On the docks, Alexis bumped into Ned, where the former lovers sat down to catch up. Alexis gave Ned the update on her condition, and thanked him for her Christmas gift. He gave her warm words of support, which she deeply appreciated. She said she wished she had appreciated him more when they were together, prompting him to smile. (Nexis fans got their Holiday gift with this sweet scene!)

At the penthouse, Jason and Sam brought home a tree to decorate. She thanked him for sending Spinelli to Tennessee to spend the holiday with his grandmother. He was just glad to have him out of the house.

At her house, Carly broke the news to the boys that Jax was gone and the wedding was postponed. She promised they'd all elope when Jax returned.

At the hospital, Elizabeth was upset that she couldn't get the hot toy of the season for Cameron. Audrey tried to calm her irate granddaughter. Lucky arrived and asked to escort Liz to the Christmas party. She turned him down. Alexis and the girls arrived and bumped into Ric. The adults remained civil and Alexis mentioned that Kristina still hasn't spoken. Mac and Lucky admonished Maxie for donning her traditional elf suit so soon after her "miscarriage," but she said she refused to sit home and mourn her "loss." Patrick pulled Robin behind the Christmas tree to smooch. Georgie, dressed as Mrs. Claus, was furious to find Dillon, dressed as Santa, with his pants down as elf Lulu adjusted his costume. It was innocent, but Georgie stormed off anyway.

As the children gathered 'round, Alan read the traditional Christmas story. Maxie snuck off to cry and Lucky consoled her. A warm exchange later, Maxie smiled at knowing she'd manipulated the man who she's obsessed with. After the reading, Tracy advised Georgie to give up on Dillon. Edward invited Skye to Christmas dinner but she said only if the invite included Lorenzo. Lulu teared up when Bobbie gave her the present Luke left behind for her — the engagement ring that he'd given Laura last month. Alexis and Sam were thrilled when Kristina spoke the words, "Merry Christmas, Mommy!"

Meanwhile, at the Christmas pageant, as Emily and a nervous Nikolas arrived with Spencer, Helena lurked in the background, as did a disguised Colleen. Mike showed up, camera in hand, to take pictures of his three grandsons. Father Coates mentioned to Emily that he wanted to introduce her to the new parish priest, Father Ruiz (the dead ringer for psycho Manny!). As the pageant began, Colleen, Helena and Father Ruiz all kept a watchful eye on the manger. Carly teared up when Michael spoke his lines, and Sonny appeared to hand her a handkerchief. Carly took it and hugged Sonny. The boys were thrilled to see their dad in the audience. The pageant was a hodgepodge of sweetness and light, and Morgan stole the show with his goofy antics as the Little Drummer Boy. The snow began to fall after the pageant concluded. Nikolas was relieved it was over. As Mike showed Nik his photos of the baby, a shadow fell over the manger.

On the docks, Liz was thrilled to find the toy she'd been seeking for Cam, courtesy of Jason. Liz was touched beyond words. During a montage set to "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," Patrick and Robin headed to the supply closet as Epiphany smiled and shook her head. Edward went to ask the Qs about Alcazar but he just smiled and escorted Skye and Lila Rae home. Lulu tried on her mother's ring (Now available at Sears. Check abc.com for details!). Jason and Liz hugged. Michael told Sonny the camel missed its cue. Sonny was shocked to see Father Ruiz. Nikolas was horrified to find the manger empty and Spencer nowhere to be found.

At Kelly's Maxie clearly planned her fall down the steps, leaving Lucky guilt-ridden. He carried her out of the diner.

At the penthouse, Jason was stunned when Sam said she knew someone who could use Spinelli's marijuana ‹ Alexis. At the lake house, Alexis tried to console Kristina, who realized her mother was in pain. Sam brought Spinelli over and unveiled their medicinal marijuana. Alexis was amused but said, "Absolutely not!" However, as the pain continued, Alexis changed her mind and decided to give it a try. Afterward, Alexis insisted she wasn't high but craved potato chips, asked if she could wear Spinelli's cap and insisted that he call her "Goddess mother."

