DAYS Recaps Week of July 9, 2007Friday, July 13, 2007 Waiting for Jeremy to arrive, Touch the Sky steward Chelsea told Stephanie of her suspicions about Jeremy. "I just don't trust him," she confided. But Stephanie countered: "He reminds you of you." Chelsea angered Steph by noting she could do better than Jeremy. When Jett noticed how upset Chelsea was, she admitted she hated the way Jeremy treated women. Chelsea guessed Jett didn't trust Jeremy either, adding ominously: "Sometimes I think you're too trusting for your own good." Suddenly, Jett told her he got the feeling she was talking about something other than Jeremy, but Chelsea deflected his question. Later, Chelsea admitted to Stephanie she thought Jett's fiancée Danielle was cheating on him. Stephanie said when they arrived in Vegas, they would do a little checking on Danielle. Stephanie struck a nerve with Chelsea, suggesting Chelsea would be there to comfort Jett if it turned out Danielle was indeed cheating. When Jeremy arrived to pilot the plane to Vegas, a suspicious Max insisted on checking their cargo to make sure it wasn't a load of guns or drugs. At the pub, Marlena told Lucas and Sami that EJ tipped Roman off about Tony coming after them at their motel safe house, commenting EJ had switched sides. Lucas scoffed at the idea, but Sami said she wanted to believe EJ had a conscience. Lucas stormed outside, where Kayla, babysitting for Ciara, tried to comfort him, noting he would be the real father to Sami's twins no matter who the biological father was. Alone with Sami, Marlena warned her that EJ really just wanted to be with her. Roman arrived to announce he'd found another safe location for Sami and Lucas. In private, he asked if Marlena would be able to tell if Tony was real or fake, confiding Anna's declaration that Tony was an impostor. Earlier, Roman told John and Steve about EJ's proposed Brady-DiMera peace summit and asked them to find EJ, whom Tony had tied up at the former safe house. Tony rigged the place so anyone finding him would set off a gun trained at EJ's head. When John and Steve arrived, Steve correctly sensed something wasn't right and snuck in another way, pushing EJ out of harm's way just as John busted through the door, triggering the trap. In a car nearby, Tony admitted he didn't care what Stefano would think if his "favorite" son were killed and darkly claimed he'd have his father committed if necessary to take control of the family. "When the Bradys look back on the Age of Stefano, it'll be the golden age," he warned.
Meanwhile, John and Steve brought EJ safely back to the pub, where Lucas angrily refused to be polite. Sami, however, mouthed a thank-you as EJ winked at her. Roman said they wanted EJ to help them trap Tony, but both Roman and Marlena had a warning too: Stay away from Sami. Outside the pub,
Steve noted Kayla, cooing over Bo and Hope's little girl, seemed to have a "baby jones." But when Kayla wistfully said she wished "we had a second
chance to raise a baby together," Steve laughed off the suggestion.
Thursday, July 12, 2007 Anna was confused by her passionless kiss with Tony. If she didn't know better, she'd wear he wasn't Tony. Tony wasn't up for this. He was too busy trying to prevent Stefano from dying. But Anna insisted on another kiss. Bart popped up from the back seat and broke things up. Tony got rid of Anna, then he picked up his binoculars and spotted Roman's car. Tony instructed Bart to disarm the alarm. Bart obliged, then followed Tony's next order to jimmy open the lock. After the car door was opened, Tony snatched the hard drive from Roman's GPS system. Meanwhile, Anna entered the pub and admired EJ before he left. Anna delivered a bombshell to Roman: that guy who looked like Tony definitely wasn't The Count. Outside, EJ happened upon Tony, who was heading off with the hard drive. EJ pulled out a gun, desperate to keep Tony from finding Sami. Bart snuck up and knocked out EJ. Sami and Lucas reunited with Marlena, who told them Grandpa Shawn had gone to Ireland. They assumed it had to do with Colleen. Sami insisted she had to make a deal with Stefano and give him the stem cells. "If you do, your babies will die," warned Marlena. Sami was confused; EJ made it sound like a simple procedure. "He only cares about saving Stefano's life," retorted Lucas. Marlena explained that the only way the babies could survive