Nikolas warned Courtney not to trust Jax and told her that he cares about her. Later, Court overheard as Jax told Justus about his plan to divorce Courtney and make sure she didn't get the baby or any of his money. In the meantime, Emily told Nik she didn't love him anymore and no longer trusts him. Courtney made a beeline to Nikolas, who was alone. She apologized for not believing him and said she was better off without Jax. They ended up in a kiss.

A gun-toting Sam burst into Jason's hospital room and ordered Alan to stay away from Jason. After Morgan got out of his hospital bed and headed out, he ran into Sonny. Corinthos questioned Jason about Carly's whereabouts, but Jason was hostile and uncommunicative. In the meantime, Sam chastised Alan, whom she accused of trying to hurt Jason. Alan insisted that he was trying to save Jason's life and Sam agreed to go find him. Sam located Jason at home and urged him to return to the hospital for tests. He consented and went back to G.H. Monica and Alan were relieved.

In Florida, Reese administered mouth-to-mouth on Carly and pleaded with her not to die. Carly came to and smacked Reese, who continued to try to reason with her and make amends. Reese assured Carly they'd be safe in the shack. Little did she know that a paranoid Carly had an inner monologue going on about how Reese was trying to kill her. Meanwhile, Ric, who was in a medical clinic in Florida phoned Sonny, who raced down to the Sunshine State in record time. As Ric and Sonny searched for the women, Carly crept up behind Reese with a knife.

Nikolas overheard Justus talking on his cell phone about divorce, and asked if he was talking to Emily. (Even though he secretly knew it was Jax.) Justus jumped down Nik's throat for his shabby treatment of his cousin and said he'll never find anyone as good as Emily, then walked away.

A sweats-clad Courtney stretched on the docks at night after a run, and ran (pardon the pun) into Liz. Court reported she and Jax are much stronger now. Liz was happy for her, but she did mention that Lucky is suspicious of Jax's motives. Court said Lucky's just being paranoid. Jax would never string her along. Then, Jax bounded up and Court spilled to Jax what Liz said. Jax played it off. He later ran across Nikolas at Kelly's, where Nik detailed Jax's secret plan to stay with Court ‘til the baby's born and then dump her. Jax punched Nik (again), but this time, Nik fought back. Jax's hand was cut when it went through Kelly's window, and Court arrived and shouted at Nik to back off. Court took Jax to the hospital to get stitches, where Liz asked Court if the boys were fighting over her. She claimed not to know, but vowed it wouldn't happen again. Later on the docks, Nik spilled to Court that Jax is lying to her. Court accused Nik of manipulating her and accused him of being the one stringing her along.

Sam returned and Emily informed her that Jason is in town, and Carly has had a nervous breakdown. At the Q manse, Monica told Jason the truth about how he left them years ago. His parents then helped Jason piece together his past with Sam, Sonny and his life-changing accident. Monica begged Jason to get his head examined (literally) but Jason shouted, "No doctors!" and stormed out. Alan blamed Monica for Jason leaving, then Emily arrived and broke up their argument. Em filled in the folks about Jason's condition, and the docs feared that Jason could suffer an aneurism and die. Jason went to the Penthouse and searched for clues to his past. He found a gun in a locked box in his desk. Sam caught up with Jason and he expressed shock and disgust at the life he lived. Em arrived. When Jason refused to go to the hospital, he suffered a seizure. Jason was rushed to GH, where Alan ordered him to be put in restraints. Jason woke up and demanded to be released. Alan refused and was about to give him a sedative when a gun-toting Sam walked and ordered Alan to put the sedative down.

At their old abandoned high school, Reese told Carly she was there to take her home, but Carly accused her of stealing Sonny away from her. Reese told Carly that the whole town had been abandoned and relocated because the city built a new dam and the area was going to be flooded at midnight that night. They reminisced about their high school days, and just when Reese thought Carly had calmed down, Carly threw her into the lockers, knocking her unconscious. Ric showed up and Reese came to. Together they set off to find Carly. Unbeknownst to them, Carly returned to Reese's childhood home, where she had recalled Reese's dad kissing her and laying her down on the bed. After, Carly regretted having sex with Mr. Roberts, but he assured her no one would find out. Just then, Charlotte/Reese walked in and found them. Cut to present: Carly cried as Reese found her. Carly apologized for the past, and told her exactly what happened; this time Reese was the one who freaked out, refusing to believe that her father was a creepy pedophilic bum. Ric was the voice of reason and said her father was the adult and should have known better. Reese cried in Ric's arms, saying her dad killed himself because of what happened. Just then, the gang heard the rush of water — the flooding had begun!

Lucas admitted to slipping the envelope containing nude photos of Brook Lynn under the door, but claimed he had no idea what was inside — he just found it and brought it up to her. Maxie stuck up for Lucas, Dillon whisked Georgie away from the commotion, then Brook arrived and Maxie handed over the envelope. Naturally, Brook got upset. After Maxie calmed her down, the stalker called and Maxie read him/her/it the riot act. At Kelly's, Dillon and Georgie tried to guess the identity of the stalker, but Jesse remained suspicious of Lucas. Some drip asked Georgie if she was going to run for student council. "Nah." But after that non-incident, Georgie had a dizzy spell. Jesse noted that judging by the picture, the stalker had an expensive camera — just like Diego's.

