DAYS Recaps Week of June 4, 2007
Friday, June 8, 2007
Sami collected her things at the hospital while awaiting her discharge and asked Lucas if he was still mad at her. He said he wasn't mad, but worried about her getting involved in the DiMera vendetta. She insisted that she needed to help get to the bottom of it. He remarked that his trust in her was violated by her running off with EJ. Sami told him to stop being so overprotective and said that in the ambulance, Stefano was remembering someone he loved and he seemed almost human when talking about Colleen. Lucas told her to drop the investigation into Colleen, then forbid her to see Stefano again. She balked at that. Lucas left, advising her not to engage in any "funny business." After Lucas left, EJ called, saying he needed to meet Sami right away. Sami was discharged, but the doc told her she had a close call and to be more careful. EJ appeared at the door. Sami asked how he ever got past the guard. EJ showed Sami a note from Stefano, asking them to meet him at the manse. She thought it was a trap and said that she promised Lucas she wouldn't leave. "He's got you on a tight leash," EJ smirked. Sami insisted he was just protective of her. EJ tried to change her mind, saying she was just as curious about why Stefano called her Colleen as he was. EJ promised no harm would come to her or their child. "You held a gun to my head. You raped me. You're the last person I want protecting me," she scoffed. She kicked him out of her room, but he went to get a wheelchair, knowing she'd change her mind. She grudgingly agreed to go with him and left Lucas a note.
Belle met Philip at the Brady Pub. He told her that he received word that a man named George Stemmer saw Claire alive the night the boat went down and that he was going to meet them at the pub to give details. He asked where Shawn was; she said he was going to visit his parents. While they waited for Stemmer to arrive, Belle and Philip had a talk. She said that she felt very protected at the mansion, like nobody could hurt her. Stemmer arrived and they sat down to talk. He told them that he noticed a frantic woman with a small child — who he identified as Claire — the night of the storm. They asked what he remembered about the woman. He said she had a backpack with a sticker that said, "U.S.A.DORABLE."
Hope came back from a run to find Bo playing with Ciara. Shawn arrived to see his parents and sister and told them about the lead about Claire. Bo told him that Willow died during a struggle with Nick. Shawn lamented her passing and the baby's. Bo said that since the baby was Shawn's, they should take care of the funeral arrangements. Shawn said he would pay, if the baby was his. Hope and Bo said they thought he knew the baby was his. Bo said he ordered a new DNA test anyway. Shawn asked how Nick was holding up. Bo said he was rattled, and that Willow had been blackmailing him. Shawn was surprised. Bo said they'd have the results of the coroners inquest in a few hours. Shawn said he'd meet Bo to get them later, then headed out to the Pub. Once alone, Hope asked Bo if he really believed Willow framed Chelsea. Bo said he did. "I think this time she's not lying to us," Bo said. Hope smiled that she felt the same way. The doorbell rang. It was Doug and Julie, who had the key to Doug's Place. Hope said she'd call a sitter to watch Ciara. Lucas came by and told Bo and co. that he was worried about Sami and that she sneaked out to see Stefano the night before. Lucas revealed that DiMera called Sami Colleen. He asked if they knew who that was. Bo told him that she was mentioned in the letter Sami and Lucas found at Maison Blanche and that she might be the reason the DiMeras hate them. "This Colleen must have been soooome woman," Doug noted. Lucas asked what Grandpa Shawn had to say about it. Bo said that he was being tight-lipped. Doug said they were going to Doug's Place to check out the tunnels between the club and the DiMera mansion. Lucas wished them luck, then asked them to keep this development from Sami. Hope advised him to give Sami some space and not treat her like a child. "She might surprise you," she said. Bo, Hope, Doug and Julie made a plan to meet later. Lucas headed back to the hospital and was not happy to find Sami gone, especially after he read her note.
Shawn joined Belle at the Pub, where she told him what George reported about Claire and he told her that Willow was dead. Philip sat at another table on his laptop and looked up U.S.A.DORABLE online. He called them over to say that it was a toddler beauty pageant. They didn't see any photos of Claire. Shawn left to meet Bo, but told them to keep looking. Philip saw that there was a pageant that day in Chicago and planned to go there right away.

