GH Recaps Week of January 8, 2007

Friday, January 12, 2007
At the hospital, Elizabeth told Lucky that they were over. Sadly, Lucky said that he would follow her lead and start moving on. Maxie watched, smiling, much to Elizabeth's dismay. Epiphany convinced Elizabeth to find out if Maxie was ever really carrying Lucky's child. Elizabeth got her hands on Maxie's file and noticed the blood type on Maxie's positive pregnancy test differed from her actual blood type. Bingo! The little brat had faked the whole thing.

Sonny challenged Ric to use his tape of Carly's attempted extortion against her. Particularly, since it noted that Ric and Alcazar conspired to frame Sam and that Alcazar was blackmailing Ric. "If you think you can handle the heat, file all the charges you want," taunted Sonny. Ric relented, since Carly's testimony was enough to send Sonny to prison for a long time. Later, Lucky and Ruiz hauled in Joanne Adams to meet Ric. After getting Ric to grant her total immunity, she admitted that Alcazar paid her to plant a gun at Sonny's coffeehouse; then create a diversion so he could retrieve it before entering Sonny's office.

At the coffeehouse, Carly insisted that she wasn't marrying Sonny to both Jason and Sonny. She was truly, madly in love with Jax. Even Sonny's admission that he loved her wouldn't sway Carly. Diane arrived with bad news and went to talk to Sonny, alone. Ric planned to bring up Sonny's previous attempt to murder Alcazar, setting up premeditation. Soon, Diane got a call with good news. The police had a witness who would testify that Alcazar went to the coffeehouse to shoot Sonny. Diane was sure she'd be able to get the charges against Sonny dropped. Hence, Sonny didn't have to worry about Carly testifying against him and they wouldn't have to remarry. Just then Carly came into Sonny's office saying she would marry him.

Nikolas and Emily busted into Colleen's latest hideaway to find her gone. They prepared to race off after her when a cop stopped them. After Nikolas and Emily explained that Colleen kidnapped Spencer, the cop had a police helicopter tail her getaway car. Nikolas and Emily listened on the radio as the helicopter pilot reported that Colleen lost control of her car and crashed through the guard rail into the river. At the crash site, Nikolas sobbed, as he feared his son had plummeted into the river. Little did he know Helena had the tyke in her arms on an airplane and was planning to take him away and rear him as the prince he was meant to be.

If I can't get the information I want out of Mr. Alcazar, we'll have to pull the plug...on the project, not the patient," Mr. Craig told a nervous Skye. Skye tried to bluff Mr. Craig when he wanted to know when to expect the shipment, saying she needed to confirm his identity first. Mr. Craig left, and Skye begged Alcazar to wake up and give her a clue about the shipment and transaction. Then, she went home to find his PDA, certain there was information in it. Later, Skye returned and told Alcazar that someone had ransacked their house. If Alcazar didn't wake up and give her the answers she needed, she'd have to take Lila Rae and leave the country.

Tracy was on the phone trying to dig up dirt on Sam, so she could get her fired from ELQ. Sam and Edward emerged; then, left on business. When Dillon came downstairs, Tracy warned that Sam was after his inheritance and she needed his help. Tracy explained how Edward had hired Sam as his executive assistant, all as a means of driving her to carry Jason's baby, the potential heir to the Quartermaine fortune. Dillon refused to ruin Sam's life or anyone else's for money. When Edward and Sam returned, Edward accused Tracy of nearly costing the family one million dollars. The deadline to file a continuance of the Enduro lawsuit had to happen by midnight. Luckily, Sam caught it. Tracy seethed as Edward praised his protégé.

Meanwhile, Dillon headed to the attic to join Lulu, who was looking for more evidence about Ric's murder. Lulu was frustrated that she lost Ric's datebook. This was the only thing her mother had ever asked her to do and she was blowing it. Dillon convinced Lulu not to give up, and they searched the attic for more clues.

What was the name of the cop who helped Nikolas and Emily?

