Sami found Carrie crying alone in Lexie's office. Sami played dumb and assumed Carrie wanted to be with Austin and said Carrie didn't have to honor the previous promise she made to her. Carrie flashbacked on Lexie telling her if she and Austin had a baby, there is a high chance their baby could have a severe birth defect. Carrie cried that she could never be with Austin and ran out. Lexie returned and beat herself up for lying to Carrie. Sami reminded Lexie that she has done worse in her life and this will help her keep her husband and son. Carrie saw a happy couple with their baby and cried some more. Sami came upon Carrie and they saw a baby being rushed in who had a genetic problem and the parents grieving for their lost child. Carrie rushed off, while Sami broke into the records room. Lexie caught her in there and flipped over what Sami was doing. Lexie later found Carrie crying over the other couple's situation and Carrie realized she couldn't bring a baby into the world with Austin. Lexie told Carrie to give herself time and not to make any hasty decisions. Then Lexie went over to Sami and whispered Sami was going to Hell for this. Carrie left a message for Austin, saying she wanted to talk to him about their future, which worried Sami.

John found Marlena unconscious in her hospital room. Lexie rushed in to helped her and Abe held John back from attacking Alex outside her room. Lexie said Marlena was going to be fine but needed rest, so everyone had to leave her alone. Abe wondered why Lexie was acting so strange. John told Alex that Marlena is going to remember their love and Alex will then be gone. Alex remembered his previous conversation with Marlena where she revealed that she does remember everything. John, Abe and Alex went into Marlena's room and John asked her if she remembered their life together. Marlena said she had no memory of John whatsoever, just her husband Alex. Alex flashbacked on injecting Marlena with a memory-erasing drug. John wondered why she asked to see him and Marlena didn't know. Alex then revealed that he and Marlena will still be renewing their vows the next day. John vowed to Abe that Alex's wedding day was also going to be his funeral.

Jennifer and Frankie arrived at Shawn and Mimi's wedding and Jennifer remembered her first wedding to Jack. Meanwhile, Bonnie chugged some holy water and Kate told her to calm down. Father Jansen resumed the ceremony at the "does anyone have objections" part and everyone held their breath to see what Belle would do. Belle clutched little Claire as the ceremony continued. Mimi and Shawn lit their unity candle and joined hands. Frankie reached for Jennifer's hand and she recalled Jack's wedding vows to her and hers to him. Then she envisioned marrying Frankie and wondered if she was doing the right thing. She then dreamed of Jack being in the pew and told him she needed a sign to know if he wants her with Frankie. Shawn and Mimi then said their "I do"s, exchanged rings and were pronounced husband and wife while a tearful Belle looked on. At the reception at Chez Rouge, Belle wanted to take Claire home but Philip told her to stay and encouraged her to have fun. Philip went to get Claire a bottle, and Caroline approached Belle and told her she knew how hard the wedding was on Belle. Belle said she didn't stop the wedding because of Claire and she maintained she could make her own marriage work. Victor and Kate discussed Claire's true paternity for the umpteenth time and Kate insisted that they keep the secret. Shawn and Mimi danced and kissed, then Mimi talked to Bonnie about how guilty she felt. Shawn thanked Belle for bringing Claire to the reception. Shawn and Mimi danced and kissed some more, then Philip offered up the "best family" toast. Belle started crying again and rushed out.

Jennifer told Frankie that she was upset because she found her wedding gown and it reminded her of Jack. She berated herself for spending time with Frankie, when she should be mourning her "dead" husband. Frankie said that Jennifer owed it to herself to move on and that Jack wanted him to take care of her. Jennifer insisted that spending time with Frankie was betraying Jack. Frankie suggested leaving, but Jennifer wouldn't hear of it. She was confused by her growing feelings for him. Frankie admitted he had feelings for Jennife, too. She was and is the only woman he's ever wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Frankie asked if Jennifer had room in her heart for him. She said she might, but couldn't tell him when she'd be ready to move on. Frankie vowed to give Jennifer as much time as she needed.

