Dr. Rebert and Chelsea sipped wine at Chez Rouge. Chelsea went on about how much fun she was having, when she spied Nick at the bar. Maggie spotted the teary-eyed Nick and wondered what was wrong. Nick claimed it was allergies, but soon 'fessed up: he was sure Rebert was "a jerk extra ordinaire" and that Chelsea was headed for trouble. Maggie thought Chelsea could handle herself, but Nick begged to differ and vowed to save her from the big bad wolf. Rebert and Chelsea ragged on the other employees at the hospital, including Nick. Nick seethed, ordered a beer, and told Maggie that Chelsea was underage and shouldn't be drinking. Maggie stormed over to Rebert and Chelsea's table and announced that Chelsea was underage. Rebert suggested he and Chelsea head to his place for some wine and went to get his car. Chelsea walked over to Nick and called him a spiteful jerk, a stalker, jealous.... Nick insisted he was trying to protect Chelsea. Rebert returned as Chelsea headed for the car. Then, Rebert punched Nick in the gut for following them and left. Realizing Nick was right, Maggie urged him to fight for Chelsea. Nick left, while Chelsea sat in Rebert's car and asked him to take her home. But he had other ideas, as he reached over and grabbed her leg.

Officer Stratton told Philip that Claire was gone, noting that a life raft was missing. Philip fumed. Willow arrived, asking if there was any news. Philip ranted that this was all her fault and they exchanged insults as the ship dropped anchor to search for Claire. Soon, Stratton returned and reported that the raft had been found slashed to ribbons. It looked like a shark attack. Philip demanded they search the entire area, but Stratton said it was too late. Philip refused to believe Claire was gone. Later, Willow apologized for letting Shawn and Belle get away, but Philip wasn't interested. Officer Kendrick found Philip and reported that the torn life raft also had blood on it. Still, Philip refused to believe Claire was gone. Willow offered to help Philip make things right by making Shawn pay. Meanwhile, Shawn and Belle washed up on shore, where an hysterical Belle told Shawn that she lost Claire in the riptide. They rushed off to look for the tyke. "Belle! Belle! I found her," yelled Shawn. Belle hugged her baby girl; then, noticed she was bleeding. Shawn and Belle bandaged Claire's cut. Then, Shawn tried to build a fire so they could keep warm.

Marlena went to see Kayla, who filled her in on Steve trying to choke her. Marlena wanted her to call Roman, but Kayla refused. She vowed to find Steve, insisting she could undo whatever EJ had done to him. Little did Kayla know that Steve was in the hospital preparing to kidnap John and bring him to EJ. Marlena explained to Kayla that Steve was delusional and dangerous. The DiMeras had rewired his mind to do whatever they wanted him to. Kayla couldn't save him. Kayla demanded to know what John told her, and Marlena came clean about her dream: Steve was programmed and dangerous. Still, Kayla refused to call the police, fearing that they would arrest Steve. But Marlena persisted and, finally, Kayla agreed. Meanwhile, Steve removed John's tubes and monitors, loaded him onto a gurney, and sounded the fire alarm before wheeling him into the elevator. Later, nurses headed to John's room and discovered he was gone. They promptly called Marlena to let her know her husband was missing. Marlena raced off with Kayla right behind her.

Roman told Max and Mimi that Bonnie confessed to murdering Mimi's dad. Apparently, he'd come home drunk and smelling of perfume, and he and Bonnie got into a fight. Bonnie ended up killing him with a fireplace poker. Mimi was stunned. Roman did have some good news. Connor, who left town, wasn't going to be prosecuted for helping his mom steal daddy's bones from the morgue. Bonnie, however, was going to need a good lawyer, because she was being booked for murder. Mimi was sure it was self-defense, and Max said he had an idea that might prove it. If her dad did hit Bonnie, there might be DNA on the ring that was on his skeleton. Max headed to get the ring tested, while Mimi visited Bonnie and demanded some answers. Bonnie sidestepped her questions. No matter, Mimi assured her mom that she was there for her. In fact, Max was off testing her dad's ring in hopes of helping Bonnie. Bonnie wanted Max to drop it. She'd killed David and belonged in prison. Mimi suspected that Bonnie might be trying to cover something up for someone else. Bonnie denied it. When Roman interrupted, Bonnie told him to book her. As Roman led her off, Bonnie cried out that she loved Mimi.

