Courtney's still nauseous. Uh-oh! Nikolas confessed that he got home late last night because he was with Emily. He stated that they just wanted to end things on a positive note and stay friends. Court appeared sympathetic, but decided not to voice her suspicions that she could be with child.
At the hospital, Lucky made plans for the evening with Elizabeth, who was already back to work after the miscarriage. When he left, Jax showed up and told Liz he wanted to stay friends. Together, they bemoaned that they were finding it difficult to get back to normal after the loss of their baby. Jax insisted on picking up Liz's medical bills, and on his way out, he bumped into Courtney, who was carrying a suspicious bag. Hmmm. After a civil, sympathetic exchange, the former marrieds parted ways.
At Casa Corinthos, Emily checked in on Carly, but in her frenetic state, she saw Em as Faith. Dr. Winters tried to persuade Ric to take action and have Carly committed, but he remained hesitant without Sonny's okay. (Sonny was away on "business.") As Emily descended the staircase, Carly appeared behind her with a baseball bat. Ric, Reese, Justus and Lainey were able to jump in and save Em, but the Michael and Morgan were ordered off the premises. Upstairs, Lainey sedated Carly, but the visions of Faith continued. Despite Justus's objections, Ric refused to have Carly moved, believing it was what Sonny would want. Now back in town, Alexis showed up at the gate to see Ric, and begged him to leave Sonny's violent world behind, but he refused. Alexis heard about the bombing at his apartment and realized he was doing some dirty dealings. All Ric would cop to was that he was in too deep. In the house, Carly refused another sedative, pushing Reese near the syringe. Shortly thereafter, Reese stumbled down the stairs and collapsed. Carly ran out, passing Ric and Alexis at the gate, and sprinted off. Back inside, Reese was recovering when Ric discovered that Lainey called Durant and alerted him to pick up Carly. Ric was furious, and had Max take Alexis home.
Jason regaled Sam about his aborted trip to Sonny's and reiterated he's cutting those ties. They kissed. Jason headed off to work, and ran into Courtney on the docks. J had a flashback of Court, recalling that in the past, he had made her cry. When he asked her to jog his memory, Court filled J in about their short-lived marriage and her miscarriage. Jason was saddened that he made Courtney cry yet again.
Just after Lucky called Liz and had to cancel their dinner plans due to work, Jax called and asked if they could get together. At Wyndemere, Lucky showed up unannounced, causing Courtney to drop her home pregnancy test. However, Lucky didn't catch sight of the goods, and stated that he was patrolling the docks and dropped by to share the good news that Liz could still conceive. He took off, and Court breathed a sigh of relief. Liz met Jax in the woods, where he was planting a tree in memory of their lost child. There, they said their goodbyes to the baby. Back at Wyndemere, Courtney looked shocked by the results of the pregnancy test.
In the park, Emily and Michael ran into Nikolas, where Mikey mouthed off to the Cassadine prince for hurting Em. She corrected his behavior and bribed him with cookies at Kelly's. After the exchange, Nik commented on how great she is with kids. She countered by saying that she may consider pediatrics in her med school studies. Nik told her she was amazing, and they agreed to be kind to each other. Then, he strolled away. Afterward, on the lam Carly cut through the park and found Emily, or in her eyes, Faith. Carly picked up a scythe from a wheelbarrow full of gardening tools and headed toward Emily.

Lucky listened as Jax told Elizabeth it was time for them to cut ties and move on. Liz questioned how realistic that was, but Jax said it was what he needed. He went to the hospital to ask Dr. Meadows if Liz would be able to have more children; she hinted that all was well on Elizabeth's gynecological front. Meanwhile, Nikolas and Courtney discussed the pivotal role the baby had played in all of their lives. Courtney began to feel queasy and took a seat.... Liz and Lucky enjoyed some cuddly time with Cameron.... Jax apologized to Courtney for having pushed so hard for a child, thus pushing her away.... Jax called Liz with the good news that she'll be able to have more kids. Liz and Lucky celebrated with a kiss.... Courtney returned home with a mysterious prescription. Could she be pregnant?