Sonny sent out search parties to find Carly, just as Bobbie had discovered her hiding outside Kelly's. Bobbie actually got to be a mom and comforted Carly, but not for long, as Carly grew paranoid again and ran off. At home, Sonny vented his frustration to Reese, who offered to go look for her herself. Unbeknownst to the family, Jason showed up on the property and hid out. Reese caught up with Carly on the docks, but couldn't talk sense into her babbling head. Then Jason showed up and got Carly away from Reese. The former fed returned to Sonny and reported that Carly was incoherent, but Jason showed up. Sonny went off to go find them. Meanwhile, Jason admitted to Carly that he (due to his deteriorating condition) didn't know her. Of course, she couldn't comprehend what he was trying to say and yelled, "I hate you!" before running off yet again.

On the docks, Courtney told Nikolas she still loved Jax. He didn't buy it. Blah, blah, blah. Just kiss, already! "Let me go," Court moaned as she walked off. Oh, well. No kiss today. Courtney sat down with Elizabeth and Lucky to talk about the baby. Court assured them she'd be a great mom to the kid. Then Jax showed up and whisked Court away. At Metro Court, Jax surprised Courtney with a ton of chocolates. She accused him of wanting to send her into a "chocolate coma," but still nibbled on them anyway. They then mused about their lives as parents together (which we know will never be if Jax has his way.) Meanwhile, Nik met Lucky at Kelly's and complained more about Emily, but it fell on deaf ears. Afterward, Liz chastised Lucky, saying he can't tell people how to live their lives. Lucky apologized to her, but admitted he still doesn't trust Jax. Good nose, Lucky, since Jax called Justus and told him he's secretly dividing the marital assets. Nik overheard Justus's end of the conversation.

Jason snuck into the Quartermaine mansion, but suffered another blinding headache and had to sit down. Alan entered and gave his son his version of Jason's life. Monica entered, and Alan informed her, "Ten years later, our son has come home."

Sonny went to Alcazar's, but no one was there. Or so he thought.... Carly jumped out of the shadows and clubbed him with a poker. Diego returned to see Sonny unconscious and called for help, but Sonny woke up, hung up the phone and demanded to see Carly. Diego replied Lorenzo's away on business. Sonny vowed to track down Lorenzo. Meanwhile, Carly showed up at her old abandoned high school in Florida — and so did Reese.

Over a romantic breakfast, Jax restated his love for his Nikolas-kissing wife, Courtney. Once dressed, they discussed dinner plans as they headed off to work. Justus arrived, and after Court split, Jax spilled, "I'm waiting her out until my child is born ... and then I'm ending my marriage."

At Kelly's, Alexis and Ric shared breakfast and witty banter. Ric headed out, just as Lucky arrived and informed her that Carly had a meltdown was sentenced to Shadybrook.

On the docks, Nik recalled his passionate buss with Courtney, and he confessed to Lucky that he can't get Mrs. Jacks out of his head. Lucky advised his big bro to exercise some self-control. "I have self-control ... but its not going to change what I feel," Nik sighed.

Emily thanked Sonny for letting her stay at Casa de Corinthos. Sonny opened up to her about Carly's breakdown. He stated he can't institutionalize his ex, because she saved him from that hell in the past. They decided the boys will stay at the guest house with Em for a few days until Carly's back on track, then he swore her to secrecy. Up at the main house, Carly told Reese to get out. She then picked up a letter opener, but Sonny arrived to stop the altercation. Carly went into a paranoid state about Reese, but Sonny vowed to protect her until the day he died. Reese silently schlepped out of the room and unloaded to Ric on the docks. "Even in a psychotic episode, Carly still gets her way," she spat, concerned about the future of her relationship with Sonny. Meanwhile, Alexis caught a glance of Sonny and Carly hugging through the window. Unaware of the peeping Alexis, Sonny lovingly put Carly to bed, as she calmed down and regained some degree of composure. Then, they discussed their respective breakdowns. As Carly fell asleep, Sonny could barely contain his tears.

At PCU, the freshman class started moving into the dorms. Maxie and Jesse were paired up as roomies, but found out it was a clerical error, due to his feminine name (or perhaps her masculine name.). But, Jesse was told he'd get a room on the same floor (to secretly protect Max from Le Stalker, natch!). At Kelly's, Bobbie was miffed that Lucas didn't want her to attend orientation. "See that surly stranger? I used to change his diapers," she told Dillon and Georgie, as Lucas huffed off. (No wonder he didn't want her to come!) Dillon told Bobbie not to worry — he and Lucas are roommates. As orientation week began, Jesse learned his new roomie is Diego, who shocked his schoolmates by arriving on campus with a manservant and a ton of luggage. Brook Lynn was not happy to learn she got stuck with Maxie, but she did like Dillon's new pal, Seth. As Maxie and Jesse kissed, an envelope was slid under the door, containing a pic of passed-out Brook. Jesse ran out into the hall and confronted the guy walking by — Lucas.

