami told her. Kate wonders what's going on between Sami and Nicole. She suspects Nicole might have dirt on Sami and offers to pay top dollar for it. Nicole insists she doesn't, takes a swig from her flask, and then blurts out that Sami still has secrets. Nicole takes off, before Kate can probe her further. No matter, Kate vows to get the goods Nicole has on Sami and destroy her. On Tony's island, Patrick talks into his radio and reports that he'll be ready when Bo gets there. When Billie appears, Patrick heads off to check the surroundings. An angry Bo sneaks up behind Billie and demands to know what she's doing there. He told her not to follow him. It's too dangerous. Bo gets even more upset when he learns Billie brought Patrick with her. Patrick swears he's there to help, but Bo refuses to let him take part in Hope's rescue mission. When Billie heads off on reconnaissance, Bo holds Patrick at gunpoint. Patrick overpowers Bo and knocks him out, just as one of Tony's henchmen arrives on the scene.
Bart hauls Hope in to see Tony, and he explains that Bo is about to fall into his trap and become his next captive. While they wait for Bo's arrival, Tony agrees to Hope's request to visit with Victor and Caroline. The threesome have a touching reunion, but they can't stop worrying about Bo. Moments later, Bart brings Hope back to Tony. Hope is shocked when Tony's minions bring in Patrick. Patrick says Tony can call them off, since he's still loyal to the DiMera organization. To prove it, Patrick produces the one thing Tony wants: an unconscious and handcuffed Bo. Hope rushes to her husband's side.
Thursday, August 11, 2005 Jennifer is suspicious when she catches Jack going over life insurance documents and his will. Jack explains that he wants to make sure all the paperwork is in order. After being "dead" as many times as he has, Jack needs to know that his family will be well taken care of in the event something REALLY happens to him. Not quite buying all of it, Jennifer questions Jack about his health. "Is there something wrong with you?" she asks. Jack sidesteps the question, puts on the CD player, and asks Jennifer to dance to "Stand By Me" — Frankie and Jennifer's old song. Frankie hears the music, walks by, and watches Jack and Jennifer through the window, imagining himself holding Jennifer in his arms. Chelsea and Abby arrive at the Java Cafe. Chelsea tells Abby she has a surprise for her: a guy named Josh. Chelsea sends Abby to introduce herself to Josh, who's adorable; then, she heads over to Kate's table and asks her for a job at Basic Black. Instead of winning Kate over, Chelsea insults her, telling Kate the company's designs are "too much then and not enough now." That's why Basic Black needs someone young like Chelsea aboard. Kate tells Chelsea to take a hike. When Lucas arrives, Kate goes over to talk to her son. Bad idea! Lucas has it out with Kate about conspiring against Sami and trying to ruin his life. He calls Kate a bitch and leaves. The ever-resilient Kate vows to bring Sami down, one more time. Abby returns to Chelsea and they chat about Josh. Chelsea admits he isn't exactly her type, since he's a bit of a geek. Unfortunately, Josh delivers the girls drinks at that moment and overhears. Chelsea tells Abby not to worry. She'll find her another guy. Instead, Abby decides to salvage things with Josh, handing him her cell phone number and explaining that she doesn't share Chelsea's opinion of him. Sami, who's happy as a clam about her reconciliation with Lucas, dances around her apartment, waving her wedding dress through the air. Her joy comes to an abrupt end when Nicole shows up and demands that Sami makes good on her promise to help Nicole win Brady back. Sami tries to get out of it, telling Nicole it's impossible. Brady loves Chloe. Then, there's the little fact that Nicole's husband, Victor, is probably still alive. Sami encourages Nicole to clean out Victor's bank account and make a run for it, before Victor returns from the dead and Brady finds out what she did to Chloe. Nicole tells Sami, if she goes down, she's taking Sami with her. Nicole threatens to tell Lucas all about Sami's masquerade as Stan. Spying Lucas out the window, Sami realizes she has no choice but to help Nicole. Sami pushes Nicole out the window onto the fire escape, just as Lucas enters the apartment. Chloe leafs through a bride's magazine looking for wedding gowns, and shows Brady one that she likes. When he says she's going to look gorgeous in it, she imagines herself all dressed up, but with scars on her face, and freaks out. Chloe says she can't saddle Brady with a wife that looks like a sideshow freak. Especially since he's the CEO of Basic Black. It would be career suicide. Brady has a solution: he'll resign his CEO position. Brady explains that it's only a job, while Chloe is his life. The most important thing is that he and Chloe are together. Chloe wonders how she got so lucky to fall in love with a man like Brady. They kiss and go back to planning their wedding.
