GH Recaps Week of March 5, 2007

Friday, March 9, 2007
On the plane ride back from the Dominican Republic, a defiant Carly resolved to get a divorce from Sonny, "whether he likes it or not," and asked Jason to help her keep away from Sonny. After lamenting about being cooped up inside and stuck in her wheelchair, Robin got Patrick to promise her a surprise if she behaves and does what the doctors tell her to do. Patrick then surprised her with an outdoor picnic at Robin's favorite place in the park. The two of them happily counted their blessings and reveled in their romance.

Tracy freaked out at the sight of Alan. Luke asked what she was flipping out about, as he saw nobody sitting where she saw Alan. Luke observed Tracy speaking to an empty chair while Alan tried to convince her that he's really dead. Tracy concluded that Luke and Alan are conspiring. Alone, Alan reappeared to Tracy. Alan told Tracy he was haunting her, and admonished her for forging his will. When Alan told Tracy he can't rest in peace until she admits to everyone that she forged his will, Tracy repeated her accusation that Alan is faking his death.

Lulu confronted Scott about Rick Webber, and accused him of lying. As things escalated Scott began to yell back at Lulu. Logan intervened and warned Scott to back off while Lulu left. Lulu returned home and was visited by Dillon. Lulu expressed her dilemma to Dillon: is it better to pursue the truth about Rick Webber's death, or is it better to protect her father from the possible repercussions? Lulu broke down and told Dillon how much she misses her mother. Spinelli burst in and announced he has proof that Scott killed Rick Webber. Lulu thanked Spinelli for his efforts, but said she doesn't want to act on the info after all. Meanwhile, Scott made a beeline to the hospital where he and Luke locked horns over Lulu and Laura. Bobbie intervened and admonished the two of them for hurting everyone around them more than each other, and begged them both to consider Lulu and put her best interests first and ahead of any differences they have.

At the courthouse, Sonny tried to console Alexis before the custody hearing. Ric interrupted and gave Alexis one final chance before it was too late. Ric urged her to negotiate with him outside the courtroom, because once inside he vowed not to be flexible. Alexis refused, so both entered the hearing. The judge admonished Ric and Alexis for representing themselves and not utilizing other attorneys. Alexis called Jax to the stand. Jax gave excellent character testimony to support Alexis. Under cross-examination Ric brought up Nikolas' son to tarnish Nick's rep. Alexis then called Sonny, who also expressed support for Alexis. Under cross-examination Ric brought up Sonny's past custody suit against Alexis, Sonny's past arrest records, and Alexis' felony conviction. Carly burst into the courtroom, apologized for being late, and was instructed by the judge to take the stand as Alexis' next character witness. Carly defended Alexis and Sonny and then referred the judge to Jason, who echoed Carly's comments. The judge then asked Alexis about her conviction for smoking pot. Alexis explained how she used it for medicinal purposes after being treated for cancer. Ric testified that he expects Alexis' next round of chemo will be too debilitating for Alexis to take care of Molly. Inside the courtroom, the judge ruled in Ric's favor, while outside the courtroom Sonny vowed to make Carly change her mind about divorcing him.

At the TV studio, Amelia admired her own watch and told Sam to return for another segment in 15 minutes. Sam apologized for running late when she returned for the next segment of her interview. She wasn't sure what more she could share about the hostage situation. Amelia said she's hoping to delve into Sam's past in the next segment and explore how her past might have influenced her actions during the crisis. Reviewing a tape of the interview, one of Amelia's producers suggested they hold Sam's interview for sweeps. But Amelia suggested she has something even greater in mind.

Tracy and Luke tried to convince Edward that they are now a beloved couple. Edward admonished them to at least show some respect while Alan's will is read. Luke left to alter Alan's will before the reading. Nikolas and Emily wondered how things will go down once Alan's will is read. Emily lamented that this will be the first Quartermaine "free-for-all" without her father. She found it difficult to wrap her brain or heart around the fact that he's gone. At the hospital, Scotty thanked Bobbie for keeping the peace between him and Luke at Alan's memorial service. Bobbie expressed her concern to Scotty about Monica and how she's holding up. Scotty asked Bobbie about Alan's will. Bobbie surmised that Alan probably used his will to tell off a lot of people who crossed him, thereby having the last word.

