Philip adamantly nixed Lexie's suggestion about doing a DNA test on Claire, deeming it unnecessary since Belle and Shawn had never "been together." Belle agreed. Lexie vowed to get to the bottom of the mysterious file and find out who left it in Shawn's room. Then, Lexie examined Shawn, and Mimi, Belle and Philip stepped outside. Philip promised to find out who was messing with their lives and to make them pay. Lexie emerged and pronounced Shawn well enough to go home. Belle and Philip left for Sami's wedding, and Mimi went in to see Shawn, who cracked that at least one good thing came out of this situation: He didn't have to attend Sami's wedding. Later, Mimi and Shawn arrived at the loft. Maggie, who was babysitting Claire, greeted them in the hallway. Then, she gently scolded Shawn about his drinking binge. Shawn promised not to do it again.

At the police station, the cop who arrested Sami and EJ for trespassing didn't buy their lame explanations. Sami mentioned who her father was and that she was on her way to her wedding, but the cop didn't buy it. If the police commander's daughter was getting married, he'd know about it. Before Sami and EJ were sent to be booked, Sami demanded her one phone call. EJ noted that he'd already tried Carrie's cell, but her voicemail was full. Sami realized there was no one to call, since they were all in church with their phones turned off. Meanwhile, John arrived at the station to talk to Eve about their next date. Officer Peters interrupted to tell Eve that his perp wasn't lying: her fingerprints proved she is Samantha Brady. Needless to say, John was shocked. Down in her holding cell, Sami was taunted by two hookers, who assumed she was one of the girls. "Oh, my God. Tell me what I did to deserve this. On second thought, don't," moaned Sami, who was overjoyed when John showed up. After teasing his wayward stepdaughter, John had her released and offered her a ride to church.

At St. Luke's, Marlena and Carrie discussed missing bride Sami and how EJ was driving her to the church. In the groom's room, Lucas told Austin that he still had time to back out of the wedding, if he was having second thoughts. Austin swore that Sami was the woman he loved and headed to tell her. Austin knocked on the bridal room door and started talking to Sami. Carrie came out and made excuses why her sister hadn't answered him. Austin continued to press Carrie to fetch Sami, as did Lucas. The jig was up when Chelsea emerged and announced that Sami had "flown the coop" and was with EJ. "Thank God. My prayers have been answered," interrupted Kate, who went on and on with Chelsea about the attraction between EJ and Sami. Carrie insisted it was nonsense and that there had to be a good reason why Sami hadn't shown up yet. Austin agreed and returned to the groom's room to await his bride. Meanwhile, Billie and Chelsea walked to the lobby, where they ran into arriving Belle and Philip. "You two are still together?" cracked Chelsea. "Why wouldn't we be?" retorted Belle. Back in the bride's room, Marlena and Carrie had a heart-to-heart talk. Marlena wondered if Carrie was trying to convince herself that marrying Lucas was the right choice. Carrie said that it was; then, broke down, admitting that she'd let so many people down. That is, everyone except Sami and she didn't want to hurt her. Marlena wondered how Carrie really felt about watching Austin marry Sami and if, perhaps, Carrie secretly hoped it wouldn't happen. In the middle of their talk, John arrived with Sami. "Look who I found at the Salem PD," he announced. Sami promised to explain the whole story later. But right now, she wanted to marry Austin.

Why did Carrie say Sami couldn't hear Austin?

A soaking wet Sami and EJ took shelter from the thunderstorm in an empty house. Sami couldn't believe her latest bout of bad bride luck. She called Carrie from EJ's cell to tell her they'd been caught in the storm, but the phone died midway through the call. Sami went off on EJ for not charging his phone on HER wedding day. EJ found an old ham radio and told Sami that he might be able to contact the Salem PD on it. Too bad all EJ could pick up was an oldies station. Meanwhile, Sami found a trunk containing an old Navy commander's jacket and bridal gown. EJ put on the jacket, and he and Sami danced to the music. Suddenly, they heard a boy's voice on the radio. EJ told him where he and Sami were and asked him to contact the Salem police. Sami doubted the kid would help them and started crying about her awful day. When she reached into her purse for a tissue, she found The Gloved Hand's note, only making matters worse. There was a knock on the door, and it was a police officer. Sami was thrilled, until he said he was there to arrest her and EJ for trespassing.

