GH Recaps Week of October 30, 2006

Friday, November 3, 2006
Lucky looked at the surveillance pictures, which showed Jason and...Bernie. Lucky begged off the case due to conflict of interest (he'd framed Jason before). Alone, Ric reminded a relieved Liz that he promised not to share the photos — he really was just trying to get Lucky back on his feet.

Jason opened the door to his nosy neighbor, who mistakenly thought Sam might be someone she knew called "Cookie." Stan arrived with fake IDs, and Jason was eager to get on the road for Canada then Costa Rica, but Sam decided to stay and fight the corrupt Ric.

Tracy offered to tell Laura why she's at The Haunted Star. Luke told Laura that he and Tracy are business partners, but Laura sensed he was holding something back and demanded answers. He flashed back to her breakdown, then told her that Rick Webber died in the car accident, and that's what he was hiding. She looked relieved, and asked him to take a trip to jog her memory. The pink Cadillac suffered a flat tire and they walked to Beecher's Corners in the rain. At the bed-and-breakfast, the innkeeper remembered them from their Lloyd and Lucy Johnson days. Laura wanted to see the movie theater and get coffee at Calhoun's. They slow-danced; she wept in his arms, and they finally kissed. Luke reprised the "Walls of Jericho" and hung a sheet between them. Laura was eager to reclaim her old life, and asked him, "Will you marry me — again?"

Alexis announced that she's back on the job — as of today. Mayor Floyd wondered if there were any conflicts of interest over Sonny and/or her daughter Sam. Alexis scoffed at Ric's flash drive evidence. Then she collapsed. Meanwhile, at GH, Carly was wary of telling Alexis they set a date, and they couldn't find her anyway. At the nurses' station, Nikolas recapped Laura's situation to Emily. Jax and Carly asked for Alexis — just as she was brought back in a wheelchair. Jax told Alexis they set a date. Alexis noted that today is her second anniversary and she's skeptical Carly can love Jax the way he deserves. Carly made sure that Sonny was coming to the wedding. Then Sonny went to Alexis and told her that the Jax/Carly wedding is never going to happen. Back at the police stations, Mac told Ric that Alexis had returned, and that he's starting to have suspicions about Sam's guilt.

Patrick fretted that he and Robin have become predictable, so she surprised him by taking him to the Star. Skye and Alcazar arrived and bickered with Tracy over naming their baby Lilah. Then Emily and Nik showed up together. Jax and Carly arrived, announced their date, and bought champagne for the house. Tracy warned him that his marriage would cost him much more than that. Patrick used gambling to demonstrate to Robin that taking risks is fun.

Sam and Jason took a risk by contacting Cruz to ask what evidence Ric has. Cruz didn't know what was on the flash drive, but noted that it disappeared just after Ric had left, and that Ric had met privately with Alcazar. Suddenly, Ric showed up, so Cruz and Jason drew on each other. Ric grabbed Cruz's gun and fired.

Robin advised Luke to tell Laura everything — but Laura was gone! She sneaked out to go home. Nikolas arrived at GH and joined the hunt for Laura. They recapped to Robin what put Laura into her catatonia: How, while preparing for their second wedding, she sensed something strange about the attic. Luke helped her recover the repressed memory of killing the nurse, and the horror led to Laura clubbing her stepfather Dr. Webber to death, resulting in her mind shutting down. Laura was looking at a wedding picture when a stunned Lesley walked in. They embraced. Laura recapped and asked about the accident. Lesley dodged by suggesting her doctors don't want to overwhelm her. "I just want my life to make sense again," Laura wailed. Later, Lulu came looking for her mother, and Lesley laced into her for being left out of the loop. When Luke showed up, he got blasted, too. But Laura was long gone. She went to GH and ran into Bobbie. Then Tracy showed up, demanding to see her "worthless husband." She was shocked to see Laura. Nik covered and hinted that nobody should tell Laura anything. A stricken Tracy fled. When Robin spotted Laura, she insisted she needs to be alone for one day and took off. A furious Bobbie called Luke to recap, then Luke called Nik. Lesley argued for telling Laura everything, but Luke said it's too dangerous. Luke next went to The Haunted Star, where he ran into Tracy, who laid into him. He suggested Laura's sanity is more important than Tracy's bruised ego.