Logan had coffee with Lulu after he invited himself to sit with her. He asked why she was trying so hard not to like him. The more Logan attempted to charm Lulu, the more confrontational and sarcastic she became. Spinelli busted in and told Logan that he had plans with Lulu, who excused herself. Logan grabbed Spinelli and told him to never threaten him again. Spinelli then had a run-in with Stan, and the two argued over who was in charge of computer operations for Sonny and Jason. Stan reasserted himself as Sonny and Jason's go-to tech guy, and sent Spinelli packing. Lulu met with Sonny for advice about the prospect of Scott Baldwin killing Rick Webber, based on Alan's letter. Sonny advised that it might be best to leave things alone where Scott is concerned. Later, Lulu confronted Scotty and called him a liar.

At the Metro Court rebuilding site, Jax confronted Sonny and told him he's not welcome in his hotel. Sonny said that's fine, but that's not going to keep him from seeing Carly. Jax laid into Sonny for taking advantage of Carly's emotional vulnerabilities just to get back into bed with her. Sonny declared that he and Carly have an unbreakable bond between them. Sonny vowed to do whatever he has to do to make things work with Carly. Carly lamented her personal predicament to Jason as the two were en route to the Dominican Republic for her quickie divorce. Jason told her she was giving him a headache. Carly pressed for his advice. Jason said all that matters is what she wants: Does she want Jax, or does she want Sonny? Carly declared that love is all about control with Sonny, which is why she's on the plane to get a divorce from him. Carly debated her dilemma to a patient, listening Jason, until it was time for Carly to see the judge and get the divorce finalized. Jason told her it's time for her to finally make up her mind. The Dominican Republic divorce official told Carly that he can't grant her a divorce because the laws in the DR have changed — the divorce will only be legal there. If Carly wants to divorce Sonny in New York, she's going to have to get him to sign the papers the old fashioned way.

The TV talk show producer, Amelia, watched tapes of Sam's interview on the news after the hostage crisis and then introduced herself to Sam, who wasn't sure if she would be an articulate guest on the air. Amelia assured her she would be, so long as she just told the truth. During the interview, Sam recounted what happened to her during the hostage crisis. During a commercial break Sam recognized Amelia's watch and had a strange sense of déjà vu.

At the reading of Alan's will, Edward was shocked by Jax's arrival. Jax told him Alan's attorney said he was mentioned in the will. An enraged Luke then asked Scotty why he was in attendance. "Alan" left Luke $250,000 for putting up with Tracy, an inheritance in trust for Michael, and named Jax as his trustee. He left Ned his box seats at Wimbledon, he left Dillon his collection of home movies, he left Skye Lila's ruby earrings, he left Jason his ring, he left Monica all of his personal property, he left Edward his medical school diploma, Emily his stethoscope, and Tracy all of his monetary assets — much to everyone's horror. Edward immediately declared that the will was a farce. Everyone agreed, and suspected that Tracy and Luke were behind this. Alan's attorney insisted the will was genuine and legitimate. Emily told everyone to chill and just accept Alan's wishes, as Tracy and Luke winked at each other. Edward shared his disgust for Tracy. Ned and Dillon each gave Tracy their own two cents before leaving. Luke called Tracy on her guilty looks. Alone in the den, Alan appeared to Tracy: "Shame, shame!" he admonished his sister.

Luke interrupted Lulu's letter reading and warned her about "slimebucket" Scott. At the extremely made-over Metro Court, a cute guy toting a gun (as they all do in PC) walked in while Maxie flirted with Cooper. After Maxie left, New Guy held his gun to Coop's head and criticized the private's reflexes (Wow, the Army recruits 'em young.). Dillon and Lulu then discussed Alan's letter and Scott's guilt. Coop reunited with his old buddy Logan and they talked about the bad ol' days in Iraq and mentioned Logan's dad is from PC. When Lulu suggested they get the Jackal's help, Dillon admitted he's jealous. Logan told Coop he didn't know much about "Mr. X," his mystery dad. (Ten bucks says it's Scotty.) Lulu cracked up at the whole Dillon-Milo-Spinelli drama but wasn't laughing when Dillon revealed he and Georgie split. He called Lu his best friend and hoped it could become something more. As she boggled, Logan hit Coop up for his own job at the hotel. Later, Lulu met Spinelli at Sonny's cappuccino corner and he gushed over her. Then, Lulu's lush love life got even wackier as Logan saved her from wearing her coffee. Cue snark at first sight. Across town, Maxie suggested a way for Coop to pay back her generosity: a date.

