GH Recaps Week of Dec. 19, 2005

Friday, December 23, 2005
Carly discovered Emily talking to Dr. Kim at Rose Lawn and jumped to the conclusion that Em is the reason she can't go home. Dr. Kim clarified that Em was lobbying for Carly's release.

At G.H. Sonny and Sam argued with Alexis over her decision to defend Manny. Alexis compared Manny's brain anomaly to Jason's brain damage, which further angered Sam.

Courtney tended to a drunken a Jax at her loft. They had a tender talk about their baby, which was interrupted when Nikolas called from his hotel room in Europe. He told her to look for a gift under the Christmas tree and asked her to open it that night. Jax listened in as Court told Nick she loved him. When Jax said he'd go home, Court told him to sleep it off at her place since it was cold outside.

When Lainey stepped away from her table, Justus approached the handsome older man that she was dining with and found out that the gent is her father, Roger. Lainey returned and gave Justus the cold shoulder. Her father suddenly became confused and asked Lainey who she is. An awkward Justus returned to his seat. Lainey followed him to blast him for following her around and announced that her father has Alzheimer's. Afterward, Justus again followed Lainey as she took her dad home. She confessed that she'd broken their dates to take care of her dad on his bad days.

Lucky and Elizabeth wrapped presents and discussed their childhood Christmas memories. She talked about what kind of holidays their kids would have. Later she got turned on by his recitation of " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas."

Alan read the Christmas story to the children at G.H. Noah, who'd been drinking out of a flask, dressed up as Santa and talked to the kids. As Michael asked Santa about his mother, she arrived (with Emily in tow), much to Michael and Sonny's delight.... A miffed Patrick gave his boozed-up dad money to go home in a cab, and shared with Robin that his pop has been drinking since Patrick's mother died. Later on, Noah told his Patrick that he's proud of him and that his mother would be proud, too..... Carly brought Michael and Morgan to her new (and very brightly lit) house. Michael observed that she didn't have a tree. There was a knock at the door, it was Max, who dragged in a huge decorated tree and said he had presents in the car.

In Jason's hospital room, Sam gave him his present: metrosexual bath products — and a one-day pass out of his room.... Back at Casa Corinthos, Emily visited Sonny who was all by himself.

The show ended with a montage of GHers being Christmasy.

In the car, Ric told Kristina the tale of he and mommy getting their Christmas tree last year, and thinly disguised the fact that he was upset that Alexis brought work along with her. Alexis sat in the car and worked on Manny's case while Ric and Kristina cut down a tree. When they returned, though, Alexis thought it was kind of small and talked Kristina into getting another and donating that one to the hospital. Ric was less than pleased. Ric returned with another, bigger tree, but was crestfallen to realize that Alexis's laptop and cell phone had drained their car battery. As they bickered, a forest ranger wandered by — and gave them a citation for cutting down two trees. But, he had a change of heart and let the Lansings slide. They then headed to the hospital, so Alexis could meet with her client. Alexis and Manny discussed his case and his options. Meanwhile, Dara informed a shocked Jason and Sam that Alexis was representing Manny. Sam immediately chewed out Alexis for defending the man who tried to kill them all.

Georgie walked into the Quartermaine mansion to find Dillon hanging form a noose. She understandably panicked, but for no reason — it was part of his plan to drive Tracy insane and send him back to the dorms. Lulu entered to find Georgie kissing the hangman. "Whatever floats your boat," she scoffed. Dillon got upset that none of the Quartermaines, including his own mother, noticed him hanging from the ceiling. Meanwhile, Lulu upset the Q's by refusing to dress up like an elf for the hospital Christmas party. Alice helped get Dillon down while Tracy argued with Luke about Lulu's lack of participation. "I'd rather sleep on the streets," Lulu barked. Luke went into the drawing room and poured a drink while Skye pressed about what was bugging him. Luke shared a memory about seeing Laura for the first time in that elf suit, as Lulu eavesdropped in the hall. When Lulu showed up later dressed in the suit, Luke got teary-eyed.

