GH Recaps Week of April 24, 2006

Friday, April 28, 2006
Carly kicked off the Tony Jones Surgical Wing fund-raiser. Various gents (who seemed none to excited) appeared on stage to be auctioned off to the ladies. The women (who seemed none to excited) made their selections: Elizabeth got Alcazar, Georgie was with Noah, Lulu selected Dillon, Emily chose Patrick, Sam picked Ric, Maxie got Diego, Robin ended up with Jax and Bobbie paired off with Nikolas. Carly was alone. Many uncomfortable conversations ensued. The mood changed when Carly pulled Max on stage and announced to the attendees that she loved him. They kissed passionately, the music swelled and the crowd all jumped to their feet and applauded. Psyche! Poor Max was only dreaming. After Carly announced a ladies' choice dance, things lightened up. And she asked Max for a dance, it was for real this time. Aww.

At the Q mansion, Manny spied on Skye.

Robert insisted to his interrogator that MIA Luke was probably holed up in a cheap hotel room with some booze and a woman. (Elsewhere, the camera panned to a closed door with a "Do Not Disturb" sign and a bottle of tequila; a woman moaned suggestively off camera. Good one!) The investigator decided to play hardball and brought in a sexy brunette who implied that she wold give Scorpio a harsh questioning. Once they were alone, she straddled and kissed him. Robert was delighted to see the woman named Elsa — until she slapped him. (Talk about your mood swings.) She chided him for leaving her behind when he ran off with a dictator's daughter years ago, but he charmed his way out of it. Elsa assured her colleague that Robert was on the level. Meanwhile, a freed Robert burst into a room with a gun. "Spencer?" he gasped.

Durant called Sonny to report that Jason was released. Sonny contacted an armed associate and told him to get ready, then Sonny waited in the dark with a pistol. Someone showed up at his door, it was Michael. The boy asked why his dad was mad at Jason. Sonny tried to explain. After Michael was upstairs, Sonny placed another call to his associate. There was no answer, so he left an urgent message: The hit is off.

Jason showed up outside the auction, a delighted Sam made a beeline to him. Someone with a gun was watching them, the little red laser dot, was aimed right at Jason. Sam made her way to him and they embraced. Suddenly, Jason looked up with a stunned expression — the back of Sam's pretty white party dress was stained with blood.

Which woman stepped up to pick a bachelor first? Bonus: Who actually went first?

On the plane to the Maarkham Islands, Robert realized too late that his drink had been drugged — by Luke. Passed out, Robert had flashbacks of he and Holly from back in- the day. (Yay! Vintage flashbacks!) Robert was awakened when he was arrested after agents found a gun in his luggage. Robert claimed Spencer was behind this.

Carly refused to believe Sam's accusations that Sonny was responsible for putting Jason in jail. Sam was furious when Sonny wouldn't recant and stormed out. Carly pleaded for Sonny to tell her that Sam was wrong, but he didn't. Sonny said Jason betrayed him and should have been killed for it. Instead, he let Jason live and threw him in jail to take back what was rightfully his. "Wow," sighed Carly. "You must be Sonny Corinthos. We meet at last." Sonny shouted that he refused to give up Emily just because Jason told him to, and Carly called him a hypocrite. As Emily eavesdropped on the argument, Sonny called Carly on her lack of loyalty to him, and she made it clear that Jason was who she was loyal to.. She then called Sonny a selfish bastard and stormed out. Sonny filled in Em about what he did. They argued, and she realized that she has destroyed Sonny's life. He pointed out that the cold reality of the situation is, "Only one of us can be left standing." Em suggested they break up, but he replied it was too late. Ric arrived and told Sonny he was needed at the police station.

Nikolas scolded doped-up Lucky for playing with a loaded gun. Nik refused to believe Lucky's claims that Liz is having an affair with Patrick. Nik warned his li'l bro that if he keeps up this rationale, he will lose his wife. Lucky then quizzed Robin about Liz's relationship with Patrick. Robin tried to comfort her pal and ordered him not to jump to any conclusions, then was paged away. Alone, Lucky popped his meds and some hidden pills, too. Later, Robin found Liz and said that she should go check on Lucky. She did, and found him in a delusional state.

