Tek and Lexie's rendezvous was cut short when Lexie stopped him. She was tired of all the lying. Tek calmed her down and they continued their love session. Back at the Brady Pub, Abe called the hospital looking for Lexie but she wasn't there. He began to worry. He then found an envelope addressed to him, left by the mysterious gloved figure. He opened it up and walked out of the pub with no explanation. Abe showed up at the hotel, telling a hotel employee he got a note from his wife to meet her there. She handed him the room key and Abe walked in to find Lexie in bed with Tek!

Holly was happy to hear Shawn and Mimi had picked her to be their surrogate. Mimi, on the other hand, was having some hesitations. Philip couldn't understand how the test could show he had a low sperm count when it was so easy for them to conceive Claire. The fantastic four later arrived at the pub and Shawn was disgusted by Bo's drunkenness, deciding not to tell him about Mimi's miscarriage. Shawn and Mimi told Philip and Belle the news about Holly the surrogate and how great she was. More like too great to be true: Holly was also at the pub with a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other! They confronted Holly. She tried to explain that she just wanted to party one last time before she got pregnant with their baby. Shawn told her she wouldn't be carrying their baby anymore!

At the pub, Kate inquired about Sami's whereabouts. Austin explained she didn't feel comfortable coming. Kate said she didn't want Austin to get hurt again but he said Sami had changed and to butt out. Kate told Austin and Billie they'd regret not taking her advice. Since Sami didn't want to go to the pub, E.J. suggested they have a night out as friends. Conveniently, they were standing on the docks where a tango competition was being held. Even more conveniently, E.J. was an expert tango dancer. They put on a great performance, winning the competition and a round of applause, not to mention an A+ from Kate, who was watching from a distance with her scorecard.

Patrick showed up at the pub and a drunk Bo accused him of stealing the evidence as a way to get closer to Hope. Fortunately, Abe and Frankie were able to break it up before their verbal sparring got violent. Billie pulled Patrick aside and told him she believed in Bo's innocence. Why? So she could get him back? Billie said she wasn't going to come between Bo and Hope and that Patrick shouldn't either. Frankie told Bo that Hope signed the divorce papers. Bo told him he had to help stop the divorce proceedings.

Hope and Kayla helped Jennifer take the gifts back to her place. Kayla was having difficulty being back in Salem because of all the memories of Steve. Jen had the perfect remedy: ice cream! Unfortunately ice cream wasn't what the doctor ordered in Hope's case. She thanked the two for trying to make her feel better and left. Jen turned on the radio and "The Rose" was playing — Steve and Kayla's song. Meanwhile, Jack explained to Steve that once he saw his family he would remember his life. The doctor agreed and advised Jack go home because it could be good for him emotionally to say goodbye. Steve and Jack began their journey back to Salem. "The Rose" began playing on the car radio and Steve said he always liked that song but didn't know why. Jack then pulled out his wallet showing Steve his wedding picture to Kayla. Steve didn't recognize it. Back at Jen's, Kayla told Jen about this fantasy she always had of Steve showing up and ringing the doorbell. Talk about foreshadowing — Ding dong! Jen went to answer the door and was shocked by who she found! While walking home alone, Hope was grabbed by the mysterious gloved figure!

Mimi and Shawn agreed they'd like to adopt one day but the waiting list was just so long. Shawn suggested they explore surrogacy and take the next step. They began looking at profiles and were surprised to learn the woman they chose, Holly, was at the hospital getting a checkup. The doctor had her come in and Mimi and Shawn were introduced to her. Shawn thought she was nice and chipper. When Shawn asked what Mimi thought, she began to cry. After drying her tears she told Shawn, "Let's go for it. Holly's the one." They then told Holly the good news.

Billie and Abe ran into each at the park. Billie was worried about Bo's future. Abe said Bo could lose his badge and even get jail time and worst of all, he's going to lose Hope. Billie couldn't understand why Hope doesn't realize how much Bo loves her. Chelsea celebrated her freedom by drinking from a flask with Max and expressing how grateful she was to her father. Max accused Chelsea of tampering with the evidence herself. Chelsea denied his accusations, hoping that Bo and Billie would now get back together so they'd be one big happy family. Abby showed up saying she wasn't in the mood to go to Jennifer and Frankie's party but Max and Chelsea were. To Billie's dismay Chelsea showed up at the pub with Max drunk and with Abby at her side. After Abby expressed her disapproval of the wedding to Jennifer and Chelsea received a few dirty looks from Hope, Max escorted the two gals out.

Tek and Lexie made their way into Tek's hotel room, and of course, headed right to the bed. Before any clothes came off, Lexie jumped up, saying she couldn't do it. She had to go to Jen's party and didn't want Abe getting suspicious. She promised to meet Tek after the party, while someone continued to watch outside in the bushes. Lexie showed up at the pub and greeted Abe with a kiss. Abe told her he wanted to be a better husband and would do anything to be able to make love to her again. Tek listened to this from a distance. Lexie told Abe she got an emergency page from the hospital (it was really from Tek) and headed out. Tek and Lexie began to make love back at the hotel while someone watched through the window, holding an envelope addressed to Abe.