At the church, Carrie, Billie and Chelsea wondered where missing bride Sami was. "There is nothing that could keep her from this church except an act of God," noted Carrie. Chelsea complained about her dress, while Carrie kept calling Sami's cell to no avail. Then, Carrie received Sami's cutoff phone call. Carrie worried that Sami had been in an accident. Billie thought it was fate intervening, since she knows Austin and Carrie still love each other. Carrie didn't want to discuss it. She said that she and Austin had their chance, and she wrecked it. Billie insisted that Sami and Austin didn't belong together and encouraged Carrie to listen to her heart and do the right thing for her and Austin AND Sami and Lucas. Carrie changed the subject, noting that Belle and Philip should be arriving any minute. Chelsea said that she wouldn't count on that, but didn't elaborate and went to phone the hospital to check on Shawn, as Billie wondered what her daughter was up to. Billie continued to try to talk some sense into Carrie to no avail. Then, Billie went to look for Chelsea, while Carrie phoned Marlena, who hadn't heard from Sami. Billie asked Chelsea what she found out about Shawn, and Chelsea reported that things couldn't be better. She'd taken Billie's advice and done a good deed that was going to make all the difference in the world.

A stunned Belle shared the information in Claire's file with Shawn. "It says that Claire isn't Philip's daughter. She's yours," announced Belle. "What kind of sick joke is this?" asked Shawn as he perused the file, noting that he and Belle never slept together. Belle brought up the incident in the barn and how she dreamt about the two of them having sex. Mimi and Philip interrupted, and Shawn showed them the file. Philip took a peek and deemed it "ridiculous." Mimi panicked, knowing it wasn't. Shawn noted that he and Belle never had sex, while Belle mentioned the barn incident, and Mimi remembered Bonnie telling her all about that night. Then, Belle brought up Zack's organs being a perfect match for Claire. Philip swore someone had it out for them and vowed to find out who it was. The foursome showed the file to Lexie, who promised to have it checked out. Mimi suggested that they forget about the file and move on, but Belle wanted to find out who was behind the whole thing. Soon, Lexie returned and said the file was legitimate, but that the person who worked on it had the day off. But Lexie had a suggestion: take samples of Shawn and Philip's DNA and run the test again.

After getting pulled over for speeding and denying that he did it on purpose to sabotage Sami's wedding, EJ handed the cop his license and registration. The cop recognized the ace race car driver, and let EJ's ticket slide in exchange for an autograph. EJ tried to restart his car, but it was dead. Sami freaked, while EJ checked under the hood. Sami tried to call her dad, mom, etc. on her cell, but kept getting everyone's voicemail. Then, she called for a cab and screamed when she heard it would be a 45-minute wait, so the dispatcher hung up on her. EJ told Sami he'd try and fix his car with her assistance, and had her hold a hose. They chitchatted, and EJ told Sami about the time he worked on Prince William's car at Eton. Sami got all excited, let go of the hose, and got a face full of hot steam. Sami freaked, but EJ told her not to worry; her "first degree burn" could be covered up with makeup. EJ suggested that he and Sami walk to a gas station down the road, where, hopefully, Sami could get a ride to the church. As the pair started to leave, there was a roar of thunder. "Oh my God, EJ! It's raining," cried Sami.

At the hospital, Mimi, Belle and Philip discussed Shawn and Philip's drinking contest, Mimi and Belle's spats, and how badly they'd all been handling their in vitro mix-up. Then, Mimi headed to the chapel, and Philip promised to get her if Shawn woke up. Hope thanked Bo for promising he'd always be there for Shawn, earlier. Then, she asked about his commitment to Chelsea. Bo said Chelsea would have to earn his trust and respect if she wanted to be in his life again. Meanwhile, Chelsea chatted on the phone with Abby, telling her that she spilled the paternity secret. Afterwards, Billie told Chelsea that she had to leave for Sami's wedding, since she was a bridesmaid. Chelsea refused to go anywhere until she knew Shawn was okay.