Dr. Winters reported to Sonny and Reese that Carly's bad moments are getting worse and recommended that she be institutionalized. As if on cue, Carly (suffering from visions of Faith) tumbled down the stairs. She told Sonny that Faith was after her and the kids. Ric volunteered to go look as Sonny tried to calm down Carly. She agreed to let Elaine take a look at her. Emily escorted her upstairs, but Carly remained delusional and accused Emily of being in cahoots with Faith. Lainey walked in and ordered Carly to let go of Emily. Emily placed a call to Nik and asked to see him... Carly told Lainey that she wants to die and that Sonny only loves her out of a sense of duty. Justus watched Lainey consoling Carly.... Reese told Ric that even she sometimes finds herself rooting for a Sonny/Carly reunion; he assured her that she does have a rightful place in Sonny's life.... Emily and Nik met up and she took responsibility for the failure of their marriage and he agreed to her request that they walk away from each other with as much love as they entered their relationship with.
When the shoot-out went down on the docks, Jason fired at the assassin gunning for Ruiz, saving Ruiz's life. "Corinthos won't be pleased," Ruiz noted. Jason aimed his gun at him but his true aim was to reason with Ruiz. "Your wars have nothing to do with me," he declared. "I got it," claimed Ruiz, who told Jason that he was in his debt. Sam collected Jason and they returned home; Sonny was waiting for him there to read him the riot act for botching the Ruiz job. Corinthos said he'd have Jason taken out if it came to that. Sam came to his defense, explaining that Jason thought an innocent bystander stood to get shot. She stormed out, leaving Sonny to explain to Jason how critical Jason was to him. Jason said he was sorry, but he was unable to help. In the hallway where Sam was cooling her jets, Sonny apologized for raising his voice to her, adding that she should be careful — Jason might not be able to protect himself. Jason told Sam that he'd felt a connection with Sonny during their chat. Sam thought that was good; he wasn't so sure and worried about what he'd do if "that part" of him returned.... Jason sneaked out while Sam slept.
When Sonny returned home, he found Ric and Reese in a tender moment. Ric excused himself and Sonny filled in Reese about his meeting with Jason. Sonny was upset with himself for having threatened Jason.... Justus told Lainey he knows she feels real compassion for Carly. Lainey again urged Sonny to confine Carly to a more appropriate facility. Sonny and Reese went to check out the place Elaine recommended.... Ric left Carly unattended in her bed. She immediately got up and made a run for it, again believing that Faith was there to harm her kids.... Justus saw Jason waiting outside the compound and asked him if he wanted to come in. Jason fled instead.

Elizabeth and Jax caught Lucky packing up the baby items they'd purchased. Cameron woke up and Jax slipped out during their moment of domestic bliss. Lucky smothered Liz with TLC, and offered to take Cam out to give her some quiet time. Once alone, Liz called Jax. The bossy Aussie came over and Liz offered to repay Jax his money, offering him a $20 check as the first payment. Of course, Jax said he wouldn't accept the sweet, sincere, meager offer. Liz broke into tears and they embraced. Lucky came home, and left the room so they could have their moment. Jax said good-bye, and Liz sensed that he meant "good-bye."
At the PCPD, Ric and Reese confronted Durant about the results of the apartment explosion. Durant said it was a gas leak, but they knew it was Javier. Durant dismissed their claims, saying it was an accident and that's how it's going down in the books. Durant then tried to extort info out of them about Manny's shooting, but they stayed mum. "So much for law enforcement," cracked Reese.
Carly told Sonny that Faith was still lurking around the house, ready to kidnap they boys. Emily brought Michael by to visit his mother, and Emily told Sonny that Liz was doing as well as can be expected, and that Carly's secret was still safe. As they spoke, Carly scared Michael by swearing that Faith is still alive. Sonny tried to dissuade Michael from Carly's rantings, and Em whisked him out of the room. Afterward, Carly got kooky again, but accurately pointed out that Charlotte was supposed to have died, too.
