GH Recaps Week of April 16, 2007Friday, April 20, 2007 After Sam leaped clear of the falling light at the EVERYDAY HEROES set, Amelia praised her "nerves of steel." Amelia's assistant said the light had been intentionally loosened. After the taping, Amelia hinted about Phoenix, fishing for a reaction. Jason told Elizabeth that only their baby matters, but Liz said Jason matters, too. She admitted his nobility "only makes me love you more." So Jason asked why he can't be a part of their baby's life. Liz said she wanted to take responsibility for her part in all this, but, "danger is how you live," so they couldn't make it work. He told her not top be sorry, and left her sobbing on the couch. When Lucky came home later, Liz told him about running into Jason yet again. "Jason's been good to you," Lucky observed, before suggesting they ask the hit man to be "their" baby's godfather. Carly told Michael and Sonny she's getting hitched next Friday — much to the child's surprise. Carly said she's sending the boys to the cabin for the weekend. Sonny wished Carly "all the happiness in the world," then left. Back at Sonny's cafe, Sonny almost took a drink, then Jason arrived. Jason said he's been thinking about fathers and sons and what makes a family. He believes biology doesn't matter, but now he's realizing what it's like for a father to be shut out of his kid's life. Sonny told him about Carly's latest marriage plan. Meanwhile, Carly told Jax she needs a new dress, flowers and a traditional butter creme cake with strawberry filling. Jax said Sonny should be at the ceremony, for closure. Carly thought it might be cruel to rub his nose in it. Jax left to visit Alexis, so Carly gave him the divorce papers to file. Sonny told Jason he wishes Carly well and has let her go. Then he ordered Jason to retaliate against Alcazar and "kill that piece of trash." Jason asked Spinelli for cyber help planning the attack. Spinelli suggested that Jason talk to Sam about his problem. Later, a beaming Jax met with Alexis, who agreed to be his best person again. Jax said Sonny can "show up if he likes." Meanwhile, Mrs. Wilcox showed up to take Michael to the cabin. After they left, Carly suddenly remembered something! Sonny somberly returned to his office and flipped over a portrait of his family before popping some pills. Suddenly, Carly burst in to say, "I am so sorry," because she forgot. "Happy birthday."
Alcazar met with a thug representing Mr. Ocho. Lorenzo confided that he's faking his brain damage, but the thug was more concerned with sending "the right message" right now. At the EVERYDAY HEROES set, the Ocho thug and a pal arrived to deliver their "message" to their "business associate," Jason. They drew guns on Sam and Amelia just as Jason walked in. The thugs got the drop on Jason, but he picked up Sam and ran just as the interlopers started
shooting.
Thursday, April 19, 2007 At the Quartermaine manse, Tracy informed Luke that she's scamming Scott to protect Laura. Luke wondered if she's scamming him? Big Alice brought in Mayor Floyd, and Tracy demanded he fire Scott from his special prosecutor gig. Floyd refused, expressing confidence that Scott can clean up Port Charles. He then called Luke a "leech" and an "embarrassment," then left. Luke warned Tracy: "If I lose Laura, this marriage is over." Later, Luke apologized for doubting her. She told him she loves him, but she's not going to tolerate his tantrums forever. Laura is a moot point because she's not coming back, "to you or anybody else." So accept it. Luke looked devastated. At the studio, Jason asked Amelia about the pictures she was looking at. She covered until Sam arrived to show him around. Everything looks bigger on TV, the buxom bombshell assured him. Then a reporter appeared and started pestering Jason. Amelia threw him out and berated her assistant in front of everyone. When Jason left, Amelia needled Sam about Jason's reaction to the reporter. Sam noted that her "dreams are not what they used to be," and recounted her years of baby drama and Jason-can-never-be-a-daddy, etc. Amelia told her not to fret over the past. Then she examined yet another "Angela Monroe" photo, and detailed how Angela shot Bill Monroe in the chest with a double-barreled shotgun. Lulu found Spinelli working on something suspicious at Kelly's. He was looking up patient records related to "Stone Cold's son or daughter." Lulu told him to cool it and clasped his hand, making his day. Jax pointed out that Sonny has signed the divorce papers, but Carly hadn't. She confessed, "It kills me" to see Sonny's name on the papers because family means so much to him. But she loves Jax, even though "it hurts." Jax asked if she really wants to marry him. She smiled and signed the papers. Then they went upstairs to celebrate. Later, she learned her divorce can be final next Thursday, and Jax suggested a Friday wedding. They agreed on Rice Manor, "that old mansion by the lake." Elizabeth brought Cameron's Chuggin' Charlie riding toy (which, with its black eyes, looked like a dead Thomas the Tank Engine) to the pier, where they ran into Jason, who offered them a ride home. There, Liz invited him to stay, eat cookies and play. Jason bonded with Cam. Later, Liz apologized for dragging him into her domestic scene, admitting, "This is your child," and wondered how she could give all this to Lucky "when it belongs to you." Craig was preparing to toss Patrick over the cliff when Robin arrived, screaming, "No!" As Sam started taping, Amelia recounted Sam's adventures as Angela Monroe. "Bill Monroe was my father," she confessed. Suddenly, a light broke loose over Sam's head. Amelia cried, "Sam, look out!"
