Carly finished telling Bo what happened to Lawrence. She wondered if she was wrong asking for his help. Bo said she wasn't. Carly phoned Omar to check on Rafe and told Bo she had to go back to the boat. Bo insisted she stay put. Soon, there was a knock at the door. Bo hid Carly and let Maggie in. She wanted to discuss the scholarship fund with Hope. Bo said Hope wasn't there. Maggie swore she just saw Hope through the window. Bo covered, saying that was a friend who was visiting. After Maggie left, Carly emerged, certain she had to go now.

Philip joined Justin and Hope in the living room. They discussed Bo and Hope's "little break" from each other. Philip made a crack about the Kiriakis mansion becoming a singles only crash pad. Then, he apologized, certain Bo and Hope would work things out. Hope left. So did Philip. Maggie found Hope at the Java Café and asked about the woman staying at her house. Hope told Maggie she'd moved out; then, headed home. Bo heard her outside and had Carly hide. Hope said she was looking for Ciara's Halloween activity book and asked about the houseguest. Bo said she was gone. Hope saw her blanket tossed on the couch and asked if the woman had been wrapped up in it. Hope stormed out. Carly apologized for causing trouble and wanted to leave. Bo said no, promising to keep her hidden until she was out of danger.

Melanie and Nathan continued their standoffishness at the hospital. Steph wondered what was up and let the cat out of the bag to Maxine about them dating. Melanie swore it wasn't true. After Maxine and Nathan left, Melanie got on Steph for blabbing. She accused Steph of thinking she wasn't good enough for Nathan. Steph swore that wasn't true. Melanie confessed Maggie didn't approve of their coupling. Philip arrived and handed Nathan an envelope, noting it was a citation for his part in helping save Chloe's life. He asked Nathan to deliver an envelope to Melanie. Nathan reported he'd moved out of Maggie's house. Philip decided to deliver the envelope himself. Later, he arrived at Maggie's. Philip mentioned hearing Nathan had moved out of respect for Maggie. As he left, he told Melanie he wanted her to be happy and thought she'd be happier with him.

Mia fretted to Will about finding Chad before he took Sydney from Nicole. EJ was about to leave the DiMera mansion, when Chad barged in asking where his daughter was. EJ swore he didn't know. Chad started yelling for Nicole and asked if EJ was going to fight him for custody of Sydney. EJ said Sydney wasn't his child. He didn't know or care where Nicole and Sydney were. Mia and Will arrived. Mia begged EJ not to let Chad take Sydney. EJ refused to stand in the way of a father uniting with his child. Chad thanked EJ and split. Will couldn't believe EJ's attitude. EJ said Sami was the reason he was giving up Sydney and asked Will and Mia to go. Then, he left to visit Stefano and hear what he had to say that was so important.

Sami answered her door to find Nicole standing there with Sydney. Nicole prepared to tell Sami the truth about Sydney, but couldn't do it. After Sami put Sydney down, Nicole tried to give Sami her $50,000 back. Sami urged Nicole to keep fighting. Nicole said she couldn't. She explained how Stefano dragged her off the plane and to his hospital room. Sydney cried and Nicole went to tend her. When she returned, Sami was gone. Nicole realized she went to confront Stefano. Nicole sobbed realizing she might lose Sydney. Later, on the pier, Nicole fretted about losing Sydney. Chad arrived and handed Nicole an envelope, noting she'd been served.

Maxine checked on Stefano, whose pulse was racing. She insisted he calm down. Stefano envisioned telling EJ about the baby switch and a cop hauling Nicole away. Stefano snapped back to reality and swore no one would ever take EJ's daughter away from him. Sami stormed in and started ranting. She chastised Stefano for calling Nicole's plane back, insisting she'd suffered enough. Stefano swore Nicole would never suffer enough for what she did to his family or Sami. Sami refused to be turned against Nicole and told Stefano she gave her money to leave town. "A child deserves to be with its mother," contended Sami. Stefano concurred: "Sydney should be with her mother. Her real mother."