Sami gave Lexie an ultimatum: make sure Carrie didn't choose Austin, or Sami would see to it that Lexie's life with Abe and Theo was history. Meanwhile, in Carrie's hospital room, Austin urged Carrie to choose between him and Lucas. Lexie interrupted and took Carrie off to sign her discharge papers. Sami asked Lucas and Austin who Carrie chose and said that she was rooting for Austin, because he and Carrie loved each other. Lucas didn't buy it and accused Sami of setting her sights on Austin. Austin told Lucas that he was being too hard on Sami. Sami knew how Austin felt about Carrie AND that he and Sami were just friends. True, said Sami. Lucas, however, knew Sami was up to something.

Lexie asked Carrie if she'd decided between Lucas and Austin. Carrie said that she had: It was Austin. Lexie said that was a mistake. She'd done genetic testing on Carrie and discovered something disturbing: she and Austin shared a marker that could be problematic. If they had a child together, he or she could have severe birth defects. Lexie warned that Austin was the last man that Carrie should conceive a child with.

Roman asked John why he hadn't told him about Marlena's accident. John said because it WASN'T an accident and he'd been trying to prove that Alex arranged the explosion at Lois' cabin. Roman questioned whether Alex was truly evil or if John was just jealous and angry at the man who stole Marlena from him. "The man's a killer," insisted John. Roman left for Shawn's wedding, but made John promise to call him if any trouble came up. A nurse approached John and asked if he had gotten her message that Marlena wanted to see him, and John rushed off to her room.

Marlena told Alex that she regained her memory. John was right about him all along. Alex not only stole Marlena's past, but tried to snatch her future. Alex insisted that he told Marlena the truth: they were married and still are. "Not for long," snapped Marlena. Alex squeezed Marlena's hand tightly, and she said he was hurting her. Marlena told Alex that she was going to divorce him, but Alex said he wouldn't allow it. He asked if Marlena remembered the price she paid for disobeying him in the past. Cut to a flashback of a bloody, battered Marlena begging for mercy. Marlena accused Alex of killing Lois, and he admitted that he did. Frightened, Marlena tried to turn things around by saying that she knew Alex would never hurt her and that her so-called memories obviously weren't real. Alex didn't buy it. He knew Marlena was lying. Now, she was going to have to die. When John arrived, Alex was gone, Marlena was lying off the side of her bed, and her monitor was sounding, loudly.

Belle stopped Shawn and Mimi's wedding, shocking everyone except Shawn, who knew exactly why. He turned to Chelsea and asked, "What are you doing here?" He lit into Chelsea about how he didn't have a family any more, thanks to her. Shawn asked Bo to throw out the little brat. Bo said that he would escort Chelsea out, which hurt Shawn, who wanted his dad at the ceremony. Outside, Bo and Billie yelled at Chelsea for crashing Shawn's wedding. When Bo went to get his car, Billie accused Chelsea of trying to drive a wedge between Bo and every member of his family. Chelsea admitted that she would do whatever it took to stay out of jail and didn't care who suffered.

Back in St. Luke's, Mimi admitted that she thought Belle stopped the wedding because she didn't want her to marry Shawn. Belle thought about 'fessing up, but didn't, as Kate and Bonnie laid more guilt on her. Shawn and Mimi's wedding resumed, as Father Jansen asked, "If anyone here has reason why these two should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace."

Jennifer came downstairs all gussied up and ready to go to Shawn and Mimi's wedding and told Frankie that she wanted to talk to him about their night at Chez Rouge. Jennifer insisted that she wanted to take things slowly, and Frankie agreed, before presenting her with a gift: a wrist corsage. Jennifer said it looked like one Frankie had given her when they were in high school. Jennifer put it on; then, headed upstairs to fetch her purse. When Jennifer opened her closet, she gasped, "Oh God!" Frankie raced upstairs to see what was wrong, but Jennifer didn't want to see him. Instead, she clung to a big box and sobbed.

An appalled Lexie told Sami that she couldn't "play God with Carrie's life," insisting she had no idea which man Carrie was going to choose. Lexie mentioned how much Sami and Lucas loved each other and encouraged Sami to work things out with her ex. Lexie pointed out that Sami only wanted Austin to spite Lucas and Carrie. Of course, Sami denied it, noting that Lucas would never forgive her, so her only chance at happiness was with Austin.

Austin and Lucas waited for Carrie to announce her decision between the two of them, which dragged on for the ENTIRE episode. Carrie said that she'd tried to picture her future while sitting in her hospital bed. She imagined being in bed on a Sunday morning and waking up to the smell of coffee, when the man she loved came in. "The minute he walked in, I knew I was home," announced Carrie. "Who did you see?" asked an anxious Lucas. Carrie remembered Austin, but, still, didn't say a word.

