GH Recaps Week of Jan. 30, 2006

Nikolas and Sam were admitted to G.H. where the staff was overwhelmed by the encephalitis outbreak and the hospital was placed under quarantine.... Elizabeth tried to reach Lucky, who had collapsed at Nikolas's remote cabin. When Nik told Liz where Lucky was, she begged Jesse to go to the cabin. He did, but could not find Lucky... During his evening with Carly and the kids, Sonny took sick.... In the ER, Alcazar lashed out at Luke for causing Skye's illness.
Scorpio told Noah and Patrick the hospital had to be placed under quarantine. Visitors to the hospital were outraged. Scorpio called for the commissioner, Mac, Scorpio's brother. Mac walked up and a.) hit Scorpio b.) ordered the crowd to stay put and c.) threatened to kill Scorpio. Mac blasted Robert for hurting Robin.... Fearing HIV-positive Robin would be put at risk, Patrick tried to make her leave, but she refused.
The chimp escaped from its cage and ran through the hospital. Sonny, Carly, Morgan, Michael and Max arrived at the hospital and were met by the SWAT team and forced into quarantine. Emily tended to Sonny, who admitted that he faked his kiss with Carly to push her away.... Dillon was hanging out at the coffee shop with Michael and the teens when he took ill.... Lucas told Tony that he was gay. The doc said he was proud of his son and they embraced.
Test results proved that the chimp wasn't the carrier of the infection. It must be Luke, said Scorpio, who ordered the patient put into isolation.... Robert told Luke he's producing a natural antibody that can be used as a serum, but Luke might die. Luke only cared about saving Lulu.
Jason and Carly chased the chimp outside the hospital and someone opened fire on them.

At Casa Corinthos, Michael raved about how much he liked the chimp to Emily. Sonny came in as Em explained to the boys that she wouldn't be seeing them as often.... Meanwhile, at the penthouse, Jason fretted to Sam about exposing Michael to Luke since he's sick. Sam's brother, Danny, came for a visit and Jason exited.... Em asked Sonny if what she thought they had was real, but he wouldn't admit to loving her and spoke of his ties to Carly. She sadly wished them luck and gave him a hug, Jason showed up and glowered. Emily left and Sonny thanked Jason for entertaining Michael with "the monkey." Corinthos wanted to talk about what happened with Emily, Jason was terse with him.
Alcazar and Skye made love on the floor in front of the fireplace. Afterward, he touched her forehead and was disturbed.... At Kelly's, Lucky told Elizabeth he was taking her on a romantic getaway, but wouldn't say where they were going. She noticed that he hadn't touched his meal and wondered if he was getting sick. Nikolas came along and Liz left for work. Nik observed that Lucky wasn't feeling well.
A feverish Lulu was wheeled into G.H. Luke brought along the chimp and the medical workers said the animal needed to be tested. Elizabeth turned up and Luke filled her in on the medical crisis. She realized that if the chimp is a carrier, they are all exposed. Luke collapsed.
Robin was flabbergasted to see her presumed-dead dad in an office at the hospital. She demanded to know if there was ever a boat explosion and if her mother was in on the lie. Scorpio said Anna doesn't know he's alive. She continued to blast him and Scorpio ordered her to shut up and listen. Robert said he faked his death to protect Anna and Robin because their lives were threatened by the agency. He was forced to go into covert ops where his job was to kill people. He explained that he'd been keeping tabs on Robin all these years and knew all about her time in Paris and HIV status. He explained that he was now working for a medical agency and was in Port Charles because of an epidemic threat. It turned out that Luke was exposed to a lethal encephalitis strain in the South Pacific. Patrick walked in and after hearing Robin's abbreviated update and reported that Luke was in the ER.
Elizabeth tried to phone Lucky to warn him of the exposure, but he was at the secret location, a secluded cabin.... Emily ran into Carly at Kelly's. Carly offered sympathy, but Em didn't want to hear it. Carly went to Sonny's place for a family dinner. Nikolas dropped in to Kelly's again and told Emily that he was under the weather.... Jason returned to the penthouse where Danny was worried about an ill Sam.... At the cabin, Lucky collapsed.... Luke couldn't believe his eyes when Scorpio appeared at his bedside. Scorpio told him about the epidemic. They saw Alcazar carry a passed-out Skye into the emergency room Robert told Luke he needed a list of everyone who was near the chimp.