At the beach, Bo asked Chelsea what she was doing there. She said she was just "chilling," but he didn't believe her. He asked if she was looking for something that implicated Nick in Willow's death. Chelsea said no, but Bo called her on her lying. She showed him the hairbrush and said he wouldn't believe her when she told him the truth.
At the station, Roman pressed Nick for more details about his relationship with Ms. Stark, but Nick kept mum. Roman began to lose his patience. Bo and Chelsea arrived at the station. Bo filled Roman in about what Chelsea told him and how Willow planted the brush in the Brady home to frame her. Roman went back to talk to Chelsea and Nick. Nick explained that he took the brush form the lab to prove Chelsea's innocence. Roman and Bo said they'd have an easier time believing them if they had been honest all along. The duo again explained the position Willow put them in. Roman decided he believed them and ruled Willow's death an accident. He also said he would throw the brush out in the Dumpster across the street and they could all forget about it. After he left, Bo told them that they got a lucky break. Chelsea insisted to Bo that she would never harm Hope and Ciara and wouldn't have set fire to the house. They came to a new understanding. Bo told Nick not to leave town since he still had the coroner's inquisition. Chelsea vowed to stand by her man.
Tony called his lawyer, demanding that he get Stefano back to the mansion. After he hung up, Tony referenced the Bard's feeling about attorneys. "The first we kill are the lawyers," replied a knowing Dr. Rolf. Tony realized they'd have to send a stronger message to Sami to butt out.
Belle, Marlena and John went to the hospital to visit Sami, and were alarmed to find she was gone. John asked the cop what happened. He recounted the diversion and John realized EJ and Sami duped them. Lucas returned for his cell phone (the one Sami swiped) and was incensed to learn that she was gone and that Elvis had something to do with her disappearance. Lucas asked for a phone so he could call his own cell. Tony picked up. Lucas asked where Sami was, but Tony just told him to keep a better eye on his wife. Lucas hung up on him, then decided to go to the manse himself. John went with him.
In the ambulance, Stefano asked what Sami wanted. "Peace between our families," she replied, then offered her stem cells in exchange for it. Stefano noted that the Bradys started the feud. "You brought all this pain on yourselves," he said weakly. EJ tried to intervene, but Stefano told his son he had a lot to learn. Suddenly, the ambulance turned around. The paramedic explained that the DiMera lawyer got involved and they have to return to the mansion. On the trip back, Stefano said that vendetta wouldn't end until “all the wrongs of the past have been righted” and added that they should ask Shawn, who knows the truth and always has. Sami couldn't understand why her grandfather wouldn't have told them before.
Marlena asked Belle why she and Shawn moved in with Philip. Belle said it was temporary until they found Claire. Marlena admitted she thought it was odd in light of the pain Philip caused them. Doc Evans asked if perhaps somewhere Belle had feelings for her ex hubby. No way, replied Belle, insisting she loved Shawn with all of her heart. Marlena replied that she wasn't asking Belle how she felt about Shawn; she was asking Belle how she felt about Philip. Belle asked her to stop, adding that she was Marlena's daughter, not her patient. Marlena apologized. Belle noted that Phil always made her feel safe and secure. Marlena pointed out that perhaps Shawn wasn't giving her that and she was looking somewhere else for it. Belle said Shawn made her feel safe.
