GH Recaps Week of Dec. 5, 2005
Friday, December 9, 2005
"We're officially divorced," Emily sneered to Nikolas. "Not quite," he replied. "I haven't signed my copy yet." As he began to scribble, Courtney paid close attention to the tension between the two. Nik signed and said he'd file the papers with Alexis. Emily thanked him for taking care of it, and then cried after he and Court left. Outside in the snowstorm, Court told Nikolas that he and Emily still needed to talk out some issues, and walked ahead of Nik. Once past him, Court was clobbered by a snow-laden branch and injured her leg. Nik and Em rushed to Court's aid. They brought her inside, but the phones were out and Em's cell phone was dead. Nik told Em she needed to stitch up the wound, but Emily froze. Nik vowed he'd do it himself. Without stitching, Nik did get the bleeding under control, and Emily apologized for her performance anxiety. Nik gave her a pep talk. As they hugged, Court woke up and saw them.
At the Q's, Edward fretted about Jason with Big Alice until Tracy burst in claiming she was robbed via identity theft. Though she got no sympathy from her father or maid, she knew the who the culprit was. Then there was a crash. The Q's ran outside. It was Lulu crashing a snow mobile. Back inside, Tracy demanded her missing $15,000. Lulu played dumb, but Tracy demanded they fill in Luke and dragged Lulu out into the storm.
Jax was shocked by the contents of the envelope, and we're weren't privy to the contents. Damn! Luke demanded the hotel, and assured Jax he'd stay mum. Jax said he didn't like being blackmailed, but agreed and signed over half the hotel to Carly. Skye arrived and demanded to know why Jax would sell. "What does Luke have over you?" she queried. Jax barked at her and refused to spill. Lulu and Tracy arrived at the hotel, via snowmobile, where Luke chastised his daughter. As the adults bickered, Skye suggested that Lulu take a job at the hotel and work off the debt she incurred. Luke agreed. Then, the power went out. Outside GH, Jax asked Dr. Meadows if she talked to Luke. Hmmm.
Port Charles fretted as Jason's surgery began. If only they knew Manny was lurking on the premises.
As Monica and Sam comforted each other, Patrick announced, "Okay people. Let's party." As the procedure began, Patrick refused to listen to Noah's suggestion about an incision. However, Robin put her foot down saying she was still Jason's specialist and Dr. Drake Sr.'s way was more effective. Patrick reluctantly followed her order and proceeded. As they operated, Noah and Patrick bickered about their tattered relationship, until the lights began to flicker. Was it the storm? Alan told Dr. Meadows that the back-up power system was in place, but they can't afford to lose power while Jason's in surgery. Manny overheard the conversation. The power went off, but the back-up generator did kick in. In the hall, Manny eyed an axe on the wall. He entered the "Generator Room" and started hacking away at the equipment. In the O.R., the intrepid trio of doctors continued valiantly to save Jason's life.
Sonny and Carly shared fond reminiscing outside the hospital in the snow. Carly told Sonny she's not going to cling to him anymore. He agreed that he's not good for her. Bobbie wandered on the scene. She and Carly hugged, but then Sonny said it was time to get Carly back to Rose Lawn. However, when the power flickered, they ran back into the hospital to check on Jason.
Liz was disturbed to hear that Lucky was itching to get back to work.
In the darkness, the gang went batty with worry about Jason, as Manny entered the O.R.

At Metro Court, Nikolas met up with Alexis to discuss the divorce papers he'd received. Alexis guessed he didn't want to sign them, but he denied that charge. After a rambling speech from Alexis, Nik told his aunt that he and Court were in love. She advised him to really consider what he wants before making any serious decisions. Nik left and Jax arrived. She told him about her advice to Nik. He was grateful. She also warned Jax that Luke is snooping around trying to help Carly.