At the lab, Nick told Dr. Rebert that he didn't have a problem with Chelsea working there. Rebert noted that while Nick was smart at science, he didn't have a clue about women, so he offered to give Nick some pointers. Nick wasn't interested, so Rebert left. Max arrived, gave Nick the ring and asked him to check it for traces of blood, skin, etc. On his way out, Max questioned Nick about Abby and asked him to say "hi" for him. It turned out Abby was at Java Café, where a new classmate named Jed was trying to make time with her. Chelsea rudely interrupted, complaining about her calculus class, and told Jed to split. Abby noted that Nick would gladly help Chelsea with calculus, but Chelsea wanted nothing to do with him. She planned on making him squirm and was going to use Dr. Rebert to do it. Chelsea rushed off to work, and Jed returned and asked Abby for a ride to the mall. Noticing his friends watching and laughing, Abby turned him down flat. Meanwhile, Chelsea arrived at the lab and began flirting with Dr. Rebert as Nick fumed. Dr. Rebert invited Chelsea to dinner and she accepted, much to Nick's chagrin.

Max returned to the police station. Mimi explained that Bonnie was definitely hiding something. Mimi suggested getting out of there and heading to Max's apartment. Max said he had a pile of work at the garage. Mimi said she'd go to his place and wait for him. After Mimi left, Max left Abby a message that he'd be at the garage if she wanted to drop by and talk.

Belle told Shawn that Officer Stratton was going to be back any second to throw him in the brig. Shawn vowed to get Belle and Claire off the ship, but first they had to get rid of Philip. Stratton found Philip outside Shawn and Belle's door and informed him that he was there to get Shawn. Stratton knocked on the door and Belle opened it, noting that Philip had been bothering them all day and that Shawn is in the bathroom with Claire. Philip broke open the door, saw the air vent cover off, and realized Shawn had escaped with Claire. As Stratton and Philip raced to find them, Shawn crawled out from beneath the bed with Claire. Shawn, Belle and Claire snuck out, but ran smack into Willow, who taunted them by reaching for the fire alarm, but didn't pull it. Meanwhile, Philip and Stratton realized they'd been duped and rushed back to Shawn and Belle's room. Willow explained that they just left, as Philip raged at her. Up on deck, Shawn informed Belle that there was only one way out of this situation: they'd have to jump ship — literally! Shawn tossed their things down onto the raft; then, he, Belle and Claire took a giant leap.

Lucas kissed Sami and assured her that their best days were yet to come, as they talked about their baby-to-be and reveled in their love. There was a knock on the door, and it was EJ offering his congratulations. He'd heard the good news from Kate. EJ explained that he was talking about their upcoming nuptials. EJ offered Lucas a month off with pay for his honeymoon with Sami and even offered Mythic's private jet to squire them off. Lucas wasn't interested. EJ left, volunteering to take out Sami's trash. Sami told Lucas that she initially thought EJ was talking about her pregnancy. Lucas asked why Sami was adamant about no one knowing, especially EJ. Sami insisted that this was something private. Lucas pointed out that Roman, Kate, Will and Billie all knew, so the news would be out soon. Nevertheless, Lucas agreed to keep Sami's pregnancy a secret for now. Meanwhile, EJ arrived at the warehouse with Sami's trash in hand, telling Stefano that they'd be embarking on a treasure hunt. EJ found a letter from Sami's doctor and announced he might have been successful in planting the DiMera seed. Stefano raised his fist victoriously, as EJ vowed to do everything in his power to make his father well.

Philip and Willow spatted on deck. Willow wanted to gamble, but Philip reminded her of their mission: Get back Claire. Willow wondered about Philip's plan. Namely, dragging Claire off to Belgium, where she wouldn't know a soul. Willow offered to be Claire's nanny. "You want me to trust you with my daughter?" retorted Philip, pointing out that Willow was a whore. Willow reminded Philip that she was carrying his insurance policy and he needed her. She could always go to the judge and reveal that Victor paid her to lie during Claire's custody hearing. Philip grabbed a screaming Willow and held her over the ship's railing. Finally, Philip set Willow down on the deck and they went their separate ways. Inside their room, Belle fretted about losing Claire. Shawn said he had a plan, but it was dangerous: jumping ship! However, they'd have to find a way out of the cabin first. Belle discovered a loose air vent cover in the bathroom. Shawn crawled into it to check things out, telling Belle to pack a survival kit while he was gone. Officer Stratton knocked on the door, wanting to talk to Shawn and Belle. Belle explained that Shawn was in the shower. Stratton told Belle about a newspaper article that had been faxed to them by Canadian authorities accusing Shawn and Belle of kidnapping Claire. Belle balked that the captain had already locked them in a room. What more could they want? Stratton suggested putting Shawn in the brig until they docked. Belle got rid of Stratton, saying she needed privacy to feed Claire, but he vowed he'd be back. Luckily, Shawn returned first, and Belle filled him in on Stratton's plan. Shawn, Belle and Claire prepared to make their getaway, just as they heard Philip approaching them.

