DAYS WEEK OF OCTOBER 29, 2007 RECAPS

At the sorority house, Max told Nick that Chelsea had vanished. Morgan and the other sisters mentioned the rapist on campus and Nick dialed Billie (AKA Mom-pus Security). Ex-cop and worried parent Billie efficiently questioned the gang about Chelsea's mental state. A call from an off-screen Jett revealed that Chelsea was set up with a fake call from Campus Security. The sisters all mobilized for Chelsea Search 2007 and Billie alerted the cops. Max called creepy ol' Ford over and asked if he knew where Chelsea was. Ford played dumb. Fed-up Nick went out to search and received a tremulous call from Chelsea of the "I'm in trouble" variety. The accented thug holding Chelsea grabbed the phone and told Nick to "come alone" (probably leaving him wondering how he stumbled into an episode of ALIAS). Back inside the sorority house, Max threatened Ford and then assured Morgan that Chelsea is "tough." He added that he didn't trust Ford (and we can hardly blame him). As Nick arrived at the rendezvous point for Chelsea and the thug, he ran smack into Artemis and DeMarquette, who had caught a cab so they could help him. He made them hide as the thug emerged. Much to Nick's shock, the thug wanted the boys in exchange for Chelsea. They started fighting as Chelsea called for help. Back at the sorority, Morgan said she couldn't "ban Ford for being a jackass," as he could talk trash about Alpha Chi Theta. Max offered up some more warnings, kissed her goodbye and left. Meanwhile, Nick urged Artemis and DeMarquette to run and begged the thugs to "leave my kids alone." His troubles grew worse, though, as he discovered a bomb strapped to Chelsea.

Down at the nursery, Kate looked at her grandkids and had a really long flashback to her conversation with Lucas about the state of things. She promised the babies she'd spoil them both. EJ strolled up to gloat and offered to "give you your son back." Yup, Elvis was offering to help Grandma win back Lucas in exchange for her convincing Lucas to divorce Sami. When little John Roman started fussing, Kate whispered sweetly to him and reminisced about Lucas' childhood. "That bond is broken," she told EJ, who kept chipping away at her like Iago. "This time you're on your own," she told him. He kept at her, "simply pointing out" their common goals. Kate held strong until the babies' name cards were switched from Roberts to Horton. Ouch. EJ offered to help her again and this time the offer was tantalizing. "I have nothing left to lose," she admitted. EJ told her that they needed to show Sami and Lucas what was at stake. He offered to set it up so Kate was "in danger," and Lucas got worried about her. He swore Lucas would never know. "I promise you it's going to be fine," he purred. "I have to do it," she then told her adorable grandbabies regretfully.

In the hospital, Lucas and Sami cuddled and kissed as EJ peeked in unseen from the doorway. They then discussed her having to marry the DiMera heir. Sami touted the Dominican Republic for a quickie divorce and Lucas was shocked by the speed of the proceedings. "I am not giving you up," he insisted. Sami assured Lucas there would be separate beds at Chez DiMera, but he warned her of the DiMera agenda. Sami claimed she could exploit the "obvious weakness" of EJ's love for her to destroy the dastardly clan. "What happens the first time you cross him?" Lucas countered. "He's not going to let you go." He refused to divorce her, but Sami said she was doing this with or without him. Lucas urged her to let him protect his family and told her to just relax and "don't worry about EJ." Sami agreed to put the matter in his hands and they cuddled up once more. Unfortunately, she was plagued by a severely creepy nightmare of EJ listing all of her family members and her seeing their sheet-covered corpses. John's body was actually talking, telling her it was her fault and she had to "hurry." Finally, she came face-to-face with the Grim Reaper — EJ — and awoke screaming. "I'm getting that divorce," she gasped to Lucas.
