GH Recaps Week of January 9, 2006

Friday, January 13, 2006
A waffling Sam suggested she and Jason just "continue the way we are." "Forget Alexis," scowled Jason. If Sam wanted babies, then they'd have babies! At the loft, Nikolas and Courtney snuggled — and Nik proposed! At GH, Patrick, uncaring of Mob etiquette, told Emily that "Mr. Corinthos" was threatening to break his hand. At the Qs, Luke feared that he would be charged with attempted murder if the cocktail shaker was found. Tracy sped away from the mansion and skidded off the road! Nik suggested he and Courtney fly off to get her a quickie divorce (where Jax had flown Courtney so she could divorce AJ) and named off incentives to becoming the next Mrs. Cassadine (like making an enemy of Helena?). Sam asked an ornery Jason what he wanted. Did he want a family? Back at GH, Emily blasted Sonny for giving Patrick a hard time and Sonny fired back about Patrick's ego and sexual reputation (Hello, Pot, this is Kettle!). Luke and the gang showed up to where Tracy's car had gone over a guardrail. Luke looked for his "Spankybuns" to no avail while Dillon angsted.

Courtney just wasn't certain she could marry Nikolas. "We're going in circles," Sam admitted, as she and Jason, well, went in circles about having kids. "Let's do it. Let's start a family," said Jason decisively. At GH, Emily told Sonny to butt out of her business. "You don't understand! I do care about you!" spat Sonny, mentioning how great she was with the kids. Disgusted, Emily walked away. Mac arrived on scene and tried to comfort Dillon, wondering if he should've taken Tracy's charges seriously. Meanwhile, Luke was back at the Qs, deciding to take Anthony Geary's winter vacation rather than face the cops. "Follow your heart and give me an honest answer," Nik urged Courtney at the loft. It was a joyous "yes!" Jax popped by GH looking for Emily. He and Patrick noted Sonny's flowers again. (Jax, wisely, kept mum about his own clashes with the mobster over women.) Emily stormed into the penthouse, interrupting Jason and Sam. Back at Greystone, Sonny found Liz waiting. He cut short the Emily lecture and told her, "I get the message." Liz needed "the biggest favor I will ever ask of you." (More airtime for Lucky?) At the crash site, the cops found the rat poisoned cocktail shaker. Luke wondered if Tracy was trying to frame him for attempted murder but still wanted to skip town.

Liz's favor: Please be careful with Emily. Sonny told her he wasn't going to hurt Em because he wasn't going to be with her. Emily accused Jason of asking Sonny to stay away from her. He deflected and warned her, "Just be careful of getting hurt!" Jax continued to lurk around GH and Liz charged him to "face reality" about his marriage and do what was best for his child. Elsewhere, Georgie comforted a crushed Dillon, who talked about his mom in the past tense. At the mansion, Skye lashed out at Luke for running out on her yet again, telling him it wasn't fair. Lulu just bid her dad good-bye. "Take care of yourself, Sweet Pea," Luke said, kissing her and departing. Sam used Emily's visit to illustrate Jason's passive-aggression (i.e. Jason says it's "your choice" but really means "I'll hate your choice so don't make it."). Emily brought her wrath and the floral arrangement to Sonny's. "If you want me, you need to say so," she told him. Forget Carly. Forget Jason. "And just tell me how you feel." Jax learned that Courtney and Nikolas had skipped town as the duo cuddled on the Cassadine jet. At the Qs, Mac informed everyone about the poisoned cocktail shaker. A call from Danny interrupted Jason and Sam's talk and Sam mused, "Maybe we shouldn't have kids after all." Back at Sonny's, Emily was sick of his party line about his messy life. She tried to get through to him, ending with, "I don't want to leave but I will if that's what you really want." When Sonny remained silent, she moved to go. He stopped her, pulled her close inch by inch, and kissed her...