Kayla tried to stop Steve from packing, but he told her to wake up and smell the coffee. There were marks on her neck from him trying to choke her. The DiMeras did something to him, and he had no control over it. Steve wasn't about to put Kayla's life in danger. Kayla begged Steve not to go, but he remained adamant. Finally, Kayla told Steve to strangle her, right now, because her life was over without him. "I'd rather kill myself," insisted Steve. Kayla pointed out that neither of them could survive without the other. Steve turned to leave, but Kayla knocked him to the ground and straddled him, pounding on his chest and begging him to remember their wedding vows. The pair started kissing, passionately, until Steve came to his senses, broke away from Kayla, and left. Later, Steve arrived at the warehouse and promised to do whatever EJ wanted, as long as EJ didn't harm Kayla. When EJ turned, Steve grabbed him and put a knife to his throat. EJ promptly whipped out his Tarot card, and Steve fell to his knees. Steve asked what EJ wanted him to do. "Bring John Black to me," instructed EJ. Meanwhile, a distraught Kayla made a phone call for help. "It's about Steve," she wailed. "It's a matter of life and death."

Chelsea arrived for her interview with Dr. Rebert and apologized for treating him like "man candy" when they met. Dr. Rebert clearly didn't mind, however. He told Chelsea she got the job. A delighted Chelsea promised Dr. Rebert that he wouldn't be disappointed. In the hall, Chelsea ran into Nick, who'd been eavesdropping. Chelsea scolded Nick about pretending to be Shane Patton, while Nick insisted it was the only way to get through her armor. "You don't get it. I love you," professed Nick. Chelsea seemed taken aback, as she told Nick that from this day forward they were nothing more than co-workers and, by the way, Dr. Rebert really liked her. When Chelsea left, Nick told Dr. Rebert that Chelsea wasn't "just some cheap piece of meat." Dr. Rebert warned Nick that he was on thin ice. Meanwhile, Chelsea went to see Abby and filled her in on her new job and Nick's declaration of love. When Chelsea mentioned going shopping for some work clothes, Abby asked who she'd be dressing for — Nick or Dr. Rebert?

Sami prepared to peruse Brides magazine, but sighed about always jinxing her past weddings. Lucas assured her nothing would go wrong this time. There was a knock on the door and it was Kate. Lucas told his mother that he invited her over so she could apologize to Sami and to let her know that he and Sami were getting married. Predictably, Kate went off on the subject. Suddenly, the phone rang and Sami answered it. To her surprise, it was Celeste, demanding that Sami come to Abe's house immediately, or she would call the police. (Earlier, Celeste had discovered a speeding ticket for Lexie in the mail and was stunned upon opening it.) Sami made a lame excuse about going shopping and left. Alone with Lucas, Kate voiced her suspicions; then, veered the conversation to the night Sami saved Lucas's life and how she believed EJ had helped her. Lucas let his mother have it, calling her on her constant meddling in his life. "You're not welcome in this apartment any more," spat Lucas, adding that Kate wouldn't be invited to the wedding, Will's graduation, or the new baby's christening.

Sami went to see Celeste, who asked what she knew about Lexie's disappearance. Celeste showed Sami the picture snapped at the scene of the ticket. While it was indeed Lexie's car, the driver and passenger were Sami and EJ. Sami promptly confessed all. Namely, how EJ helped her save Lucas for a price: she had to have sex with him, so he could plant the DiMera seed in her. A horrified Celeste urged Sami to go to the police. Sami insisted she couldn't. She was pregnant and prayed Lucas was the father, but feared everything would crumble if he learned what happened. Celeste feared that EJ murdered Lexie, but Sami suggested that EJ might be holding Lexie and Tek captive. After Celeste promised to keep Sami's secret, she returned home. Lucas informed Sami that he had disowned Kate, after her latest accusation that EJ had helped Sami save him. Sami and Lucas embraced, as she told him never to forget how much she loved him.

While in the middle of a dream of being tortured by EJ, Steve reached for his neck and began choking him. Fast forward to the present, Steve had his hands around Kayla's neck. Kayla begged him to stop, and Steve suddenly realized what he was doing. Devastated, Steve cast himself across the room. He explained that he was dreaming of choking EJ, who was taunting him by saying, "You're one of us now." Then, Steve 'fessed up to Kayla about confronting EJ after he'd escaped from the hospital. Kayla begged Steve yet again to get help. Yet again, he refused, insisting it wouldn't help. Steve told Kayla to call the police and press charges against him for domestic violence. If he was in jail, he couldn't hurt anyone. When Kayla refused, Steve began packing a bag and announced that he was leaving her.