At Carly's, Jax got a desperate call from Jerry and heard gunfire in the background before getting cut off. "You're going after him, aren't you?" Carly questioned. Jax said he'd send help but he planned to remain in Port Charles and get married. Michael pointed out to his mother that if Morgan was in trouble, he'd go save him. Carly frowned. Later, she dressed the boys in their costumes, as Jane arrived and praised her future step-grandkids' garb. Emily arrived to take the kids to the pageant. Once alone, Carly asked Jane if she thought Jerry was in real danger. Jax entered and declared "Jerry's on his own." Jane voiced her support to go through with the wedding, but Carly told Jax he needed to help his brother. She made him promise to be careful and they shared a tearful hug. "I can't wait to marry you," he assured. After their poignant good-bye, Sonny called and caught her crying. She hung up on him.

At the hospital, Ric told Elizabeth they were investigating to see if Lucky was framed regarding the pills found in his desk drawer. Liz said she had no fears about raising her kids as a single parent. Just then, Maxie was brought into the hospital and taken in for an examination. Lucky assured Liz that he wasn't on drugs at the time of her fall. Alone, Maxie pulled a pillow out of her sweater as she awaited an ultrasound. Later, the doctor returned and told Maxie their was no heartbeat. She turned on the waterworks. At the nurse's station, the doctor broke the news to Lucky that Maxie "miscarried." Lucky went to see her as Lulu lamented to Liz that she felt guilty about not believing Maxie was preggers. In her room, Maxie and Lucky had a heart-to-heart. He admitted that he did want the baby but he failed her and blamed himself for their loss. Lucky hugged her and vowed to make everything okay.

Nikolas lamented about Laura's condition to Emily but acknowledged that having her back briefly was a gift. Emily cheered up a sulking Nik, Meanwhile, in Denver, Colleen boarded a plane bound for Port Charles.

As Ric went to Kelly's and planted seed of doubt in Mike's mind that Lucky could be using again, Cruz showed up at the penthouse to ask Jason if he planted the pills in Lucky's desk. Jason assured the detective that he'd never hurt Elizabeth and wondered if Ric was the culprit. Cruz left and Liz went to see Jason. There, Jason tried to convince Liz that Ric set Lucky up.

At church, Ric went to confession again. Today, we got a look at the tattooed priest‹ who's a dead ringer for Manny Ruiz!

At Kelly's, Lucky confided in Lulu about someone planting the pills in his desk and he asked his sis to speak to Elizabeth on his behalf. Lulu believed Lucky's story and went to Liz, who didn't want to hear it. Lulu said she understood Liz's feelings, but she needs to believe in Lucky in order to make things work. Then, Lucky showed up and Liz scolded him for putting his sister in the middle of their problems. Lucky said he knows who framed him. He blamed it on Maxie, but Liz didn't care.

Carly and Jax shared a happy breakfast together. Afterward, as Carly was reviewing the seating chart for the wedding, Bobbie arrived with the gown. Carly was nervous about Jax seeing her dress and booted him out. Carly tried on the gown and Bobbie noted it was her most beautiful wedding dress yet (!). The girls got weepy about men and love and shared a great mother/daughter moment. Just then, Jax returned for his cell phone and caught Carly in the gown. "You ruined everything, Jax!" she bellowed. A hysterical, superstitious Carly told Bobbie to return the dress and kicked Jax out. Jax's cell phone rang outside, but there was no one on the other end. Later, Michael tried on his tux and said Jax must really love her if he's willing to wear one of those. Michael was happy his mom was happy. Jax returned, Carly apologized for the "minor meltdown" and the phone rang again. It was a collect call from Jerry.

In court, Sam faced the judge as Ric and Alexis readied to square off. A new judge replaced Judge Bryant, who was ill. The attorneys began their arguments but their personal bickering got in the way. A weak Alexis declared, "This has got to stop now." Alexis insisted she was just dehydrated but Sam asked for another attorney. Alexis realized Sam was right and asked to be released from the case. Ric shocked the court by announcing the state was prepared to drop all charges against Sam. He stated that there was no way to prove Sam didn't shoot Diego in self defense so the state decided rather than spend the time and money, they would not pursue the case. The judge agreed and Sam was a free woman. Sam took Alexis home, where she thanked her mother for defending her. Alexis confided that she didn't want her to go to prison but she can't forgive her for sleeping with Ric. Sam headed out but pointed out that Alexis will need help going through chemo. Alone, Alexis found the pain from the chemo to be unbearable.

