GH Recaps Week of Dec. 26, 2005

Friday, December 30, 2005
"Get ready to put your tux on," Courtney told her snookums, Nikolas, while he was still on a plane. Over at Avenue Q, the Quartermaines had "enough canapes" but no guests for their NYE bash. As Sam and Jason hoped it would be "just you and me" and some beer, Carly interrupted, reminding the duo that it was her first post-funny farm fete. Back at Chez Q, they blamed Luke for their sudden drop in status and Noah arrived. Kelly's was Teen Party Central as Georgie chided Lucas for not bringing a date and Lulu showed Dillon a letter Georgie had written to Diego. At the loft, Jax wished a surly Courtney a "thrilling evening" after telling her that Nik's plane was re-routed. Jax went off to Carly's "comeback." Dillon and Georgie fought over her compassion for Diego and Lucas defended his galpal. Elsewhere, Luke badgered a bewildered Noah into accompanying him and Skye to the happenin' party in town: Carly's. Sam, too, decided she and Jason would attend since "her party's going to have the best fireworks in town."

Meanwhile, smokin' hot Carly grinned at Alcazar as she walked into the bash. Jesse told Maxie that his brother had died on New Year's. Dillon admitted he was jealous of Georgie's friendships with other boys, while Lucky and Liz's car stalled thanks to a dead battery. As Lucky angsted in the park, Liz smacked him with a snowball. "Oh, this is war!" Lucky growled. Carly and Lorenzo made nice over her new venture and Carly assured him that Jax would soon be happy to have her (no, not THAT way! Although...). Luke, Skye, and Noah showed up and Luke cheered Spencer pride. When Alexis and Ric mistakenly arrived for dinner, mandatory Carly-Alexis snarking ensued. Nik arrived at the empty loft and found the party invites Jax had left. Speaking of Jax, he and Courtney were civil and then Luke lorded the Big Blackmail over Jax's head: that the FIRST paternity test had been fixed. (But Jax didn't even know she was pregnant!) Sam jumped into the Carly-Alexis kerfuffle over Manny but it ended quickly (darn!). Jason groused about the party and was confused on whether or not Carly wanted Sonny to come (and so was the recapper).

Lucky and Liz's adorable snowball fight ended in a hot makeout session. Dillon and Georgie kept dissecting his jealousy issues and then Lucas came out and...Came Out. At the Qs, the über-pathetic clan decided to shuffle off to bed, marking midnight in Rio, but Emily stayed up. Naturally, Nikolas showed up. "You're gay?!!?" Dillon sputtered. "But you're so normal!" Amused, Lucas pointed out that they both loved show tunes and then Dillon chided him for not trusting his pals enough to be straight...er, gay with them. Back at the hotel, Carly's friends toasted her comeback and Noah admitted to Bobbie, "I decided to brave the night without a drink." Lorenzo was bummed that the Carly and Alexis rasslin' hadn't gone further but was admiring of Carly standing on her own two feet. Carly thanked Jason and Sam for coming and then let them flee. "Guess what's waiting for you at home?" Sam teased. "What?" "Fireworks." Courtney thanked Jax for nagging her into coming out and Nikolas decided to ring in the New Year at the Qs instead of looking like a jealous boyfriend. As "Auld Lang Syne" accompanied the midnight countdown drifting from Lucky's car radio (the battery came back to life!), Port Charles celebrated 2006. Couple kisses: Luke and Skye, Lucky and Liz, Maxie and Jesse, Dillon and Georgie (with both Lulu and Lucas watching...), Ric and Alexis, and Jason and Sam. Nik chastely kissed Emily on the cheek and, as glitter rained down, Carly and Lorenzo traded smiles across the room.

At the PCPD, Jax arrived to report his car stolen and Mac told him they'd impounded it to analyze the dent! Courtney checked on Dr. Meadows at GH, learning that the OB/GYN was slipping into a coma, and JumpStreet Jesse hauled Courtney back to the PD to ID a suspect. "Do you really think that I ran down Dr. Meadows?" an appalled Jax asked Mac. Then, JumpStreet and Big Mac questioned Courtney as Jax peered out from the Corinthos-Morgan Luxury Interrogation Suite. As the questions got pointed, the exes jumped to each other's defense. When the report on the dent came back, it revealed that there was no human DNA — just things consistent with the hotel parking garage pilons. Mac encouraged Jesse to check out other suspects but KinderKop just couldn't let go of the suspicion in Courtney Clueless' eyes. Back at the Metro Court, Jax dressed down the door dude who had smacked into the pilon while parking and then was buoyed by Courtney's defense of him: it meant they'd make great parents.