At G.H., Skye caught Alcazar in a huddle with Manny, who was performing community service, and correctly suspected they were conducting business. However, Alcazar defensively denied it and she apologized.... Father Coates came by the hospital and asked Emily about having flu shots donated to his shelter, she noted they are in short supply. He went on to ask about Carly and Sonny and said he looked forward to marrying them again. After the priest left, Em confided to Elizabeth that she and Sonny are over, but then decided to go confront him.... Patrick offered to donate part of his liver to his dad, but Noah declined. He explained to Robin that he was protecting his son. Robin subsequently blasted Patrick for his harsh attitude toward Noah.... Jesse came by the hospital to monitor Manny, and admonished Maxie for volunteering there while Ruiz is around. She stood firm and they kissed.
Jason and Sam were surprised to find a chimp at their penthouse. He wanted to call animal control, but Sam was against the idea of having the animal locked up, and suggested they find the owner. Sam ran out to get food for the visitor. Meanwhile, at the Q mansion, Alice and Tracy fussed over an ailing Luke, and Dillon, Lulu and Georgie reported they couldn't find the chimp. Scorpio listened from outside and heard that Luke is sick and the chimp is missing. A worried Tracy made Luke recount when he started ailing and he told her about an ill boy in the Maarkam Islands and a missing tribe whose village was burned to the ground. A while later at Kelly's, Dillon did research on his laptop about another tribe that vanished, and suspected a government conspiracy. Sam walked in and overheard them, she realized they were looking for a missing chimp. She assured Lulu, she'd get the chimp back. Afterward, Lulu got a little wobbly, which worried Georgie. Back at the penthouse, Michael visited Jason and high-fived the chimp.... Scorpio slipped off to General Hospital and gained access to hospital files. Robin walked in and was shocked to see her presumed-dead dad.
At Kelly's Nikolas brooded to Alexis about Courtney and Ric and Alexis bantered over her job offer to work with Durant. She mocked his attempts at reverse psychology.
Luke overheard Skye tell Alice she was preparing for her date with Alcazar. He faked delirium and weakly called out that he needed Skye before it was too late, but was busted when Tracy came in and dumped ice on him. "You bastard, you faked the whole thing," she fumed. Luke insisted that he genuinely was ill, but Skye walked off and Tracy didn't believe him. He began coughing. Lulu waked in with the chimp, much to Tracy's chagrin. Lulu collapsed and Luke noted she was feverish. Spencer concluded that everyone who'd been in the Q. mansion in the past 24 hours was exposed to the bug and could carry it. There were shots of Jason and Sam (who'd gone to the manse to return the chimp, along with Michael), and Skye kissing Alcazar.

At Kelly's, Sam vowed to continuing following Manny, despite Jason's warnings of the danger. He asked her to go home, and despite her resistance, Sam reluctantly complied.
After Carly's kiss caused Emily to run out of Casa de Corinthos, Sonny chastised his ex-wife, stating that she needs to think before she acts. Carly reminded him that all of her dire predictions about Sonny and Emily forging a relationship are coming true. Jason arrived, and Carly filled him in on her scheme to make Emily believe that her relationship with Sonny was over. Carly exited, and Sonny verified that her story was true.
On the island, Scorpio stated to one of the workers that they needed to prevent "that man" (i.e. Luke) from leaving the vicinity, "Or else the whole thing will spiral out of control." Uh-oh....
At the hospital, Noah remained steadfast not to take a liver from a more deserving recipient. Patrick was furious with his father's apathy, and both men stormed off. At the nurses station, Robin saw that Emily was upset, and the women discussed their dislike for Carly. Emily truly believed Sonny and Carly were going to give their marriage another shot. She planned to wish them well and "just let go." Meanwhile, Elizabeth told Lainey that Bobbie was looking to make an appointment with her to talk about Lucas. Nikolas arrived and approached Liz and Lucky and stated that with Luke gone, he thinks Lulu should move to Wyndemere with him. Lucky agreed with his brother.
At the Quartermaine Mansion, Alice fixed Tracy a martini (sans rat poison) as Luke arrived home with his new pal, the chimp. "Oh, honey," a stunned Tracy replied. "You're home." Alice gave Luke a big hug, as did Lulu, who was flabbergasted to meet her dad's new friend. "The monkey goes," insisted Tracy. Luke filled the gang in on his exploits. Nikolas, Lucky and Liz arrived and extended the Wyndemere invite to Lulu. Nikolas and Luke argued over where Lulu was better off, then Luke got a big surprise when Skye came home with Lorenzo. Luke was furious to see "his woman" with another man, but Skye made it clear that she and Luke were a thing of the past, and her good night kiss sold home that she and Lorenzo are a thing of the present. The final straw was when Skye agreed with Nikolas about which home was best for Lulu. After more discussion, Lulu thanked everyone for their concern, but she vowed to stay with her dad. The chimp applauded. (Really!)
At the Penthouse, a rattled Emily showed up, and told Sam to relay the message to Jason that he was right. Em told Sam that Sonny and Carly were back together. Sam pointed out that when her and Sonny's relationship ended, it was also because of Carly. Sam advised Emily that the way to get over Sonny was to "reclaim your own heart." Meanwhile, Sonny told Jason that while he'll maintain the ruse, he was concerned about breaking Emily's heart. Jason believed that, while difficult, acting out the scenario was in everyone's best interests. Jason returned home, where Emily told him that he got what he wished for — she and Sonny are over. Em left, and Jason realized that he was actually the one who was hurting his sister. Jason then spilled the truth about the ruse to Sam.
Carly arrived at the hospital and lent Patrick a sympathetic ear regarding Noah, which irked Robin. Carly suggested they head to Metro Court to talk further. Bobbie caught up with Lainey and tried to pump her for info about Lucas's sessions, but the doc kept steadfast in not divulging any details and walked off. Noah emerged from the elevator in time to offer his old flame some counsel about their angry, bitter sons. Noah confided to Bobbie that he believed Patrick would be better off without him. At the hotel, Patrick thought Carly was coming on to him, but all she wanted was to talk. Eventually, he opened up and told her about Noah's condition. Carly vowed to help.
Back at the Q's, Luke developed a fever, and all the squabbling and in-fighting sent the chimp scurrying off. Suddenly, Luke collapsed.