At PCU, Mac showed up with a warrant to search Dillon's room, where he caught the Quartermaine heir messing around with Georgie. As the kids got dressed, Mac spotted Maxie in the hall with Jesse and threw Beaudry up against the wall (for show — remember, he's undercover). Then, Mac asked for an update on the stalker case on the sly. Jesse said he didn't think it was Dillon, but while the gang gathered in the hall, an intruder snuck into Dillon's room and monkeyed with his electronic camera. The police search revealed the memory card in the camera had pix of the latest stalker victim. Dillon denied guilt, but Mac had him taken away. Georgie broke into tears defending her beau. A sympathetic Jesse realized that the dorm room window had been forced open, then Seth arrived saying he saw someone leaving through it. At the PCPD, the Scooby gang told their story to Mac. "A guy in a hooded sweat shirt? That's the best you got?" scoffed the commish. Jesse asked for a moment, and alone, the rogue cop suggested letting Dillon go. Even though he was unsure of Dillon's innocence, Mac complied and Jesse told the gang that they're going to tail Dillon to catch the guy who's trying to frame him — but, they all have to act like they think spiky-haired boy is guilty.
In the Metro Court lobby, Alcazar ran into Javier and informed the mobster that Ric was still alive and that Jason's out of Sonny's employ. Javier replied that Jason is too dangerous to live. Just then, Skye walked by and caught Lorenzo's eye. After Manny exited, Skye approached and Lorenzo put on his best flirty act. Then, Skye mentioned that hurting Sonny would hurt Carly, the mention of whom killed Alcazar's buzz. He lamented that he feels bad about Carly's breakdown, and that even though they're still married, she has taken solace with Sonny. Skye pointed out that Lorenzo still cares for Carly, then left. Of course, they met again, and Lorenzo asked Skye to dinner. More flirting ensued, but no answer was given.
Jason and Sam enjoyed their time alone, away from Sonny's violent world. Jason prepared to leave for his new job on the docks, but then Ric showed up to warn him about Javier, suggesting he and Sam leave town. J decided to stay, but Sam had him take a gun to work, just in case. On the docks, Jason inadvertently saved Javier from a mob hit. Ruiz was stunned by his savior's identity, just as J was surprised to discover that the hit he foiled was ordered by Sonny. Whoops!
At Casa Corinthos, Reese arrived, and Carly accused her of helping Faith. Luckily, Dr. Winters showed up for a session. Good luck, doc! Speaking with Lainey in her room, Carly vowed she'd kill to save her boys from Faith. Afterward, the good doctor recommended to Sonny that Carly needs to be institutionalized and that she's a real danger to herself and others. Just then, Carly saw Faith again and fell down the stairs.

Elizabeth was heartbroken to learn she lost the baby. Liz blamed herself for going home after the car crash, but Jax and Lucky reassured her that the tragedy wasn't her fault. In the waiting area, Emily stormed up to Sonny and said that in light of Carly causing Liz's accident, he's got to have that lunatic ex-wife of his locked up. When he asked for more time to decide a course of action, Em told Sonny that she'd keep the secret, but if Carly hurt anyone else, all bets would be off. Liz was taken to have a D&C, while Emily joined Lucky and Jax to mourn. She reminded them that they must stress to Liz that none of this was her fault. Liz returned from the procedure, and Dr. Meadows told her there was no precise, definitive reason that they could determine as to why she lost the baby, so she shouldn't blame herself.
A post-coital Nikolas planned to return to P.C. in light of the news, but Courtney didn't want to go back. She cited her own experience with miscarrying, and thought it best she keep her distance. But, she agreed that Nik had to go.
Javier and his goons showed up at Ric's place, where he ordered them to get the job done right. Meanwhile, Reese showed up at Ric's room, where he was finally checking out of the hospital. Ric bemoaned that he and Alexis were estranged, and she filled him in on Carly's connection to Liz's accident. The confession, of course, reminded Ric of when he and Liz lost their own baby. The duo both agreed that Carly needs to go away, but neither had the cojones to tell Sonny.
At Casa Corinthos, Carly freaked when she saw Faith on the terrace, but Max arrived on the scene and told her no one was there. He then called Sonny and informed him of the episode. Sonny came home as soon as possible, where Carly was beside herself with fear. Citing concern for the kids, Carly blurted, "Faith is back to finish what she started." Sonny got huffy trying to convince Carly that Faith was dead, and made her drink tea. Then, eerily enough, Max alerted Sonny that there were fresh footprints outside the terrace window. (Get a new security system, guys!)