At the hospital, Liz confided in Patrick about her dilemma with Lucky. Robin was happy to hear Patrick's patient canceled their appointment because she wanted a house call. Robin took Patrick to a great apartment in town which she fell in love with. Patrick was resistant and wondered if Robin planned on moving in. She assured him she had no such aspirations but it was time for him to lay down some roots. The building manager arrived, but once he learned Patrick's identity, he changed his story and said the apartment wasn't available. Robin demanded an explanation. She called him on the fact that he was prejudiced because Patrick was exposed to HIV. He copped to the charge. Patrick threatened a lawsuit and the manager caved. Robin was thrilled and suggested "christening" the apartment.

At Kelly's, Maxie went looking for Lucky. She had a chat with Mike about his gambling and how addiction can ruin lives. She remained convinced that Liz has given up on Lucky. Lucky showed up in a rage and accused Maxie of setting him up. They argued as he headed up the stairs, and Maxie ended up taking a spill.

At the penthouse, Spinelli phoned Bernie and said he was able to hack into Jason's computer accounts. Bernie was not happy and hung up on the kid. Lulu showed up to continue their investigation into Rick Webber's death. Jason came home and was furious to learn that Spinelli was monkeying around with his computer files and had placed a dating profile for the enforcer online. He ordered the punk to his room. Sam returned home and noticed an odor. Jason found marijuana on Spinelli and confiscated it, but Sam asked if she could have it.

Ric confessed to the tattooed priest that he was the one who set up Lucky.... At the studio, Liz pondered telling Jason and Lucky the truth about the baby.

Carly gave Jax grief because he wanted to leave town to help Jerry out of his latest mishap. She accused Jerry of being manipulative but Jax scoffed at the claim. Jax countered that if Carly really needed to chase after Sonny, than she should go. Michael overheard and was thrilled that his mom was going to bring his dad home for Christmas. Carly explained to her son that while she considered the trip, she decided against it. An irate Michael vowed to skip the pageant and Christmas but Jax talked him into going through with it for Morgan's sake. The family then headed off to the pageant rehearsal.

At the penthouse, Lulu showed up and interrupted Jason and Sam in the throes of passion. He opened the door to find her with a friend who needed a place to stay, Spinelli. Lulu reminded Jason that he owed her for her help on the run. Jason acknowledged their assistance in getting Sam cleared and agreed to let Spinelli stay. Spinelli hugged the mobster. However, Spinelli put up a stink when he learned that the room he'd be staying in was pink. Sam explained that it used to be Brenda's room but was never repainted. Spinelli found that disrespectful to Sam. "That desecrates your hotness," he insisted. Upon their reaction, Spinelli ran back upstairs.

Emily and Spencer met Nikolas at the pageant site. Nik was still reluctant to let his son play Baby Jesus. "What if one of the wise men knocks over a candle or something?" he protested. Emily allayed his fears. Nik admitted that he's scared for his son all the time. Em calmed him down and a hesitant Nik placed Spencer in the manger. During the rehearsal, Jax and Carly kissed and made up and snuck off for some "quality time." Nik was relieved that Spencer made it through the rehearsal unscathed.

In Denver, a wigged and bespectacled Colleen moved into a new apartment, saying that she couldn't wait for her "son" to join her.

At the police station, Elizabeth was furious to find pills in Lucky's desk drawer. She called him an addict but he denied that he was using again. Ric said Lucky would have to be suspended. Lucky demanded a drug test immediately to prove his innocence. Liz barked that she wasn't going to watch him throw his life away and endanger her kids any more and stormed out.

At Wyndemere, Alfred made a shocking discovery and phoned Nikolas, asking him to come home. Nik arrived and found evidence that someone had been held captive in the parapet room. Back in Denver, Colleen told a photo of Spencer that, "Mommy's coming soon."