At the Qs, Edward and Tracy discussed Alan's will. Tracy wasn't pleased at the thought of "shining light" Emily inheriting Alan's fortune. "There's no way in hell that Alan's leaving me anything," Dillon pointed out. As Tracy ranted to herself, Big Alice walked up and reconfirmed Emily's windfall. At GH, Monica and Bobbie reminisced about Alan. Back at Chez Q, Tracy unloaded on Luke and they pondered forging Alan's will. "Alan's going to very generously leave me sympathy money for being Mr. Tracy Quartermaine," decided Luke. "Feeling his presence is reassuring," Monica sighed of Alan. She introduced Dr. Ford to Edward then Edward told her about Alan's will reading. They, too, surmised Em was in the money. At the house, Luke refused to hand over the will until Tracy answered one vital question: "Who's your daddy?" (LOL!) She told "Daddy" to fork over the paper and then learned that in addition to Emily, "Jason's children, should he have them," stood to inherit. Meanwhile, Edward reminded Monica that she'll now be Chief of Staff but Dr. Ford told her he put himself up for the job, too. As Luke and Tracy hashed out the details of Alan's will version 2.0, Edward wondered, "what underhanded scheme did I walk in on?" "Cuddles" and "Sweet cheeks" quickly covered.

Lucky's amorous greeting at GH surprised Elizabeth (apparently she expected Jason?) while Jason offered to take Carly to the Dominican Republic for her much-demanded divorce. But she didn't seem so keen. Recovering quickly, Elizabeth wanted to tell Cameron that she and Lucky are reunited and poor Lucky beamed with happiness. When Carly spilled her latest I-slept-with-Sonny story, Jason cringed and rolled his eyes. "Do you want to go to the Dominican Republic or not?" he cut in. Carly assured him she did. Of course, on the jet, Carly was all paranoid that Sonny was trying to stop her. "Do you want Sonny to stop you?" Jason asked. Elizabeth brought Cam over to the Spencer house and told him, "Daddy and I are getting married!" (No, she doesn't mean Luke.) Carly ducked Jason's question but Jason wanted an answer ASAP. As Lucky, Liz and Cam explored their soon-to-be new home, the camera cut back and forth to Jason listening to Carly talk about Sonny and Jax "raising Sonny's kids." What if it were Jason? How would he feel?

Carly called Jax, but was interrupted by Sonny's arrival. He wanted to support Michael at Alan's memorial. Michael said Jax told him it's okay to be sad. He feels bad for the Q's, which means he has empathy. As they left, the phone rang — it was Jax.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy and Edward argued over the placement of pictures for Alan's memorial service, but Monica didn't want any pictures displayed anywhere. Tracy got in her face and insisted that, as family, they have a vote. Ned told Dillon that the Quartermaines fight about everything. Edward then insulted "Eddie Maine." Big Alice tried to help, and Tracy blew up. Monica broke a vase. "Arguing is a family tradition!" Tracy screamed. "It's how we communicate!" Elsewhere, Nikolas comforted Emily. Lois and the Cerullos sent flowers that Tracy hid behind a chair. Edward told Tracy to calm down, which only made her angrier. While he admitted anger is a good way to ward off pain, he wanted everyone to be nicer. "You sound like Mother," she said. "That's the nicest thing you ever said to me," he replied, before admitting he's glad Lila is gone, to spare her this pain. But he feels her presence, waiting to show Alan the way home.

Luke arrived home to find Lucky, who noted he and Elizabeth are moving in. Later, Luke asked Lulu to go easy on Tracy. Later, Bobbie and Lesley arrived and talked about throwing Lucky's wedding, and how Laura would also be a part of them. Luke offered to help Nikolas against Helena as payback for his help with Laura. Liz, meanwhile, went to Jason's penthouse to offer him support with Sam out of town. Jason lamented not being there when his father died. She suggested part of Alan will live on in their child. The baby kicked and Jason felt her belly.