Nick came into Jack's hospital room with the DNA test results. Nick was shocked to see their DNA matched; yup, he's Jack's brother, Steve! Nick said, "So what, I'm supposed to go back to a town where people think they're seeing a ghost?" Jack wittily responded, "I've done it plenty of times. It's not as bad as you think." Nick asked why he should believe Jack. He didn't even remember growing up with him. Jack explained their whole twisted past, saying that they were given up for adoption (because their father was abusive; Jack's adoptive father was a serial killer!) and they didn't meet again until later in life. Jack asked Nick to just take all of this in and contemplate going back. He did and told Jack the only way he'd go back to Salem was if Jack went with him. After some convincing, Jack agreed.

Hope handed the signed papers to Frankie and told him to file them. Meanwhile, Bo showed up at the Brady Pub (decorated for Jennifer and Frankie) and told his parents about the divorce. Caroline told him to keep the faith but Bo said he didn't believe much in faith at the moment. He didn't believe much in partying either but decided to stay when Kayla showed up! They all greeted her with a warm welcome. Kayla told Bo she was back in Salem for one reason: to tell Bo not to give up on Hope. Soon, Jennifer and Frankie showed up with Hope. Bo went to congratulate Jen while Hope tried to ignore him. Then Kayla grabbed both Bo and Hope's hands and told them she would not leave Salem until they worked things out. Hope appreciated what she was trying to do but told her there was no use.

Sami was seeing green when she arrived at E.J.'s photo shoot to discover a model "exercising" with E.J. Sami practically attacked the model, pushing her off E.J. and throwing her out of the studio. Sami said the model wasn't right for the shoot. They needed some more real, the girl-next-door type. E.J. suggested Sami do the shoot and after some assurance from Austin she agreed. Sami was stylized in a zip and the photo shoot began just in time for Kate to witness the playful twosome. "More than perfect," she gloated. After the shoot Sami began to apologize to Kate but was surprised to hear Kate agreed with the decision. A smitten Billie met E.J. for the first time, once again causing Sami's claws to come out as she stated that Billie worked for the competition and shouldn't be there.

After overhearing Belle and Philip talking about Mimi's miscarriage, Bonnie rushed to the examining room just in time to hear Lexie's bad news: Mimi's body was working very hard to prevent the embryo from implanting. Shawn asked why but Lexie didn't have an answer. What she did know was that it would be highly unlikely Mimi could carry a baby to term. Mimi was devastated and apologized to Shawn for not being able to birth his child. Lexie suggested a surrogate but Mimi wasn't sure she wanted a stranger carrying her baby. Light bulb! Bonnie offered up her uterus. Mimi said thanks but no thanks. Mimi reminded Bonnie she'd have to give up alcohol for nine months. "That doesn't include beer, right?" Bonnie inquired.

Meanwhile, Philip and Belle discussed how lucky they were to get pregnant with Claire so quickly. Still, Philip wondered why they were having so much trouble now. Philip commented that he probably should just be more patient. Belle felt the same way but suggested they talk to Lexie if the problem continued. Philip suggested they see Lexie now since they were already at the hospital — and they did. Thanks to a slow day, Lexie was able to run a round of fertility tests and Philip was hopeful they would finally get some answers. In no time at all, the results were in. Belle reviewed the test results and was confused to learn that Philip has a low sperm count.

The gang all arrived at the evidence room to watch the surveillance video. Unfortunately, it showed what they all feared — Bo alone in the room after dismissing the attending officer. If that wasn't bad enough, it showed Bo hitting the air vent causing the surveillance camera to malfunction and cut off. Bo tried to explain himself, pleading with Hope to believe him: He had heard a grating noise and slapped the air vent in an attempt to stop it, nothing more. Hope didn't want to hear it and strutted off to sign the divorce papers. Bo tried to then prove his innocence to Abe, but it was clear Abe had doubts. Bo told Abe he'd be giving up his badge and went off in search of Hope. Billie tried to stop him, claiming that she believed he didn't do it. "A lot of good that does me," he mumbled as he stormed off.

Jennifer shared the news of Kayla's homecoming with Frankie. They hoped that seeing how Jen has moved on with her life would help Kayla do the same. Suddenly, Hope showed up and told them about what the surveillance video showed. They couldn't believe it. She then told Frankie to take out the divorce papers. Knock, Knock! Bo banged on the door demanding to be let in. Frankie tried to get Bo to leave with no avail. Hope told Bo she was about to sign the papers. "You made your choice. Now I'm making mine!" she proclaimed. A grief-stricken Bo couldn't believe this was happening while an emotional Hope put the pen to the paper just about to sign.

Abe told Tek he was looking forward to spending time with Lexie and making up for their time apart. Tek wished him luck and then went right for the cell phone, asking Lexie to meet him. Tek was thrilled when Lexie showed up at his place but Lexie told him she was only there to finally end things. Tek pulled her in for a kiss and said he needed to make love to her one last time. They began to kiss again while a mysterious gloved figure lurked in the bushes.