At the Qs, Tracy tried to avoid her suddenly murderous hubby as Alice came up behind her with a rifle and fired! "Rats!" announced Luke. "We had a nasty infestation." He shook rat poison as Tracy clutched a drink. "I'm not going to be party to this insanity!" she announced, as Luke said suspicious things about killing the "rodent queen." Wackiness ensued when Tracy intercepted more poison and guessed Luke was trying to kill her. She called Mac! "I love my little Spankybuns to death," defended Luke, while Dillon wrote it off as one of their "weird kinky little married couple games." Mac opened the rat poison Tracy got in the mail and found...birdseed! Not amused (unlike the rest of us), Mac left. "I'm on to you, you snake!" Tracy huffed to Luke. "Snakes eat rats, don't they?" Luke mused. Lulu and Skye bonded and Alice revealed she'd miss Mr. Luke because he brought light "into my heart." Luke scattered rat poison around Tracy's usual martini shaker...and a shadowy figure came by. Hmm. Then, Tracy drank from her martini and "discovered" the rat poison. "Now I have proof!" she cackled, running to the PCPD. Afterwards, Alice noticed something "weird" in the glass. Oh, no! Had Luke really poisoned her? Luke ran from the mansion, panicked, screaming Tracy's name...

Det. Rodriguez informed Sonny about an "incident" at Jake's the night before. He recounted Em and Patrick's bar fight with the guy who'd had a beef with Sonny and Jason. At GH, Robin wondered if Patrick was jealous of Em's flowers and Nikolas definitely was. He snidely read the name on the card aloud. Sonny assured Rodriguez that he didn't know anything about the fight, playing it cool, but called Max the minute the cop left. Back at GH, Patrick assured Robin he made other guys jealous and wondered why she cared so much. "Do what you want. It's your funeral," she shrugged. Emily cut down Nikolas' speculation while, at Jake's, Sonny arrived to make things clear to Coleman: "What happened last night never happens again." Lucky and Liz, who were there playing pool and being cute, witnessed the tense exchange. Sonny walked over to them to get the 411 on Patrick. After Sonny left, Liz noted, "This isn't good. I think Sonny is falling for Emily, too." Sure enough, next, Sonny and Max came to GH to strong-arm the ever-so popular Patrick. Uh-oh! A little bored, Patrick wanted Sonny to get to the point. Sonny commented on Pat's "nice hands" and how "extremely painful" hand injuries could be. Sonny would "take it personally" if a "wonderful woman" like Emily got hurt. Emily strolled up, boggling at the strange scene.

At the loft, Carly's sage advice to Courtney was for her to get away from both Jax and Nik ASAP! At the station, Alexis didn't want Sam arrested for slapping her — but Sam didn't want to owe Alexis one, so, no thanks! "Pick any location in the world!" Carly encouraged Courtney. She could have her baby in peace. Alexis took Sam aside, telling her, "I know that you think you've found the Holy Grail in Jason but you haven't." Sam refused the advice of someone who "got knocked up by a mobster." (Irony alert!) Back at the loft, Courtney decided to stick around town for Nikolas but Carly kept her offer open. Alexis refused to back down about Jason's life. "Is that the kind of environment you want your children to come up in?" Enraged Jason suggested Ric remove his wife very quickly...so Ric and Alexis departed for the Metro Court. Carly walked up to boot them out. Alexis assumed it was because she'd had Jason arrested. Hearing this, Carly threw a drink in her face. "What the hell is this, Attack My Wife Day?" Ric gasped. (Yes.) As Carly clashed with the duo, Jax nixed the booting order. At the PCPD, Justus got Jason freed — but Sam was bummed after they returned home. "So, Alexis did get to you?" Jason wondered. Carly appeased Jax with the promise of Courtney and his baby on a silver platter while Nikolas and Courtney kissed and made up at the loft. Alexis and Ric talked about her having Kristina and its repercussions. Alexis shared that if she'd gotten through to Sam, it would be worth the slap. At the penthouse, Sam wondered if she and Jason needed to "forget the whole thing" when it came to babies...

