DAYS recaps Week of July 23, 2007Friday, July 27, 2007 At the Salem PD, a hooded Lexie snuck in with Bo hoping Abe wouldn't see her ('cause wearing a hood doesn't stand out at ALL). Then, John asked Lexie to be the bait to hook Andre. Bo wasn't thrilled with the idea but Lexie wanted to help. John and Lexie put their plan into motion, discussing Sami's plight while they waited for Andre to make contact. Later, a re-cloaked Lexie and Bo headed off to pull off their scheme.
Lucas and EJ informed Marlena that they'd let Sami get dragged out the fire escape. Doc scoffed at EJ's apology, noting his lack of sorry for raping her daughter or shooting her husband. Roman informed them there was no sign of Sami. On the DiMera jet, Stefano, Bart and Dr. Rolf anticipated Sami making
her "charitable donation." Stefano philosophized about his mortality and creepily stroked Sami's cheek. Tony arrived at Lucas' apartment, revealing that the DiMera jet was circling international waters and that Sami was
likely on it. EJ, Lucas and Roman went off to find some way to make the plane land as Stefano regretted endangering his grandbabies. At the station, EJ tried to comfort Lucas and was met with understandable contempt. Luckily, Roman interrupted with news. Back at Chez Roberts, Tony comforted Marlena and John arrived. As Tony bolted out like the devil was on his heels, John wondered if Marlena would relish seeing Andre behind bars. Yep, and she relished kissing him, too. Roman related the DiMera jet was
between Grand Cayman and Bermuda as Rolf readied Stefano for "sleepy time."
Thursday, July 26, 2007 Chelsea urged Nick to quit gambling before he lost all his money. Nick insisted his luck was going to change, as he watched Pete (Hello, Jerry Springer!) win across the table. After Chelsea left, Pete introduced himself to Nick and gave him some advice. If he was going to gamble, gamble big. Pete showed Nick his lucky charm: his pappy's glass eye. Pappy handed it to him on his deathbed and it had been bringing Pete luck ever since. Nick went on a winning streak and wanted to bet it all, so he could get something special for Chelsea. To his delight he won again — $50,000! Nick thanked Pete and cashed in his winnings. Chelsea rambled on to Steph about Nick being out of control and losing big time. Steph didn't understand why Chelsea cared, since they were over. "He's still a really nice guy ...You remember what those are like, right?" retorted Chelsea. Steph didn't appreciate the dig. Was Chelsea jealous because all she'd ever had was a geek like Nick? Chelsea swore she was concerned and told Steph that Jeremy was cheating on her. Max caught him with someone at Bo and Hope's house. Steph called Chelsea and Max liars. Later, Jeremy arrived and suggested hitting the hot tub. Chelsea asked where Nick was, and Steph mentioned seeing him cashing in his chips. Chelsea headed off, as Steph gave Jeremy the cold shoulder. Chelsea was shocked to see all the money Nick won. "We are rich, baby. Let's get married," squealed Nick. Meanwhile, Pete told the dealer to put anything Nick won on his tab. He did it all for love. On his way out, Pete came across a janitor wearing an eyepatch and mentioned he'd found his glass eye under the table. Steve walked into the pub and Kayla immediately got on him about having another baby. Steve said that he'd been trying the fatherhood gig with Stephanie, but wasn't good at it. Besides, he and Kayla were happy. "I just think it would make our lives richer," replied Kayla. Steve brought up his mental state, noting that he wouldn't know how to raise a child. Kayla pointed out that Steve had so much love to give, the main ingredient in parenting. "It would be a shame for a needy child to miss out on such a wonderful father," she said. Steve relented and agreed to think about it. Belle was stunned by Shawn's marriage proposal and questioned his motive. Was it to get Philip out of their lives? Shawn admitted he wanted that, but he also wanted to marry Belle and didn't understand her hesitation. Belle just wanted to be sure and insisted they be totally honest with each other. She admitted knowing he hadn't gone on that job interview in Cleveland. Shawn was furious that Philip told Belle about that. He noted that everything about that job would have been about Philip and he wanted to earn things for his family on his own. Belle understood, but wondered what Shawn did Fourth of July. Shawn flashed back to booking a flight to Indianapolis, but told Belle he didn't go anywhere. Finally, Belle got on her knees and asked Shawn to marry her. "Yes," replied Shawn, as they embraced.
