In the Maarkham Islands, Luke and Robert were out of options as the bounty hunters planned to collect their money. Lulu attempted to get the bounty hunters to release them all by pointing out that they could take Holly's jewels instead. The goons took the gems, all right, but refused to release the prisoners. As Robert and Luke bickered and assigned blame to one another, Robin screamed for them to shut up. The distraction was all Robert needed to bust his ropes and overtake his captors. He and Luke succeeded in taking the goons down and freed the others, with a little help from Lulu and Dillon. Outside, the gang realized they had no vehicles of transport to escape, that is, until a chopper appeared in the sky. But it wasn't Luke's pilot, Waldo. "Then who'd come here to rescue us?" quizzed Robert. Uh, we know!

In Australia, Lady Jane Jacks was surprised to find Carly in her home and exclaimed, "What on earth are you doing here and what have you done with my son?" Carly explained that all the kids were at the beach with Leticia and Jax was on a phone call with brother, Jerry. Jane noted that it was a good time for them to have a talk. That would have to wait, though, because Carly brought John in to meet his grandmother. As Jane doted over the baby, Michael and Morgan entered and caused a ruckus, ruffling Mrs. Jacks feathers — especially when Michael accidentally sprung the a lizard in the room. The lizard, it turns out, was one of an endangered species that Jane had collected to study. Oops!

Just as Sam's operation was about to begin, Alexis burst into the O.R. with the injunction to halt the proceedings. Jason and Ric followed, and Patrick cancelled the surgery. Elizabeth tried to talk Ric into using Patrick, but he pointed out it wasn't their call to make. Jason didn't want to hear Alexis's rationalizations, while Alexis feared for Sam's well-being. In the hall, Patrick and Noah argued about Patrick's true motivations for wanting to perform the surgery. Noah told his son to leave Sam alone. When Jason implored Patrick for help, Dr. Drake, Jr., asked Liz for her help in performing the surgery, despite the injunction. Later, Epiphany came into Sam's room to take her for a test, while Alexis fretted with Ric about whether or not she made the right decision. Liz told Jason the plan was in action, and reassured him he was making doing the right thing for Sam. Downstairs, Alexis reminded Ric that Kristina had a dance recital. He agreed to take care of it and left. Then, Alexis went in to check on Sam and discovered the ruse. "Where the hell is my daughter?" she demanded to know. Meanwhile, Jason kissed Sam as she went back into the O.R.

Max drooled over Sonny's Maserati and fantasized about having it for his own. Outside, Sonny pointed out to Emily that in light of Sam's condition, it's their duty to live their lives without regret. When it was time for them to go out on their date, Max was crestfallen when Sonny wanted to drive — without him. As Sonny and Emily took off, Max expressed concern about Sonny's newfound happiness. Sonny and Emily drove to the local make-out spot, where he reiterated how happy he is to be free of the business and be able to have a regular life for a change. Em was shocked when Sonny wanted to have sex in the public place, since he's normally such a private person.

Back in the Maarkham's, the rescuer climbed down the helicopter ladder, removed her helmet and revealed herself to be.... Anna Devane! Anna hugged Robin and upon seeing Robert alive and in the flesh, karate-kicked him in the face and called him a bastard.... Carly and Jane rolled the dice to see if Carly would stay or go. Jane planned to do whatever she could to prevent Carly and her son from being together, but when Carly talked back and said that wouldn't happen, Jane fainted.... Alexis found Jason and was furious, vowing that if Sam died, she'd have him put away for murder.

In the Maarkam Islands, Holly slept with the diamonds as the rest of the gang plotted how to steal them away from her. Later, Holly came downstairs dripping in diamonds and enjoyed the breakfast Robin prepared for everyone. Holly, Robert and Luke choked on their food when Robin said they were turning themselves in after their meal. Needless to say, no one else shared her opinion. After the kids insisted to the adults that they're not as young as they used to be, Luke bawled out Lulu, who then stormed out of the room. Holly went after her and advised her to always play to a man's vanity. They bonded when Holly said it was okay for them to leave — she'd keep an eye on the coots. The kids agreed to take off and the girls shared emotional good-byes with their errant dads. The kids later returned, however. They'd been trapped by a wild animal. Luke and Robert went after the beast themselves. The men returned victorious, and found the gang tied up by the bounty hunters.

