Nicole was reluctant to go to the convent with Rafe. He suggested they call EJ. She grabbed his phone and agreed to go see the "lunatic nun." She pulled out her cell phone but Rafe took it from her and said he'd return it at the convent. They headed out. They arrived at the convent, only to learn that Sister Theresa had been called away unexpectedly. A relieved Nicole retrieved her cell phone from Rafe and took off.

While doing paperwork at the Kiriakis manse, Brady got a call from Arianna, but didn't pick it up. Victor asked Brady to have lunch with him at the Pub, but Brady said that was the last place he wanted to be. He revealed he and Arianna had split. Victor said he was sorry, but Brady didn't buy it.

In the park, Sami ran into EJ walking Sydney. Sydney began to cry. Sami reached for her, but EJ told her to keep her hands off of his daughter. Sami asked why he pushed her away. He explained that he didn't want her to have anything to do with Sydney. She smirked that she and his baby had already gotten close, adding that she babysat her earlier. She also revealed that Rafe and Nicole were at odds and wondered if EJ knew why. EJ suggested that Nicole saw Rafe for who he really was. Sami defended her ex, insisting he was the best man she ever knew. That annoyed EJ. They began to exchange harsh words over Grace. Brady came upon them and broke up the argument. Sami thanked him. They went to the Java Café, where Brady told him about his breakup with Ari.

Rafe ran into Ari crying in the park and asked what was up. She said she was feeling lonely and asked him to talk to her and keep her company. He revealed that Nicole slipped through his fingers once again. He vowed to find out the truth.

Nicole arrive home. Stefano saw her enter and flashed back to overhearing her with Rafe earlier. Nicole kissed EJ, who remarked that she seemed rattled. She said she had wanderlust and wondered if their honeymoon to Paris would ever happen. He asked if she was trying to get away from Rafe. He then revealed he had spoken to Sami and knew that she and Nicole were sudden BFF and that she had fought with Rafe. He asked her why. She said Rafe was a jerk and treating Sami badly. EJ got a call and had to take it. Stefano came in and revealed that he was the one who got rid of Sister Theresa.

Philip apologized to Melanie. She asked if he was sorry she was humiliated or that her reputation was destroyed or that he lost Stephanie. "None of the above. I'm sorry because I doubted you," he explained. He asked if she could ever forgive him for doubting her. "I've never known anyone who can see inside my soul the way you do," he told her. She agreed to be his pal. He hugged her.

Ciara heard Dean flicking his lighter and flipped out, realizing that was the same sound she heard at the cabin. She whispered to Hope, "It's him." A stricken Hope turned around to Dean and looked at him. He asked what she was looking at. She covered that she wanted to get him his reward money at the bank. The phone rang; it was Bo. He left a message saying that he was going to question a witness who could ID the third suspect.

Justin came into the Pub. He and Bo locked horns over Justin taking Hope's side in the kidnapping case. Victor walked in while they were fighting and asked what was going on. Justin left in a huff. Vic sat down with his son and they talked about Hope. Vic advised him to protect his marriage at all costs.

Back at the Brady house, Hope tried to leave, but Dean stopped her, asking why she was in such a hurry. He realized something was up and told Hope he'd be calling the shots now and if she didn't comply, Ciara would die. Dean then admitted to killing Brenda and Kyle. Hope urged him to run away and start a new life for himself. He put the silencer on his gun. There was a knock at the door; it was Justin. Hope answered the door; he told her that the money had been transferred into Dean's account. She said thanks and tried to rush him off. She talked in code, however, hoping to get a message to him. He got it, pretended to leave, then came rushing back through the door and tackled Dean. Hope grabbed her gun, but Dean knocked her to the ground. She passed out. Ciara was freaked and ran to her mother. Hope came to while Dean struggled with Justin. A shot rang out. Both men lay immobile.