Wednesday, August 10, 2005 Shawn tries to talk Belle out of ending their relationship, but she holds firm. She's married to Philip and sticking by him; especially now that she's pregnant with his child. Shawn threatens to tell Philip he's still in love with Belle. Belle swears that if he does, she'll never speak to him again. A teary-eyed Belle tells Shawn goodbye and returns to the loft and her husband. Mimi, realizing that Belle was up on the roof with Shawn, heads up to find him. Mimi takes Shawn in her arms and offers him a comforting hug. When Billie and Patrick return home, Billie checks in with the ISA, since there are no messages from Bo about his search for Tony. Suddenly, Bo calls and tells Billie that Hope has been kidnaped by Tony, and he'll need Billie's help to find her. However, he does NOT want Billie joining him on the search. It's too dangerous. Billie agrees; then, hangs up and tells Patrick she's going off to find Bo. Patrick insists he's going with her. Bart emerges covered in slop and tells Tony that Hope tossed her dinner all at him. Prisoners Caroline and Victor are brought into Tony's quarters, where he takes great delight in telling them his plan: he's taken Hope hostage and is using her as bait to lure Bo to their destination. Tony's intention is to destroy love in Salem and he'll do it by killing either Hope or Bo. Victor and Caroline are mortified. Things get worse when they see Bo's boat arrive on the island via a monitor, and Tony instructs Bart to have their men greet him with a bullet. "Shoot to kill!" instructs Tony. The Bickersons, aka Kate and Roman, are at it, again — spatting about what Kate did to Sami and Lucas and Roman's "affair" with Marlena. Kate tells Roman that she WON'T be waiting for him, if Marlena doesn't choose him when she regains her memory. Kate runs into Billie and spills her guts about the sorry state of her life. Namely, that Sami exposed Kate for setting her up with Brandon and that Roman is now furious with her. Although Billie doesn't agree with Kate's actions, she comforts her mother. Then, Billie tells Kate that she's heading off to rescue Bo and Hope. Kate thinks it's a bad idea, but Billie is determined. Alex explains to John that the reason Marlena remembers him, and not John or Roman, is because Alex is the only person she feels safe with. Alex insists that Marlena cannot handle the pressure her loved ones are putting on her to remember them and suggests taking her out of Salem for treatment. When Roman arrives, Alex tells him and John that he has had great success treating other amnesiacs in seclusion. John finally agrees to Alex's idea and says he'll pack his and Marlena's bags, so they'll be ready to go. Alex tells John, he's misunderstood. The only people going on this trip will be Marlena and Alex. Although John isn't thrilled by the scenario, he agrees to let Alex take Marlena away, if it will mean eventually getting his wife back. Alone, Alex announces that now that he has John's permission, it's time Marlena realized who she really is.