Wednesday, July 25, 2007 Shawn stopped by the police station and told Bo that he was thinking of asking Belle to marry him, although he couldn't imagine why she'd say yes. His finances were a mess. Bo realized the problem was filthy-rich Philip and urged Shawn to forget about him. He encouraged Shawn to take his time, get a little money together and then propose. Shawn left and headed to the pub. He sat down with Billie and asked what she'd say if a guy proposed with a ring like the one in his hand. Billie was impressed, admitting she'd say yes. At another table, Philip offered to send all the clothes he'd bought Claire and Belle back, when Shawn arrived and asked about them. Belle lied that her mom had taken her shopping. Shawn noted that Belle deserved nice things, but insisted on paying Marlena back. Belle said he couldn't; it was a gift. Billie came by and asked if Philip knew anyone in Indianapolis. Philip didn't. No matter, Billie vowed to track down the person down who was harassing her brother. Later, at the beach, Shawn and Belle lounged on a blanket. Suddenly, Shawn took out the ring, got down and bended knee and asked Belle to marry him. Jett and Chelsea asked Nick what he was doing in Las Vegas. Nick reminded Chelsea that they had a date. Chelsea reminded Nick that they'd had a fight. Nick didn't remember and mentioned the bombing. Then, he asked what Jett and Chelsea were doing together. Chelsea explained she'd slipped getting out of the hot tub and fell into Jett's arms. She made a hasty exit. Jett assured Nick that he and Chelsea were just friends. Chelsea returned, asked Jett to go to the bar, and told Nick they were "so done." Nick opened a suitcase and picked out some new clothes to wear. Stephanie slipped into the Jacuzzi with Jeremy and asked if he was giving her gifts because he felt guilty about something. Jeremy swore he wasn't and asked if Max was talking trash about him. Steph said he wasn't. Jeremy explained that he was involved in a big business deal, which meant big money, and he was worried people would start spreading lies about him. Then, he stormed off. In the casino, Max ran into Ilsa. He wondered what Jeremy's one night stand was doing in Vegas and introduced himself. Ilsa said she couldn't talk. A man interrupted, noting that Ilsa was with him. Then, Ilsa slapped Max and ordered him to stay out of her business. Chelsea and Jett joined Max. Max asked Jett if he knew Ilsa. He didn't. Max asked Chelsea if she'd told Steph that Jeremy was cheating on her. Chelsea said she couldn't. Steph loved the guy. Jeremy arrived and offered to buy drinks for everyone. Chelsea walked off as Jeremy handed Max a wad of cash. When Steph arrived, Jeremy handed her some bucks to buy some silk panties. Steph mentioned the dinner her dad set up to get to know Jeremy, and he said he was in. Jeremy spied Ilsa walking by, ditched Steph, and went after Ilsa. Chelsea, who was watching, was disgusted. Nick emerged acting like a fool and took a spot at the blackjack table, much to Chelsea's chagrin. EJ opened his beeping briefcase, and it erupted in smoke. When all was clear, EJ and Lucas realized Sami was gone. Bo and Roman arrived to survey the situation. Roman thought Andre had to be behind this. EJ said they had to go to Stefano, but Bo announced that he had disappeared too. Lucas fumed about Stefano using the twins' stem cells to save his life and vowed to take the DiMeras down. Roman and Bo urged Lucas to stay put while they searched for Sami. Lucas didn't have much faith in the Salem PD. Roman understood, but noted that if Sami got to a phone she would be calling the apartment, so Lucas shouldn't go anywhere. Bo and Roman left, and EJ urged Lucas to work with him to find Sami.
Tuesday, July 24, 2007 Stephanie showed Chelsea Jeremy's latest gift. Chelsea wondered what Jeremy was feeling guilty about that prompted him to be so sweet and giving. Steph was annoyed, so Chelsea suggested she get an STD test. If it came back negative, she'd apologize. Stephanie stormed off as Jett arrived. Chelsea told Jett that Jeremy was cheating on Steph. Jett wanted to talk about their almost kiss. Chelsea insisted it was no big deal, and they decided to forgive and forget. The duo then hopped into the hot tub, where things got awkward. They stepped out, and Chelsea slipped and landed smack in Jett's arms, just as Nick walked in. EJ chastised Andre in his hospital room for targeting him and Sami. Stefano arrived and announced that Andre was paralyzed thanks to Bo. Then, he told EJ they had to talk outside. EJ pointed out that Tony was Andre, but Stefano already knew. Andre was the one son who didn't disappoint him. Inside the room, Andre tinkered with EJ's briefcase. Stefano continued that EJ had disappointed him. EJ insisted he'd done exactly what Stefano wanted. Stefano rebuffed EJ and told him to go. EJ grabbed his briefcase and left. Stefano asked if Andre left Elvis a surprise. Indeed, Andre had. Tony walked in, much to Stefano's shock. He mocked Andre and lambasted Stefano, claiming that the tide was turning. The people Stefano had attacked were coming together and gaining strength. "Your reign of terror is over," announced Tony. Roman told Sami that he wanted to move her