Lucas stormed the mansion. Tony told him to scram. John walked up and said Tony might want to think twice about making Lucas leave. "Are you sure you're out of that coma, John? Your eyes seem more vacant than usual," he queried. Lucas told him to stop stalling. Tony said that Sami is with EJ. John noted that Tony wouldn't mind if they looked around a little. Tony said it would give him and John time to catch up. Lucas returned sans Sami. Tony taunted him by asking if he checked the "secret rooms and the dungeons." Lucas broke a vase so Tony would 'fess up where Sami was. Just then, the EMTs returned with Stefano, as well as Sami and EJ. "What the hell? Where have you been?" Lucas demanded. Stefano spied John and said hello to his "favorite pawn." Sami explained to Lucas that she and EJ needed to talk to Stefano. Lucas again took exception to her using "we" to refer to her and EJ. Sami tried to make Lucas understand that she wanted to end the feud, but Lucas didn't follow her reasoning if it meant hanging out with EJ. John came outside and told Sami that Marlena and Belle were waiting for her at the hospital. The Roberts's headed back to the hospital. They both calmed down and restated their love for one another and kissed. Sami and Belle had a sisterly reunion in her room.
Back at the mansion, John told EJ it was payback time for stealing his kidney and that he would now take EJ's. John brandished a shiny knife and held it in front of EJ, who then slinked off. "Yes, folks, Elvis has just left the building," John said aloud. Inside, Stefano privately told Tony that the secret of the vendetta must never be revealed.

The cops questioned Nick about Willow's death and took him to the station. He called Chelsea, who met him there. He told her about the hairbrush fiasco and Willow's subsequent demise. Roman entered to question him about what happened on the beach. Nick gave his account of the night. Roman felt his responses were "vague and unsatisfying." Roman pressed him some more, but Nick remained tight-lipped. Roman asked again why they met at the beach. Nick said Willow wanted money from him but he said no and they struggled. Roman said he would need to put Nick on tape now that a physical confrontation was involved. Nick privately told Chelsea that the hairbrush was still on the beach and that she needed to get it. He also admitted to being a little jealous when he saw her with Jett earlier. She assured him he had nothing to worry about, then left for the beach.
Outside of Sami's room, EJ caused a distraction so he and Sami could sneak out to the DiMera mansion. At the mansion, Tony practiced his sword play. Rolf interrupted the angry Count to report that Stefano's condition was getting worse. Sami and EJ arrived. She told him to make the 911 call, pretending to be his father, so that the EMTs would come. He did and she said other than his accent, he did a good job. Inside, Tony picked up a book to read. Bart ran in to report that an ambulance was on the way. A vexed Tony told him to call them back, but it was too late: The sirens could be heard in the distance. Outside, EJ got flirty with Sami, but she stopped him in his tracks. The EMTs came to the door, but Tony assured them that Stefano was okay and sleeping. They said they had to see for themselves. EJ and Sami realized they would have to get in the ambulance with Stefano to get time alone with him. Bart caught them outside and brought them into Tony. Tony asked which one of them called 911. There was a commotion in the other room; the paramedics brought Stefano down the stairs and said he had to go to the hospital. Tony said no; EJ said yes. Sami realized Dr. Rolf was the presumed-dead man Mimi and Rex "buried." Rolf explained away his death by saying, "It didn't take." EJ and Sami slipped by Tony and Rolf while Bart was getting pie. In the ambulance, Elvis talked to his dad. Stefano opened his eyes, saw Sami, touched her face and said, "Colleen, Colleen. You're alive."
At the Brady Pub, Hope, Bo, Doug and Julie tried to figure out who Colleen was. Julie suggested they ask Shawn and Caroline. Enter Shawn. The group prodded Bo to go talk to him, but Bo was wary of upsetting his "grumpy" dad. Hope teased him that he was scared of Shawn. Bo headed to the bar and asked Shawn if he had ever heard the name Colleen. Shawn quickly replied that he never heard of her, then walked away. Hope suggested they check out the tunnels underneath Doug's Place to get some clues. They debated whether or not they'd be able to get into the building, which was long boarded up, so Doug went to make a call. Bo came back to the table and reported that Shawn did not want to talk about the past. Julie told him to talk to Caroline when Shawn wasn't around. Bo got a work call and left. Doug reported that the realtor said they could have the keys to the old club the next day.
Roman asked Nick if he and Willow had been sleeping together. Nick insisted they weren't. "If you weren't sleeping with her, then she was blackmailing you. And I want to know why," Roman said. At the beach, Chelsea crossed the police tape, dug in the sand and found the hairbrush. She stood up to find her father there. "Do you mind telling me what you're doing here?" he asked.

