Chelsea visited Victor at University Hospital. As she was speaking to her sleeping grandfather about the tension between him and Bo, Daniel walked in and asked what the hell she was doing. He dragged her out and warned that upsetting Victor puts him at risk for another stroke. The doc stated that the patient isn't up to receiving visitors and repeated his order to stay away.

At the police department, Hope was angry with Bo for keeping her out of the loop on the Hollingsworth case. The tense discussion was interrupted by a call about Philip's shooting and they rushed out.

At the DiMera mansion, paramedics worked on a bleeding and unconscious Philip. Ava walked in and Roman informed her that Eddie shot Kiriakis. Eddie blamed it on Morgan, who was sobbing nearby. He recounted that Morgan had burst in and was acting crazy; when she reached into her bag, Eddie thought she was going for a gun, so he fired first to protect John, but Philip jumped in the way. Kate arrived and cried out at the sight of her son, who was rushed to the hospital. Hope escorted Morgan to the station to give a statement.

Once the room had cleared out, Roman questioned John, suggesting that he might have set the whole thing up, but EJ confirmed Eddie's story. Roman reported that Morgan was unarmed, however John threatened to pursue a case against her for barging into his home and harassing him unless the cops just drop the whole thing. Roman left with Eddie to file a report. Ava and EJ stayed behind with John. EJ had good news about Ava's case: The request for extradition to Ireland was denied and they got a change of venue, the trial will take place in Salem. EJ noted that the case is being presided over by Judge Fitzpatrick. John smiled, mentioning that they go way back.

At the station, Morgan remained convinced that her father is dead and that John killed him. Bo flashed back to the tape recording of Philip threatening to kill Paul. Hope asked if Paul had a problem with anyone other than John. Morgan reluctantly divulged that her father warned her to stay away from Philip. You could see the lump in Bo's throat. Afterward, Hope accused Bo of withholding information from her and threatened to go to Abe. Bo claimed he's not hiding anything and huffed out.

At the hospital, Daniel reported to Kate and Chelsea that Philip is in recovery, but he lost a lot of blood. Dr. Jonas said that Philip has a rare blood type, Kate's not a match, so the hospital is contacting other facilities. Despite his "no visitors" policy, Daniel permitted Kate to visit Victor. This turned out to be a bad idea because Kate started blaming Victor for giving their son too much responsibility at Titan. She seemed oblivious to the sudden beeping from the medical monitors. When Victor opened his eyes, she delivered the bombshell news that Philip was shot. Victor began gasping and Kate ran to the corridor for help. Fortunately, the doctors got him stabilized. Daniel asked Kate what had gone on, but she didn't 'fess up about what she'd said. Dr. Jonas declared that there will be no more visitors. Soon after, Bo arrived, but the doc barred him from seeing Victor. Hope came to the hospital, but Bo was gruff with her.

Back at the mansion, Ava asked John about the judge, but he kept mum. Saying that she wanted to thank him, Ava drew John into a kiss. She brought up the judge again and John said that the judge responds favorably to campaign contributions.

Bo visited Philip's room and told his unconscious bro that he would take care of everything. Morgan arrived and sat by her hero's bedside. She said thank you and promised to show him how much he means to her. "You saved my life Philip and I love you for that.".... At the DiMera mansion Ava was still saying thank-you, but now John was shirtless and horizontal. He interrupted the smooching to talk about Morgan. "Think of what she would do if she really knew what happened to her father," he mused.