was if the procedure was done after they are born. Sami went on about screwing up yet again. Marlena assured Sami that she loved her and that Roman and Bo were working on another plan: arranging a Brady/DiMera meeting. Sami would actually get to talk to Stefano. Lucas was against the idea, but Sami believed she could convince Stefano these babies were the future for his family. Marlena got a call from Roman and reported that they had to leave the safe house. The trio went to Bo and Hope's house until Roman could find them a safer place. Sami, however, didn't want to go. Tony and Bart arrived at the old not-so-safe house to find it empty. Tony confronted EJ, who was now gagged and tied, and admitted he'd seen EJ conspiring with the Bradys earlier. "There is only one punishment for treason, brother," taunted Tony, pointing a gun at EJ. "Death!" Bo and Hope arrived at the old Irish church, where the Mother Superior informed Bo that Shawn had been there praying earlier. Bo assumed it was either for Colleen's soul or his own. Soon, Shawn returned and remembered back to being there with Colleen and begging her not to leave. "We feel her here, too," offered Hope. Shawn told Bo and Hope to go home. Bo said they were there to help. Hope consoled Shawn, noting that Colleen died way before her time, just like Hope's mother. "But you can rest at night knowing that you didn't kill poor Addie," replied Shawn. Bo and Hope reminded Shawn he was a small boy when Colleen died. There was no way it could have been his fault. With that, Shawn announced that he was heading home, leaving Bo and Hope confused.
Wednesday, July 11, 2007 At the pub, Caroline told Bo and Hope that Shawn Sr. was gone and showed them the note he'd left behind. After some sleuthing, Bo reported that his dad had gone to Ireland. He promised his mother that he and Hope would find him and bring him home. When Roman and Anna arrived, Bo showed his brother their father's note. Anna mentioned being hungry, and Roman scolded her because they were in the middle of "a situation." Anna left. Bo suggested Roman reach out to EJ. Because of his feelings for Sami, he was their best shot for help. At first, Roman refused, reminding Bo that EJ raped Sami. Then, Roman agreed to talk to him, noting that the vendetta had to stop. Outside, Anna slipped into Tony's car and asked if he was spying on someone. Tony admitted he was and asked Anna to go. She wouldn't budge. She was having thoughts about Tony and wondered if that old magic between them might still be there. She kissed him. Meanwhile, EJ entered the pub, and Roman told him it was time to end the vendetta. When EJ agreed, Roman suggested a meeting between their families. "Tony will never go for that," warned EJ, noting his brother was determined to get Sami. The only way to procure peace was to take Tony out. Chelsea couldn't believe Nick was being blackmailed again — especially by Kate over that stupid hairbrush. Roman told them they were in the clear, so none of it should matter. Nick assured the hospital wouldn't see it that way and explained how Kate wanted him to change the paternity results on Sami's babies. Nick admitted that he never ran the tests, but wrote a fake report naming EJ as the daddy. Chelsea was appalled. Nick went on about needing Chelsea and asked why she wouldn't have sex with him. Chelsea claimed she was uncomfortable doing it at Bo and Hope's house. Nick wondered if something had changed between them. Since they slept together, Chelsea had pulled away from him. "Was I really that bad?" asked Nick. "No," insisted Chelsea. Nick assumed the problem was Jett. Was Chelsea thinking about Jett when they were making love? Chelsea admitted she was thinking of Billie and Nick together. She told Nick to stop pushing her. Nick stormed off. Bo and Hope returned home, filled Chelsea in on the Grandpa Shawn situation, and told her they were going after him. Grandpa Shawn entered the Irish church and announced, "I came for you, Colleen...to tell you how sorry I am." He thought back to being there with Colleen as a child and her telling him what to expect when he made his first communion. He remembered Santo coming up to him, introducing Stefano, and suggesting they play together. The two boys went off to play, as Santo and Colleen talked. "You broke our promise to God, Colleen," noted Shawn. "It wasn't me. You know who it was."