At the Metro Court, Luke demanded Carly cough up his "finder's fee" ASAP. His urgency became clear when Jax informed them he was taking back Carly's half of the hotel. At GH, Emily and Patrick's morning-after-the-date lateness caused Robin, Liz, and Courtney to speculate. "Dr. Slime," snarked Robin, disparaging Patrick and guessing that the date had bombed (she SO wants him) — until Patrick and Em emerged from the elevator laughing! At Jake's, Lucky told Nikolas that Emily had been involved in a bar fight there. Coleman confirmed the shocking news. Back at GH, Jesse told Alexis he heard Jason threaten Manny. Elsewhere, Sam awoke from a nightmare about Manny holding her baby daughter. Patrick smugly greeted "Dr. Sourpuss," Robin, as Emily told Courtney, "Nikolas and you aren't the only ones capable of moving on." Ouch! Coleman recounted that some guy got in "Little Miss Rich Pants"'s face about Jason. "Back out gracefully," Jax told Carly, citing that Luke's blackmail over him was a moot point now. A determined Carly urged Luke to find *new* leverage against her partner — and then opted to handle Jax herself. "I want my life back in my control!" fumed Sam at Jason after relating her dream. At Jake's, Coleman's story continued (in flashbacks): Some Guy grabbed Emily and scoffed at Patrick's more "hands off" approach; then Patrick threw pool balls at him and Em coshed him with a pool cue. "That girl can hold her own," complimented Coleman. "No wonder her date was smiling when they left."

Back at GH, Patrick flirted with his new partner-in-crime, "Slugger," over her impulsive behavior as an irritated Robin blatantly eavesdropped. "It's the people who overthink...who wind up paralyzed," sighed Patrick for Robin's benefit (he SO wants her). At the PCPD, Lainey evaluated Manny, Ric and Justus groused about Manny, and Alexis brought paperwork to charge Jason with trying to kill Manny (he's a popular guy.). Sam wanted to focus on having a baby with Jason, who wasn't so hot on the idea now that he wasn't dying. He covered by worrying about Sam's health. At the hospital, a twitchy Nikolas got the skinny on Patrick from Robin and Liz and interrupted Patrick and Emily's flirting. Patrick told Em's ex he would happily make the fiery girl "even hotter" and punches were exchanged — hurting Patrick's magic fingers! At the Qs, a victorious Tracy told Lulu, Dillon, and Luke that Jax had called and Luke no longer had financial leverage over her. At Metro Court, Carly listened to Courtney kvetch about her Jax-Nikolas-paternity issues and advised, "Leave Nikolas. Run, don't walk...back to Jax." Tracy laid down new, restrictive, house rules for the gang. Dillon hoped Luke had a great plan to take care of "Genghis Mom."

Courtney boggled at Carly's advice and lashed out, assuming that Carly wanted the Courtney-Jax reunion so Nik would go back to Emily and, thus, free up Sonny. (Convoluted, isn't it?) At the station, Lainey's evaluation of Manny was that he "gives me the creeps." At the penthouse, Sam made a good case for babies and Jason seemed to relent — just as Det. Rodriguez arrived to arrest him for trying to off Manny. At the Qs, the gang moped about Tracy's reign o' terror and Dillon, inspired by the movie Suspicion, suggested Luke make Tracy believe he was trying to kill her so she would back off. At the loft, Nikolas and Courtney fought over his interest in Emily's life and her fixation on Jax's. At the Metro Court, Carly waved her "white flag" at Jax, offering to "nudge" Courtney in his direction. Luke put the Suspicion plot into action, silkily threatening Tracy...who was definitely unnerved. Liz met up with Lucky at Jake's for lighter Spencer courtship: pool and dancing. At the hospital, Nikolas apologized to Emily and a hand brace-wearing Patrick as a ginormous floral arrangement arrived for Emily. Were they from Nik? Nope. Patrick? Wrong again. Sonny? Ding, ding! Carly and Courtney traded apologies, too, and Carly revealed she had a solution for her pal's romantic woes. At the PCPD, Sam arrived to defend her man and Durant informed her that it was Alexis who'd had Jason arrested. Uh oh. When Alexis told Sam, "that's what you do" when someone attempts murder, Sam slapped the legal eagle!