At the nurses station, Justus caught Lainey running off to meet a man. He followed her and saw her kiss an attractive older man.

Courtney dropped off her Christmas present to Mike at Kelly's, while at Metro Court, Jax told a mysterious caller the money would be wired into his account. Skye bumped into Jax, who was drinking. He expressed remorse for something he'd done, but didn't want to spill. Jax lamented that Nikolas will be seeing more of his child than he will. Skye told him he needs to compromise, but Jax insisted that Court and Nik won't last. Back at Kelly's, just as Court told her dad that nothing was going to spoil her first Christmas with Nikolas, Emily entered with Michael. The women remained civil for Michael's benefit. Then, Nik called Court with bad news. He was stuck in Europe due to a malfunction with his plane and wouldn't make it home for Christmas. Needless to say, Court was bummed, as Jax lurked outside. Courtney returned to the loft, and met Jax at the door. He was drunk, and said he was sorry. "I still love you," he added. Jax then spilled his guts about his feelings for her and got all emotional, then offered to leave, until Court mentioned Nik was stranded in Europe. Court put Jax to bed (on the couch, silly), but while Court went to get him a blanket and he checked his cell phone messages, she determined Jax wasn't as drunk as he appeared. Uh-oh!

At the hospital, Jason was chided by Sam for getting out of bed. Sam found a way to remedy that situation, until Robin entered and asked for Jason's help. She wanted him to visit with Manny to see if Ruiz was lying or really was a changed man. Sam wasn't buying Robin's theory and didn't believe Manny had changed, but Jason wasn't so sure. Emily and Michael interrupted another JaSam makeout session with a tin of cookies. Michael mentioned that Carly wasn't going to make it home for Christmas, and was disappointed to learn that Jason wasn't going to be released for the holiday either. Luckily, Jason gave the kid a pep talk and a hug. Afterward, Emily went to Rose Lawn and asked Dr. Kim to let Carly go home for Christmas. Meanwhile, Jason accompanied Robin to see Manny.

Dillon barged into the Quartermaine mansion and railed at Tracy that he got evicted from the dorms because she didn't pay the rent or fees. That's because he's moving back home to keep an eye on Lulu, she retorted.

Patrick explained to a repentant Manny that his criminal behavior was because of his brain anomaly. Dara arrived to take the patient to prison, but Patrick wouldn't hear of it. Dara then dropped in on Alexis with the news that she had been picked to defend Manny. Alexis made a beeline to G.H. and told Manny that she hoped he got the death penalty. After seeing Manny's remorse and consulting with Robin and Patrick about his brain disorder, Alexis took the case.

At Rose Lawn, Carly pleaded with Dr. Kim and Lainey to let her leave in time for Christmas and knocked over a tree while chasing after Dr. Kim. He used the accident as further proof she wasn't ready to go home. Lainey urged Carly to stay there and focus on what's best for her and the boys. Carly called Sonny and apologized that she wouldn't be home for the holiday.

While dining with Courtney at Kelly's, Nikolas received an urgent business call and agreed to fly to Europe that night. He insisted that all business had to be completed before Christmas. Before leaving P.C., Nik dropped by the Q manse where he brought Lulu a present and they expressed sadness that Laura can't be with them.... Courtney visited Carly, who broke the news about having to stay at Rose Lawn. Courtney then dropped in to see Sonny and told him that she planned to spend Christmas with Nikolas. Sonny made it clear that Cassadine is not welcome at his holiday celebration.

Jax had a mysterious phone conversation with a man who promised to do what the Aussie wanted.

A teary Carly shared with Lainey her fears that Emily was taking her place as a mother. In the meantime, Emily shared a warm and fuzzy moment around the Christmas tree with Sonny, Michael and Morgan.

Outside Kelly's, Alexis ordered Max and Milo to break up the bickering Jax and Nikolas. Back inside, Alexis tried to talk down Jax, while Michael acted all "King of the Mountain" with the waitress by returning his vegetables and ordering french fries instead. As the evening went from bad to worse, the kids ran wild in the restaurant while Jax threatened Courtney with legal action if her behavior endangers their baby. Nik and Alexis tried to intervene, but a shouting match ensued.