At the hospital, Luke approached Courtney and said Carly needed her help. He then lowered the boom about getting her to convince Jax to sell Metro Court. She declined and walked off. Luke then approached Dr. Meadows. Hmmm. Later, Luke went to the hotel and met with Jax. The bossy Aussie said, "No sale." Luke tossed him an envelope and said, "Information can be very useful."
Sonny smiled at a sleeping Emily. In the next scene, they shared a brandy. Nikolas entered while she and Sonny kissed. "I'm busy right now," she told Nik. "I've moved on." They kissed again, and then Emily awoke. Sonny was standing there. He sat and they talked about their mutual lack of sleep. She misinterpreted his sentiments, thinking he was referring to her, but he was actually referring to Jason. She covered. Sonny then headed off to the hospital to see his enforcer.
Sam refused to give Carly time in the elevator with Patrick. When Sam accused the doctor of not having what it takes to save Jason, he replied, "The hell I don't." Robin tried to convince Jason to fight for his life. She pointed out that even though she, Carly and Sam all hated each other, they were willing to put all that aside and work together for Jason's sake. In the hall, the trio cajoled Patrick into performing the risky operation. As Patrick prepped, Noah gave his son some surgical advice, but Patrick refused to listen. Robin chided Patrick for his lack of compassion. Sam told Jason the surgery was back on. Carly entered, complaining about Patrick, and Jason collapsed. "Get a doctor!" Sam screamed. Sensing the urgency, Patrick ordered an O.R. to be prepped. Then Patrick told Robin that she was not allowed to observe, which didn't sit well with Dr. Scorpio. In a moment alone, Carly told Jason she needed him and he can't die or she would really go insane. He made her promise to be a good mom, be nice to Sam, and go to Jake's, have a beer, and play a game of pool.
At Sonny's, Emily couldn't bring herself to sign her divorce papers, just as Courtney walked in with presents for the boys. The women engaged in some banter, until Court mentioned that Carly was concerned by the amount of time Em has been spending with Michael and Morgan. Court asked Emily to back off a little and she would step in. "When is it enough for you?" Emily shot back. Em put Court in her place, followed by, "Leave me alone. Court barkedthat she's tired of feeling guilty all the time. Em picked up the divorce papers and started to sign them, just as Nik entered the room.
Lainey was not thrilled with Carly's request to head to Jake's to honor Jason's wishes. Carly explained her point of view, Justus interceded on Carly's behalf, and Carly walked off. Lainey told Justus if anything goes wrong, it's on his head. At Jake's, Carly toasted Jason and honored his request. She recalled a couple memories of when they first met and started hanging out. When Coleman hit on her, she walked out and headed back to the hospital.
In the hall, Robin and Patrick argued, and Robin won the round — she'd observe. Sonny showed up in Jason's room. Jason asked Sonny to take care of Sam if he didn't make it— and work things out with Carly. After Sonny left, Jason told Sam that he was sorry they haven't gotten married. Then, the orderlies arrived. It was time. Sam said her final, "I love you," and Jason was wheeled into the O.R. As he went under, Robin's face was the last thing Jason saw. As Sam waited nervously in the hall, Manny walked by, disguised as a doctor! And outside in the snow, Sonny and Carly shared a hug.

Since Noah's not performing the surgery, Jason planned to leave the hospital. Meanwhile, Robin tracked down Patrick, who was performing in the O.R., but he wasn’t in surgery, okay? He was bedding a voluptuous blonde. Robin ordered him to "finish" because she needed a miracle and he’s it. As he got dressed, Patrick stated he was familiar with Robin’s research. She gave him Jason’s file. Patrick looked it over and declared Jason a lost cause. At G.H., Monica demanded to know why Noah couldn’t perform the surgery. He was sympathetic, but said if he operated on Jason, he’d kill him.
Jax, Kristina and Molly joined Jax for tea at the Metro Court. Jax mentioned Carly’s interest in the hotel and reiterated his goal of reuniting with Courtney.
