GH Recaps Week of August 7, 2006

Friday, August 11, 2006
On the docks, Lulu repeatedly assured Sonny she'd be okay but then backtracked: "No, I won't." Sonny reminded her about owning the club with Luke, even mentioning the camping trip they'd once taken with Lucky and his admiration for Laura. Sonny called Lulu on her avoidance of her problems. She swore Sonny to secrecy and finally coughed it up: "I'm pregnant." (And, for once, Sonny's definitely not the father!) Lulu recapped the whole sordid Dillon/Georgie/Diego mess to Sonny, who understood the situation all too well. "You got someone pregnant by accident?" Lulu boggled. The irony was thick as Sonny continued to counsel Luke's lonely daughter. He offered to set up an adoption or fund her keeping the baby. "You can't do this by yourself," he told her. Well, there was one thing he could do: "Tell your daughter that you love her." Later, Lulu ran into Dillon. They each had something to tell the other. "Georgie and I are getting back together," Dillon said. Ouch! Lulu's own news suddenly fizzled.

"Am I too late for dinner?" Patrick asked at Robin's door. She led him to a perfectly set table, since she'd been hoping he'd return. Patrick apologized for walking away. "I want to protect you," he said. His potential HIV strain could be worse than hers and "I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I got you sick." Robin told Patrick she'd been living with HIV since 1995, talking about the love she'd shared with Stone, and how she hadn't expected a future. She wanted to be to Patrick what Jason had been for her. "You're amazing," he said, kissing her. They then took their reheated dinner to go. At GH, the dinner conversation got heavy as Patrick told April how he'd come to understand her. Things pepped up as the trio bonded. "We have the opportunity to cherish every single day," Robin observed. All warm and fuzzy, they toasted to the moment.

Epiphany told Liz to go home and be with her husband. Snippy Liz wasn't quite so into that idea (Gee, we wonder why!). Georgie came by on candy striper duty and an even snippier Elizabeth wondered if Georgie knew what Maxie's summer plans were like...and if they involved "someone's husband." Georgie tried to defend Maxie's mindset as well as Lucky and Liz's epic relationship. Bitter Elizabeth told child bride Georgie she'd fought enough for her marriage. "I have nothing left in me." There was nothing left to fight for. Later, Elizabeth went off after seeing Kelly and an engaged Dr. O'Donnell flirting harmlessly. Epiphany dragged her aside and told her to go home. "Home?" Liz murmured, bewildered.

Alexis spotted Ric and Sam christening the couch and quickly lied to a newly-arrived Jason, "Sam's not here." She coughed, wheezed, asking Jason to give her a ride into town. At GH, Alexis blew off Epiphany's concern, flashing back on Ric and Sam's sexcapades at her oncologist's door. Jason came back to the lake house for another sweep and, naturally, he looked in the door — where Ric and Sam were still getting down. Jason looked again in case he'd imagined things. Nope, it was sex alright. Alone, Alexis sobbed in the GH elevator. At the Metro Court, Sonny and Kristina ordered some ice cream. He hadn't seen her because he'd been sick. "Mommy's sick, too," Krissy informed. "I think I'm allergic to the police department," Sonny joked as Alexis walked up. Alexis was visibly rattled but Sonny didn't push the issue. Per Lulu's request, he told Kristina he loves her. Then, the generator died and Alexis' cough got worse. "What's wrong?" Sonny demanded. Post-coital (and still dressed...now that's talent) Sam dreamed of Jason. Jason slammed into his penthouse, threw furniture and hit the bottle, Sonny-style. "Jason," Sam murmured but awoke to Ric pouring himself a drink. Meanwhile, Jason and his pal Jose Cuervo had angsty flashbacks about Maui. Then, there was a knock at the door: It was an equally angsty Elizabeth!

Carly asked Sonny if he's ready to take care of the boys while she chased Jax in Africa, and Sonny admitted he's not. Later, Sonny saw Alcazar leaving Lainey's office. Lainey promised Alcazar wouldn't get any dirt on Sonny from her. Sonny told her about letting Carly take the kids to Africa and asked if that means he's making progress. She said he is. Sonny admitted he felt that fighting with Carly beats being alone.