Tuesday, August 9, 2005 Philip wakes up and frets when he can't find Belle. He makes his way out to the hallway where he runs into Mimi, who goes off on another "Belle ruined my life by blabbing about my abortion so loudly that Rex overheard" tirade. Philip listens, defends his wife, and then asks Mimi to help him up to the roof. He's sure that's where Belle is. Mimi convinces Philip that Belle probably went for a walk or to the hospital to check on her mom. Philip invites Mimi into the loft, where they chat and he attempts playing matchmaker. Philip points out that Mimi and Shawn are both in the same position, single and alone, and Mimi did once have a major crush on him. (Who needs eHarmony when you have a friend like Philip!) Mimi realizes what Philip is up to, but tells him THAT'S one romance that will never happen. Sami makes the mistake of bringing up Kate's name while romping between the sheets with Lucas. Angry, Lucas says she's ruined the mood and hightails it out of bed. But he quickly returns, saying all is forgiven and bearing a tray filled with ice cream and all the fixings. Before they indulge in a little vanilla and chocolate, Sami and Lucas decide to indulge in each other and climb back into bed. Afterwards, Lucas prepares two gooey sundaes for him and Sami. When they're through devouring them, they return to bed WITH a can of whipped cream. Marlena shocks John and Roman when she announces that she remembers Alex and NOT either of them. Needless to say, the two men are upset. Things get worse when Marlena says she wants to be alone WITH ALEX, he's the only man she trusts. Alex comforts Marlena and tells her she doesn't really remember him. She's just projecting him into her suppressed memories of John or Roman, because he's the only man who isn't pressuring her. Alex says Marlena's love for John and Roman is the root of all her troubles. Outside Marlena's hospital room, John and Roman run into Kate. John explains the latest on Doc's condition: she remembers Alex. Roman, who's still furious with Kate, tells John how she set up Sami. When John rushes to Kate's defense, going off on what a brat Sami is, Roman suggests that maybe John would be better off with Kate. John, in turn, accuses Roman of wanting to be with Marlena. When John leaves to check on Marlena, Kate blasts Roman for offering her up to John "like a piece of property" and accuses him of using Sami to get out of their marriage. Kate wonders if Roman is waiting to see if Marlena regains her memory and remembers loving him and not John. Meanwhile, John asks Alex, "Why does my wife remember you and not me or Roman?"
Monday, August 8, 2005 Lucas apologizes to Sami for taking his mom's word over hers, yet asks Sami for her engagement ring back. Sami's devastated and perplexed, until Lucas asks her two questions: Will Sami forgive him for not trusting her or their love? And will she marry him? "Yes! Yes!" says a jubilant Sami, announcing that there's just one thing left to do: have incredible make-up sex! The pair go at it full speed until they break the bed and both delight how THAT makes everything absolutely perfect. John wakens Marlena and shows her all the goodies he's compiled from his travels — a lei from Hawaii, her mother's famous cookies ...John's certain they'll trigger Doc's memory, but she's as confused as ever and begs John to take them all away. Alex tells John he's upsetting his wife and needs to leave. Reluctantly, John agrees. An angry Abe is suspicious when he overhears Tek ask if Lexie is on duty. Why does Tek want to see HIS wife? Lexie emerges and says Tek is visiting John and Marlena, like Abe is. Alone with her husband, Lexie tells Abe that she's tired of talking about Tek and fighting with him. John interrupts. He wants Abe's advice about Marlena. Before they can chat, Alex shows up and John introduces him to Abe. Abe recognizes Alex's name and voice and swears he knows the shrink. John laments that he was sure one of the things he brought Doc would have stirred her memory, since each represented an important point in her life. Alex mentions one point in Marlena life that's been overlooked, but leaves to make a phone call before he can explain. Abe wonders if John can trust Alex. Tek comforts Lexie about her crumbling marriage to Abe and the fact that the poor guy is blind, lost his job, and is impotent. Tek tells Lexie she's a strong, vital woman, who shouldn't have to put up with Abe's attitude. Tek takes Lexie in his arms and tells her he loves her. They kiss passionately, start undressing, and within seconds are going at it on a hospital bed. Afterwards, Tek tells Lexie that she should leave Abe. A guilty Lexie says their little tryst never should have happened, bolts out the door, and runs smack into Abe. He wants a ride home. Lexie says she can't take him, she's with a patient. Roman argues with Kate about breaking up Sami and Lucas. Kate insists it was for the best. If she had to do it all over again, she would. Roman's shocked. Love is about trust. How can they have either if she lies to him all the time? Kate brings up all the secrets Roman kept from her, like sleeping with Marlena and getting her pregnant. Roman admits he was wrong, but the difference is he has remorse. Kate doesn't, and that's why they are over. As Roman leaves his cell phone rings, and it's Alex. He wants Roman to come to the hospital. He's going to conduct an experiment to help Marlena and needs Roman's input. At the hospital, John tells Alex that he's disappointed. Alex isn't doing much to help Marlena regain her memory. Alex says it will take time. John insists on specifics. HOW is Alex going to help Marlena? Roman shows up and says, "Through me." A testy John doesn't want Roman anywhere near his wife. Alex tells the men that they need to put everything else aside and do what’s best for Marlena. Alex takes John and Roman into Marlena's room, where she awakens and says, "I remember you."