There was pandemonium in Sami's hotel room as EJ made Sami spit out her food that he thought Tony had poisoned. Lucas yelled at Wells, demanding to know what he was doing in Sami's room. Sami tried to make peace, suggesting Lucas have the food tested. Lucas took off. Sami asked EJ to stay behind. EJ lamented that he couldn't see Stefano because Tony was blocking his way. Sami announced that she would go see Stefano with him. No way, replied EJ. Sami agreed that it was too risky to go to the mansion, so they'd have to find a way to get Stefano out of it. Sami suggested that EJ call 911, pretending to be Stefano, and pretend he had a heart attack to get the EMTs there. They would talk to Stefano in the emergency room. “This just might work,” EJ replied. Sami noted she'd have to get away from Lucas. He entered just as she was plotting and asked what was going on. Sami said she wanted to end the feud. EJ added that they could only do it by talking to Stefano. Lucas forbid his wife to do anything of the kind. “We have to do something,” Sami noted. “Wait a minute. We? When is it We? You and your rapist here, we?” Lucas said incredulously and kicked EJ out.
At the Brady Pub, Bo and Hope looked over the letter from Santo, Stefano's father. Hope told her husband she's on the case with him, but he wasn't too thrilled. She reminded him that she used to be a cop. They started necking in the booth and Bo joked that they could be grounded by Caroline. Just then, Doug and Julie came in, back from a long trip. Hope was thrilled to see them. They cooed over baby Ciara, then announced that they planned to stay a while at Alice's. Julie revealed that Alice was going to teach Julie her famous doughnut recipe. Doug sensed something was bothering his little girl. Hope got teary and explained that she was upset about Claire being missing. Doug assured Hope she'd be home soon. Bo brought drinks from the bar and they all sat down. They reminisced about Doug's old club, Doug's Place. Julie recalled that you could see the DiMera mansion from the north windows. Doug then reminded her of the secret room. What secret room, Hope asked? Cue the flashback. Doug said they found aerial maps of Salem and Brady and Horton family trees in it. Bo told them that Tony was back in town and that Stefano was rumored to be at death's door. "I'll drink to that," Doug said, raising his glass. Hope said that she and Bo were investigating the origins of the feud and showed them the letter. Julie knows Italian, so she translated it, explaining it was from Santo DiMera to his son, Stefano when Santo was on his deathbed. In it, Santo revealed that he was in love with another woman besides Stefano's mother and her name was Colleen, but she was taken from him. Santo tells Stefano to exact his revenge and make the Bradys in Salem pay dearly for hurting him.
Nick met Willow at the beach. She was holding the hairbrush and threatening to put him in jail if he didn't give her money. He insisted he was tapped out and demanded that she turn over the brush. They fought for the brush. During the struggle, Willow fell back and hit her head on a log. Nick realized something was wrong, but thought she was faking. When he saw that she was really injured, he tearily made a 911 call and urged Willow not to die. The EMTs arrived, but it was too late: Willow had no pulse.
Lucas told Sami he was going to stay in the hospital with her, but she worried that Tony would get Will while they were gone. Lucas agreed to go home, but told her that she shouldn't have any more visitors. He reiterated that with her guard. After Lucas left, EJ arrived, but the guard told him he couldn't go in. Sami secretly called EJ to find out where he was. He said he was outside, so she told him to cause a distraction so the guard would leave. EJ doubled over in pain; the guard called for a doctor.

Nick hung out at the bar with some colleagues from the hospital at the Brady
Pub. He was surprised (and miffed) to see Chelsea come in for a bite with
Jett. Nick sat down with them. He asked Jett where his name came from. Jett
said it was from the movie Giant and his mom thought it was a cool
name. Nick went to explain about the movie, but Chelsea cut what she
considered his dorkiness off. His cell phone rang; it was Maggie, asking him
to come outside. Maggie reported that he got a call and his credit card was
over its limit. Nick uttered, "Willow," then left to take care of it.
