Kayla looked through a box of Stephanie's old baby clothes. Steve came in
with Pocket. Kayla was happy that they were bonding. She said she was
looking to see if anything would fit Pocket. Steve said no girl clothes for
the boy. Steve then went to change Pocket and wound up with a wet shirt.
Kayla found an old bear of Steph's and got sentimental for her daughter's
childhood. Steve admitted that he feels cheated that he didn't see her grow
up. Kayla changed Pocket into a onesie that read "I Love Daddy," which
prompted Steve to make a face.
Aboard the Touch the Sky jet, Stephanie served a flirty, pushy passenger
named Mr. Lowell, then complained about him to Chelsea. "You let Jeremy
treat you like that all the time," Chelsea sniffed. Steph defended her beau.
The two bickered.
Jett sat down next to Max and revealed himself as a cop. "You're in some
serious heat," Jett said. Max was annoyed that Jett deceived him. Jett asked
more questions about the side business, but Max played dumb. Agent Carver
warned him that Jeremy was going down and that Max should be honest about
whatever he knows. Max insisted on keeping mum. Jett got up and went to the
galley to talk to Chelsea. "Shouldn't you be, like, flying the plane or
something?" she asked. He tried to explain why he didn't tell her he was an
ISA agent, but she wasn't interested in hearing what he had to say.
Mr. Lowell called Stephanie over and made lame excuses to keep her there. A
fed-up Steph dumped his food on him. Mr. Lowell started to yell at her and
grabbed her arm. Max stepped in and clocked him. Jett and Jeremy came to see
what the commotion was about. "Baby, did this guy put his hands on you?"
asked Jeremy, who was ready to pummell Lowell. Jett told Jer that the Vegas
police would handle it. Jeremy comforted Stephanie. Jett cuffed Lowell.
Jeremy asked where he got the hadrware. "They're my Uncle Abe's," Jett
covered, then said one of them had to get back to the cockpit before the
passengers got worried.
EJ peered into Lucas's hospital room and wasn't thrilled to see Sami by her
husband's side. Inside the room, Roman — who was still recovering
— questioned Sami, but she said she was only focused on Lucas waking
up. Roman assured her he'd be fine. Sami opened the door for Roman to exit.
Roman encountered Kate in the hallway, who asked about her son. Roman said
he'd be okay. EJ listened in on their conversation and was pleasantly
surprised to hear Kate refer to him as a hero. After, he called the Channel
6 news. Kate went inside and called to Lucas, who woke up. The women were
overjoyed. "I'm cold," he said. "What the hell happened?" Sami filled him in
and he recalled hearing a female voice outside of the freezer truck. Kate
revealed that EJ saved him. Enter EJ, with a news crew, and a reporter
calling him "Salem's hometown hero."
The reporter interviewed Sami, EJ and Lucas, then EJ walked him out. Lucas
was not pleased and suspected that EJ was involved with his "accident". EJ
returned and claimed Andre was behind it all. Sami and Lucas weren't so
sure. "What about you?" Lucas queried. EJ feigned innocence. Lucas still
wasn't convinced. Sami wanted to stay in the hospital with her husband; EJ
asked her to stay with him. Lucas barked that that would never happen. EJ
and Kate tried to change his mind. Sami insisted on staying with her
husband. EJ again offered his hospitality. Lucas lost it and tried to stand
up, but fell and was alarmed when he couldn't feel his legs. A frustrated
Lucas kicked everyone out. They continued their discussion outside. Roman
came up in time to hear Sami saying she wouldn't go home with EJ. Roman told
Wells to back off. The doctor arrived and said that Lucas's numbness was
temporary and a result of the hypothermia. Sami was relieved and went in to
see her husband. Once alone with EJ, Roman said that he suspected EJ wasn't
so innocent and that he'd be keeping an eye on him. After, Kate echoed the
sentiment, saying she'd strangle him if she found out he had anything to do
with harming Lucas.

Jeremy tried to get in touch with his father, Mike. Stephanie came upon him
and asked what was wrong. He said he was stressed that the Vegas cops were
after him and everything was falling apart. Steph professed her devotion to
him.