On the island, Scorpio had a team extinguishing the fire and searching for clues about "the white man" who had visited the now-missing villagers. Later, Scorpio was shocked to see photographic evidence that the man in question was Luke. Robert then ordered the team to make the site look like they were never there.
Aboard a private plane, Luke spoke with Tracy and was relieved to learn that the coast was clear at home and that he wasn't facing murder charges. Luke then got her goat saying he was bringing home, "a friend." (Psych! It's the chimp!) After their call, Luke conveniently recapped his dilemma for a pretty stewardess. She flirted, but Luke admitted that he was spoken for. The "happy couple"/a.k.a.. Luke and the chimp then watched the in-flight movie (King Kong!) and Luke comforted his new pal during the ending of the film, stating not to worry because Kong's death was really just a metaphor. Later, Luke had a flashback of kissing Skye.
Back at the Q's, Georgie told Dillon that his hero worship of Luke was showing. Everyone seemed to have a comment about Mr. Spencer's antics and pointed the finger of blame at each other about why he had to leave in the first place. Dillon then found a story about the missing villagers on the Internet. As the kids tried to figure out Luke's involvement with the Internet story, Tracy and Skye sniped about their respective romantic entanglements involving Spencer.
At the hospital, Robin saw Noah being wheeled in after having suffered a fall. He asserted his sobriety to the skeptical doc. Meanwhile, at Metro Court, Carly was surprised that Patrick said he didn't want children. He suggested they explore their untapped chemistry, but Carly had no plans to be another notch in his belt. They then had a heart-to-heart about parents and children, each citing their own bleak pasts. "If I can be a parent, there's hope for you," Carly smiled. Robin then called Patrick about Noah. Patrick arrived at the hospital and accused Robin of sabotaging his date with Carly. She denied it, then showed him Noah's chart. There was a problem with Noah's blood work. Noah appeared, and after Patrick handed him the chart, Noah realized that "the poor guy" who needed a liver transplant was himself. As Robin went to check into the liver transplant database, Patrick sat down with his dad to talk to him about the procedure. Noah adamantly refused to accept the transplant offer, stating he would not take a liver from someone worthy who really deserves it. Patrick was furious by his father's reply and asked his pop to fight, if not for himself, than for his son.
As Sonny and Emily made out like there was no tomorrow, she rejected his suggestion of food and told him to stop talking. Clothing started coming off, but the session ended when Jason appeared in the doorway with a gun pulled. Jason explained that he thought Manny was after Sonny. Corinthos questioned if that was the truth. Emily left the room. Jason told the story and Sonny barked, "Go ahead. Get it out of your system!" Heated words were exchanged. Jason was furious when Sonny stated that he tried to give up Em but couldn't. Jason gave Sonny an earful and said he doesn't want to know what goes on between them, but Em emerged and accused her brother of emotional blackmail. Emily laid down the law with Jason, and he left. Though impressed by her spunk, Sonny agreed with Jason, that he and Em shouldn't be together, and then he left, too.
At Kelly's, Lucky showed up at Manny's door, where the exonerated criminal showed the copper that he was still wearing his ankle monitor Later, Jason showed up at Kelly's and told Lucky that he had broken into Manny's room earlier, and that the ankle monitor was there but Manny wasn't. Just then, Manny emerged and told Lucky that Jason was harassing him. Lucky shooed Manny out the door, then told Jason that while he can't get a warrant issued on J's say-so, he can look the other way. As Jason went on upstairs, Emily met Lucky and Elizabeth downstairs and filled her friends in on her romantic plight. Lucky and Liz expressed their relief that Sonny ended things, but Em stressed she didn't accept this decision. She vowed to fight for her man. Meanwhile, Jason broke into Manny's room (again) and caught Sam climbing in the window. Though she put up a fight when he ordered her to go, she honored Jason's request and headed back home. However, when Jason left Kelly's, he found Sam waiting for him outside. She apologized to her man for going back on her word, and stated that she's not going to take Manny's torment lying down.
Carly showed up at Sonny's for Morgan's blankie, and she realized Sonny was sulking about Em. He was in no mood for a discussion about his love life with his ex-wife, but when she realized it involved Jason, he opened up to her and even admitted that, when it came to how Jason would react, Carly was right. Carly was surprisingly sympathetic to Sonny's plight. As Sonny debated on what tact to take with Em, she arrived at the house and barged in on Sonny and Carly kissing. Em ran out, and when a perplexed Sonny asked Carly what that was all about, she replied, "That's what you wanted. Emily's gone."
