Carly predicted that Jax was planning to keep her busy with the new hotel so he could go globetrotting after Jerry again. However, they agreed to kiss and make up. Once at home, Carly began to plan their next trip back to Montreal with the boys. As they kissed, Jax's phone rang and his expression grew cold. "Jerry?" he answered. After a brief conversation, Jax said he was on his way. Carly was sad and angry. "You have a family now, Jax! ... Stay!" Carly refused to take his hug, but he promised he wouldn't be gone for long. Jax sat down and explained the situation to the boys. They understood and said their good-byes. Carly wasn't as forgiving. Jax kissed her on the forehead and left. Afterward, Carly decided that Jax was the one needing rescuing and went decided to go after her hubby.

Sam, who was at the PCPD, stopped short of telling Lucky the truth about Jake's paternity. He realized she was drunk and dismissed her. A lead came in on Jake and Lucky was off. Sam asked to see Jason, who was also able to determine that Sam was inebriated. Sam was desperate for Jason to open up to her and admit the truth about the baby's paternity. Jason didn't crack. “I still love you,” she told him before leaving.

At the TV studio, Amelia informed her stagehand that Sam was "on a bender" and wouldn't be back today. Ric showed up and asked about Sam's whereabouts the day of the kidnapping. The duo bickered, but Amelia covered for Sam and said she that was at the studio at the time. Ric then asked why Amelia was lying for a woman she clearly doesn't like. Later, Sam returned to the TV studio with coffee and offered to rehearse for the next day's show. Amelia informed Sam that she lied on her behalf to Ric. Sam was relieved. The stage hand noted to Amelia, "She's a pro, even if she is a drunk."

Kate hung out the coffeehouse and tried to come up with another woman for the tabloids to link to Sonny instead of to her; Sonny pulled out all the stops with his flirting. Kate said she wasn't buying but, of course, they bantered back and forth. Sonny promised her secret life as Connie from Bensonhurst was safe with him. Diane interrupted their conversation and Kate left. After some legal shop talk, Sonny asked Diane if she was jealous of Kate, throwing the usually cool and collected attorney off guard. Then, they were interrupted by Amelia. Diane left and Amelia sat on Sonny's lap and kissed him. As Sonny and Amelia made love, Kate returned and caught them, and looked longingly at the flame of Sonny's lighter.

At the Spencer house, Lulu tried to defend Lucky to Elizabeth. Then, Liz left to go visit Jason while Lulu called Spinelli and they commiserated. Lulu questioned the effect of karma, then thanked Spinelli for being a good listener and such a good friend.

Down at the station, Liz arrived to see Jason. He tried to be encouraging for the distraught mother. She thanked him for thinking clearly. Jason asked her to stay strong — for his sake and for Jake's. Lucky entered and asked for a moment with his wife. He told her there was a potential sighting at a day care center. Lucky then took a call and a baby matching Jake's description had been found. Shortly after, the child was brought into the station but when Liz saw him, she broke down in tears — the baby in question wasn't Jake.

Jax quizzed a bartender at a seedy watering hole about Jerry. The bartender pulled a gun on him.... A file of guests on EVERYDAY HEROES caught Sam's attention.... Lucky asked Liz if she thought Jason could find their son while he can't.... Jason ordered Spinelli to break him out of jail.

When Lulu told Spinelli that he had a lot in common with Jason, what was his reply?

Carly was uneasy aboard Jax's private plane, since he refused to inform her of their destination. Mid-flight, Carly was relieved to hear they were going to "their" city, Montreal. He then gave her the deed to a property in the city to renovate. Carly accused him of wanting to keep her busy so he could go after Jerry.

At the Spencer house, Elizabeth refused to be questioned again in Jake's disappearance. Lulu stood up for Liz to Lucky, then stormed out. Lucky told Liz he didn't want to suspect her and apologized. He hugged his tearful wife, saying, "I'm so sorry."