Ric interrupted Skye as she was begging Alcazar to live. Mr. Craig overheard her tell Ric that Alcazar will survive. Ric vowed to not only find whoever injected Alcazar but also to protect Skye — in exchange for access to Alcazar's safe. Meanwhile, Diane urged Sonny to convince Carly to marry him by next Tuesday. Max arrived with frozen pizzas and potato chips for Carly and the kids. When Sonny told Max that Carly will be sleeping with him, Max questioned planning the wedding already. Max accepted another posting rather than watch Sonny "disrespecting" Mrs. C. Sonny was flustered. Carly went to the penthouse and found Spinelli, who revealed Ric was working with Alcazar. Carly realized that Alcazar must have evidence for blackmail purposes, so Ric wanted Alcazar dead. She rushed to GH, where she collided with Mr. Craig, who was on the phone, making plans. Carly offered to help Skye and Alcazar. Meanwhile, Ric went to confession and recapped to Father Ruiz about Sonny's shooting, his role in faking evidence — even his troubled childhood. Father Ruiz urged Ric to reconcile with his brother. Elsewhere, Sonny asked Jason to convince Carly to marry him, even as Carly asked Skye if Alcazar was blackmailing Ric. Skye admitted Alcazar had "something" on Ric. Spinelli interrupted Sonny and Jason to complain about Sonny's matrimonial plans and showed off his video surveillance skills. Jason realized that Spinelli set Carly on Ric's trail. At that moment, she burst into Ric's office with an offer: drop the charges or spend his life in prison. Mr. Craig inquired about Alcazar, and Skye told him he has to deal with her now.

Emily found Nik rifling through Colleen's place. Emily wanted to involve the media, but Nik feared a reward would cloud the issue. Emily suggested Colleen actually wants to hurt Nik. There was a knock at the door: Mr. Convenient was looking for "Sarah," and he fingered Colleen as Sarah. He suggested she might be in the mountain town of Rocky Gap. Then Mr. Convenient climbed into a car — with a chortling Helena!

Edward met with Sam, who showed off her knowledge of ELQ and revealed she brought along Jason to hear the pressure Edward is putting on her to produce an heir. Edward admitted he likes Sam and wants her to have his great-grandkid so he can spoil it. Sam accepted the job as Tracy spied. Later, Sam started work for Edward, but Tracy demanded that Jason's "barely-literate bed-warmer" not work for ELQ. Edward stood behind Sam, so Tracy made a phone call to dig up dirt on Sam.

Carly laid out her scheme to Ric, and Jason and Sonny arrived just in time to hear Ric accuse her of extortion — and he has a tape-recording of her ultimatum to prove it!

Jason was understanding when Sam told him she quit her job at the hospital, but he was shocked when she suggested working at ELQ. He was worried but assured her she could work for whomever she wanted to. Meanwhile, at the Quartermaine mansion, Lulu and Dillon plotted together to enable Lulu to search for info regarding Rick Webber's death. Dillon called a family meeting for the Qs (while Lulu snuck upstairs) and explained to his family that his "conscience finally set in" and every victim of the condom fiasco should be compensated. Needless to say, Tracy, Edward, etc., weren't pleased. Sam arrived to break up the little family meeting looking for a job at ELQ. Tracy was not amused and even crumpled Sam's resume, but Edward assured her that since she was involved with Jason, there would always be a place at ELQ for Sam. Tracy listened in as Edward told Sam if she and Jason were to have a child, that kid would be the Quartermaine heir. Later, at Kelly's, Lulu was moved that Dillon put his career in jeopardy in order to help her. Unfortunately, Lulu didn't find Rick's datebook in the mansion.

At the father of her child's bedside, Skye pleaded with Alcazar not to leave her. When Elizabeth came in to check on the patient, she noticed an abnormality with his IV and ran to get a doctor. It was deducted that someone was still trying to kill Alcazar, and Lucky immediately assumed Jason. Elizabeth provided an alibi, so then the group wondered if Father Ruiz could have anything to do with it. Later, Skye went to see Jason and inquired if he had anything to do with Alcazar's heart attack. Jason assured her he did not, so Skye wanted his help to figure out who did. Jason simply advised Skye to cut Alcazar loose for her safety. Back at the hospital, Liz grew even more suspicious when Maxie took a staged fall in front of Lucky, then insisted her doctor not be called. She was beginning to be convinced Maxie faked her pregnancy.