After Durant congratulated Ric on manipulating Sonny, Ric went to Jason and thanked him for saving his brother's life. Jason ordered Ric to call his attorney. Justus arrived and informed Jason that Durant has a witness. Jason retorted that whoever is saying they saw him lied.

Robin listened to Lulu's pleas of help regarding Luke and Robert, and Dr. Scorpio told the girl to relax. Their fathers listen to no one, she replied. They reminded her that they've been getting in and out of trouble since before the girls were born. Lulu calmed down.

At the Q's, Edward relished the silence in Luke's absence, while Dillon recalled what he thought he saw — Tracy romping with Robert — and accused his mother of scarring him for life. Tracy quickly set her son straight. Later, she packed her bags and headed off to the Maarkham Islands. Meanwhile, Manny spied on Skye.

Carly blew into Metro Court and started chewing out the staff as they prepared for the charity auction. Jax took her outside, realized only Sonny could get her this upset and asked her to open up to him. Carly filled him in, as Jax offered a sympathetic ear. She was going to provide Jason an alibi, but realized she couldn't go between her best friend and the father of her kids, and lamented how powerless she felt. Carly lamented that if Sonny could turn on Jason, he could turn on anyone. She was thrilled that she has her own life now, and embraced Jax. When he said he'd do anything for Carly, she asked him to marry her.

At Sonny's, Emily packed her bags and left, asking Max to tell Sonny she loves him. At the PCPD, Durant told Sonny and Ric that he needed a positive ID on Jason. As Jason was brought out, Sonny had some vintage flashbacks of when Jason came to work for him. When asked by Durant, Sonny said that he saw Jason kill Miguel Escobar.

Still trapped in the Quartermaine freezer, Tracy begged Robert to end all the tales from "the good ol' days." Just then, Edward entered. Tracy was furious that Edward set Robert free and not her. Lulu, Dillon and Alice showed up and prevented Scorpio from leaving, however. Edward stormed off in a huff. Tied up once again, Robert suggested that he and Tracy work together to free themselves. After another dose about Luke and Holly's lost love, Tracy agreed to free Robert to keep Luke and Holly apart. Dillon arrived with food for the captives and mistook their writhing about to be of a sexual nature instead of an escape tactic and screamed. Robert then escaped and bid farewell to his captors.

Jax was curious as to why Carly was seated with Nikolas at Metro Court. She then asked Nikolas to participate in her fundraiser idea: A bachelor auction. Unbeknownst to them, an eavesdropping waitress called Manny and filled him in. In honor of Tony, and to thank them for allowing him to see John, Nik agreed to participate (and make a generous donation). After Nik left, Jax apologized that he thought Carly was about to spill the beans about John's paternity. Carly vowed that she'd abide by his decision. When Jax put himself up on the auction block, Carly showed twinges of jealousy, but wouldn't admit it. Jax countered her insecurity by assuring Carly that he didn't care what people thought — she's his girl. Carly headed to the hospital and corralled Patrick into participating in the auction. Patrick then asked Liz to be his guest at the function.

Lucky awoke screaming for Elizabeth and demanded to know where she was last night. At home with Cameron, where else? she replied. Liz was then paged away. Lucky continued hitting his morphine drip. Liz then met with Patrick, whom she stated she was with last night. They planned to meet again this evening. Epiphany encountered a reluctant Lucky when she came in to retrieve his morphine drip, on Patrick's orders. At the nurses station, Robin and Patrick continued their banter when Noah interrupted to discuss a new patient who needed surgery — one which echoed the same procedure Noah performed on his wife, whom he lost on the table. Patrick refused to let Noah perform the operation, but Noah pulled rank and exited. Patrick lamented to Robin that if Noah lost this patient, it could send him over the edge forever. Nik visited Lucky and was concerned that Lucky was pushing his rehab too hard. Nik advised him to slow down, but Lucky wouldn't hear of it. Nik went to Patrick and demanded Lucky get his pain medication back. Patrick pointed out it was only the drip that was removed — Lucky's going on pills now. Liz dropped in on her husband to give him his pills, but when he asked them to spend the night together, she offered up a lame excuse about a staff meeting (at night!) that aroused his suspicions. Later, Lucky eavesdropped on Patrick and Liz, convinced something more was going on.