John told Abe he would rip Alex's head off if he went near Marlena, again. Abe suggested that he and John work on getting proof to convince Marlena that Alex was dangerous. In the interim, they both agreed it would be dangerous if Marlena got her memory back while she was alone with Alex. In Marlena's hospital room, Alex hovered over her bed as she muttered on about remembering him and how he'd abused her. Marlena also remembered Lexie reintroducing Alex to her in the hospital and their decision to renew their vows, as well as her deep feelings for John. "John is the man I love. I've got to tell him," muttered Marlena, calling for a nurse to find John, as Alex quickly hid. When the nurse left, Alex returned to Marlena's beside. Marlena told Alex that she remembered him, but didn't love him. She loved John. "What a pity, my dear, for you," responded Alex.

Mimi walked down the aisle to Shawn and their wedding began, as Bonnie fretted about Belle ruining everything. Kate said she did all she could to neutralize Belle and recalled laying it on thick about abandoning her own children, years ago, and how fortunate Claire was that that would never happen to her. Belle, however, remained determined to stop the ceremony. After Shawn thanked all the wedding guests for attending his and Mimi's special day, Mimi singled out Belle, specifically. She thanked her best friend for her love and support and always being there. Maggie gave a reading, followed by Philip, who announced that Belle had a few words to say, too. Belle read a passage and, then, Father Jansen got to the "speak now or forever hold your peace" part of the ceremony. Kate and Bonnie held their breath. After a moment of silence, Father Jansen began the final vows. Suddenly, Belle yelled, "Wait! This wedding has to stop."

Sami told a shocked Lexie that she saw her and Tek "going at it" in the park and outside Lexie's office door. Lexie told Sami that she was making a big deal out of nothing. Abe knew she and Tek were friends. Sami wouldn't be swayed and said that Lexie would lose everything, including custody of Theo, if Abe found out about her affair. If Lexie didn't want Sami to talk, she had better do what Sami wanted: namely, help her land Austin. When Lexie said she couldn't, Sami threatened to spill all to Abe.

Lucas implored Carrie to let him and Austin talk to her before she decided which man she wanted a future with. Austin went first. He and Carrie talked and laughed as they reminisced about their past. Austin professed his deep love for Carrie and said that they belonged together. Lucas interrupted, as Austin left, vowing he'd always love Carrie. Then, Lucas professed his love for Carrie, noting that it was based on honesty and trust, and promised never to hurt her. Afterwards, Austin and Lucas went to Carrie's bedside, and she prepared to make her choice.

Billie arrived at Bo's house, where he was preparing for Shawn's wedding. Billie couldn't believe that Hope wouldn't be there. Bo explained that Shawn hadn't told his mother that he'd moved up the date of his nuptials, because he knew Hope needed time away. Bo wished he knew a way to contact Hope, and Billie said that perhaps there was: their strong mental connection. Billie encouraged Bo to send out vibes to Hope. Bo beseeched Hope to know that Shawn was getting married today and needed her. That is, until Chelsea bursted in determined to stop the psychic connection. Bo left, and Chelsea laced into Billie. "You are supposed to be doing everything you can to make sure that Bo and Hope DON'T get back together, not trying to convince him to send her some weird vibe so she'll come home," scolded Chelsea.

On Morgan Island, Patrick encouraged Hope to call Bo, so they could talk and try to work things out. After some protesting, Hope gave in and phoned home. As fate would have it, Chelsea ended up answering. She told Hope that Billie and Bo were out working on her defense and had been inseparable since Hope was gone. Hope hung up and broke down in tears. If what Chelsea said was true, Hope and Bo couldn't have a future together.

Shawn and Philip arrived at St. Luke's, and Shawn remembered Belle begging him not to marry Mimi. Meanwhile, Bonnie fretted about the possibility of Belle ruining Mimi's special day, as Kate tried to assuage her fears. In the bride's room, Mimi had pre-wedding jitters, but told Belle she was 100 percent sure about marrying Shawn. Yet, Belle announced, "I can't let you do this." Bonnie and Kate interrupted, and Belle left. Bonnie told Mimi that Belle was a time bomb ready to destroy her wedding. Kate suggested getting Belle off the premises, but Mimi pointed out that they couldn't, since Belle was her matron of honor. Bonnie gave Mimi a something old, new, borrowed and blue. Then, Mimi had one of her pangs of guilt about starting her marriage with a lie. "Lies are the price every woman has to pay to make her marriage work," noted Bonnie.