Wednesday, April 18, 2007 At Wyndemere, Luke told Nikolas about Scott's bid to "steal Laura away." Nik thought his mother was right to name him her guardian because she didn't want to be a burden on Luke. Luke warned Nik not to get between him and Laura. At the Quartermaine mansion, Scott warned Tracy she cannot compete with Laura and enlisted her help running interference with Luke. Nik pointed out that Luke isn't married to Laura, so keeping custody himself is the only defense against Scott. After Luke stormed out Mr. Craig offered to shoot Luke "in his big mouth," but Nik declined. Craig warned him to sign away Laura to keep Luke from coming back. Nik refused. When Robin got home, Craig told her about Scott — just in time for Patrick to overhear the details of Craig's scam. Lulu visited Logan in the hospital to thank him for helping Sonny and Jason. Logan assured her he just wanted to gain Sonny's favor, and asked her to help him with rehab. Coop arrived, so Lulu fled. Sonny told Carly he doesn't want to be free of her. She recited her patented "We're Bad for Each Other" speech. Sonny recited his patented "Things Are Different This Time," speech, but still signed the papers. Later, Michael encouraged Carly to tear up the papers. Lulu arrived seeking advice, but Carly asked her why she can't sign the papers. Alexis visited Sonny at his office to beg him to sign the papers, but of course he already did. Carly asked Lulu, "How do I walk away from the man I love?" She admitted that without Sonny she'd run to Jax, and without Jax she'd stick with Sonny. Lulu suggested giving herself a good talking to: "Trust your heart, and follow it," she said. Mayor Floyd railed at Ric for bringing Molly to work — oh, and not arresting Alcazar. Later, Ric asked Mac about Coop and Logan. Mac said Coop applied to the police academy with the highest test scores on record. Back at Logan's hospital room, Maxie eavesdropped as Coop wondered if violence was all they had to look forward to in life. Logan asked if he was worried that they may end up on opposite sides of the war. Maxie arrived and Coop told her Logan was once on track for medical school. Coop got summoned to the DA's office, where Ric told him he's fast-tracking Coop. Sonny told Diane he signed the divorce papers. She wondered why he wanted to up his payments to Carly. Sonny told her to pay all of Logan's medical bills, then Sonny visited him. When Logan asked for a job Sonny suggested Metro Court. Logan had other ideas, but Sonny wasn't interested. At the Quartermaine mansion, Scott warned Luke he will be called as a witness. Tracy told Luke to convince Nik to hand over Laura and avoid airing dirty laundry in court, but Luke wouldn't hear of it. Carly flashed back to conversations with Sonny about love, then tossed away her pen — just as Jax arrived.