Ric went to visit Sonny, but he ordered his brother away. Ric demanded to know if Sonny was planning on taking Jason out (and we don't mean to dinner!). Sonny reminded Ric that he has to get rid of Jason in order to save face. Ric suggested that rather than resort to murder, they should put Jason behind bars for Escobar's murder. Sonny refused. Ric kept up the argument, advising Sonny to be "the eyewitness" in the killing. Sonny pointed out that squealing on Jason was not the honorable solution, and also stated that he didn't even see Jason. He'd be lying. Ric responded that a jailed Jason would be better than a dead Jason. Later, Ric brought Sonny down to the station, where Alexis was stunned to hear Sonny's "revelation." Jason was brought in (off-screen) for questioning, and Sam showed up demanding answers. She couldn't believe that Sonny would be responsible for something like this.

Epiphany advised Robin to keep her fighting with Patrick under wraps. Just as Robin was lamenting how boring she'd become, Lulu showed up and said she needed Robin's help with their dads.... Nikolas caught a drugged-up Lucky loading his gun. Lucky told his brother that Liz has been lying to him and left the hospital with Patrick.... Skye told Jax that she'll be missing the fundraiser to get her bed rest. Jax understood, but expressed concern about Lorenzo being a bachelor up for bid, due to his unsavory occupation.... Ric told Alexis that Sonny will indeed be testifying against Jason and reminded his wife that this is their way to get Jason behind bars for good. They then decided on Chinese for dinner.... Carly got a big shock when she went to ask Sonny to participate in the auction and Sam burst in, calling him a bastard for putting Jason in jail.

At the crime family meeting, a shot rang out. Sonny reached to the blood on his jacket, but it wasn't his — it was Escobar's. The other family heads noted that since Sonny is under Jason's protection now, Corinthos won't get hurt.

"Don't just stand there looking stupid. Tie him up!" grinned Tracy after knocking out Robert with a frying pan. Alice showed up with handcuffs and locked Robert to a chair in the freezer. At the PCPD, Mac was informed that his brother never made his plane and has gone missing. He was last seen at the Quartermaines. Alexis entered the station and remained suspicious of Durant's motives for offering her the ADA job. Just then, news of the Escobar shooting came in. Durant ordered Sonny and Jason to be picked up for questioning.

Ric went to the penthouse and advised Sam to get Jason to back off from Sonny before it's too late. Sam countered by saying if Ric doesn't get Sonny to cool off, Corinthos may be the one who ends up dead. When Detective Rodriguez showed up, Sam said Jason wasn't home, but he countered that he wasn't looking for Morgan. He wanted to talk to her.

At Carly's house, she explained to Jax that since she hid AJ's paternity of Michael from him, she's not one to throw stones that he lied about baby John. However, the circumstances this time are way different. She warned him that if he's going to change his mind, he'd better do it sooner rather than later, for the sake of the baby. Jax agreed to consider his course of action. They kissed. Just then, Bobbie showed up saying there was a crisis. Bobbie needed a last-minute site for her fundraiser and asked for use of the Metro Court. Carly agreed, and Jax volunteered to cover all the expenses. Bobbie wanted to stay and go over details, but Carly and Jax gave her the bum's rush in order to make love. Afterward, Carly was brainstorming ideas for the fundraiser but Jax momentarily thought she was talking about their lovemaking.

As Tracy denied everyone's accusations that she really loves Luke, Robert regained conscious and claimed he was blind. Lulu and Dillon went into a frenzied panic. Mac arrived in search of Robert but Alice played dumb and kept him in the dark. Oblivious Edward got blustery, then told Mac they'd call him if Robert turns up. The kids brought Monica to examine Robert, who admitted he feigned the blindness. Robert then decided to work Tracy, citing that voluptuous Holly could make Luke putty in her pretty English hands. Tracy bought into Robert's stories about losing Luke to Holly and agreed to free him. The gang had other plans, though, and tied up Tracy. Upstairs, Edward confronted Alice, stating that she was acting suspiciously and asked if she knew where Scorpio was, prompting her to drop the frying pan. She snuck away and returned to the freezer, where the gang decided to gag loudmouth Tracy.

Sonny returned home to Emily, who panicked when she saw the blood on her beau. He quickly explained it wasn't his. Normally he wouldn't discuss business with Em, but since it involved her brother, he would. Sonny explained that Jason killed Escobar in order to protect him. Just then, Ric arrived and declared the police are on their way. Sonny cleaned up, and Mac arrived to question Sonny.