At Rose Lawn, Carly spoke to Michael, who ended up being the one to inform her about Jason’s impending surgery. Lainey arrived in time to keep her from leaving the premises. Carly chewed Lainey out for keeping her in the dark about Jason. Justus kept the women apart, but Carly vowed she’d see her best friend. Justus convinced Lainey to let them accompany Carly to the hospital, where she interrupted a warm moment between Jason and Sam. Carly blasted them for keeping her out of the loop. Robin arrived with Patrick to examine Jason. Carly told Sam she didn't trust Robin. Patrick looked Jason over and declared he arrived just in time. In the hall, Noah interjected as Robin and Patrick discussed the case. Feeling the tension between the two men, Robin was shocked to learn that Patrick was Noah’s son. After Carly had a heartfelt exchange with Jason and begged him to be strong, she walked right into the Drake men arguing. Patrick refused to work with his drunken dad and left, but Carly jumped in the elevator and told him he wasn’t going anywhere. As Robin broke the bad news to Sam and Jason, Carly demanded Patrick come through, and when he pressed her for a kiss, she didn’t decline.
Lucky came home from the hospital, where he and Liz found that Nikolas and Courtney had decorated their apartment for Christmas. They even filled the fridge with food. As the foursome caught up, Court felt awkward when stories of old times (Read Emily) came up. Nik whisked Court out to spare her feelings. After they left, Liz realized her gaffe and felt bad. Once alone, the newlyweds kissed and started to make love — until there was a knock at the door. It was Lulu, who proclaimed that the couple’s money problems were over. She showed them Tracy’s PDA and suggested they steal her money. "Consider it an advance on my allowance," she told a stunned Lucky. Tracy arrived in a rage and demanded her PDA back. Lulu reluctantly complied. She apologized, citing her concern for Lucky’s bills and exited. In the hall, Lulu jotted down one of Tracy’s bank account numbers, which she memorized from the PDA.
At the Q manse, Luke pumped Skye for info about Jax. He filled Skye in about Carly’s plan to acquire the Metro Court, claiming he needed the cash to leave Tracy so they could be together. She remained skeptical. Luke said he loved her, but Skye refused to budge. She pointed out that the only thing Jax wants is his baby with Courtney. Luke hightailed it over to the hotel, where he eavesdropped on Jax and Alexis’s conversation about parenting and Courtney. Jax was called away on business, and Luke swooped in on Alexis and buried her with compliments. She refused to help Luke and Carly take over Jax’s hotel and left. Moments later, Nik and Courtney showed up for lunch and bumped into Jax, just as he got a call from Dr. Meadows. Court assumed it was for her and took the phone. Dr. M. covered her uneasiness by saying she was just confirming their next appointment. After, Jax suspiciously walked out and Luke followed him to G.H., where Jax and Dr. M. were whispering. Hmmm.
At Kelly’s, Lucas told Georgie that Bobbie was pressuring him to bring a date to her upcoming Gingerbread Party. Georgie advised Lucas to come out to his folks, but he said he couldn’t. He begged his cousin to help him find a date. She mentioned her friend Susan, and said she’d take care of it, but not before dispensing some sage advice. Alexis arrived and met Ric for lunch, where she feared he was going back to work for Sonny. He assured his wife that he was not. They kissed. Aww.

Sonny defended Jason's decision to Emily to not opt for surgery, even though he personally disagreed with it. Just then, Jason and Sam entered, and Jason decided to go though with the risky procedure. Emily hugged Jason, grateful for his decision, and left. Before Jason and Sam headed to the hospital, Sonny said they had one more piece of business first. He then gave Jason a cherished keepsake for luck. Michael ran in and gave Jason a big hug. Jason explained that he needed an operation, and Michael gave the enforcer another big hug.