At the Post-Op Penthouse, Sam sent Jason to Michael's party after worrying about kids throwing things at his brain injury (no, seriously!). "I'm going to get stronger," Sam assured him. "It's just going to take some time." Alexis, Durant, and Justus arrived to depose her for Manny's trial. Sam was horrified as Alexis painted her as someone who would say whatever Jason wanted because she and Danny were financially dependant on him. "Manny Ruiz is a sadistic freak!" Sam reminded. "And you're a bitch for defending him!" "Sam, I was appointed! I don't have a choice!" Alexis countered. Sam ranted about Alexis collecting blood money from rich guilty freaks and Alexis marveled at the irony (ya know, since Jason kills people for a living). Later on, at GH, Sam ran into a meek, apologetic Manny and blasted him. Alexis interrupted, telling Sam she was donating her fee to a women's shelter and urging her to believe in the legal system. Sam didn't buy it and warned Alexis about Not-So-Meek Manny.

At the Metro Court, Carly wished Michael a happy birthday and he revealed her window exploits to Sonny. Elsewhere, Noah walked away from Bobbie's praise of his mad medical skillz. Emily's arrival made for awkwardness and as she and Michael departed upstairs, Carly confronted Sonny about The Towel Thing. "Emily is not a bed bunny. She is their aunt!" Carly reminded. Sonny warned his ex to back off before she went down Crazy Carly Road again. "When Emily gets hurt, it will wreck you!" Carly pointed out. Not to mention Jason! So Jason showed up, and she told him about The Towel Thing. "No Plans, please!" he begged his impulsive pal. On her way into the party, Bobbie found Noah downing vodka martinis. Ouch! At the shindig, Carly prickled watching Mikey bond with Soily. Michael blew out the '10' candle on a kickin' sports car cake but was most impressed by Sonny's present: an ATV. Then, Carly confronted Emily about The Towel Thing, talking about the "ugly way" of Sonny's business. "He'll throw a glass...he'll yell at you." And then Jason would flip. "They won't get over you," Carly warned — and she and her boys would lose, too. Afterward, Em vented to Liz and Carly vented to Bobbie about Soily.

At Castle G, Jason pulled no punches with Sonny about The Towel Thing (can't someone just take out an ad in the PC Gazette?) Noah apologized to Bobbie and she gently suggested he get help for what was haunting him. Carly promised Michael that his birthday wish for her would come true. Em described her love for Sonny "like letting a genie out of a bottle," but assured Liz she wasn't going to tell the Dimpled Don how she felt. Jason told Sonny about his first memory of "this little girl with flowers." "Emily's not a little girl anymore," Sonny pointed out. In the hall last night, "it was a woman." But he hadn't touched her! He'd warned her that he was a bad man! "And I made it clear that we're just friends." Methinks the Godfather doth protest too much...

As if meeting towel-clad Sonny in the hall wasn't awkward enough, Emily couldn't get back into her room! At the hotel, Robin dished insults back at Carly as Patrick (and anyone else in earshot) listened in. In the restaurant, sulky Kristina refused to be placated by a museum trip. "Why won't you let her go to her brother's birthday party?" Ric asked Alexis. Outside GH, Dr. Meadows got plowed down by a car and, fresh off those brilliant paternity test suspicions, Courtney flashed to Jax fighting with the doc. Back at Greyskull, Sonny tried to help Emily with the stuck door and Michael walked up. Maxie and Jesse happened upon post-crash Courtney and the KinderKop asked Courtney for a statement. At Metro Court, Kristina didn't buy Ric and Alexis' reasons for skipping Michael's party and stormed off. "What's it like up there? On that lofty moral perch?" Carly asked Robin, taunting her about not being able to cure Jason OR offer him sex. Robin slapped her but Dr. Dimples emerged from Lurk Mode and broke up the rasslin'. (Darn!) At Avenue Q, Dillon hadn't taken Georgie to "porn films" as the recapper thought but to "foreign films." Dillon offered to help Lulu befriend Big Alice if the teen began volunteering at GH. Courtney Clueless hovered around GH and got woozy while Jax entered the hotel dining room with Kristina under his arm. He offered to take Kristina to try his chef's "extremely chocolate-y" dessert while Ric and Alexis discussed Michael and Morgan's influence on the kid.

Unconcerned about being Soiled, Michael easily opened the door. "It was a jiggle and a twist," Em said (about the DOOR, people). "We should remember that." She hurried inside, aflutter. Robin jetted from the hotel and Carly warned Patrick away from the hobbit-sized doc. "Why? Because she's HIV positive?" "No, because she's a bitch!" "It takes one to know one," Dr. Dimples observed. In the dining room, Ric listed Alexis' own creative uses of death threats in the home and Alexis admitted, wryly, that being attracted to Sonny was a "surefire way" to end up on Carly's hit list. At Castle G, Emily tried to explain the Towel Thing to a confused Michael — who just wanted waffles for breakfast. Then, she and Sonny met by firelight — dressed. Patrick defended Robin's need to control things to Carly, who claimed to have compassion for Robin's "tragic" situation but no patience for her "moral judgments." Then, Carly called Michael, who spilled about the Towel Thing. Downstairs, Sonny admitted to Em, "I got a certain reputation" with women. Jax convinced Kristina that Michael's party would be "boys acting dumb" and negotiated a deal trading the museum for the zoo. When he returned to a suspicious Courtney, she wasted no time in linking him to Dr. M's hit and run.