Just as Sam was brought in to the PCPD for questioning, so were Diego and Georgie. Apparently Diego charged with stealing a car. Alcazar and Skye showed up, but Lorenzo wouldn't let Skye post bail. Meanwhile, Alexis advised Sam not to say anything to the police and that now is the time for her to leave Jason. Sam appreciated the concern, but refused to abandon her man. Skye quizzed Georgie about why she was with Diego and reminded her that she's a married woman now. Alcazar pulled Diego aside and got the truth out of him — Diego did steal the car. Lorenzo paid the bail, but warned Skye to steer clear of his firstborn, as Diego instructed Georgie never to call his father for assistance again. Ric showed up at the station and formally dissolved his law partnership with Alexis, now that she's the ADA and he's working for his brother again. They kissed, and he agreed to bring home sushi for dinner.

Jason sent a message via Bernie to Sonny saying that he'd continue to protect him and his family, but he is not to participate in any more business activities. Sonny told Em he needs to handle this tonight and sent Max out to retrieve Jason. Sam showed up at Sonny's, saying no one knows where Jason is at the moment. Sonny was not pleased. Sam explained that Alexis helped get her out of the police station, and that Jason never got a message to meet him. Sonny refused to accept the fact that Jason no longer works for him, and threatened to kill Jason if he doesn't listen and adhere to Sonny's wishes.

Nikolas arrived at Carly's door just after Jax finally confessed about the faked paternity test results. Carly invited Nik to sit down. When she suggested a visitation schedule, Nikolas grew suspicious but was grateful. After Nik left, Jax thanked Carly for not spilling the beans, but she declared he needs to give her a reason not to tell. He claimed his actions were due to his desire to keep the child safe from the Cassadines. Carly was sympathetic to Jax's side of the story, and Jax admitted that just before she died, Courtney learned the truth. Carly was shocked that Jax denied Courtney's dying wish that Nik learn the truth. She also expressed her concern that if Nik does learn the truth, she may never get to see baby John again.

Robin threw Patrick down on the bed and ripped off her sweater, saying she was finally going after what she wanted. She then stopped herself and stated she was only using him because she was angry with her father. Patrick didn't mind. Robin retreated again, then Patrick said something arrogant and the mood was ruined once more. Patrick told Robin that she's got major control issues, but she blamed her lack of spontaneity on being HIV-positive. Robin told Patrick that he's hiding behind his bravado because he's afraid of experiencing true emotion. Rather than leave in a huff, Robin kissed Patrick again, but just as things got steamy, Patrick's date showed up. Robin left in a major huff.

Lulu called Dillon to her aid to help her deal with an unconscious Robert. (Remember, on Friday she'd hit him with a vase when he was off to pursue Luke in the Maarkham Islands.) When Alice approached, Lulu planted a kiss on Dillon to avoid suspicion. Despite their best efforts to cover, Robert regained consciousness but when Alice found out he was going after Luke, she belted him and knocked him out again. Alice then carried Robert downstairs to the freezer and helped Lulu tie him up. As Alice covered with Edward and Tracy upstairs, Robert warned Lulu that Luke is in danger from Holly. The kids went outside to talk amongst themselves and decided to let Robert go. When they returned to the freezer, Robert revealed that he had already freed himself and was just making sure they weren't withholding information. Robert walked out, and after a loud bang and thud, the kids found Tracy standing over Robert in the hall, holding a frying pan.

Escobar met with Jason and basically asked the new don for a show of control. Sam told Jason that Escobar gave her the creeps. Later, Sam was concerned when Jason left the penthouse to take care of some business. Across town, Sonny quizzed Ric about whether or not he could kill someone, indicating that Jason's power grab may have to lead to Morgan's demise. Could Sonny actually kill his former best friend? Hmmm. When Ric favored the idea of rubbing out Jason, Sonny questioned his brother's true motivations. Ric pledged his loyalty to his brother. That evening, Sonny attended a meeting with Escobar and other crime lords, where they told Corinthos that they're aligned with Jason now. As Sonny told the crooks that he was still in charge, Jason hovered outside with a rifle and after taking careful aim, pulled the trigger.