At GH, Noah's hands were shaking, and Robin caught him preparing to empty a flask into his coffee cup. Noah fretted about returning to the operating room, but jumped into action when a crash patient needed immediate surgery. In the O.R., Robin watched as Noah got back on the horse, so to speak, and even had classical music piped in during the operation. Afterward, Robin told Noah she was very impressed with his performance, but Noah was still worried. Jason and Sam arrived and Robin introduced them. Jason wasn't thrilled about being back at the hospital, but vowed to see it through. In the hall, Sam caught Noah with the flask and barked there's no way she'd let a lush operate on her man. Noah admitted he had his doubts, but Robin piped in that if he doesn't operate, Jason will die. Monica showed up in Jason's room, despite his wishes that he didn't want to see family. She assured her son that Noah is a fantastic surgeon and he was in good hands. They had a great teary exchange while Alan confessed his shortcomings as a father to God in the chapel. (Pass the Kleenex for these exchanges!)
Lainey showed up for Carly's session, just as a messenger arrived with a bunch of packages. Carly said that this scheme was better than a therapy session. It was "self empowerment." The Q's gathered at Rose Lawn, and Monica and Alan quarreled about Emily and Sonny. Just then, Carly showed up with Alcazar and said. "Let's get down to business." Carly demanded there'd be no more fighting at ELQ meetings, and told the crowd they all work for her now. Emily showed up, and Carly delivered a "Mother Courage routine," as Tracy put it, about taking a stand for herself and her sons. As Lainey complained to Sonny, Carly told the ELQ board that she'd take a subsidiary in exchange for her stock. Luke just happened to have a list of the subsidiaries. Carly replied that she'd review the list and let the board know her decision. After the meeting ended, Emily told Alan and Monica that Jason was going through with the surgery, while Carly took the list from Luke, told him he was not going to be in on the deal and kicked her uncle out. Alcazar emerged and gave Carly a round of applause. Despite their divorce plans, Alcazar found Carly's spunk very attractive.
Meanwhile, Sonny tried to explain Carly's past to Lainey. He told the shrink that he saw her improving, though Lainey remained skeptical. "Carly has to rebuild her life independent of you," Lainey nudged. Citing her new plans, Sonny replied, "When Carly's at her best, I feel sorry for anybody who gets in her way."
As Ric and Alexis argued over whether they'd return to the woods to chop down their own Christmas tree after last year's fiasco when they got trapped and nearly froze to death, Nikolas and Courtney showed up with a new stroller for Molly. As the foursome basked in domestic bliss, Jax arrived, also with a baby gift in tow. Nik and Courtney made a gracious exit, and Ric took Molly into the other room. Jax told Alexis that he still believed he and Court would reunite. Alexis tried to be honest with her friend and told Jax that she didn't see that happening. Jax got a phone call from Rose Lawn, saying Carly wanted to see him. Jax headed out.
At Casa Corinthos, Michael read Emily his school paper that he wrote about her. As Michael thanked Emily for being there for him and his family, Sonny chimed in that he agreed with everything Michael said. As the grown-ups chatted, Emily pondered coming clean to the don about her true feelings toward him.
At Rose Lawn. Carly told Jax that since she now owned the land beneath the Metro Court, she wanted to buy the hotel from him. Jax asked why he should sell anything to the woman who was responsible for Elizabeth's miscarriage, which shut Carly up quite nicely. Carly replied she vaguely remembered the accident. Jax accused Sonny of covering it up. She apologized. Jax said he didn't blame her, but his hotel was not for sale. After Jax left, Carly almost broke down, until Luke appeared. He advised his niece not to give up. With some fighting words from her uncle, Carly said that if he can help her get the Metro Court, she'll cut him in on the deal.
Alexis told Ric that the real reason she wanted to go to the woods was because that's where they made love for the first time, and she thought that should be their new holiday tradition.... Jason summoned Alan to his room, where he told his father that even though he doesn't remember being Jason Quartermaine, Alan will always be his father. Alan kissed Jason on the forehead.... As Sam stuck to her guns regarding Dr. Drunk, er, Drake, performing the operation, Noah replied that he knew of one other doctor who could.... a doctor who happened to be bedding some woman with sexy feet and a toe ring.