Tuesday, April 17, 2007 At Wyndemere, Alexis told Nik that "James Brosnan" didn't exactly save her life, but she did thank him for entertaining Kristina. Nik was amused by their flirting. Scotty arrived to announce his bid for custody of Laura on grounds that Nik is not taking care of his mother. For example, he didn't stop Luke from using the experimental drug on her. Scott demanded Nik sign over custody or else, then left. Alexis offered to meet Scott in court and run interference with Luke. After she left, Nikolas blasted Craig for going to Alexis' house, then suggested that Craig take $60 million and leave for good. Craig refused. Luke arrived to discuss Laura. Tracy and Alan discussed Laura and Luke — and how Tracy will never leave him. She balked at comparing Monica to Luke. Luke revealed that Laura named Nik as her guardian when she checked herself back into Shadybrook. Tracy said, "I know." Luke was hurt by Laura's choice, but Tracy assured him Laura only wanted to leave Luke with happy memories, not images of herself as a patient. Tracy admitted she'd do the same. Later, at Shadybrook, Tracy found Scott mooning over Laura. She declared herself "Mrs. Luke Spencer," and if Luke doesn't want him near Laura, she doesn't want him near Laura. Jason realized that Carly had come to tell him she's marrying Jax. The boys were on board, but Michael took it hard. She begged Jason to talk Sonny into signing the divorce papers. Later, Carly scolded Sam on the EVERYDAY PEOPLE set for making the paparazzi go after her kids, sparking claims that Sonny bought his mistress a career. Carly gave Sam an ultimatum: the job, or Jason. Meanwhile, Stan told Sonny to ignore Sam's bids for publicity. When Jason arrived, Sonny knew he came on Carly's behalf. Jason felt guilty for talking Carly into marrying Sonny. Sonny admitted he had been ready to let Carly go, but the hostage crisis happened and Carly admitted she still loves him. He thinks Carly thinks Jax is safe. Jason said Sonny owes it to Carly to accept her choice. Meanwhile, Sam flashed back to being roughed up by a man who called her a "filthy slut." At the EVERYDAY HEROES set, Amelia finally got the scoop on Sam: She was running a con, marrying wealthy men to steal their money then moving to another state with a new identity. She's had five husbands in five states. Four went well, but the last one, Phil Monroe, caught on and confronted her, so she killed him! Jason found a nervous Spinelli at the penthouse, and forgave him for denting his bike. "Stone Cold, you would have made a really great father," he said. Jason looked stricken. Sonny went to Carly's place and asked for the divorce papers. She said it's for the best. "Keep telling yourself that," he replied. He's doing it because she asked. He can't force her to love him. "I do love you," she said. "Then why am I signing these papers?" he countered.
Monday, April 16, 2007 Elizabeth and Lucky balked at letting Spinelli record the birth of their baby, so Lulu pretended she set it up. Meanwhile, Jason told Carly and Jax that Sonny is being kept overnight for observation as a precaution. Jax encouraged her to visit Sonny. Amelia encouraged Sam to go on with her photo shoot, and Jason agreed. Sam went. Lulu told Spinelli to forget about Jason being the father; she will feed Jason baby news. Then she ran into Jason and reassured him that Liz is fine. Liz and Lucky told Jason it's all good. Alcazar's thug blamed Coop and Logan's interference for tipping the odds in Jason and Sonny's favor. Alcazar fumed that he'll frame another rival, and keep playing disabled. Alcazar said Skye is helping to maintain the charade, then shot his man in the back. Ric said Skye and Lila are in danger, and suggested she tell Sonny that Alcazar is faking. Skye realized that if Jason kills Alcazar the evidence against Ric disappears and Sonny and Jason go to prison. Carly appeared and told Ric to arrest "this witch" for trying to murder Sonny. Carly promised to make Skye pay. Ric told Jason the dead soldiers were traced to Alcazar's territory in Venezuela. Scott arrived and told Ric he's been hired as special prosecutor. Skye told Alcazar about Carly's threats, and feared Jason would strike back at her. Carly went to the unconscious Sonny's room and told him, "You have to be okay." He stirred. "Don't leave me," he croaked. He inquired about Jason and the boys, then apologized for scaring her. She pecked him on the forehead, then told him Jax proposed, "and I said yes." Sonny said he has five months to change her mind. She asked him not to try to make her stick around. After she left, Jason found Sonny alone, mooning over what Carly said. Jason apparently whipped out a greeting card and told Sonny if he loves her, let her go. At the Metro Court photo shoot, Amelia told Sam to use the paparazzi and capitalize on the gunplay for her own publicity. Sam told the reporters that what happened at The Cellar makes one think of being a victim, and her show will teach others how to deal. Skye asked Alcazar if he will "get well" soon. He said he can't yet. He's still assessing who's useful. Skye called Ric and told him she'll "do whatever is necessary to take Lorenzo down."