Elsewhere in PC, Patrick was worried about Alcazar's prognosis, but Robin tried to get him to have more patience. Later, the couple discussed how they should deal with their professional lives now that they were getting so close personally. And while Maxie was suspicious about Georgie's relationship with Pete, Georgie tried to get it through Maxie's thick head that Lucky loved Elizabeth — not Maxie.

Over in dysfunctional Corinthosland, Carly wasn't thrilled when Sonny paid her a visit. Michael and Morgan spied on their parents discussing the possibility of a re-marriage. Though Carly was adamantly against it, the kids plotted to move back to Sonny's — without Sonny or Carly's knowledge. After his conversation with Carly, which got him nowhere, Sonny went to ask Jason for help. He even admitted he wanted to marry Carly for real. "I'm not going to hurt her this time," Sonny promised. Meanwhile, ready for Alexis to "repay her kindness," Carly went to see Ms. Davis. She needed legal advice on how she could protect Sonny without marrying him. Unfortunately, they were interrupted when Sonny called to tell Carly the kids overheard them and had moved back home. Carly flipped and rushed to Sonny's. There, she found out she was being subpoenaed to testify against Sonny in court on Tuesday. "How does Monday look for our fourth wedding?" Sonny smiled.

Nikolas and Emily raced to find Colleen before she could flee with Spencer. Nik was strapped, which worried Emily. They couldn't find the address she listed, but realized it was a clever ruse. Locating the correct address, Nik kicked in the door and found the place empty — except for an 8x10 color glossy of Spencer on the floor.

Skye wondered if she was right to let Patrick operate on Alcazar, but he reassured her. Alan and Patrick bickered in the operating theater. As Skye observed, Mr. Craig observed her. Alcazar survived the surgery, but it was too soon to know if he suffered brain damage.

Elizabeth tried to calm Sam, who warned her away from Jason. Epiphany observed as Sam accused Liz of wanting to bail on Lucky and get with Jason. The evil Ms. Sneed appeared and threatened to put Liz on report, but Epiphany backed her off. Carly vowed to elope with Jax instead of marrying Sonny. Jason suggested marrying Sonny just until the shooting is resolved, but she balked at that, too. Then Epiphany scolded Sam for being ungrateful to the people who helped her escape the hospital when Jason requested it. Disgusted, Sam quit and returned home, where she broke a wine glass. Back at GH, Carly wanted to convince Skye that the shooting was an accident, but Skye blamed her and Sonny for Alcazar's condition. Patrick and Robin threw Carly out as Skye vowed Sonny will pay. Jason saw Father Ruiz being charitable. Epiphany warned Jason to put a leash on Sam. Jason ran into Liz just as Carly stormed past and repeated she's not marrying Sonny. Later, Bobbie approached Liz about Ms. Sneed's complaint. Bobbie said Sam & Jason and Liz & Lucky will work things out. At home, Sam apologized to Jason, who told her about Alcazar's shooting. Sam admitted she wasn't sure she can get past his sleeping with Liz. Jason promised he won't sleep with Liz again, and he loves only Sam. Carly returned home and told Lady Jane she has to marry Jax immediately. Max appeared at the door, so Carly asked him, "Will you marry me, please?" A flustered Max turned her down (and immediately regretted it). She dispatched Jane to summon Jax and gave Max a note for Sonny: "NO!" When the phone rang, Carly ordered Michael and Morgan not to answer it. "I'm not giving in," she vowed.

Dillon and Lulu wondered how the police could have missed Rick Webber's datebook — was it planted? Spinelli arrived and kowtowed before Big Alice before Lulu fragged him away to trace the phone numbers in the datebook. Tracy spotted Monica eavesdropping on the investigation. Monica suggested Lulu leave Port Charles. Meanwhile, the Jackal realized the numbers matched cell phones before Tracy broke up the party, tossing him and Lulu out. Lulu slipped the diary into her backpack and tried to leave, but Tracy got suspicious. Leaving the backpack in the foyer, Lulu demanded to know how serious Rick Webber was about Monica. Did Alan have reason to be jealous? Tracy dismissed her concerns. Meanwhile, Monica rifled the backpack and discovered the datebook — seconds before Alan discovered her. She told him they have to get the kids off this case. Dillon and Lulu realized the odd behavior of the adults must mean they are getting close. Then Lulu realized the datebook had been stolen. Does that mean the killer is on to them?