and Lucas to a new safe house. Despite the bombing, they wanted to stay put. A cop walked in and handed Roman a case with a note in it that read, "May the two of you live happily ever after in heaven. Love, EJ." Sami and Roman didn't buy it. EJ, who heard what happened, arrived to make sure Sami and the twins were okay. EJ realized his family must have been behind the explosion, but insisted he had no part in it. EJ swore he'd do anything he could to help. Roman suggested turning in Stefano. EJ agreed to do whatever it took to protect Sami. Roman brought up the safe house again, but Sami and Lucas wouldn't budge. Roman relented, said he'd post a guard outside their door, and left. When EJ lagged behind, Lucas handed him his briefcase to get him to go. "Is it me or is my briefcase beeping?" asked EJ. Anna arrived at the pub and gushed to Bo and Hope about finding Tony. She asked them to have Roman call her, as they needed to touch base about a couple of things. Hope told Bo that Roman was about to get his heart broken. Bo thought Roman would be relieved to be rid of Anna. "You want to bet on that double or nothing?" offered Hope. After some prodding, Bo agreed. If Hope won, Bo would streak around the parking lot, twice! Roman went to the hospital, where he reunited with Tony. Roman told Stefano that his bomb missed. Of course, Stefano feigned ignorance. Upon leaving, Roman asked Tony to find out what Stefano's mysterious key unlocked and to get his hands on it. Later, Tony and Anna arrived at the pub, followed by Roman, who saw them kissing. After chatting with Bo, a grumpy Roman avoided Anna and made a hasty getaway. Hope prodded Bo to drop his drawers. Meanwhile, Roman returned after taking a call from Dr. Lewis and reported that Andre had escaped. Bo, who was back from his run, announced that he was ready to go after Andre. Roman suggested he put pants back on first.
Monday, July 23, 2007 In the past, tykes Shawn and Stefano played while Colleen asked Santo what he wanted from her. Santo said it was just the pleasure of her company and the chance for Stefano to make a friend. Then he admitted being puzzled by Colleen's chosen path. Colleen noted that she'd wanted to be a nun since she was a "wee lass." Her decision wasn't for Santo to question. Santo promised he never would again, if Colleen granted him one wish: to see her in a simple dress and to meet him tomorrow. Colleen called the request "sinful," and fetched little Shawn to leave. Bo commended Colleen, certain that she never fulfilled Santo's request. Hope read on, noting that Colleen did. While Santo was taken by the sight of Colleen out of her habit, Colleen insisted that she was not tempted by Santo and certain her life belonged to the church. Then, Colleen asked Santo to grant her a wish. She wanted to be free of him. Santo couldn't oblige, because he knew he'd never be free of Colleen. She questioned Santo about life outside of Galway, specifically in New York. Santo went on about the city and asked Colleen to let him take her there. Then he asked her for a kiss. Bo was stunned that Colleen actually puckered up with Santo. So was little Shawn, who witnessed the kiss. When Max asked to check the inventory on the latest Touch the Sky flight, Jeremy dissuaded him. Later, Max questioned Jett about what his deal was with Jeremy. Stephanie was surprised to see Chelsea on board. She wondered if Chelsea would have ditched Jett as quickly as she had Nick to come to work. Chelsea insisted that she and Nick were still a couple and that there was nothing going on with Jett. After Steph split, Jett arrived anxious to talk about their almost kiss last night. Chelsea noted that nothing happened and she had a boyfriend. She asked Jett to stay out of their way. Later, Chelsea chatted with Max about Steph's situation with jerky Jeremy. Max noted that Jeremy was cheating on Steph with Ilsa and encouraged Chelsea to tell her. Chelsea was torn, since Steph was hooked on the jerk. Steph interrupted and was sure Chelsea and Max were talking about Jett. Chelsea called her clueless. Nick, Sami and Lucas freaked when they realized the flower arrangement Nick carried in was beeping. Nick raced outside, where it exploded. Lucas and Sami found Nick unconscious and called the paramedics. When Nick stirred, Lucas called him a hero for saving Sami and the twins. Nick couldn't remember anything about a bomb and thought he was there with Chelsea. Lucas noted that Nick had arrived alone to tell him and Sami something important. Nick had no idea what they were talking about. All he wanted was to find Chelsea. Sami said she'd left messages for Chelsea to meet them at the hospital. Suddenly, Nick recalled having a fight with Chelsea and announced that he'd lost her. When Nick headed to the bathroom, Sami and Lucas talked about the bomb obviously being sent by Stefano to kill them. When a paramedic arrived to take Nick to the hospital, he was gone. From the beach, Nick called Hope looking for Chelsea. Hope explained that Chelsea was in Las Vegas. Bo walked in and told Hope about the bomb at Sami and Lucas' place and Nick being injured. Hope put Bo on the phone with Nick, but he'd already hung up and made another call to book a flight to Vegas.