The delivery of baby essentials from Baby Depot arrived at the hotel where
Steve and Kayla live. Steve worried what would happen if the baby's parents
or grandparents came to claim him. Kayla insisted she wouldn't get too
attached, then went to tend to Pocket. She realized she didn't have any
formula and left the baby with Steve while she went to get some. Steph
arrived and found her father holding the baby and cooing. She asked what was
going on. He explained how Pocket came to live with them. "Wait a second.
You're adopting this kid?" she asked. He said no, that he was a foster
child. Kayla came back and Steph pouted that nobody told her. "Maybe
parenthood will work out for you this time," she said snidely, then
apologized. An upset Kayla said she didn't even recognize Steph anymore.
Steph began to cry and said that she's been a disappointment to her father
and maybe having the new baby was best for all of them. She ran out. Steve
handed the baby to Kayla so he could talk to his daughter in the hallway.
"You're my baby," he assured her. "You're my little sweetness. No one could
ever replace you." She was happy and told her father she loved him.
On her laptop, Chelsea watched a wedding video of Nick and China Lee. She
showed Nick when he arrived at the Pub. "I don't remember any of this," he
said, confused. "That's because you had that concussion," Chelsea reminded
him. China Lee strolled in. She went over to her husband's table and asked
if he had seen the DVD. He said he had. She remarked that she was a
picture-perfect bride. "If you're the bride of Satan," Chelsea replied.
China Lee pulled out pictures that her sons made for their new daddy.
Chelsea scoffed at her lame attempts to make her relationship with Nick seem
real and called her a gold-digging whore. Nick quieted Chelsea, then
explained to his wife that he had a head injury when he married her and
asked if they could get it annulled. She threatened to sue him for
abandonment. "You want to play hardball, China? I'm ready," Nick declared.
She asked for a cash payment to be done with him. She walked out. Chelsea
planted a big kiss on him. "That's for the real Nick Fallon finally standing
up for himself," she explained.
Jeremy tracked Max down at the Pub. "Take a hike," Max told him. Jeremy said
he needed Max's help and was desperate. Max was unconvinced and added that
Chelsea and Jett were on to Jer, too and it was only a matter of time before
Steph was. Jeremy said she could never find out, then admitted that the
designer clothes were a cover for smuggling women in from Eastern Europe.
Max was appalled. Jeremy insisted he didn't know what was going on at first.
He asked Max to help him make things right, then revealed that the man
behind the operation is Andre DiMera. Max suggested they call Bo and Roman,
but Jeremy said no. We're going to have to do things my way, Max said, then
announced that he wanted to set all the girls free before Andre found out.
"It's a bomb," Bo exclaimed about the toy truck in the church. He ran out
and threw the truck in the garbage; Hope called out to him to ask what was
going on. He told her to stay inside. Hope went back to the tabernacle and
tried the key. Andre crept up behind her. She got it to open. Inside, she
found a leather folio. Andre grabbed her — and the folio. Bo came in;
Hope hit Andre and threw the folio to Bo. Andre pulled Hope to him again and
held a knife to her neck. Bo slid the folio over to him, but Andre still
held her to torture Bo. Father Wallace came in during the standoff. Andre
made his escape. Bo went after him. Andre struck Bo from behind with the
knife then ran off. Inside, Hope apologized to the priest for going into the
tabernacle, but he said it hadn't been used in years and they thought it was
empty. Bo came in; Hope saw that he was bleeding. The priest went to get
bandages. Once alone, Bo suggested to Hope that they keep mum to everyone
but Abe and Roman about Andre's involvement and claim that the tabernacle
was empty. Bo noted they needed to get to Andre — and Salem
— before Andre got the folio to Stefano. "Our family's lives are
depending on it," he said.

Monday, August 13, 2007 In Indianapolis, Billie and Philip returned to Lauren's apartment, so she
hid in the bedroom. He retrieved his cell phone from the table. Billie
smelled perfume "and it ain't mine," she said. Belle and Shawn arrived
outside the door. Shawn asked if Belle believed that he had nothing to do
with the Lauren situation. Belle said she did. They knocked on the door.