Ric visited Liz and offered his profound sympathy, and the two shared a poignant moment. Out in the hall, Jax blamed himself for the mess and walked away. Emily chased after him and reminded him it wasn't his fault either, but an angry Jax vowed to make whomever jumped out in front of his car to pay for his or her actions. While Lucky went in to sit with Liz, they discussed whether or not to have a memorial service. Just then, Nikolas entered, causing the grieving couple, and even Emily, to smile. Liz thanked her friends for surrounding her with love when she needed them the most.
Courtney changed her mind and showed up at the hospital, where she ran into Jax. He told her about the mundane events that led up to the accident, and expressed his sympathy for her own miscarriage. As their tears welled, the battling couple embraced, just as Nikolas walked out of the elevator and saw them.
Sonny came face to face with Javier, who mentioned that he's in town to avenge his brother, and that Sonny should be prepared. Across town, Reese escorted Ric home, and seeing a wire as Ric entered his apartment, she pulled him out of the doorway just as the place exploded. And back at Casa Corinthos, Carly awoke to see Faith at the window.

At home, Elizabeth doubled over in pain. The paramedics arrived, and Liz feared the worst about the safety of the baby. At the hospital, Liz was given meds to slow the cramping, and tests were run. Lucky called Jax and Emily. Liz cried to Lucky, who tried to reassure her that everything was going to be okay. At the hospital, Jax and Emily got an update from Lucky. While Jax visited with Liz, she became unconscious. Lucky, Em and Jax tried to think good thoughts, but Dr. Meadows returned with the bad news — Liz lost the baby. Lucky spoke with Jax, and the men agreed they'd tell Liz together. Liz woke up, and was heartbroken by the news.
Carly eavesdropped as Sonny told Emily that if she caused one more calamity, he will have to have her committed. Sonny ran to check on Carly and found her about to jump out the window. "I'm trying to help you," he assured. "You're in a bad place right now." She then recalled causing a car accident by jumping out into the road. Downstairs, Reese and Emily compared notes on Crazy Carly. Reese remarked to Em that Sonny's in grave danger from the Ruiz family, and he's too wrapped up with Carly to be concerned about it. Sinice Jason wasn't around, Reese vowed to protect him. Upstairs, Carly said she didn't mean to cause any harm; she was just trying to get away from Durant. Sonny came back down, saying Carly was resting, and swore them to secrecy regarding Carly and the car accident. Em headed off to the hospital, and Reese told Sonny to get a clue about what he needs to do. "I'm with you no matter what," she stressed. Sonny went back upstairs and covered sleeping Carly with a blanket. After, he headed to the hospital to check on Liz.
Sonny arrived at the hospital, where Em gave him the bad news. The incident reminded him of when Carly miscarried their baby when she fell down the stairs after arguing with AJ. Reese arrived at the hospital, and tried to convince Sonny not to blame himself for the accident. At Sonny's, Carly awoke in a panic and found the house empty. Well, almost.... there was a figure lurking outside.
Jesse freaked when he saw Javier Ruiz chatting with Maxie at Kelly's. Durant pulled Jesse away, saying Sonny's due for a bullet and no one's going to stop that from happening. After Javier flirted with Max, Jesse entered and caught Jav with a fake ID. He's headed downtown, Jesse snarled. At the PCPD, Ruiz noted that Jesse picked the wrong way to impress his girl. Maxie showed up in a snit, while Durant questioned Javier, stating he knew why the mobster was really in town. "Why is it all the freaks and pervs target me?" Maxie wondered when she learned the truth about Javier. She assured Jesse she'd be more careful in the future, kissed him and left. Jesse chastised Durant on his ulterior motives, while he countered by threatening J's job. Jesse went to Mac, who barked that he'd have Ruiz tailed, but Beaudry's job is to nail the campus stalker. Back at Kelly's, Jesse updated Maxie on Ruiz's release.
Nikolas comforted a nauseous Courtney. She remarked that at least she knows she's not pregnant. He replied that she would have made a great mother, and then Nik confided that he has no interest in having kids. He always felt that with his crazy clan, he had a responsibility not to procreate. Court replied that his reasoning was pretty lame, citing Sonny as a guy with a screwed up background who's a good parent. "You'd be a great dad," she nodded. Feeling better, she and Nik kissed and flopped onto the bed. After making love, Nik got a call from Emily, and he relayed the bad news about the baby to Court.