Lexie arrived and announced that Shawn had woken up, while Dr. Berman asked his groggy patient some questions. Afterwards, Lexie lectured and scolded Shawn about his drunken escapades. Then, Lexie told Bo, Hope and the others that Shawn was "alert and oriented." Chelsea asked about seeing Shawn, and Hope noted that she wasn't first on his guest list. Philip headed to the chapel to get Mimi, who was praying for Shawn and telling God how much she loved him. Mimi vowed to do the right thing and tell Shawn about Claire. Philip walked in, but it turned out he didn't hear a thing. He told Mimi that Shawn was awake and fine.

Bo and Hope went in to visit Shawn, who apologized for putting his parents through such agony. Bo told his estranged son that no matter what, he loved Shawn more than his own life. Shawn wondered why Bo had let Chelsea in to see him. Hope explained that Bo had actually asked Chelsea to leave the hospital and that he didn't want anything to do with her until she straightened up her act. Bo filled Shawn in on how Chelsea had intercepted and changed his e-mails to Hope. Shawn wondered if his parents would be reconciling. Bo said that he still had to prove that he had nothing to do with the disk containing the evidence against Chelsea disappearing from the police station. Then, Bo and Hope left, and Hope reminded Bo that he had a wedding to go to. After a little coaxing, Hope agreed to go with him to get her mind off things. Belle proceeded into Shawn's room, and they talked about their deep friendship. "I can't imagine this world without you in it," sighed Belle. Suddenly, Belle spotted Claire's file on Shawn's night stand, picked it up, opened it, and gasped, "Oh my God!"

Austin told Carrie and Lucas that Sami spent the night at EJ's apartment, and Lucas went to check on her. Across the hall, a groggy Sami kissed EJ, then, realizing he wasn't Austin, apologized. Sami jumped out of bed when she saw how late it was. Lucas arrived and told Sami that she better "get a move on" if she wanted to get married today. Meanwhile, Carrie and Austin chitchatted before the conversation turned to their rooftop tryst. Carrie insisted that night "never should have happened." Austin was marrying Sami and it was going to be a beautiful wedding. Sami, however, was a frantic bride-to-be. Lucas tenderly reassured her that everything was going to be fine; then, left to get Carrie. EJ couldn't help but notice how "connected" Sami and Lucas seemed and suggested that Lucas might really love Sami. Sami admitted that a part of her would always love Lucas, but it was better for them to be friends. Later, Sami was on the phone with Will and frantic, yet again. Will's ride home from camp flaked and he needed someone to pick him up. Carrie agreed to be Will's ride, while EJ volunteered to chauffeur Sami to church. Meanwhile, Lucas and Austin had a pre-wedding chat about Sami. Lucas admitted that it was hard to stop loving and caring about Sami, prompting Austin to ask his little brother if he still loved her. Lucas maintained that what he and Sami had was over. He loved Carrie. Lucas wished Austin a happy life with Sami, noting that it would never be dull. Indeed! En route to church, EJ and Sami got pulled over for speeding. Sami asked if EJ orchestrated the whole thing, because he didn't want her to get married.

At the hospital, Mimi told everyone that there was no change in Shawn's condition. Philip suggested taking Belle home, but she refused to leave until she knew Shawn was okay. Billie suggested that she and Chelsea leave, but Chelsea refused. Shawn saved her life when she fell down the sewer, and Chelsea wanted to make things right with him. Then, Chelsea snuck off, saying she had something to do for Shawn. A nurse told Bo and Hope that they could visit with Shawn, but Hope said she couldn't. It reminded her of the night Zack died. With Bo's encouragement, Hope found the strength to go in. Hope took Shawn's hand and implored him to fight; then, broke down in tears. Bo talked to Shawn, too, telling him how much he had to live for. Bo begged Shawn to come back to them. Later, Mimi suggested that Belle sit with Shawn and tell him how much the baby she was carrying needed him. Speaking of babies, Chelsea emerged from an elevator holding the file which confirmed that Shawn is Claire's biological daddy. Then, Chelsea eavesdropped on Belle, who was pouring her heart out to Shawn about how much she loved him and they deserved to be together, despite the fact that they were married to Mimi and Philip. Bo found Chelsea and reiterated that she stay away from Shawn. Afterwards, Chelsea told Billie that she'd listened to her words of wisdom, earlier, about doing good deeds. Chelsea vowed to prove to everyone that she could do the right thing.