Ric said he'd agree to Sonny's custody plan — but only if he got a signed, notarized statement from Alexis before calling off the manhunt for Sam. At that moment, Sam was dangling over the side of a roof by Jason's hands. (Apparently recalling Sam's rooftop fetish, Jason must have assumed it would be smart to run to the roof of an adjoining building to look for her.) He rescued her just in time for two cops to pin them behind a chimney. Jason drew his gun and covered Sam's escape. Jason led her to an apartment, where a suspicious neighbor challenged him and complained about a plumbing problem in his apartment. Sam faked the flu to get rid of the old woman. Inside, Jason picked the locks on her cuffs, and Sam mentioned the pictures of Liz and Jason embracing that Ric showed her. Meanwhile, Ric warned Liz not to help Jason and showed her the incriminating photos. Ric volunteered to...er, "console" her anytime, but she told him she and Lucky are getting back together. Jason explained the pictures and Ric's plot. "Do you have feelings for her?" Sam asked. Jason said he cares about Sam, and wants only Sam. A freed Sam took a shower. Alone. Then Jason told Sam that Ric faked the flash drive. He worried about her injured wrists, and they kissed — only to be stopped by the sound of the nosy neighbor telling someone about seeing "that girl."

Sonny visited Alexis, who, despite being one "tough cookie," was crying over losing her hair. Sonny told her about Ric's plot for Sam/Jason. Later, Mayor Floyd was angry over being summoned to the police station, but it turned out that he was summoned by Alexis, who was there to reclaim her job as DA. Meanwhile, Ric visited Lucky at Shady Brook, seeking his help on the Sam/Jason case, and handed him the pictures. But Liz stopped him from looking at them.

Tracy asked Luke what will happen when Laura finds out "you're married to me?" just as Laura walked in!

Sonny told Alexis that Ric arrested Sam to use it as leverage to get custody of Molly. At the police station, Ric scoffed at Sam's frame-up accusation and her threat of a sexual harassment suit. On the docks, Jason arranged for a lawyer just as Elizabeth wandered by. They agreed Ric is punishing Jason for sleeping with Liz, but Ric probably won't hurt her. A thug took pictures of their chaste embrace. Jason then visited Sam and vowed to free her. Ric threw Jason out. Then he showed Sam the pictures of Jason with Liz and jerked her chain about it. Sam hit him with a chair and made a break for it — right through the middle of the (deserted) squad room. Cruz stopped her at gunpoint, but then helped her escape. Jason next went to Sonny, who warned him not to bust her out. Too late! Max brought the news that Sam had escaped. Sam ran to the roof of the police station and barred the door with a pipe she ripped out of the wall with her bare hands!

Jax and Carly awakened to find Max watching them as they slept. Max took the candy and left. Later, she scolded Sonny for putting Max up to it. Sonny told her about Sam's arrest, and his plan to make Ric an offer he can't refuse. Alexis summoned Ric to scold him for arresting Sam. Later, Alexis told Jax she's furious that Ric dragged Molly into his revenge plot. Sonny told Carly he regretted not killing Ric when he had the chance, but she assured him that not killing his brother was the right move. A sullen Jax later found Carly brooding at the dock, and they compared melancholy notes. She told him to rethink marrying her. He insisted he's still up for it, and they set a date: Nov. 16.

Lucky asked Nikolas for help celebrating Liz's birthday today, so Nik set up a surprise party at Kelly's. He told her Lucky wants to give her gift in person. After blowing out her candles Liz got melancholy and admitted to Emily that she doesn't trust Lucky. Emily pointed out that if she's making progress with Nikolas, Liz can have a shot with Lucky. So Liz visited an apologetic Lucky at Shady Brook. He gave her a necklace for their anniversary and for a birthday gift: $300,000 to buy a house. He said it didn't matter where he got the dough (Really? She should just accept a large sum of money from a junkie?), but he borrowed it from Nik. She balked at committing to a house, but he vowed to get clean.

Ric promised Sonny he will recapture Sam. Sonny offered to surrender custody of Kristina to Alexis if she gives custody of Molly to Ric. All Ric has to do is drop the charges against Sam. Cruz told Alexis he suspects Ric framed Sam because it's all too perfect. Alexis told him to bide his time until they can prove it. After he left, some of Alexis' hair fell out. Meanwhile, Sam tried leaping from the roof of the police station to another roof, but fell short! As she clung to the ledge Jason grabbed her, but she was still dangling over the edge. Yes, folks: a cliffhanger ending!

Carly, who was dressed as a vampy vampire (or maybe a really "wicked" witch), informed Jax he will be taking Michael and Kristina trick-or-treating, so Jax insisted on doing it on foot. Meanwhile, Emily smuggled treats to Alexis, who suggested Emily spend Halloween at Windemere just as Nikolas walked in, also bearing candy. After she left, Alexis advised Nik to tell Emily he loves her. He wondered if Alexis was grooming him and Emily as a back-up plan for Kristina and Molly. Alexis admitted as much. Nik was skeptical he could get back with Emily. Emily, meanwhile, brought Jason party supplies and helped set up a romantic date for Sam on his roof. Later, Jax and Carly brought the kids to see Alexis and take pictures. Still later, Emily found Alexis weeping over a photo of her kids. Emily recalled crying when she had cancer, so it's okay, but Alexis should concentrate on the future. Resolved, Alexis told Emily to take the photo to Nik and tell him Alexis won't need the back-up plan. Emily found Prince Nik brooding in a field on Spoon Island, where she delivered the message, which Nik explained.