At the hospital, Robin broke up Sonny's attempt to bribe Patrick to kill Manny on the operating table. Robin said it's up to the Justice system to punish Manny, not them. Knowing he was fighting a losing battle, Sonny walked out. Patrick told Robin he wouldn't blemish his surgical record that way, anyway.

In the O.R., Manny, who still managed to creepily flirt with Sam while she was smothering him, was saved by Jason. "Manny has to die!" Sam argued, to no avail. Afterward, Patrick told Manny about his condition and what they were planning to do. When Manny saw Robin, he ordered her out, but Patrick stuck up for his colleague. In Jason's room, Sonny, Sam and Jason compared notes and made fun of Dr. Ego and the Queen of Ethical Behavior. Then, Max called and yelled that Sonny was needed at Kelly's, Stat!

Rick bumped into Elizabeth at the nurse's station, where he filled her in about how happy he is being a dad. He also apologized for his boorish behavior at her wedding. (Good job, Ric. It's about time!) They had a warm moment, reminiscing about their past together, then went their separate ways. Sigh.... Ric visited Jason, and informed him he was no longer Sonny's attorney. Ric said he needed some signatures before turning over the paperwork to Justus. Brain damaged or not, Jason was smart enough not to sign anything without reading it first. "Ric, when I look at you, all I see is Carly chained to a wall," stated Jason. "I liked you better when you were dying," replied Ric.

In the elevator, Carly and Emily squared off. Carly pointed out that any future she and Sonny would have would destroy Sonny and Jason's friendship. Despite her crazy tone, Carly actually had a point, but Emily held her ground. As Sonny left the hospital, he ran into the ladies coming out of the elevator. After hearing of the calamity at Kelly's, Carly demanded to accompany her ex, much to Lainey's chagrin. Em told Lainey that she can stop looking for any more improvement with her patient — this is as sane as Carly gets. Lainey returned to Rose Lawn, met with Dr. Kim and resigned from Carly's case. Her superior, however, refused the resignation.

During Manny's surgery, Patrick ignored Robin's advice, and Manny's condition on the table worsened. Then, when Patrick heeded Robin's advice, Manny rallied, but Patrick found a strange distortion in Manny's brain. In the meantime, spitfire Sam complained about Manny to Jason, who wisely replied that she needed to let go of her hate. Lucky showed up, saying that if Manny dies, Jason is going to be arrested for murder. Lucky told the couple that he doesn't care if Manny dies, either, but they can't kill him. Now what? the gang pondered.

At Kelly's, Sonny and Carly arrived to pandemonium. Nik and Court decided to go home. Alexis told Jax to go; she needed to talk to Sonny. She then told he and Carly that she doesn't want Kristina anywhere near Carly. They all argued. "Your children are out of control and overindulged," Alexis shot at them. The grownups piped down, though, when they spotted the kids staring at them through the window. Back inside, the parents all made nice and the families went home, but Alexis was still stressed.

At the loft, Nik questioned how far she'd go to make peace with Jax. Would she return to him? Nik queried.... Alexis vented to Ric about her family ties to Sonny.... Carly attempted to bribe Max into taking her back to Sonny's, but Max resisted her tempting offer of unlimited room service at Metro Court.... Sonny and the boys were both thrilled to find Emily at home waiting for them.... When Robin told Jason and Sam that Manny was out of surgery, Jason advised her to never be alone with the creep.... Alexis freaked when Kristina showed Molly Michael's violent video and went "Bang, Bang" .... Dr. Kim told Carly that her escapades on the outside have cost her her Christmas privileges.... Jason and Sam caught Patrick's press conference on TV, where he stated that Manny's violent behavior was all due to his brain tumor.... Lucky escorted Robin to see a recovering Manny, who woke up and ... apologized!