"Go with the nice men, Tracy," advised Edward of the men from Shadybrook. Even Alan's ghost advised her to not put up a fight. All of the Quartermaines agreed that Tracy needed "a rest." After erupting at Alan's chair, Tracy was put into the strait-jacket. Later, Dillon came home and, after noticing domestic tranquility, asked, "Where's my mother?" He was stunned to learn Edward had Tracy committed. Monica countered and accused Tracy of faking it to manipulate the family. At Shadybrook, Tracy fought Lainey tooth and nail and offered her a bribe to be released. Lainey realized Tracy was communicating with Alan, who was sitting on the bed in her room. Tracy lied and said she was just pretending but Lainey didn't buy it. Lainey left, and Alan advised Tracy to think of this as a sabbatical. Dillon arrived and shared an awkward hug with his mother, then vowed to spring her. "How about blackmailing your grandfather?" she suggested. After their visit, Edward caught Tracy talking to the ghost again. "Tracy may need to stay here indefinitely," he reasoned.

As Diane quizzed Sonny about Jason's true motives for wanting out of jail, Spinelli interrupted, claiming Sam may look guilty but he's convinced she didn't kidnap Jake. Sonny leveled with Diane that Jason is Jake's father and they wondered if Sam kidnapped the baby. They all reviewed the facts of the case pertaining to Sam. When Sonny asked Diane whether they should reveal the paternity to get Jason released, Spinelli balked. Sonny warned Spinelli to never to contradict him. Diane considered the idea but advised against it. Just then, Kate interrupted. "I need you, Sonny," she exclaimed. Kate explained that a tabloid was about to run an article that linked them romantically. "Use your influence," she begged. "What's in it for me?" he replied. Kate suggested that he needed to have a high-profile romance with someone else.

Ric had Logan dragged into the PCPD for questioning. There, Ric warned Logan that working for Sonny was a bad idea. He pointed out that Jason's luck has run out at long last. Ric suggested that Logan become an informant, an idea which Logan vehemently dismissed.

Amelia went to visit Jason, and Ric quizzed her about her true motivations. Ric denied her visit and after a brief chat, she realized that Ric loathes Sam, as well. Then, Amelia smiled.

At the coffeehouse, Spinelli shared with Lulu that Sonny knows about the paternity and was willing to give it up. Spinelli suggested telling Liz and Lucky but Lulu forbid it. Logan entered but she didn't have time for him. Logan was irate when Spinelli prevented him from interrupting Sonny. Logan blew past him but Sonny wasn't in the mood to listen, so he kicked Logan out.

At the Metro Court bar, Amelia quizzed Sam about Jake while Sam continued to drink wine. Later, a drunk Sam showed up at the Spencer house and told Liz, "I want to talk to you about your baby." When Sam told Liz that at least she could have more kids, an outraged Elizabeth kicked Sam out of her home. Drunk Sam then went to see Lucky. "Do you know something about my son?" he asked. "He's not," she replied.

At the Spencer house, Lucky apologized to Elizabeth for his suspicions, but Liz was still furious. Emily arrived in time to break up their argument. "You're his parents, act like it!" Em barked. Lucky left and Liz was disappointed that Lucky was being a cop first and a husband second. Em pointed out that Lucky needs someone to blame and he misplaced that blame with her.

At the TV studio, Amelia was surprised that Sam still had not told Jason about Jake's kidnapping. Sam sighed that she was sure he must have heard by now.

At PCPD, Jason shared his qualms about Sam with Spinelli, who in turn told Stone Cold about seeing Sam with the baby jumper. Jason summoned Diane and ordered her to get him released. Diane told him that making bail was unlikely. Then, Lucky barged in and ordered Jason to stay away from his family.

Maxie and Logan conversed at Kelly's about their bet when Lulu entered. Maxie smiled as Logan went to talk to her. Spinelli interrupted their talk and he verbally sparred with Logan, who was losing his temper. Then, Dillon and Milo showed up and Logan decided to head out. Maxie was furious that Logan gave way to the three stooges. The boys gave Lulu their support, then Spinelli noted something on his laptop and excused himself.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Alan's ghost advised Tracy to call her lawyer, she was unaware that Edward and Lainey were watching her seemingly talking to herself through the window. Edward told Lainey that Tracy has lost her grip on reality. They came inside, where Tracy saw right through Edward's lame excuse for why Lainey was there. Tracy told Lainey that she knows her father wants to put her away. Monica told Edward that she'd love to be able to see Alan again. Later, Lainey returned accompanied by two men with straitjackets for Tracy.