Alexis asked Jason to resist Carly's plots to get him back together with Sam. Sam overheard and blasted her for manipulating Jason's guilt, but he defended Alexis. "I can't love your anymore," he gasped, sending Sam fleeing. Alexis said that "was a gift to Sam," and he stormed out. Bernie came to the lake house to deliver Ric his walking papers. Furious, Ric pointed out the coffee deals would have made Sonny legitimate profits. When Bernie left, Ric flipped the table and threw stuff. Elsewhere, Carly asked Jason for a lift to the airport. He wondered why she cares about a man who walked out on her, and then blasted her for trying to manipulate Sam. But Carly insisted he get back with her. Meanwhile, a frustrated Sam returned to the lake house and shared drinks and sob stories with Ric. "My mother is a controlling bitch," she whined. Speak of the devil: Alexis appeared and demanded respect, but Sam had none. Alexis accused her of having no self-respect or sense of identity. Ric chided Alexis for calling her daughter "pathetic and degraded." Sam said Alexis always considered her "trash," that's why she tried to make her over, but it didn't work. Alexis insisted she didn't want Sam poisoning Molly's and Kristina's minds. Ric intervened and suggested Alexis was covering for some problem of her own, prompting her to storm out. Ric poured more drinks, and Sam said, "Nothing really matters anymore." Meanwhile, Carly reminded Jason that his friendship with Sonny puts him in danger every day, so why can't Sam make same choice? Carly accused him of letting Alexis manipulate him. Carly said she knows Jason will always be there to catch her when she falls, but who does Sam have? Finally, he allowed that maybe she's right, and he should go talk to Sam. Meanwhile, a sloshed Sam found boozy Ric cleaning up his mess. When she pondered leaving town Ric accused her of running away. (She shouldn't drink and run, right?) But she told him Jason "made it official": He doesn't love her anymore.

A stunned Elizabeth told the canoodling Lucky and Maxie not to let her interrupt, but "our marriage is over," and stormed out. She went to the docks (where EVERYBODY goes all the time) and was surprised to see Lulu, who suggested calling Lucky. Awk-waaaard! Liz went to Audrey and asked her to take care of Cam because she's working on stuff — her marriage is over! Audrey asked Liz if she still loves Lucky, and if so, can she see his side of things? Audrey warned her not to be too hasty about ending her marriage, and extracted a promise to try working it out. Meanwhile, Lulu visited a sloshed Lucky. She told him she needed brotherly advice, but he demurred. "I'm no hero," he understated. He screwed up and can never make it right, which makes him a Spencer. "It runs in our blood," he said, and tossed Lulu out.

As Carly left for Africa she set the house alarm, but the power went out. In the dark, Lulu went to the docks (where EVERYBODY goes all the time) and was surprised to encounter Sonny. He told her Carly went to Africa, and offered to listen to her woes. In the dark, Lucky popped pills and downed shots. Maxie appeared, and Liz watched as he took Maxie in. Alexis returned home to see Ric and Sam stripping and canoodling on the couch.

Robin refused to give Alcazar any information about Skye and her child. Sonny appeared and the mobsters traded barbs. Sonny suggested Alcazar was stressing over Rosales and Skye — and stress makes you careless. Lainey saw Sonny see off Alcazar, so in their session she asked how he felt about that. He admitted it felt good, and noted he's been taking the higher dosage of lithium. Sonny asked her to conduct sessions at his house, but she balked. He suggested pretending to date "for purposes of covert therapy." She said if he can't work therapy into his schedule, he could have another breakdown and hurt somebody he loves. (Like he hasn't heard that 1,001 times.) Later, Alcazar asked Lainey for an appointment.

