As Kate hovered on the pier, Chloe took a bite of the poisoned apple. She told Daniel she thought it tasted funny and went to throw it out. Kate asked her why, then noted to Daniel that his housewarming gift was a bust because Chloe didn't like his apples. Chloe said the apple was fine and resumed eating it. Allie ran over. Kate suggested that they all go to the Java Café to talk about HOME & HEARTH. Both Chloe and Daniel begged off. Kate scoffed that she was disappointed that they wouldn't get together with her in a professional capacity. They reluctantly agreed to go. Once there, Kate pressed a button on a hidden recorder in her purse. She suggested doing a segment on Chloe and Daniel and the truth about them. Lucas entered to pick up Allie and asked, "What truth about them?" Kate explained that they were going to do a segment on them, focusing on Chloe's leukemia battle and subsequent bone marrow donation to Kate. Chloe started to feel strange. Daniel and Lucas were alarmed. She insisted it was just a headache. Lucas took Allie home. Chris called Kate and she chewed him out, then had to leave. Daniel offered to take Chloe home, noting she seemed pale. Chloe and Daniel got to the front door of her new house and she passed out in his arms.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Kate and Lucas chatted. He was concerned because he couldn't get Chloe on the phone. He noted that Kate seemed disgusted with Chloe lately and was bad-mouthing her a lot. Kate insisted as long as Chloe made Lucas happy, she was fine.

Maggie got her supplies ready to clean the Horton cabin. Melanie came home with a shopping bag from Barron's. Maggie told Mel she wanted to leave on an early ferry the next day. Melanie noted that she could handle cleaning up alone. "Just what are you up to, Melanie Layton?" Maggie smiled. Melanie explained that she wanted to play matchmaker for two of her friends and wanted to strand the duo on Horton Island. "What's in it for you?" Maggie asked. Melanie insisted that she was just doing it to be nice, then admitted that it could benefit her in the end because it would be good karma for her to meet someone.

Arianna left the Pub and ran into Brady — literally. Ari asked Brady if he could talk to Sami and convince her to stop seeing Rafe. He thought it was a crazy request and said no. She rushed off. He followed her to the pier to talk. He noted that when she's easy-going, he likes her and thinks she's cool and she should let that side show more. They engaged in flirty banter, then agreed to be friends.

Rafe wanted Sami to promise never to ask about Emily again. Sami pointed out that his not wanting her to know only made her more curious. They argued. She said it hurt her for him to shut her out and walked out. She headed home, with him on her tail. He wanted to talk, but she was annoyed. She angrily told him that he didn't know her and she is exactly the kind of person who was impulsive and would have asked Ari who Emily is. "This is who I am. It's just me. And if you can't handle that, then we don't have a future," she told him. He softened, as did she, and they worked it out and had makeup sex. After, they were hungry, so they agreed to order in Chinese. Sami said it was her treat. He went to take a shower. She realized she didn't have a lot of money, so she went into his wallet and found a Mass card that said, "In loving memory of Emily Hudson. September 15, 1978-March 28, 2007."

Brady went to the Pub to meet up with Melanie, who had called him there. She asked if he would help her clean the cabin. He said he would. After, he went to Maggie's for a meeting, but she had an emergency at Chez Rouge. He told her he had a lot on his mind — a woman who he couldn't stop thinking about. They talked it out, though he was embarrassed to be confiding in her. "All of a sudden, I'm in junior high all over again," he laughed. Maggie advised him to take his time and pointed out that it may be too soon to dive into a relationship. At Java, Melanie met up with Ari and asked her to help clean the cabin. Ari said she would.