Emily returned to a room full of flowers at Sonny's. While she appreciated the romantic gesture, she was surprised by its showiness. After Em updated Sonny on Sam's condition, Sonny regretted that he was not able to be there for Jason. He pointed out that they must always live life in the moment, because in the next, everything could be gone. Then, more flowers arrived for Emily.

Patrick returned to the hospital, where Noah advised him not to operate on Sam, while Alexis and Jason butted heads on whether or not Sam should have the surgery. Noah argued that Patrick was interested in the surgery more for his ego than for the sake of his patient. Noah believed if Patrick went through with it, Sam would die on the table, which Alexis overheard. In Sam's room, Liz assured Jason that with Patrick's background, if anyone could pull off the risky operation, it would be him.

Skye was unnerved by a patio full of baby gifts that arrived from the Escobar family. Alcazar tried to assure his pregnant lady love that he was not about to get back into the mafia game. He vowed to focus on her and the baby. Georgie stumbled upon all the gifts and was shocked. She then asked Skye for some shoe advice. Skye was not pleased to learn that Georgie was not attending the prom with her husband. Georgie vented her anger about Dillon taking off. Skye accused her of trying to teach her hubby a lesson. Georgie questioned whether she and Dillon married too young. Skye then asked where Diego got all the money for the limo, etc. Outside, Diego tried to convince his pop that now was the time to act, but Lorenzo stuck to his family values. Diego carried out Lorenzo's wishes and told Escobar that his pop respectfully declined the gifts and the offer to join forces. Escobar then asked Diego if he was interested in some work.

Sonny went to the hospital, but Monica advised him not to speak with Jason unless it was to announce that he and Emily were through. Sonny bumped into Jason and advised him not to panic regarding Sam. Jason was appreciative of Sonny's visit. Emily laughed when Sonny returned home with a new Maserati, considering that he doesn't drive. He told her that being out of the business has given him a new lease on life.

Jason told Alexis that he wants Sam to have the surgery, but Alexis was adamant against it. Jason said it was his decision to make. Against Alexis's wishes, Jason signed the consent forms. Prior to the operation, Jason removed Sam's engagement ring, told her it wasn't how he planned to celebrate her birthday and told Sam that he loved her. In the O.R., just as Patrick was about to make his first incision, Alexis burst in with a court injunction forbidding him from operating on her daughter.

In the Maarkhams, morning fell awkwardly as Dillon woke up next to Lulu, and Holly somehow found a way to sleep between Robin and Patrick. Upstairs, Luke and Robert were still trying to crack the safe. Frustrated, Luke kicked it — and it opened. Downstairs, Patrick's and Holly's flirtation really irked Robin, and Lulu saw through Holly's damsel-in-distress act, as well. When Robert and Luke came downstairs all smiles, the gang suspected something was up. Just then, a diamond necklace dropped out of Luke's pocket. Luke copped to finding the jewels in the safe. Holly claimed they were hers, but no one bought that story. As they all argued, bounty hunters showed up demanding the fugitives surrender. The kids opened the door and pretended they were on a double date while the adults hid. To cement the ruse, Robin and Patrick made out and Lulu locked lips with Dillon, as well. The bounty hunters bought the charade and left.

At Kelly's, Nikolas arrived and found a distracted Maxie, unaware she was still reeling from learning the truth about John's paternity. Georgie showed up with a crisis — she needed a prom dress. That fem dilem sent Nik on his way. Maxie was not pleased when her sister told her the identity of her prom date. Speaking of whom, short on cash, Diego agreed to steal a car for Coleman in order to get Georgie a limo for the prom. Maxie chastised her sister for being jealous of Lulu and said she shouldn't use Diego. When Georgie refused to listen and ran out, Maxie chased after her and dropped the paternity test results. Nik picked them up, went after her and handed them back to Maxie without looking them. Stunned Max stayed mum.