Carly was suspicious of Jax when he got off the phone as she entered the room. She suspected Jax was in contact with Jerry. Jax and Carly agreed to make up after squabbling, and Alexis arrived with papers for Jax to look at. Carly was furious that Alexis knew about his dealings while she was in the dark, so she left in a huff. Jax and Alexis chatted (he noticed her hair was growing back; she told him she was wearing extensions). The topic turned to Jerry and Jax admitted he's at a loss about what to do about his brother. Alexis told Jax that she believed there is still good in Jerry.

A dejected Sam went to the Metro Court bar and started drinking. Carly laid into her for getting drunk when Jason needed her. "Carly, if you only knew the truth," muttered Sam. The women started bickering over Jason when Amelia arrived and pulled them apart. Amelia warned Sam that she'd better watch her mouth before something slipped out. Sam told Amelia she doesn't care if Jake is found.

Spinelli reported to Jason that he saw Sam in surveillance footage near the park, which conflicted with the story that she had told him. Jason realized Sam lied.

Carly returned home, where Jax tried to whisk her off to the airport. Carly feared that he wanted them to go after Jerry and she balked. Jax said, "You either trust me or you don't. What's it going to be?"

Jax told Carly he enjoyed the barbecue at Sonny's and loves being married to her. Michael managed to eke 30 minutes of TV out of Carly before hitting the hay. When he clicked on the set, a news bulletin aired about Jake's kidnapping. Carly was upset and unable to answer Michael's question about who would want to take Lucky and Liz's baby. Carly sent Michael upstairs and recalled her fear when her own boys went missing. Then, Carly wondered if Jerry was responsible for the kidnapping. Jax didn't want to believe that but he did have his doubts. They agreed they didn't want to fight about Jerry.

At Kelly's, Lucky interrogated Spinelli and Lulu about Elizabeth's behavior while Coop filled in Maxie about the missing Jake. The three wondered if Elizabeth could be capable of hurting the child in a postpartum haze. Lulu was angry that Lucky suspected Liz of foul play. He insisted he didn't want to but she was the last person to see Jake.

At Sonny's, Kate told Sonny he was always an outsider, and now he's like that with his family. She applauded his selflessness in inviting Jax to the Father's Day cookout. "Why are you being so nice to me?" Sonny questioned. It didn't take long for the two to start bickering. Sonny then asked Kate if she was happy choosing her career over having a family. Kate was unapologetic and said she rarely regrets it — until she has days like today. Just then, Spinelli busted in and informed Sonny that they needed to work together to help "The Innocent One." Kate excused herself. Sonny told Spinelli that he knows about Jake's paternity and he'll tell Jason the news of the kidnapping. Sonny then instructed Spinelli to investigate the goings on in the park.

At the TV studio, Sam resented Amelia implying that Sam might have had something to do with Jake's disappearance. Amelia convinced Sam that she wasn't being accusatory (even though she was). Sam told Amelia that something like this happening was the reason Jason stayed quiet about siring Jake.

A tearful Elizabeth visited Jason at the PCPD and confessed that Jake was missing. Jason tried to keep Liz focused and get the whole story out of her. They both feared that one of Jason's enemies may have found out Jake's paternity. Jason advised Liz to stay calm and vowed he would do whatever it takes to find their son. Liz fell into Jason's arms and wept. Then, she regained some composure and recounted the details of her day in the park. Just then, Mac and Lainey entered. Liz was crushed to learn she was a suspect. "I did not hurt my son!" Lucky entered and Jason barked, "If you can't support Elizabeth, then get the hell out." Mac said that the circumstances looked like it wasn't a random grab, that the kidnapper may have been someone they know.