Kayla contemplated whether or not to go back to Salem, holding her and Steve's wedding photo close to her. She began to think back on all her happy memories with Steve, including when he proposed. The phone rang and Kayla was happily surprised: It was Jennifer! Jennifer comforted Kayla, saying she knows what it's like to lose a husband. Kayla agreed to come home for Jen's wedding. She quickly made travel arrangements online, packed her belongings, and headed out the door. Jennifer told Caroline the good news.

The orderly reiterated to Jack that he wasn't his brother, Steve. His name was Nick. Nick tried to get Jack to eat but Jack wouldn't bite, harping on the fact that Nick looked so much like Steve. Jack figured he could settle it all by calling up Kayla, but remembered he didn't have the number. Nick suggested calling Jennifer for the number but Jack said he couldn't let Jen know that he's alive. Jack showed Nick a picture of Jennifer to see if he'd recognize her. He didn't. It was time for Plan C — a DNA test. Nick surprisingly agreed, wanting to end the confusion and prove to Jack he isn't Steve.

Tek asked Lexie to make love to him one last time. Saved by the bell! Before Lexie could answer, Celeste (who just had a feeling lives would be turned upside down, starting with Abe and Lexie) called, reminding Lexie they were to meet at Java. Lexie tried to leave her office but Tek pulled her in for another kiss. Ring! Ring! This time Tek was the one who was interrupted with a phone call. It was Abe, who wanted Tek's help with the investigation. Tek arrived at the evidence room and remembered he had previously installed a digital surveillance system in one of the air vents. While going through the evidence it appeared as though Tek found something: "Abe is not going to believe this." Meanwhile, Lexie admitted to her mother that she'd been with Tek but said she ended things with him. However, she didn't seem so sure when her face lit up while telling Celeste that Tek had admitted that he loved her. Celeste told Lexie that if she's not careful she could lose not only Abe but Theodore as well.

Chelsea and Kate's celebration outside the courtroom was cut short when a devastated Hope intervened. To everyone's surprise Hope explained that although she didn't agree with the judge's decision she accepted it. That's what Zack would have wanted. "You have a second chance at life, Chelsea. Don't screw it up!" she proclaimed. Chelsea ran off, with Billie and Kate not far behind. Billie told Chelsea that Hope was right and that she should learn from her mistakes. Chelsea planned on just that but when Frankie questioned her, revealing the truth about the e-mails to Bo and Hope was not part of those plans. Billie berated Kate for tampering with the evidence. Kate reminded Billie that if she wants Bo back the door is now wide open. Meanwhile, Bo blamed Patrick for stealing the evidence disc. Patrick denied it and Hope was disgusted Bo would try to push the blame on someone else. While alone Hope revealed she still loved Bo and probably always would, but he's lied one too many times. "I'm not your Fancy Face anymore," she said emotionally. Suddenly, Abe ran in saying they got a break in the investigation. He suggested they all go to the evidence room.

Jack believed the orderly tending to him was actually his brother Steve, but the man claimed to know Jack. Jack suffered a seizure but was stabilized. Upon recovering, Jack marveled that Steve was alive!

Bo was revealed in court to be only cop to have been in the evidence room. The judge questioned Bo, who admitted that he had been in the room but denied stealing the evidence showing Chelsea driving. Frankie asked the judge to dismiss the charges against Chelsea. Instead, the judge issued his verdict: Chelsea was guilty of vehicular manslaughter. However, she was only sentenced to community service. The judge ordered an investigation into the missing evidence. Chelsea thanked Bo for getting rid of the evidence, but he denied any involvement. Kate reluctantly admitted to Billie that she had disposed of the disc and explained to Billie that this was her shot with Bo. Meanwhile, unaware that Bo was standing behind her, Hope informed Frankie that she was ready to sign the divorce papers.

Caroline called Kayla, and asked her to return home. When Kayla tried to make excuses for why she couldn't visit Salem, Caroline announced that she knew the real reason: Kayla had too many bad memories associated with Steve.

Sami stormed into Lexie's office, demanding to know if the doc had cancer. Lexie replied that she was healthy. When Sami left, Lexie warned E.J. that Sami could only cause him problems. E.J. responded that he and Sami were only friends. Meanwhile, Sami prayed in the hospital chapel. She thanked God that Lexie had been given a clean bill of health and repented her alliance with Alex. Sami hoped that she and Austin could be happy together. Tek warned Sami that her bad behavior would come back to haunt her. Sami thanked E.J. for convincing Lexie to be tested again and smiled that she owed him a favor. He took note of her offer. Tek surprised Lexie in her office, but while she asked him to leave, she couldn't resist his passionate kisses.

Belle took Mimi to the hospital, where the pregnant woman was rushed to a room. When Philip arrived, a nurse broke the news that Mimi had miscarried her baby. Mimi fretted to Belle that her miscarriage was punishment for her dishonesty. Shawn rushed to Mimi's side and she again announced that she could have prevented the miscarriage by telling the truth. Shawn told Mimi that he married her because he wants to be with her — with or without children.