Dr. Lee told Alexis that Sam's condition continued to be grave with little sign for improvement. Ric arrived with a Get Well card for Sam from Kristina. (No, she doesn't know she's got a big sis yet.) Alexis noted to Ric how she and Jason have, "united in a common cause." Liz entered Sam's room to begin the next transfusion and was relieved to see Sam's blood pressure was up and summoned Dr. Lee. Alexis and Jason remained reunited in the hope of Sam's recovery. That hope was short-lived and Dr. Lee ordered Liz to find Dr. Drake and fast! Dr. Lee told Liz that Sam desperately needs surgery. Just then, Mayor Floyd showed up looking for Sam. Floyd then chastised Alexis for hanging out with known criminals like Jason. When Floyd learned Sam was Alexis's daughter, he mentioned that if she put her daughter's fiancé behind bars, Alexis, "could own this town."

Rodriguez told Lucky he checked out the address Lucky gave him — it's a side entrance to the Cosmopolitan Hotel. Lucky was convinced his inclinations about Liz and Patrick having an affair were correct. Nikolas showed up and Lucky told his bro that he lost Liz to Patrick and begged Nik to help him catch her. Nikolas suggested Lucky confront his wife, but Lucky refused, holding out hope that he was, "misreading the evidence." Seeing his brother's angst, Nik agreed to help.

Diego almost got busted by a stranger while stealing a car, but talked his way out of it.... Lucas asked Guy to be his date as a chaperone to the prom. Guy agreed.... Stan showed up at the hospital and we found out mouthy nurse Epiphany is his mother! She relayed her frustration to Liz that her whiz kid son is on Sonny's payroll. Meanwhile, Stan informed Jason that Alcazar was making "business" moves while Jason was preoccupied with Sam....Liz was able to reach Patrick and told him of Sam's dilemma. Patrick agreed to fly home immediately. Luke's chopper pilot arrived to take Patrick back to civilization and return for the others later.... Edward flagged down Mac to inform him that his car was stolen. Georgie overheard and when Diego told her that he'd gotten the cash he needed, she wondered.... Maxie got an idea and called Jax.... Dr. Lee told Alexis that, after careful consideration, an operation was too risky, while Liz informed Jason that even though the surgery was risky, but she believed Patrick could save Sam's life.

Lulu and Dillon's unexpected arrival in the Maarkham Islands put a damper on Luke's advances toward bathing beauty Holly. Then, Robin and Patrick entered and cooled off any hope Luke had with his saucy Brit. Then, Robert entered after Luke had locked him out of the mansion, and was shocked to see his daughter standing in the room, as well. Then, the bickering began, as the kids told the adults they were too old to be acting like adventurous children. The adults didn't take those comments too well, and Luke was not at all pleased about Holly flirting with Patrick. Luke told the kids to go home, but after Lulu's impassioned speech to her dad, sentiments echoed by Robin to Robert, the kids vowed to stay.

Lucky stewed over the note he found from Patrick asking Elizabeth to meet him. He then quizzed his wife about Patrick's whereabouts and why Dr. Drake took him off morphine. His interest in those matters waned, though, when Liz filled him in about Lulu's activities.

Dr. Lee told Alexis that Sam's blood wasn't clotting properly and the constant blood transfusions weren't helping — she was heading downhill fast. Jason refused to, "Sit around and watch Sam die!" Meanwhile, after bean counter Ms. Sneed brought it to the Chief of Staff's attention, Alan chastised Monica for using a rare blood type for Sam's transfusions since she was being declared terminal. (Nice going, Sneed!) Meanwhile, Jason and Alexis declared an unofficial truce as they fretting over Sam. Alan broke the bad blood news to Jason, prompting Alexis to freak out. Emily wandered by with an idea. She called Liz to donate plasma and went to Sonny's to ask him to donate, too. Nikolas arrived at the hospital and Alexis broke the news that Sam is her long-lost, presumed-dead daughter. Afterward, he chastised Jason for, in his eyes, pressuring Sam into keeping mum, thus eliminating any time mother and daughter had to bond. "Sam made her own choice," he replied. Maxie eavesdropped on the exchange.

Ric had trouble taking in the revelation that Sam was his step daughter.... Lucas told Maxie that he has been asked to chaperone the prom. She laughed, but then they reflected on their lost loved ones, Tony and Jesse, and their mood changed to somber.

At Kelly's, a distracted Georgie bungled an order. Diego leapt to her defense by threatening the irate customer. Said irate customer turned fearful and left, which didn't please Mike. Georgie then lamented to Diego that Dillon ran off to the Maarkhams without even asking her to join him. And, he'll miss her prom, she huffed. She then had the bright idea to ask Diego to go in her husband's place.