Carly smooched Sonny as "a reminded of what Emily could never give you." Sonny promised not to hurt her again and Carly claimed she's strong enough to walk away. Sonny admitted missing her, but accepted that being together is bad for her. Carly insisted she'll be okay, and wants him to be okay. They agreed not to butt into each other's business.

Manny balked at fleeing with Enrique. "I'm not that man anymore," he said, and insisted he wanted to stand trial. When Enrique threatened him with a gun, Manny used Manny-fu to drop him, but in the process let Jason get the drop on Manny. "This is for Sam," Jason said, but he was interrupted by Ric and Alexis. Then the cops arrived to tend to Jesse, who was face-down in the snow. Manny let a tear fall down his cheek and recapped events for Lucky. Jesse then demanded that Jason surrender the weapon in his hand, and arrested him. D.A. Durant was mysteriously hanging around the police station when Jason was brought in, and Carly demanded Jason's release. This time Ric recapped the action. Alexis pointed out Manny didn't run, which didn't impress Durant — he figured Sonny sent Jason to cap Manny but it went wrong. Jason backed Ric's story, so Durant freed Jason. Jason ran home to Sonny and recapped (AGAIN). Sonny worried that Jason was buying Alexis' bull about Manny changing.Meanwhile, Sam met Carly at the police station. A uniform relayed a message that Manny asked to talk to Carly. In the interrogation room, Manny said, "There's something I need from you." Back at the house, Sonny recapped Manny's litany of evil (AGAIN), and insisted Manny needs to die. Jason said killing him is the easy part — but he might not be able to get away.

Jax admitted rigging the paternity test because he didn't want Courtney and baby in constant danger from the Cassadines. He was sorry, but the new test verified he's the daddy anyway. Courtney sent Jax away, and told Nikolas she won't let Jax manipulate her again. Nik pointed out he just did and gave her an ultimatum: Jax or me. Court suggested that fighting is precisely what Jax wanted, and fled to Kelly's to cry.

At GH, Emily vowed to date the next man who walked off the elevator: It was Dr. McDreamy Jr., Patrick. She threw herself at him, laying the giggling on thick. Patrick said, "You are gorgeous, smart, available and just my type." (Picky, ain't he?) Too bad he isn't interested in rebounds, prompting Emily to swear off men. Elizabeth assured her she's better off without him. Emily recapped (groan!) her recent humiliations and wondered how she managed to chase off the hospital wolf (Hint: Try shutting up for three minutes.) But McDreamy Jr. proved deaf, because he came back and asked if she was "off the rebound yet?" then asked her out. Robin passed by just in time to witness her acceptance. Then Jesse was rolled into the ER, and Robin fetched Patrick for emergency surgery, ruining their date plan. Robin expressed wonder at Emily dating Patrick, but Emily called him "a diversion." She doesn't have a boyfriend, just a complicated figment of her imagination. Robin gasped, "Omigod, it's not Sonny, is it?" Emily babbled on and on and on that it wasn't, then fled. Later, Georgie and Dillon comforted Maxie and Patrick appeared to say he (and not God) had saved Jesse — for now. When Mac arrived Maxie blamed him for giving Jesse the most dangerous assignments. Mac said Jesse volunteered, and besides, getting shot comes with the job.

Elizabeth found Nik in the woods (why are they in the woods?), where Nik recapped (AGAIN!). Elizabeth said she could understand where Jax was coming from and recapped (groan!) being pregnant with Jax's baby. Later, Emily found Nik in the woods (sigh, why was she in the woods?) and offered to listen to his problems, but they were interrupted when Patrick found them in the woods (Why...?). Nik left disgusted (as did your recapper...).

Ric and Alexis recapped Manny's case over coffee. Ric admitted he cannot forgive Manny for the train wreck. Alexis had a sudden memory about being 16 then changed the subject. Ric asked what if Manny is faking it? At that moment, Manny asked Carly if she could find it in her heart to forgive him. Before she could answer Sam burst in and warned her not to believe this liar.