Shawn's doctor emerged and announced that his vital signs were improving; however, he wasn't out of the woods. There was a chance Shawn might have brain damage. A devastated Hope headed to the chapel and prayed for her son. She begged God not to take another child from her. "Our family has suffered so much loss. If Shawn dies, I'm afraid our family will die with him," wailed Hope. Bo entered and promised Hope that Shawn would be okay. Then, they headed to check on their son. Little did they know that Chelsea had snuck into Shawn's room. She placed Claire's file on Shawn's night stand and begged him to wake up so he could read it. "I know that it'll make you feel like you have something to live for," said Chelsea.

Billie told Bo that she was just as angry as he was about Chelsea's e-mail scam; however, he shouldn't have said he was cutting The Bad Seed out of his life. Bo said that the brat would NEVER change, but Billie disagreed. After all, Billie changed because of Bo's love and support. While Billie cried over their wayward daughter, Bo acknowledged that Zack's death may have been an accident, but that Chelsea deliberately "murdered" his marriage. Billie begged Bo to give Chelsea another chance. Yet, Bo wouldn't budge. He was done with Chelsea.

Belle filled Chelsea and Abby in on Philip and Shawn's argument and the scrambled egg fiasco that had her pregnant with Shawn's baby. Belle hoped for a miracle to work the whole thing out. "What would you say if I told you I could give you that miracle?" asked Chelsea. Before Chelsea could elaborate, Belle got a phone call from Philip and raced home, where she found her husband inebriated and bragging about how he'd had a drinking contest with Shawn and won. Alone with Chelsea, Abby asked her to explain her comment to Belle. Chelsea said she had to go do the right thing. Later, Max and Frankie arrived at the garage, and Abby proceeded to tell Frankie that he'd stabbed her father in the back. (Flashback to Abby remembering finding Jennifer in bed with Frankie.) Max defended Frankie, and Frankie tried to explain that he loved Jennifer. Abby asked Frankie to back off. Her mom loved and belonged with her dad. Frankie said that Jennifer asked him to stay, so he wasn't going anywhere. After Frankie left, Max and Abby discussed the situation some more. Then, Abby told Max what went down between Chelsea and Belle. Abby explained that Chelsea had found out a paternity secret at the hospital and was determined to do the right thing.

After finding Shawn unconscious, Mimi called for an ambulance and had him rushed to the hospital. Hope arrived, and Mimi told her that Shawn had alcohol poisoning. Hope phoned Bo, and he rushed over. Shawn's doctor explained the severity of his condition to Bo, Hope and Mimi. Knowing that Shawn had been out drinking with Philip, Mimi called to check on him and told Belle what happened to Shawn. Belle and Philip proceeded to rush to the hospital, too. Meanwhile, Hope broke down in Bo's arms, sobbing that she couldn't bear to lose another child. Then, Hope spotted Billie and Chelsea in the distance. (Earlier, Billie had told Chelsea about Shawn's condition, and Chelsea insisted they head to the hospital so she could be there for her brother.) Hope stormed over and told Chelsea to leave, as did Bo. Billie stood up for Chelsea, explaining that she was concerned about her brother. Bo said that Chelsea could stay, as long she stayed out of their sight. When Belle and Philip arrived, Chelsea told Billie that she knew Belle still loved Shawn. Philip apologized for what happened to Shawn. Soon, Shawn's doctor emerged and announced that his condition was stable and that he could have visitors. Mimi went in to sit with her unconscious husband and told him how sorry she was about what happened. Mimi blamed herself for trying to force Shawn into custody terms he didn't want and vowed to tell Shawn the truth about Claire, if he recovered.