Jane showed up to ask an angry Carly for help with Jax, who is in "the worst" trouble in Africa: He's taken up with a gold digger. Jane admitted sending the postcard to keep Carly thinking about Jax. Carly said it was more important to keep her pride intact than to be with the man she loves — she had enough groveling when she was married to Sonny. Now she's an independent woman. "Jax and I were awesome together — or so I thought," she said, by way of admitting she's afraid of getting hurt again. Jane said Jax loves the boys, so she should bring them to Africa, then left. Alone, Carly called for flight information. Later, at Sonny's, Carly was playing with Michael when Sonny came home. Michael said they're going to Africa to rescue Jax. Sonny asked her to leave the kids with him while she chases Jax — unless she doesn't trust him...?

Robin invited Patrick to dinner at her place. Later, Gwen bumped into Patrick and invited him to take her to dinner. He revealed his AIDS exposure, and she bolted. Later, Patrick met with a dolled-up Robin, who laid out a spread on her living room coffee table. The lights flickered, and he wavered at kissing her. He recapped about Gwen. Robin called Gwen prejudiced, then wondered whose HIV status Patrick was really worried about. So he left.

Lucky came home to an angry Elizabeth, who knew he wasn't on any late stakeout — she saw him in bed with Maxie! "How could you expect me to do anything else?" he wailed with a (mostly) straight face. Lucky insisted he felt like a zero, not a hero over the Manny mess — and, besides, hasn't Liz already slept with Patrick "all over the hospital"? A furious Liz threw the painkillers at the jonesing Lucky and stormed out. He picked the pills up off the floor and downed some with beer. Later, Liz ran into Maxie at the nurses' station. Maxie made coy small talk about Patrick, so Liz called her a "lying, manipulative bitch" and slapped her! Maxie insisted Liz has been cheating with Patrick for months, so she just gave Lucky what he wasn't getting from his wife. Liz lunged for her, but Patrick incredibly broke them up before any real catfighting. Liz threatened to rat out the "little skank" to her top cop daddy. After Maxie fled, Patrick told Liz he noticed Maxie and Lucky looked "comfortable," but didn't want to get involved. Lucky again managed to come out of the elevator just in time to see Patrick comforting Liz and get the wrong idea. Liz was angry at "barely legal" Maxie, but wanted to work it out with Lucky. Maxie and Lucky commiserated at the docks, and he dispatched her to buy drugs and meet at his place. Maxie then called the nurses' station and pretended to be a neighbor who heard "strange noises" coming from Nurse Spencer's place. Maxie found Lucky already sloshed, and manipulated him into kissing her. Liz decided to investigate the neighbor's message herself (what is this, a bad teen horror flick?). Finding the front door open, she came upon the lovers in a clinch.

Lulu's family and friends threw her a surprise 18th birthday party at Kelly's. Nikolas announced that he was re-naming John as Spencer. Lucky and Lulu were touched and laughed that Helena and Luke would hate the change. Lucky brushed off Maxie, then hit the bottle as he watched Elizabeth talk to Patrick. Elizabeth convinced Patrick to join the party: She didn't want to allow the doc to seclude himself. Nikolas warned that Elizabeth would never cheat on Lucky unless he made her think she had nothing to lose (foreshadowing alert?). Georgie scolded Maxie for cozying up to Lucky at the party. Maxie snuck off with Lucky and gave him more drugs and convinced him to have sex with her upstairs at Kelly's. Carly saw Lucky and Maxie kissing and followed them upstairs. Carly went back into the diner where Elizabeth was cleaning up alone. Elizabeth wondered where Lucky could be and Carly eventually blurted, "Lucky's upstairs having sex with Maxie." Planning to prove Carly wrong, Elizabeth marched upstairs and spied Lucky and Maxie in bed. Meanwhile, Dillon told Georgie that he wanted more than friendship with her, and she admitted that she still loved him. They kissed. Lulu visited an unresponsive Laura and confessed that she was pregnant.

Carly warned Sam that Alexis was trying to control her and cautioned Alexis that her daughters would resent her. Alexis kicked Carly out. Sam informed Ric and Alexis that she was taking herself out to dinner to celebrate her first paycheck. Sam left, and Alexis and Ric argued over his failure to defend her to Carly. Alexis went to work, where she informed Mayor Floyd that she had to tell him something. Ric arrived to find them hugging.