At the PCPD, Lucky awaited the drug test results as Mac had Maxie come down to the station. Mac asked Maxie if Lucky had asked her to get him the drugs. Maxie told the truth and said no. Mac dismissed her and Lucky claimed he was being set up. Then, the drug test results came back.

Liz returned to the hospital and Ric followed her to see if she was okay. She vowed to go through with the divorce and refused his offer of assistance, stating that she needed to stand on her own. Lucky arrived with the negative drug test results but Liz didn't care. "We're through, Lucky," she insisted. Liz then called security to have Lucky removed from the hospital as Maxie eavesdropped nearby.

Back at Carly's, she was touched to find a Christmas tree, with a beautiful necklace on one of its branches. She and Jax kissed as they pondered their future. He asked to see her in nothing but the necklace. She happily complied and they made love.

Ric went to confession and purged his soul of his wrongdoings, as a tattooed hand revealed itself after dispensing Ric's absolution.

As Dillon and Lulu re-enacted Rick's murder in the attic, Georgie caught them in a clinch once again. Lulu insisted that nothing was going on but Georgie was upset that Dillon allowed himself to get dragged into another of Lulu's schemes. Spinelli entered and said he's got an idea and revealed a tape measure to take measurements. Georgie was furious when Spinelli thought Lulu was Dillon's girlfriend. Lulu dragged Spinelli out so the quarreling couple could have some time alone. Dillon then assured Georgie that she's the love of his life. She thought they were growing apart.

At Kelly's, Maxie told Elizabeth about Lucky's plan to give one of his babies up for adoption. Maxie was shocked when Liz stated that she wasn't in favor of the idea, either. Liz left for the hospital and Mike offered Lucky some parenting advice. Then, Maxie returned and Lucky said, "Convince me you and I can give our baby a good life."

At Carly's house, Jax threatened to cancel the wedding if Carly ran off after Sonny. "Cancel it," she dared. She told Jax that if he's willing to do that, then he never really wanted to marry her in the first place. Jax shot back that Carly's world can't revolve around Sonny. Carly agreed not to go. As they kissed and made up, Jax's phone rang.

As Sam was saddened that Jason was hesitant about having a baby with her, Alexis threatened Ric by exposing his night with Sam in court. Ric offered to drop the charges against Sam in exchange for full custody of Molly. Alexis erupted and as the two argued about a custody battle, the saw Kristina was witnessing their fight. After Ric left, Alexis called Sam and asked her to visit her sib. Sam arrived and offered her troubled little sister comfort.

Lulu brought Spinelli to the Q mansion. Tracy kvetched that Lulu can't bring strays home but Monica reminded her sister-in-law that the mansion belongs to her. When the Q's learned that Spinelli saved Jason on the road, they were willing to let him stay. Spinelli became enamored of Alice and was star-struck when he realized she was the Dominator. Tracy wanted to know how Lulu knew of Jason's antics if she were on a ski trip, and Alice made Spinelli a sandwich, Just then, Dillon came in and demanded to know what Spinelli was doing there. Dillon agreed that keeping Spinelli in the mansion was not a good idea and Monica overheard the kids discussing Rick Webber's murder. Monica abruptly changed her mind about Spinelli and booted him out of the house, raising Dillon and Tracy's suspicions.

Jason went to the hospital and asked Liz if she would have wanted him to be the father of her baby. Liz once again neglected the opportunity to tell him the truth but said he'd be a great dad. Sam came home to Jason and said that after dealing with Kristina, she sees Jason's earlier point about how some people should strongly consider whether they should have children or not. However, she did say that she believed they'd both be good parents. Sam agreed to wait until Jason was ready before they get pregnant.

Carly caught Jax talking with a woman, and broke the news that she was an investigator he hired to help Jerry, who's in trouble once again.... Georgie showed up late to work at Kelly's, where she ran into Maxie. Max told her sister that she was ready to give up on Lucky but now, she thinks she has a shot.... At the PCPD, Ric tried to prevent Liz from seeing pills in Lucky's desk drawer. Just then, Lucky showed up and looked stunned.