Caroline ran into Belle en route to delivering Mimi's bridal gown. Belle said she was determined to stop the ceremony. In fact, when Father Jansen asked if anyone objected to Mimi and Shawn marrying, she planned to stand up and say she loved Shawn. Caroline suggested that Belle level with Philip first, then urged her to think of her little girl. Belle found Philip and told him that they had to talk, but Kate put a stop to it by pulling her son away. Shawn returned from chatting with Father Jansen about his and Mimi's vows and told Philip they were nixing the "obey" part. Bo arrived and wished Shawn well.

Finally, the organist began playing, and Mimi emerged in her bridal gown. As the wedding march played, Bonnie proudly walked Mimi down the aisle to an awaiting Shawn.

Austin and Lucas showed up to visit an ailing Carrie at the hospital and argued about who was going to land her. Meanwhile, inside Carrie's room, she and Lexie discussed the scar tissue that might make it difficult for Carrie to conceive a child. Lexie urged Carrie not to put off getting pregnant and to make her choice between Lucas and Austin. As Sami listened outside, Carrie admitted she was torn.

Outside Marlena's room, John paced back and forth and insisted that Alex caused the explosion at Lois' cabin. Abe tried to calm down John, to no avail. When Belle arrived, John took his daughter out for a cup of coffee. Belle confessed that she still loved Shawn and didn't think she could stand by and watch him marry Mimi. John told Belle that she was married to Philip now, and couldn't keep chasing after "what used to be."

Marlena came to and muttered, "I remember us ... I love you, John," to a stunned Alex. Realizing he had to act quick, Alex left, let himself into Lexie's office, and swiped some keys from her desk. Abe nearly caught him, but Alex talked his way out of it. Meanwhile, Marlena continued having fabulous flashbacks of her and John over the years — smooching in a lagoon, sharing a bubble bath, making love, John holding baby Belle for the first time. Marlena awakened and told Lexie that she remembered everything. Lexie insisted that Marlena needed to rest; then, gave her a mild sedative and left. Soon, Alex returned and stood over Marlena's bedside looking rather menacing, as Marlena muttered on about how she remembered EVERYTHING. Particularly, that John was the love of her life.

Lexie headed to her office, where sexy Tek awaited and began kissing her. Lexie scolded him, saying that they were in a public place. Lexie entered her office to find Sami sitting at her desk. Sami said she wanted to talk about Carrie and confessed that she'd been eavesdropping on Lexie's conversation with her sister earlier. "You told Carrie that she has to have a child, pronto. Look, I just want to know who she's going to choose, Austin or Lucas," noted Sami. Outraged, Lexie refused to talk. So Sami threatened to reveal Lexie's affair with Tek to Abe.

Back in Carrie's room, a nurse told her that she had two handsome gentlemen waiting to see her. Carrie asked for her purse and looked at pictures of her and Lucas and her and Austin. Later, she emerged from her hospital bed and found Austin and Lucas in the corridor. "I have something I need to talk to you both about," announced Carrie.

Bonnie and Mimi arrived at Mimi's apartment, where Mimi shared her fears that Belle was going to stop her wedding to Shawn. Wacky Bonnie suggested roping and hog-tying Belle and, of course, had a fantasy about it. Kate had a better idea. She told Mimi to call Belle to come over, pronto, so Mimi could work on Belle's "incredibly guilty conscience." Soon, Belle arrived and Mimi asked everyone to leave, so they could speak alone. Then, Mimi went to work on Belle, giving her matron of honor a photo album filled with pictures of Belle, Philip and Claire. Mimi went on about what a perfect family Belle had. Mimi told Belle how happy she was and how she owed it all to her. If Belle hadn't fallen in love with Philip, Mimi would never be embarking on living happily ever after with Shawn. As Belle grew more and more uncomfortable, Kate and Bonnie, who were eavesdropping in the hallway, were thrilled that their plan was working.