Emily arranged for Jason to have dinner with Edward at the Metro Court. Edward asked Jason to kill Alcazar so that Skye could raise her baby in peace, but Jason refused. Sam walked in and requested a table for one. Edward apologized for the things he said the night that Justus died and Jason fled for the balcony where he remembered the night Sam was shot. Sam found him there and Jason ordered her to run into his arms like she tried to that night. Jason realized that if Sam had run to him, she would be dead, so he told her for the 800th time that he can't be with her.

As Lulu left Lucky, Liz and Cam at the pier, she dropped her box of "condoms." A suspicious Elizabeth demanded to know whom Lulu was sleeping with, and Lulu fled. Recalling the fictional Elvis, Lucky scoffed at Liz and told her to stay out of it. Liz got mad and told Lucky she was taking Cam to Grandma's, but they should meet back on the docks for an argument. When she left, Lucky called Maxie and told her to buy more pills so he can give Liz his stash. At that moment Liz returned for their scheduled argument, telling Maxie she and Lucky needed to "speak alone." (Alone on the docks? Where EVERYONE goes ALL THE TIME?) Lucky admitted he blames himself for Jesse's death, but he takes the pills for back pain, and offered his wife the bottle. She initially balked, but took them anyway. "I'm not the bad guy," she insisted. Back home, Lulu opened a birthday card from Grandma Lesley. Then she opened a home pregnancy test. Tracy entered before Lulu got the results. She demanded to know why Lulu skipped work. and offered to take her to Kelly's.

At the police station, Alexis cut Jason loose, making Carly suspicious. The power blinked and they left. Carly recapped the Ric situation, and fretted over Sonny taking his medication before a meeting. Ric and Sam pondered how to share a house, and discussed Alexis' selective parenting of Molly and Kristina — she clearly favors Kristina. Sam and Ric traded sob stories about who's the bigger burden on Alexis, then Ric accused her of always defending Jason — even when he lied to and stole from Sonny. Sam insisted she never wanted Jason's money. Later, Ric went to the police station in search of Alexis, but she wasn't there. He became suspicious that she's never around anymore — even as Alexis seemed distressed by a letter.

Sonny's meeting turned out to be a crossover between GH and STARGATE SG-1, as Sonny held Rosales (played by Tony Amendola, SG-1's Bra'tac) at gunpoint, blaming Alcazar for spreading rumors about his professional demise. Sonny said Alcazar was working for Feds, and Rosales needed Sonny because all avenues pass through Sonny's territory. Bra'tac...er, Rosales was penitent, and Sonny ordered him to sever ties with Alcazar. Jason appeared just as Sonny sealed the deal, then asked to be taken home. Carly found Lainey and voiced her concerns. Lainey regretted booting Sonny out of their last session (ya think?) and told Carly to keep him on his meds. Back home, Sonny tried to self-medicate with booze. He forgave Jason for missing the meet, then admitted he doesn't feel completely in control. Carly arrived, and Sonny said everything's fine. Jason said the meeting was cool. While Sonny refused to talk shop, Carly fretted until he reassured her, so she left. "What do we do now?" Sonny asked, admitting he bluffed Rosales. Sonny asked Jason if he's ready to get back in the game; Jason said no. Suddenly, Ric waltzed in and accused Jason of not wanting Sonny to recover. Sonny blasted his brother. Ric called Sonny a figurehead, so Jason had to hold Sonny back from punching Ric. Jason and Sonny ordered Ric out. "I can't keep doing this," Sonny gasped. He went to Lainey at GH and surrendered to her judgment on meds and therapy. Whatever she wants, "I'll do it," he vowed.

Carly went to the lake house to tell Sam that Sonny "is back" — so Sam can get back with Jason. They quarreled over what more Sam can do to reclaim him. Carly insisted Jason loves her — just as Alexis returned. She ordered Carly out, and Carly warned Alexis that her kids will resent her until she does everyone a favor and drops dead.

At Kelly's, Lulu tried to check her pregnancy test, but a surprise birthday party broke out.