Alexis sat at Sam's bedside and recounted how much she missed her baby girl. (First steps. First words. Blah, blah, blah. You get the picture.) Ric showed up and comforted Alexis, and Sonny arrived to participate in the blood drive for Sam.

Nik mentioned his situation with Maxie about baby John, just as Emily walked up, thrilled that Nik's blood was a match for Sam's.... After Lulu's unloading on Luke, she and Dillon shared a warm moment in the Maarkhams.... Jealous Lucky asked Rodriguez to tail his wife.... Mayor Floyd showed up at the hospital, telling Alexis that it was time to head to the press conference announcing her as the interim D.A.... Jason told Sam he doesn't want to say good-bye to her, then kissed her on the forehead.... On her mail run, Maxie discovered the envelope with the paternity test results in Robin's mailbox and read that Nik is John's daddy.... As Luke and Robert tried to crack the mansion safe, they discussed their daughters and their horrible parenting skills.... Ric took care of Mayor Floyd for Alexis, telling him to make the announcement himself.... As they observed Jason's vigil at Sam's hospital bed, Mike told Sonny that Jason needs him.

At Holly's abandoned mansion in the Maarkham Islands, Luke and Robert bickered as they doted over Holly in the bath, unaware that Robin and Lulu, accompanied by Patrick and Dillon, were on their way to track down their errant dads. As the boys one-upped each other at the manse, Holly enjoyed the attention. Luke found a safe while searching for a towel for the bathing beauty. He tried to keep it quiet, but Robert knew the look of money on Luke's face. While the boys continued to trick each other, Holly located an old dress in a chest and dressed. The kids arrived on the scene, and while Robin saved Patrick from a snake, Lulu and Dillon caught Luke and Holly canoodling. Lulu was horrified.

Carly chewed out Sonny for being disloyal to Sonny. She told him he was selfish and he has broken their family..... Ric was concerned when he couldn't get Alexis on the phone and grew worried when he discovered that last person she was seen with was Jason.... Michael and Morgan accompanied Jax in bringing baby John home from the hospital. Meanwhile, an unseen person in a lab put a copy of John's paternity test results into an envelope marked "urgent." The envelope later turned up in Robin's mailbox at the hospital.

Fearing Sam could die, Jason spilled the truth about Sam to a shell-shocked Alexis. While Monica and Emily visited, an ever-weakening Sam, she told them that Jason loved them, then lapsed into unconsciousness. Sam stabilized, and Jason brought Alexis to Sam. When Alexis asked to sit with her, Monica was surprised. Jason brought his mother into the hallway and gave her the news about Sam's "new" blood relative. When Sam opened her eyes and saw Alexis, she whispered, "Mom." Alexis told Sam she knew the truth and would be there for her daughter. The women shed tears and agreed that they had a lot to talk about but, for now, they'd just hold hands. Sam thanked Jason for telling Alexis the truth, while Alexis went to get an update on Sam's condition. Dr. Lee told Alexis that Sam is dying. Both Alexis and Jason were distraught when Sam fell asleep and wouldn't wake up. Alexis broke down in tears and cried on Jason's shoulder.

Nikolas argued with Lucky after he insisted to his brother that Elizabeth was having an affair with Patrick. Liz approached and kissed her hubby. Later, Liz was thrilled to have Lucky home from the hospital and when she surprised him with a party, Lucky felt embarrassed and ashamed of his suspicious nature. Nik basically said, "Told ya, so!" later, however, Lucky found a note to Liz from patrick.

Carly went to Jax's to pick up her boys, and was amused by her harried, henpecked babysitting boyfriend. They then got serious and discussed his motivations for keeping John's paternity, then he mentioned that his mother, Jane, wants to meet her "grandchild." Jax asked Carly for her and the boys to accompany him to his mother's in Australia.

Sonny was sad to hear about Sam's deterioration from Emily and suggested that they keep their distance from Jason — for everyone's sake. Emily reaffirmed her love for Sonny. Ric arrived and expressed his concern for Alexis's whereabouts. Sonny reluctantly filled in Ric about Alexis and Sam's connection.