Nik ran into Emily and Michael at Kelly's and, after brushing the kid off with the old, "Go get some ice cream" excuse, the soon-to-be-divorcing duo went at each others throats. Jason/Sonny this. Courtney/Jax that. You get the picture. The ice cream kid returned and the adults ended their squabble. Nik ran into Court at "their place," and asked if she really loved Jax.

Alexis, a.k.a. Gladys Kravitz, phoned Mac to report Carly's true whereabouts, but Ric grabbed her cell phone. He apologized to Alexis, but said he needs to do right by Sonny and Carly. Alexis begrudgingly complied with his wishes, and Ric appreciated it.

Carly had a nightmare about Reese marrying Sonny and her taking the boys away from her. Carly came downstairs and heard Sonny tell Reese that she, not the ex, is the one who he wants. Reese vowed to support him, and they kissed. Sonny went to check on Carly, but she was gone.

Jax fibbed and told Court he still cared about her, then stormed off. She checked the answering machine and listened to a phone message from Nikolas. Did Jax hear it, too? she wondered silently. Court listened to the message again, then erased it and left.

At Wyndemere, Nikolas and Emily has some wine and decided to discuss saving their marriage. Taking off her coat led to a kiss, after which Em noted, "You're different ... It's Courtney, isn't it?" Nik re-iterated that Emily's the one he wants to be with. "It's not about Courtney," he claimed. "I don't want to be with her. I want to be with you." Aw. They hugged, and of course, Courtney walked in. (Don'tcha hate when that happens?) Emily laughed, accused the two of them of lying and implied they were up to something illicit. Court told Em that she and Jax were going to make their marriage work, too, but Em walked out.

Jason was shocked to learn from Sam that his last job was as Sonny's hitman. "How do I justify killing people? Why would you even want to be with me," he blurted to Sam. "Um, have you seen yourself in the buff? Woof!" she smiled back. (Just kidding.... She said she'd get the boat ready and be right back.) Upon her return, Sam ran into Allegra, but panicked when Jason was gone. On the boat, Jason suffered another "attack" and fell overboard. Allegra agreed to help Sam find Jason. Henchman Dante informed the women a body had been found. They rushed to the boat, where Sam pulled the sheet up and exclaimed, "Oh, my God." Then, there was a commercial break. "It's not Jason," she sighed after the last of the paid advertisements. Nope, it was just some fisherman from across the island. Whew! Then, some day player with a bad accent announced that Jason just hopped a cargo plane bound for Portugal. Later, we saw Jason pay off the day player and make plans to head back to Port Charles.

Reese freaked out when she was talking to Sonny and heard gunshots fired, unaware that an unhinged Carly was the one pulling the trigger (but she didn't fire directly at him, of course.) After a hysterical crying jag, Carly calmed down long enough to assure Sonny that she'd be fine and everyone will be happy again. He asked her to lie down. "Are you mad at me?" she asked. "No," he lied. Then, Lucky and Jesse arrived, checking out a call that shots were fired. (That was quick!) Carly admitted to Lucky that she tried to kill Sonny; she's the one they're looking for. Sonny tried to protect Carly, but it didn't work. Jesse arrested her. Carly became hysterical, then catatonic.

Ric met Alexis at the hospital, where she berated him for being with Sonny when he should have been with her and the baby. Alexis objected to Ric's growing involvement with his mobster brother, but realized she was helpless to prevent it. Ric's phone rang. "That's our boy," she scoffed. "It's billable," he replied, just before running off to tend to Carly.

At the PCPD, Lucky realized Carly's not playing with a full deck. Sonny arrived and told Mac he wants to take Carly home. Then Ric arrived, and Mac ordered Jesse to have Carly booked. In the interrogation room, Ric couldn't get a coherent answer out of Carly. He asked Reese to sit with her and took Sonny aside. ‘She's in really bad shape," Ric noted. Duh! Reese accused Carly of faking it. "Go away Charlotte ... Go back to being dead," she spat back. Ric suggested sending Carly to a psych ward, but Sonny wouldn't hear of it. Then, Reese pretty much told him the same thing.

At the hospital, Emily filled in Monica about the latest Nik/Court goings-on. Jax was lurking nearby and heard the story and scowled. Back at Wyndemere, Nik poured himself a drink and admitted that he loves Em but has feelings for Courtney, too. When she said Jax wanted to give it another go, Nik asked if that was what she wanted, as well. She did, she sighed. The pair decided it was time to say good night, Gracie, and parted with a bittersweet exchange. meanwhile, Emily walked the streets alone, then ran into Lucky and collapsed, sobbing in his arms. Alone, Nik still heard Courtney's soothing voice echo in his head, while Court returned to Jax and pledged her love to him. "We'll make it work," Jax replied. Bets, anyone?

Back at Sonny's, a scattered Carly went upstairs to lie down. "I can't send Carly to Shadybrook," Sonny told Reese. "I'm going to take care of her." Sonny mentioned that Carly saw him through his breakdowns; he's going to do the Same for her. Reese was understandably concerned.