At GH, Lulu ran into the elevator to escape Liz's well-meaning lecture about helping sick people. Her worry: "What if I flip out like my mom?" Dillon kvetched at Liz about being back on babysitting duty, who pointed out that living at the Qs was no picnic for Lulu. Dillon fled into the next elevator to avoid his own lecture. Robin stepped off of it in quite the mood! Patrick tried to help her pick up some dropped files. "You feel sorry for me or something," Robin accused Dr. D. "Carly told you that I'm HIV positive, didn't she?" Carly climbed into Michael's window. Downstairs, the Firelit Flirt Fest continued as Em informed Sonny he couldn't make hotcakes in the morning because Michael wanted waffles. At Metro Court, JumpStreet Jesse got the heebies as he watched Courtney accuse Jax. So did Jax, for that matter! An appalled Jax ticked off Courtney's recent history of wacky accusations. She tearfully used the ole "raging hormone" defense and apologized — as Jesse confided to Maxie that there was a dent in Jax's fender. D'oh! Robin told Patrick to "stuff" his pity and the doc blasted, "HIV positive or not, you act like a jerk, you'll be treated accordingly!" Carly got the whole Soily Shower Saga from Michael and then decided to go check on Morgan (i.e. "check on Soily"). Carly hid as Sonny and Emily said their awkward "goodnight"s and went to their respective bedrooms.

Courtney told Jax that Nikolas was unable to make it home for Christmas, and asked if the Aussie was behind it. Jax hotly denied it. Luke came along and Court asked him why Jax would sell half of Metro Court to Carly. Prodded by Jax to tell her, Spencer spun a tale that Jax did it for Courtney because Carly is her best friend, but he didn't want her to know. Courtney apologized to Jax and gave him a kiss on the cheek before she left. Luke told Jax that he owed him and demanded that Jax put him on his payroll as a consultant in order to get the IRS off his back.

Patrick and Robin were dining separately at Metro Court until he wrangled an invitation to her table. They then bickered and he called her socially inept. The conversation led to her discussing her first love (Stone) and Patrick asked about her relationship with Jason. They shared details of their life stories and Patrick said he'd be damned if he ends up like his dad. He went on to say that he was a better doctor and man than Noah. But maybe not a better dining companion: Robin suggested he drop the "soulless jerk" act, handed him the bill and split.

In Jason's hospital room, Sam ranted to him about Alex's decision to defend Manny. Alexis interrupted and again noted the similarity between Manny and Jason's brain disorders and questioned how Sam could look the other way in terms of Jason's mob activities. Morgan ordered the lawyer to not disrespect Sam again and called Alexis selfish. Sam ordered Alexis to leave and then scolded Jason for not taking proper care of himself post-surgery.... In the corridor, Alexis told Ric about the encounter and he expressed doubts that Manny is a changed man. Sam asked Monica about Jason's impending release and fretted that she needs to get a grip. Monica visited her son as he packed up his belongings and explained that Sam is still recovering from all Jason went through and will hang on tight for a while. He thanked Monica for explaining and they embraced. Jason found Sam and apologized for not thanking her for all her care. They walked off hand-in-hand. At the penthouse, Jason carried Sam over the threshold and said it was his turn to take care of her.

Carly dropped by Sonny's and was bothered by a warm moment between Emily and the boys. Carly announced that she was taking Michael and Morgan home with her. After Em and the kids went upstairs, Carly told her ex that it's not acceptable for Emily to play mother to her children. Sonny assured her that though the boys love Emily as their aunt and godmother, no one can take Carly's place. When Emily came downstairs to go home, Carly invited her to a party for Michael at the Metro Court. Afterward, Emily returned with her face blackened by soot because of a flue mishap at the guesthouse. Since the guesthouse had no heat, Sonny told her to stay with them. Later in the hallway, the towel-clad duo ran into each other and mutual gaping ensued.

Carly arrived at Metro Court and was stunned to hear that her uncle is now a consultant for the hotel. She didn't like the idea of him eating up funds.... Alexis and Ric arrived with Kristina and Carly invited the girl to Michael's party. Alexis balked and said that she doesn't want her daughter spending time with Carly. The little girl brooded. Robin literally bumped into a party-planning Carly and yelled at her over trying to get a recovering Jason to bring a motorcycle to the party. An unseen Patrick listened in as Carly lashed into Ms. Scorpio about telling the truth about Michael's paternity all those years ago and brought up her HIV status. "No wonder Sonny won't take you back."

Court went to G.H. and was disturbed to spy Jax engaged in an intense conversation with Dr. Meadows. When Jax made his exit, she ran outside after the doc and asked what the fight was about. Dr. Meadows told her off for prying. An embarrassed Court slinked off, but turned at the sound of squealing tires. A car had hit Dr. Meadows.