As Alan's gathering got under way, Jax chatted with Alexis, who was pondering her own mortality. Sonny, Carly and Michael arrived to express condolences to Monica, followed by Dr. Russell and Epiphany, then Noah. Patrick wheeled Robin up to Tracy and Edward. Tracy freaked out when Alcazar and Skye arrived. Skye insisted Alan had forgiven her. Ned and Dillon defended Skye when Tracy insisted she mourn somewhere else. Eventually, Skye and Alcazar were allowed inside. Monica was in the study when Jason slipped in and embraced her. She lamented trying to employ a doctor's emotional detachment to deal with his death. When Luke arrived Tracy admitted she felt sick and sad and angry but the service isn't about her. Luke said memorials are about the living because the dead are "out of the equation." Edward welcomed Lucky and told Liz she's carrying Lucky's "immortality." Tracy warned Dillon to stop digging into Rick Webber's murder. Just then, Scott arrived. Luke tried to toss him, but Bobbie defended him. As the actual service began, Dillon slipped Lulu the letter, and she learned Alan had fingered Scott. Ned took the podium and led the ceremony. He called Alan a "complicated" man with "many virtues" and "many flaws." He was a doctor, brother, father and grandfather, as well as a husband. And he knew the complexities of love.

Later, Emily sought out Edward, while Tracy thanked Ned for doing a beautiful job. Tracy volunteered that what she misses most about her big brother was that he accepted her without reservation. Monica placed Alan's picture on the mantel and flashed back to happier days (including his proposal and their wedding). She left Jason to reflect on his father alone.

Sonny asked to stay for lunch with Carly and the boys, so they crowded around the living room coffee table and talked about...Jax. Carly ordered the kids out and told him Jax knows they got married and slept together, and "whether or not" things work out with Jax, she's divorcing Sonny. Sonny gloated that Jax broke up with her, so now she doesn't have to divorce him.

Three — make that "Coop" — told Jax and Max he served two years in Iraq as an MP and earned a sharp-shooter medal, so Jax agreed to give him a try. Max felt something familiar about that guy.

Lulu and Dillon were reading the letter about who killed Rick Webber when Scotty suddenly interrupted them. He was curious about the letter, but Dillon covered. Then Scott started ranting about why Luke would marry that "vampire" Tracy. Luke interrupted to defend "my wife." Scotty wanted to "get along," but they bickered over Laura and Lulu. Scotty left. Luke asked about the letter, which Lulu gave to Dillon, who took it outside to read: "The person who killed Rick Webber was Scott Baldwin." Dillon was shocked. Inside, Luke freaked out and blasted Lulu, warning her that Scotty was working her to get to him. Later, he apologized, but she said she's not afraid of Scott. Luke recalled how Scott has grown so bitter over the years (because Luke destroyed his marriage!). Luke admitted he hates that Scott blames him for Laura's condition — and he may be right.

Patrick got the results of his HIV test: He's negative! He was stunned by how lucky they are, crediting her extraordinarily low viral load as the reason Emily, Carly, Nikolas and pregnant Liz don't have to worry about bathing in her blood at Metro Court. Patrick got a call from Dr. Linda Ellsworth for a consult, so he left. Lainey arrived, and Robin instantly reverted to her old jealous self, so naturally she feared that a healthy "free agent" Patrick would revert to his playboy ways. After all, she admitted, "I'm annoying." (Ya think?) Maxie arrived, and Robin asked if she's hiding a boy in her room. Maxie pleaded innocent and Robin started ranting about love as a four-letter word...until Patrick arrived with roses. He explained that Dr. Ellsworth is 64 — too old for Patrick. Upstairs, Coop blasted Maxie for almost blowing his cover with Jax and Max. She gave him some money and sent him to Kelly's for a room with a peck on the cheek.

Liz asked Jason if he's going to tell Lucky he's the baby's father. Jason admitted it will be hard to keep it a secret. Liz said Jason would be a great dad (presumably they could go out and execute people as a father/son team), but she wants to marry Lucky and raise the kid as part of a family. Lucky interrupted for some perfunctory questions, and told Jason he's closing the Metro Court shoot-out as "unsolved." (That's closed?) Then he thanked Jason for saving Liz and "his" baby. Later, Jason asked Stan to bug Alcazar's room. Liz met with Jason to thank him for not telling Lucky. Jason pointed out that if the truth about the baby gets out after she's married "lives will be ripped apart," but he trusts her opinion. She insisted it's best for everyone to keep mum, so Jason agreed. (He's probably setting his watch for the disease the newborn will inevitably contract that will require a blood test....)

At the construction site, Max declined Sonny's offer to return to work. Elsewhere, Carly told Jax she's going to the Dominican Republic for a divorce tonight. Later she learned Jason won't accompany her because Alan's memorial is tomorrow. Sonny needled Jax, who insisted he wouldn't lose Carly over a one-night stand. Sonny was unfazed, sure she would follow her heart back to him.