Jason's threats against Alexis weren't even thinly veiled as he and Ric clashed. Inside the penthouse, Sam and Alexis didn't mince words about Manny either. And where was Alexis' gratitude for Sam's baby giving life to Kristina? (Why is that relevant?) At GH, Durant and Jesse introduced Manny to a faux Manny. Elsewhere, Robin prickled at Carly winking and nudging about Patrick — so Dr. Dimples took it one step further and the duo smooched for Robin's benefit. At Greyskull, Em and Sonny pulled back from their own illicit liplock. "I'm sorry," Sonny murmured, promising a bummed Emily it wouldn't happen again. Back at GH, Nikolas and Jax snarked about Courtney's latest appointment with Dr. Lee. Durant explained to Manny that he was being transferred (in a way that his daughter Carly would probably approve of) and FauxManny was a decoy! Alexis tried to explain to Sam (again) about the legal system but Sam kept guilting her about her baby and then hoped that the guilt trip had hit home with the attorney. Patrick told Robin he'd moved on, like she'd told him to. The peeved Dr. Scorpio stormed off and Dr. Drake wondered why Carly had orchestrated the scene. Emily was embarrassed after Sonny let her down easy, agreeing that the kiss "meant nothing." When the up-for-action Patrick offered to make their charade a reality, an uninterested Carly booted him out.

At GH, Robin confided her day's woes to Liz: first that fight with Jason and then witnessing Patrick's "house call." Liz chuckled that the miserable duo of Carly and Patrick "deserved" each other. Jason told Sam, "don't count on it," when it came to changing Alexis' mind. At GH, Durant informed Alexis about Manny's transfer. Back at Chez Corinthos, Sonny and Emily got awkwardly close as their said their angsty goodbyes and he loaned Em his coat. "Be careful," Sonny warned. (No kidding!) At the hospital, much Nik, Jax, and Courtney kvetching ensued. Nik left on a mission for butterscotch brownies and Liz informed Courtney that Dr. Meadows was out of her coma and asking for her. Sam tried to woo Jason into a bath with jasmine oil — and no bubbles — but Max interrupted with news of the Mannyhattan Transfer. Jason came out of the closet (not like Lucas) with his gun. A teary Emily returned to the Set of the Day (a lone dock in the snow) and flashed back on the hot Soily kiss. Naturally, Nik walked up. "I will take the cold lonely sheets any day!" Robin assured, nixing the option of ever sleeping with Patrick. "Seriously, Patrick...I mean, Carly?" she marveled. "You're adorable when you're jealous!" Dr. Dimples beamed.

Sonny dropped by to see Michael, who informed him of Patrick's visit. "Whaaatever," Sonny drawled when Carly touted Pat's "bedside manner." Observant Carly noticed a long Emily-ish hair on Sonny's coat. Uh-oh! Robin tried to warn Patrick that Jason and Sonny might kill him over Carly. In fact, the only worse choice would be: "Jason's sister, Emily." Speaking of the she-devil, she covered her Sonny-related misery in front of Nikolas. Back at GH, Courtney looked a bit strange as she emerged from Dr. Meadows' room but agreed to go for a walk with Jax...to the Lone Dock. Jax assured her, "my intentions toward you are honest." Emily arrived at GH for a late shift and spilled to Liz about smooching Sonny. Manny's cousin launched an attack on the transfer van, shooting JumpStreet Jesse and the guards as Jason lurked in the bushes. But Manny refused to go! When his pissed off "primo" hauled him out at gunpoint, Manny socked him. He turned, only to face Jason's gun! On the Snowy Dock, Courtney slapped Jax and said she knew he'd altered her paternity test results. Em and Liz dished the Sonny kiss and a frazzled Emily decided she needed to move on. In fact, she'd ask out the first guy that came off the elevator! Ding! It was Patrick! The ladies checked him out as he passed through. At Carly's, Sonny defensively praised his babysitter/girlfriend and demanded Carly give him reasons why Soily would fail. Reason #1 was obvious: Carly planted a sizzling kiss on her ex.