At Kelly's, Maxie told Logan it's time to move in on Lulu since she's vulnerable. Logan gave Lulu his sympathies about the kidnapping and offered his help. Logan pointed out how lucky Lulu is to have her family and friends. Logan opened up and said that his own father abandoned him and his mom.

At the Spencer house, Lucky vented his anger at Liz and blamed her for turning her back on their son and stormed out.... Sam tried to discourage Spinelli's investigation. Just then, a package arrived for Sam. Spinelli saw her open the package. It contained a blue baby jumper.... Sonny went to Jason, where the prisoner shared the details of his conversation with Amelia regarding Sam's possible culpability.

Michael was excited that Jax was accompanying them to Sonny's Father's Day barbecue. At Sonny's, Kate was furious that her own barbecue spread was covered in grass clippings when she was supposed to host her publisher. Sonny invited her and her guest to eat with them and promised not to call her Connie Falconeri in public. Kate left in a huff. Mike entered and caught a glimpse of Kate leaving. He thought he recognized her but Sonny said, "Nah." Mike said he wouldn't be joining them, but brought over his homemade BBQ sauce for all the Father's Days they missed spending together. Sonny admitted he was leery of Jax attending the event as a stepdad, but Mike offered sage advice about blended families. Jax, Carly and the boys arrived with gifts for both Sonny and Jax, surprising both men.

As Elizabeth helped Cameron tie his shoe in the park, baby Jake vanished from his stroller. Liz was horrified and began screaming. At Kelly's, Lulu told Lucky that she and Spinelli had just seen Liz and Jake in the park. His cell phone then rang. It was a frantic Liz who said that somebody took Jake. They rushed to the park where Mac and Cruz had already arrived and launched a search.

At Wyndemere, Emily tried in vain to get Nikolas to stop chasing after Jerry in his quest for revenge. Emily employed a little lovin' to get his mind off of Jerry. Afterward, Nik thanked her for continuing to remind him what's important. Then, the phone rang. It was Lulu with the bad news about Jake.

Amelia showed up at the TV studio late and out of breath. An more tardy Sam followed. The women were curious about where the other had been. Sam noted that she knows nothing about Amelia's personal life, and her questions made Amelia jumpy. Then, Cruz arrived and wanted to question Sam about Jake's disappearance. After the questioning, Amelia accused Sam of knowing more than she told the cops.

In the park, Mac quizzed Emily and Nik about Elizabeth's frame of mind and wondered if she was suffering from postpartum depression.

Spinelli ran into the PCPD to inform Jason of the kidnapping, saying it was a family matter. Coop didn't understand how that could be so. Spinelli pointed out that Jason saved Liz and the baby's life and would want to know. Lucky entered and demanded to know why Spinelli ran straight to Jason after the kidnapping. Lucky told an upset Liz, “Everyone is a suspect until we find our son.” When Lainey showed up to talk to Liz (on Mac's request), Lulu spirited Spinelli away. At Kelly's, Lulu shared her fear with Spinelli that the kidnapper might be an enemy of Jason's.

Kate arrived at Sonny's with her publisher after her caterer broke down and Carly relished embarrassing Kate in front of her boss. Carly accused Kate of hating kids, but Sonny stuck up for her. Carly pushed the envelope with Kate ,but didn't cross the line with her jabs. Jax and the boys came back from playing together, and Jax knew the publisher and sang Kate's praises in front of him, causing Carly to grimace.

Back at Wyndemere, Nik informed Emily that he's convinced Jake was taken by Jerry Jacks. Em got upset when Nik made plans to chase after Jerry in Europe.

After dinner, the publisher praised Sonny's culinary talents. The meal was great and everyone got along, but the publisher was oblivious to the camouflaged, backbiting comments that made it under the wire. Afterward, Kate noticed that Sonny was sad when his boys left with Jax.

Liz was furious that she was considered a suspect in the kidnapping case. Lucky insisted to Mac that Liz was innocent but after hearing Lainey talk about postpartum depression, he began to wonder about his wife's culpability.