Lulu tried sneaking out of the Q manse and was caught by Tracy, who damanded a "return" on her investment. Lu needed to 'fess up about Luke's plans ASAP. At Rose Lawn, Lu's cousin was double-crossing Luke, too. "I need a new start and I need something to build on," Carly said of Lorenzo's coveted ELQ stock. "Bring it on, Uncle Luke." At Pretend This Isn't Jake's, Robin snapped Noah out of his stupor while in Fake Hawaii, Jason didn't believe Sonny could actually pull his plug. (maybe because Jason does all Sonny's killing?) After some icy threats, Lulu blabbed about Luke's stock-ing stuffing to her wicked stepma. Meanwhile, in the Avenue Q foyer, Luke asked Skye to convince Lorenzo to give Carly something else for alimony. Skye was happy to go dangle herself in front of the Latin Lothario. Justus lurked around Rose Lawn hoping to see Lainey and ran into Emily, who was there for Round 2, 423 of Carly vs. Em. Back at Not Jake's, Robin name-dropped folks like her parents, Alan, and Monica and spouted medical terminology to press Noah into listening to her. "I don't save lives anymore!" he moped. "And I don't give up!" she announced, slapping her file at him. (A drunk surgeon can't make Jason any worse, right?)
Back in Maui, Sam cried (I know, you're surprised) as she reminded Jason, "You beat the odds every day!" She walked out when he refused to fight for himself. Jason wearily faced Sonny, preparing to say good-bye to his best friend. Meanwhile, Noah marveled over Jason's X-rays but told Robin he couldn't go back to Port Charles. Sonny and Jason continued their Adios as Jason asked Sonny to reconcile Sam to his death. "I'm not saying good-bye," Sonny told him. "A part of me will go with you." On the docks in PC, Skye brought Lorenzo coffee and cleavage. "You're acting like a fool," he observed, guessing that Luke was using her to fish for stock. Noah reminisced about how great he'd once been, even citing Steve Hardy's praise of him. But he couldn't help Robin. "You can't? Or you won't?" At Rose Lawn, Carly apologized to Emily for her myriad Carly-ish behaviors but Em didn't buy it. At the MobTV Beach House, Sonny and Jason said their not-good-byes and shook hands. Jason left the room and contemplated his gun as Sam gave her tear ducts a Jane Fonda workout. "Listen to the mouse roar," Carly mocked skeptical Emily before asking her to tell her sons "hello." Elsewhere, Sam cried some more and promised to call Sonny when Jason bit the bullet. He kissed his ex in a creepily parental fashion for someone he used to sleep with and left.
Sam tried to hide Jason's gun, but he assured her he wasn't going to off himself. Noah revealed his alcoholic angst stemmed from him losing a patient he loved. Well, Robin was about to do the same! "Please don't be the reason I have to fail him a third and final time," But Noah didn't want his old pals at GH to see him this way. Back in PC, Tracy lorded the failed stock deal over Luke, and Lulu revealed to her dad that she'd stooled on him. At Rose Lawn, Lorenzo brought over the divorce and alimony papers, but had second thoughts. In Blue Hawaii, Sam's broken star necklace was a metaphor for their soon-to-be-broken relationship. But "yours is the last face I want to see," Jason told her. A bummed Skye returned home and blew off Luke. Elsewhere, Justus and Lainey were at the opera and she admitted she liked basketball. Lorenzo wanted "just a chance" to start over with Carly and pulled her into a hot kiss. She cheekily told him, "I didn't feel a thing." Robin brought Extremely Made Over Noah to GH and he reunited with Alan, Monica, and a smokin' hot Bobbie. Robin told the gang that Dr. Drunk...er, Drake...was performing Jason's surgery. Elsewhere, Jason fingered the broken star chain and went out to tell Sam he'd have it fixed. No, not the necklace. His head. "I'm having the surgery. For you."