Philip was surprised to see them. Shawn revealed that he was with Lauren on
July 4th. Phil was peeved. Shawn told him about Mimi's call and about how
Bonnie paid Lauren to keep the baby. Once Bonnie went to prison, Lauren
turned to Mimi for cash, Shawn explained. Philip reamed Shawn for keeping
quiet. Shawn admitted that he didn't believe Lauren's story and gave her
Philip's number to call her bluff. Philip still didn't understand why Shawn
wasn't truthful. They heard a noise in the other room and when they went in,
realized Lauren had been there and left through the window. Billie called
the detective she was working with in Indianapolis. Philip took off to look
for Lauren. Shawn lamented to Belle that he made everything worse by keeping
mum. Philip returned and he and Shawn faced off. "Oh, save it, Shawn. I know
what you're doing and why you're doing it. You're stuck living under my roof
watching me give Belle and Claire everything you wish you could, but you
can't because you're the same loser you've always been." Philip huffed.
Belle stepped in and hotly defended her fiancé. Philip asked Belle if she
knew about Lauren. She insisted she didn't. Shawn tried to apologize, but
Philip wasn't so ready to forgive and forget.
At the hospital, Kayla held the baby boy. Lexie and Abe looked dubious.
Lexie asked her if she was sure she wanted to take the tot home. What about
Steve, Abe asked. Kayla was optimistic that her husband would be on board.
Enter Steve. Kayla explained about how the baby's mother abandoned him and
he needed a home. Abe and Lexie vouched for the Johnsons to Mrs. Meyers from
Child Services and Abe offered to speak to Mrs. Meyers's boss, since there
were strict rules about the placement of children. After they left, Steve
remarked to Kayla that she blindsided him. He worried that when Child
Services looked into his past, they would no longer be good foster care
candidates. He also questioned his parental skills in light of his argument
with Stephanie. Kayla referred to the baby as "Pocket," explaining that he
was small enough to practically fit a pocket. "I guess that's better than
Benjy Part Two," Steve mused. "But not much. She tried to get Steve to hold
the baby, but he refused and told her to stop pushing him. She apologized
and pointed out that Pocket came into their lives for a reason, just like
Benjy, Max and Frankie did. He was still on the fence about being a new dad
again. She said she'd call Mrs. Meyers and say they changed their minds. He
stopped her, saying he was having warm memories of the day Steph was born.
Mrs. Meyers came in and said they were approved. A happy, teary Steve was
thrilled, then took the baby so he could get acquainted with him. Kayla left
with Mrs. Meyers to sign paperwork. Abe came in and found Steve chatting
with the baby. Kayla and Lexie arrived, too. Lexie took a "family photo"
with her cell phone camera.
Hope and Bo arrived at the church in Galway during a rainstorm. Bo teased
his wife for complaining about the wet weather. They looked for the
tabernacle. Bo noted that only a man/priest could open it. They spied a nun
praying, unaware that it was Andre in disguise. They went to look for the
priest and when they returned, saw that the nun was gone, but left big
footprints behind. Bo told Hope to stay and wait for the priest or the nun.
She said she knew he was concerned that Andre was around somewhere. He said
he was, then told her to be careful. Hope spied the tabernacle, unaware that
Andre was watching her. Bo returned, explaining it was raining so hard that
he didn't find anyone. Hope said they should just open the tabernacle
themselves. Bo agreed and put the key in. It wouldn't turn. Bo suggested it
was the wrong tabernacle or the wrong church. A little boy came in, toting a
knapsack, asking if they were the Bradys. They said yes, but asked how he
knew them. He reported that the priest sent him and is on his way. They
thanked him for telling them. He walked out, leaving the backpack behind.
Hope called after him, but the boy was gone. They opened the sack to see if
his address was in there. Bo pulled out a red toy truck and inspected it.
"Hope, it's ticking," he exclaimed.