Cruz showed Ric an encoded flash drive found in evidence. Ric took possession of all the evidence for "safe keeping," but stole the flash drive from the box in the interview room. (Hope the surveillance system was turned off!) Sam, who insisted on leaving (for her date with Jason), fled just as Cruz appeared and told Ric the flash drive had disappeared. Ric ordered Cruz to search Sam's place while he got a warrant. Sam showed up at Jason's romantic love nest. They shared memories and he talked about his feelings and ate ginger chicken (of course). She made him try the sushi. Meanwhile, Cruz reported to Ric that he found a flash drive in Sam's room. Ric took time to congratulate Alexis on blocking his custody petition, but warned he wasn't finished yet — which puzzled Alexis.

Dillon and Georgie arrived at a college Halloween party, where Maxie, dressed as sexy "Nurse Feelgood," was getting sloppy drunk and slutty. She spilled a drink on a Reaper, then Diego reminded her that beer is bad for her baby. The Reaper gave Lulu a hard time about not having a costume before she started slamming shots. Dillon tried to stop her, and she moved on to doing a keg stand. Lulu told him her life is perfect, now that her mother is back — but nobody is supposed to know about that, or the fact that she's "a lying tramp" who had an abortion. Too bad the Reaper was eavesdropping. Meanwhile, Georgie asked Maxie if she's trying to lose her baby, but Maxie brushed her off. Later, Maxie told Diego she didn't want to be alone on her birthday. He said he could relate, so she kissed him as a birthday present. Lulu got into an argument with a Bride of Frankenstein and punched her out. When the Reaper confronted her, Lulu recognized him as Prof. Pete. He demanded to know why she's determined to be unhappy. Meanwhile, Nurse Feelgood brought Diego back to her room. When he fumbled for a condom she said they didn't need one, and he figured out that she isn't pregnant — but she "needs to be."

Sam and Jason danced, but before they could kiss, Cruz burst in and arrested her.

A distraught Laura demanded to know how long she's been in the hospital. After Luke revealed it had been four years, she embraced her kids. Luke told her she suffered a head injury while preparing for the wedding. Laura asked about the kids' lives. Nikolas showed her a picture of Spencer, and told her about Courtney and maybe having a thing with Emily again. Luke warned Lucky not to let anyone else know that Laura is awake, and disappeared. Lucky revealed that today is his first wedding anniversary, and he's a cop — which made Laura laugh out loud. He mentioned that he and Liz are having a kid of their own, and Laura rhapsodized about the love of a baby. Laura's talk was Lulu's cue to dodge the abortion issue. A nurse interrupted and shooed everyone out. "I'll be home soon," Laura promised. Meanwhile, Robert warned Luke that Tracy is out for his blood. Luke revealed that Laura is awake and said the flow of information to her must be controlled. Luke lamented that he got involved with Skye and later Tracy because he was sure Laura was never coming back. Now he realizes he's never gotten over her, and is in danger of falling in love with her all over again. However, he feared there's no going back, and sees no future for them together. Laura examined herself in a mirror, then looked at Luke's picture and got sad.

Jason warned Sam — who wanted to become Miss Independent — not to underestimate Ric. At that moment, Ric was arranging for Alcazar to deliver falsified evidence against Jason and Sonny on a flash drive. Ric plotted to add the fake evidence to confiscated legitimate records to nail Sonny. This way, Sam will be arrested and blamed for stealing the evidence, and when Jason tries to rescue Sam, he will be shot. Later, at the police station, Sam ran into Ric, who questioned whether she deserves to keep her job. She threatened a sexual harassment suit if he tries to have her transferred. Then a thug walked up and gave Ric the flash drive right there in the middle of the precinct. (Hope there are no security cameras!) Sonny ran into Liz on the docks, where she was mourning her first anniversary. Later, Jason visited Alexis and asked if she can forgive Sam. Liz conveniently eavesdropped as Jason told Alexis he's trying to forgive Sam. Mac told Sam she's a security risk. When Cruz brought Ric the evidence confiscated from Sonny (even before forensics got a look at it!) Ric planted the flash drive in box — right there in the middle of the precinct. (Hope there are no security cameras!)

Sonny asked Alexis to let him take the girls and move in with Carly and the boys, all for their protection. Jax backed the plan, and Alexis reluctantly agreed. Sonny and Carly returned home to find Michael, Morgan and Kristina holding Max and Milo "hostage" and playing with guns. Sonny left for a meeting, leaving an angry Carly alone, but Jax mysteriously appeared inside Sonny's house. He then bribed the kids with candy and video games. Shockingly, that was fine with Carly! Jax said he's taking things so well because he loves and trusts her. Sonny interrupted their smooching to point out that the kids are watching. Carly accused Sonny of putting the kids up to it.