Skye told the comatose Alcazar that Sonny will pay. After she went home, a black-clad figure slipped into the room and injected Alcazar with...something. Patrick wanted to celebrate his success with Alcazar, and Robin suggested sofa-shopping. When Alcazar coded, the doctors went to work, administering CPR and defibrillator shocks.

Colleen watched as Nikolas and Emily quizzed Nancy about the daycare center, but neither noticed Spencer sitting just feet away. Suddenly, the fire alarm went off! Colleen fled with Spencer while Nik and Emily helped evacuate the other children. Later, a fireman said someone pulled the alarm manually. Nancy noticed her new assistant — the one with the 10-month-old boy — was missing. Nik showed her Colleen's and Spencer's pictures, and revealed the child had been kidnapped. Nancy was skeptical, so Nik dialed up Port Charles and told Nancy to talk to his brother, the detective. Meanwhile, Colleen returned home and found a surprise waiting.

Ric and Alexis traded threats over a custody battle for Molly until Sam threw him out. Alexis feared that Ric knows about the pot. Later, she frantically tried to get rid of the smell before the kids returned home. Kristina brought cookies for her "hungry" mommy.

Carly distracted Alcazar just long enough for Sonny to shoot him in the head. (Sonny may be a lousy gangster, but he can shoot!) An ambulance was summoned. Sonny stopped Carly from touching the gun, but nobody attempted any first aid. Even though he obviously decided to let Alcazar bleed out, Sonny worried that Ric will "pin" a murder charge on him. At the penthouse, Jason pressed Elizabeth to tell him her secret, but they were interrupted by Lucky. After Liz hid, Lucky quizzed Jason about Alcazar's warehouses. Then Lucky got a call that Sonny had shot Alcazar in the head. Jason demanded that Liz tell him what's up. She covered with a story about maybe taking Lucky back. At GH, Robin cornered Patrick and insisted he go sofa-shopping. Luckily for him, Alan arrived with word that a GSW with head trauma was coming in. Back at Sonnybucks, Carly protested that Sonny fired in self-defense as Cruz retrieved Alcazar's gun. Cruz said he's taking Sonny downtown — and Carly, too. Sam returned to the penthouse and spotted Liz's scarf. She poured some drinks and flashed back to other instances of finding Jason and Liz together. Skye got to the GH ER before Alcazar, and an EMT told her Sonny shot him. Meanwhile, Jason got to the police station just before Sonny was brought in and warned motormouth Carly to clam up, but she blurted out to Ric: "Sonny shot Alcazar in self-defense, and I saw the whole thing." Finally, Sonny's lawyer, Diane, showed up to shut her up. Jason dragged Carly out. Diane demanded that Sonny be freed on the spot, and Ric inexplicably agreed to let the murder suspect walk, even though he's not a judge (a fact even junkie cop Lucky noticed). Ric called Carly his "star witness." Back at the penthouse, Jason realized Alcazar's gun had to have been planted in advance. Carly yammered on about seeing it all until Jason pointed out all she really saw was Sonny plug Alcazar.

Tracy quizzed Lulu about her involvement with Dillon. Tracy said she's acting in loco parentis. Lulu said she's just trying to connect with her mom. Lulu went to Shadybrook to tell Laura about finding Rick Webber's datebook with a "really suspicious" phone number, and how Monica is acting really suspicious.

Liz discussed her indecision with Epiphany, who told her to make a choice and get on with life. Then Liz ran smack into Mateo, who told her she has no reason to fear him. She noted his brother kidnapped her twice. Meanwhile, Patrick told Skye that Alcazar needed immediate surgery, but Alan advised against it, noting that "one false move could kill him." Robin was uncharacteristically upbeat, but the choices were death or disability. A tearful Skye told Alcazar, "I will not let you be less than you were," and consented to immediate surgery. Later, Sam confronted Liz about being in her home, and asked: "What do you want with Jason this time — or do I already know?"

Carly volunteered to lie to support Sonny, but Jason said there's only one way to ensure she cannot be compelled to testify. Sonny and Diane returned to the crime scene, where a cop inexplicably allowed them to shut themselves in Sonny's office. Diane said Carly has no way to resist testifying because "it's not as if the two of you are still husband and wife."