Tuesday, July 10, 2007 Sami continued the letter, as Santo noted he thought there was no way of avoiding a fight with Pete that day. That is, until Colleen arrived with her little brother, Shawn, demanding her father leave Santo alone. Pete retreated and left with Shawn, telling Santo he didn't like the looks of him and never would. Colleen apologized for her dad's temper, but Santo stopped her. Sami stopped reading to ask Lucas if he believed in fate. Lucas insisted he did. That's why they were together. Back in the past, Santo informed Colleen that he'd been to the church many times looking for her, but Father Mallory always made excuses for her. Santo wondered why he frightened Colleen. Colleen insisted she wasn't frightened of him and went to pay him for the handkerchief. Santo urged her to accept it as a gesture of gratitude for her kindness to him, but Colleen said she couldn't. Santo suggested they go on a picnic the next day. Lucas and Sami's interests were piqued, as Colleen turned Santo down flat! She'd given her heart to the Lord, and Santo was married. Julie read on about how Santo prayed that one day his and Colleen's paths would cross again. God couldn't possibly have brought them together to be torn apart so soon. John pointed out that Shawn obviously knew more than he was telling them, while Bo said his father had a right to his privacy. Meanwhile, Lucas couldn't believe that was the end of Santo and Colleen. Sami noted there were more letters. Then, she and Lucas headed off to take a hot shower. Back in the past, Santo left the hankie over a pew and left. Colleen returned and picked it up. Then she asked Father Mallory for the next day off to help the orphans. Colleen suggested the wealthy stranger in town might be able to help them. In the pub, Grandpa Shawn lamented the late Colleen haunting him after all these years. Caroline found him working on the books and suggested he tend to them later, but Shawn wouldn't hear of it. After Caroline left, Shawn looked at pictures of Colleen. "I pray that you've found peace and that you've forgiven me," he sighed. Shawn jotted a note to Caroline, saying he'd be gone for a few days. "I'll be there soon, Colleen Mary...and just maybe the good Lord will finally let us put the past in the past," promised Shawn as he left.
Monday, July 9, 2007 Chelsea asked Nick to help her figure out how to tell Jett his fiancée was cheating on him. Nick thought they should mind their own business. The pair went back and forth about what to do. Nick tried to distract Chelsea by pulling her into a kiss and announcing that he wanted to make love. Chelsea noted that there was no place to go. Besides, she wasn't in the mood. A spat ensued. Nick brought up the infamous hairbrush and how he stole it because he loved her. Chelsea couldn't understand why Nick was bringing that up again, until he explained that somebody else found out about it and was blackmailing him. It was Chelsea's grandma, Kate! Bo, Hope, John, Marlena and Doug listened as Julie read the first translated letters between Colleen and Santo. Meanwhile, at the safe house, Roman handed Sami a copy of the letter and she read it to Lucas. As Colleen prayed in church, an unconscious Santo was carried in. He'd been in a bar fight and suffered a head injury. Colleen tended to him after sending for a doctor. Santo opened his eyes and muttered, "Madonna mia." Colleen assured him she wasn't the blessed virgin, merely a novice. Santo and Colleen introduced themselves; then, she bandaged his head. Bo and company weighed in on the letter. Then, Julie read on. Santo explained that he was in Ireland on business. When he suggested Colleen come to Italy so he could give her a tour, Colleen asked about his wife. Santo admitted he had a wife and son in Tuscany. In fact, his wife made many of the things he sold, like the handkerchief he presented. Lucas wanted Sami to get to the part where the guy got the girl in bed. Sami scolded that this wasn't some skin flick. Santo went on about Colleen being the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen and how God sent him there to find her. Colleen ordered him to stop speaking such blasphemy. Father Mallory appeared, and Colleen introduced Santo and explained what happened to him. Then she said it was time for Santo to go, but that he should have his head examined by a doctor. Santo promised to stop by the infirmary. Alone, Colleen picked up the handkerchief Santo left behind. A stunned Sami told Lucas he wasn't going to believe the favor Colleen asked of Santo next. "A quickie in the confessional?" cracked Lucas. Sami glared at him, noting that Colleen requested one of Santo's silk handkerchiefs for her father. Obviously, Colleen wanted to see Santo again. In the flashback, Colleen fetched pen and paper to write her request for a hankie to Santo, a sure way to get him to return. Lucas deduced that return is what started the Brady/DiMera feud. Bo and company speculated about what happened next, too. Hope was sure Colleen never ended up taking her vows to become a nun and that this story didn't end happily.