At the site of Sami's car incident, EJ called a meeting with an annoyed (but
well-suited) Tony and ordered him to call his henchmen off of Sami or else
he'd kill him. "Are you threatening me?" Tony asked incredulously. EJ added
that he wanted a truce between the Bradys and DiMeras. Tony chastised him
for that, calling Sami a waste. "Then why do you have such a stake in her
life?" EJ retorted. Tony told his brother that Sami turned him into a
lovesick puppy. They traded barbs. EJ threw the Count's failed relationship
with Kristen Blake in Tony's face. Tony scoffed it off. "You're not fooling
anybody, Tony, least of all yourself," EJ announced. EJ also pointed out
that he was only conceived as a pawn in Stefano's game, so that Kristen
could hang on to John (er, okay) and now he was the father of Marlena's
daughter's baby. "I have everything that you ever wanted," EJ sneered. Tony
shot back that EJ got her pregnant through rape. "You're the rotten limb
father cut from the family tree," Tony noted. Tony bottom lined it and said
that EJ needed to get the stem cells from Sami and then added that he might
want to head over to the hospital to make sure no tragedy had befallen her.
A panicked EJ raced off.
At the hospital, Dr. Jacobs reported that Sami's baby seemed okay, but they
wanted to keep her overnight for observation. She wanted to leave, but Lucas
said no. She restated her determination to get to the bottom of the
DiMera/Brady feud. Lucas said it was dangerous in her condition, being five
months pregnant. "Lucas, you didn't grow up in Salem. You don't know what it
was like... It was like a reign of terror that the DiMeras unleashed on my
family," she explained, then got agitated. He said he wouldn't be Kayla and
lose the only person he cares about, her. "Leave this the hell alone," he
pleaded.
A now-alive Dr. Rolf brought a tray of food to Samantha's room. The cop
guarding her room was suspicious because of the late hour. Dr. Rolf lied
that it was doctor's orders, so the cop let him in. Sami noted that she
didn't order food, but Rolf gave her the same doctor's orders line. EJ got
there in time to see Dr. Rolf leaving. He insisted that the cop let him into
the room. He raised his voice, which Lucas overheard and came outside. EJ
ran in and told Sami to spit the food out of her mouth. Dr. Rolf reported
back to Tony that "it was done" and that Elvis arrived as he was leaving.
Nick met Willow at the police station and demanded his credit card back. He
also said he was breaking the lease on the apartment. She asked what she
should do about the baby. "It's not my problem," he replied, then took off.
At the Pub, Jett remarked that it seemed Nick wasn't coming back. Chelsea
didn't seem to notice. She asked her new pal about his Air Force days, the
Salem/Vegas shuttle and why Jeremy was a jerk. Jett explained that since he
and Jeremy are both pilots, they thought it would be a good idea and that he
would run interference between her and Jeremy. She felt he was getting
flirty with her, so she told him she had a boyfriend. He pulled out a photo
of his fiancée and said that he liked Chelsea, but as a friend. She was
embarrassed. He asked if she would take the airplane job. She said yes. Nick
returned while Chelsea and Jett were high-fiving, so she told him about
Touch The Sky airlines and her new flight attendant job. Nick wasn't up for
talking about the new gig in front of Jett, so he asked if he could talk to
her privately. She called him rude, but Jett took off to call Jeremy. Once
alone, Nick expressed concern over her working with Jett. She pointed out
that Jett was Abe's nephew and his partner was Jeremy, Nick's cousin. He
then told her about his confrontation with Willow. An excited Chelsea
rewarded him with a big smooch. Maggie came back in (wearing sunglasses at
night) and told Nick that his room at the house was trashed. "Nicky,
whatever's going on with you, it's gone far enough. I want you to tell me
everything," she said. Nick's cell phone rang. It was Willow, who was
calling from the beach to say that she found the hairbrush and would turn it
over to the police if he didn't meet her pronto. Again, Nick hurried off.