At the PCPD, Manny was unconscious on the ground after Diego saved Maxie and Georgie's life from the gun-stealing madman. Dillon's arm was grazed, but he was okay. Georgie thanked Diego for saving her life, and Alcazar demanded a moment with his son. Mac granted the request. Alcazar told Diego that he planned to call in a favor, but Diego insisted that he didn't want any special treatment and was prepared to pay for his crimes. Alcazar offered the kid some tips on surviving prison life and hugged his son before he was led away. "I'm sorry," Diego said back.

At Kelly's, Courtney came clean with Jax about getting the second DNA test. Nikolas admitted that they suspected the first set of test results could have been switched. Jax was shocked and angered by the accusation. "You go ahead and look at your results," he barked. "I already know what it says." Court opened the envelope and the winner was.... yep, it's still Jax's baby, all right. Court and Nik realized there was no way Jax could have switched these results. The lovers admitted their disappointment, but vowed to stick it out together.

At Casa de Corinthos, Emily packed her things and was ready to say good-bye. Emily thanked Sonny for everything he has done, and Sonny expressed his gratitude for her help with the boys. They exchanged an awkward hug. Em slowly walked out the door with bag in hand. Just then, Sonny said, "Don't go! The boys need you. I need you." SURPRISE! It was just Emily's fantasy. She left and went to the hospital, where she asked Elizabeth to stop interceding on her and Nikolas's behalf. Liz insisted they'd still find their way back to each other, but promised no more set-ups. Liz was surprised to hear that Em moved out of Sonny's. Em pointed out that with Carly coming home for Christmas, she wasn't needed there anymore.

At G.H., Patrick called Robin on her control issues regarding patient care. Noah showed up, stating that he was the one who cancelled the scheduled surgery, not Robin. Noah called Patrick's planned procedure too radical, but Patrick accused his father of professional jealousy. At Jason's beside, Carly vowed that she's done needing a man, and Emily walked in on their conversation. Lainey showed up just in time to whisk Carly off to Rose Lawn before the girls could have at it. Em then told Jason that she moved out of Sonny's, and admitted that she is developing feelings for the lug. Jason advised Em to walk away from Sonny for good.

At Sonny's, Alexis showed up and Sonny informed her that Emily was gone. Alexis was disappointed, citing the Em's presence was reassuring to her. As Max and Michael played video games, a harried Alexis found herself overwhelmed with watching the kids. She placed a call, and later showed up with the kids at Kelly's for ice cream with Jax. Court broke the news to Jax about the second set of test results. He was still ticked off, though. Michael was happy to hear Courtney was pregnant, but told the bickering adults to take their fight outside. Jax and Nik did, and argued more on the patio.

When Manny was wheeled into the hospital, Lucky asked Liz to go home, but she said no matter what Manny did to her, he's still a patient. Patrick and Noah then sparred over Manny's condition, while Sam called Sonny and gave him the 411. Sonny arrived at the hospital where he ran into Carly, who called him on kicking Emily out of the house. "I knew it," she accused. "You're falling in love with her." They argued, and Emily overheard Sonny say that she was indeed the kind of woman he could fall in love with. As Carly and Lainey were leaving, Carly and Emily shared an elevator and had it out over Sonny. Meanwhile, Sonny offered Patrick a bribe to see that Manny didn't survive his surgery. Robin interrupted the transaction.

Now admitted to G.H., Dillon was cracking jokes about "dodging a bullet," but Georgie and Liz were not amused. When Georgie cited Diego's act of heroism, Dillon pointed out that saving the commish's daughter was an easy way to score points. Later, Maxie apologized to Georgie for coming down so hard on her about Diego. The sisters hugged and made up.

Noah examined Jason and gave him heck for not resting and for having a constant stream of visitors. Noah then made off with Jason's Chinese food. Sam followed Sonny's advice and kept Jason in the dark about Manny's presence in the hospital. Then, Sam walked into the O.R. in scrubs and told Manny he's going to pay for everything he has done. As she held a pillowcase over his face, Manny blew Sam a kiss. Just as Sam started to smother Manny, Jason entered and stopped her.
