Patrick accused Robin of referring patients to his father just to annoy him. She accused him of being obsessed with defying his father because he feels inadequate. She said he should acknowledge that Noah is talented. She referred the patient to Noah because she wanted to prove they could disagree and still love each other. Later, Patrick told her he offered to assist Noah, but his father turned him down. He admitted fearing that if Noah fails it will reflect on him — and maybe Noah was once better than him. Robin called Patrick "the best of the best."

Sonny personally put a beatdown on "Mr. Craig" for going near his kids. Craig insisted that he's their "Uncle Jerry," and wants to be part of Jax's family. Sonny warned him to steer clear of the kids. Jerry said he wants the Craig identity to die off. Meanwhile, in the boiler room, Carly accused Jason of having too many muscles. He was frantic to escape and track Jake. When a janitor opened the door Jason took off. When Jason arrived at Sonny's cafe, he said he was going to look into Sam. When Carly arrived, Kate told her Sonny threatened to cut out Jerry's heart, and she was mortified that he could be so violent. Carly said Jerry deserves everything he gets, and advised Kate to walk away from Sonny if she's squeamish. Later, Sonny arrived at Kate's in time to hear her order her house sold because she has no desire to live next to him. He said she can't run from her desires. Carly returned to the boiler, where Jerry locked them both inside.

Sam was telling Amelia to accept that Maureen won't do the show when Lucky and Liz arrived to ask for airtime to appeal to the kidnappers. "NO!" Sam screamed. Amelia offered the entire hour. Sam accused Amelia of exploiting their grief and threatened to walk if Amelia put them on the air. Liz flipped out, then stormed out. At home, Lucky said Sam is jealous of Liz and Jason. Liz said Lucky should have fought harder to get on the air. Like "your friend" Jason? Liz stormed out. Later, Amelia called Maureen to plead with her, but when a baby started crying Maureen hung up.

When Sam arrived at the penthouse Spinelli accidentally revealed he was hunting for Jake in cyberspace. He said Stone Cold loves her, but she asked him to leave. Spinelli predicted that finding Jake would bring Jason and Sam back together. Elizabeth found Jason at Sonny's cafe and told him about EVERYDAY HEROES. He embraced her and promised to find "our son." When Liz returned home, Lucky suggested that Amelia might have taken Jake as a ratings ploy.

Lulu defended Logan to Spinelli as not being as bad as Scott. Logan said he doesn't consider Scott his father; he's "just some guy who got my mother pregnant." Elsewhere, Scotty dismissed Tracy's accusation that he fathered a secret son, and they traded threats. When Lulu and Logan arrived, Scott accused him of being a "loser" impersonator. Logan wished he wasn't really related to Scott, who threatened legal action. Tracy was surprised that Lulu had found Scott's real son just when Tracy was trying to blackmail him.

Jason went to Amelia to ask where she was when Jake was snatched. She cast suspicion on Sam. Meanwhile, Sam was drinking and flashing back to that day in the park: She saw Maureen snatch Jake! At that moment, Maureen was comforting Jake, saying, "Mommy's here." Meanwhile, Amelia told Jason about hearing a baby's cry at Maureen's place. Jason demanded to know where to find Maureen.

Tracy confessed to Lulu that she planned to find Scott's son to blackmail Baldwin. Scott arrived and again offered Tracy's release in exchange for the info on where Luke took Laura, but she had another deal in mind and told him she knew he had an illegitimate son. "It doesn't ring a bell. It was the 80s," snarked Scott, claiming he wasn't worried about "some bastard." Meanwhile, Lulu asked Spinelli to run a background check on Logan, explaining she suspected he was Scott's son. Logan arrived, and Lulu informed him that she believed Scott to be his father.

Carly returned home to find Jerry sitting with Michael. After sending Michael upstairs, Carly demanded to know where Jax was. Jerry refused to tell her, but did confess that he had sent his brother out of town because he wanted to "get better acquainted" with Carly. Meanwhile, Jason told Sonny that Sam was hiding something...just as she walked in. "I didn't realize you had made bail," she sneered and wondered aloud if he still believed she took Jake. Sam gave Spinelli the boot and blasted Jason for not believing in her. She was offended when he told her that he knew Elizabeth didn't take the baby since he still suspected her. Jason demanded to know what Sam was hiding, but her answer was interrupted by a frantic call from Carly, who announced that Jerry was back in town. Sam was unimpressed when Jason told her that Carly was in trouble, and he had to leave. "Carly's always in trouble. That's how she stays the center of attention," spat Sam, but Jason left anyway. In the Metro Court basement, Jason was annoyed to learn that Carly had called him away although she wasn't in immediate danger. When Jason tried to leave, he learned they were locked in. Carly accidentally broke a pipe, letting off steam. Jason stripped down to his tank top and turned off the valve.

At the coffee warehouse, Sonny walked in on Logan and Maxie bickering about their deal. "Is this how you do your job?" spat Sonny and ordered Logan back to work. Logan apologized. Scott interrupted and dismissed Logan. Scott accused Sonny of helping Luke spirit Laura out of Port Charles. He threatened that Jason would go down for murder and he would go after Sonny's business if Sonny didn't help him, but Sonny was not impressed. Amelia arrived and Scott wondered what business she could possibly have with Sonny. She lied that she was doing damage control on Sam's behalf, but she really wanted to make sure Sonny would keep quiet about their affair. He agreed. Meanwhile, Kate met Jerry at Metro Court and they flirted. She wondered why the staff was looking at them. "They think I'm a homicidal maniac," intoned Jerry, lying that he merely bore a resemblance to the Metro Court hostage-taker. Kate invited Jerry and Jax to her weekend home when it was completed. Later, at the coffee warehouse, Kate arrived to find Sonny threatening Jerry.

Amelia explained to her flunkie Wes that with their guest Maureen refusing to sign the release, they couldn't air her interview with Sam on EVERYDAY HEROES. Kate arrived and asked Amelia to go public with her affair with Sonny to take the heat off Kate, but Amelia refused, explaining she didn't want her broadcasting license revoked because of mob ties. Wes asked Sam to get Maureen to sign the release, but Sam responded that Amelia could "go to hell." Maxie arrived with clothes from Metro Court, and Sam sighed that she and Jason were falling apart. Maxie urged Sam to cut her losses. When Amelia chided Sam for not living up to her professional obligations, Sam challenged Amelia to go ahead and sue her.

Robin and Patrick bickered over a patient. He accused her of not being able to admit when she was wrong and she responded that he was the same way. "It's not bragging when you really are the best," puffed Patrick to Robin's annoyance.

Tracy insisted that Alan stop haunting her, but Alan warned that no one was going to come to Shadybrook to rescue her. Lulu visited, and Tracy characterized the family's decision not to have her released from the institution as revenge. Tracy yelled at Alan, and she wondered if Lulu thought she was crazy too. Lulu hedged that it was possible Tracy was being haunted. When Lulu said she wanted to help Tracy, Tracy sent her on an errand. Scott arrived and offered Tracy a "dignity deal": If she told him where Luke took Laura, he would drop the charges against Tracy and even have Edward committed to boot! Tracy refused, and Alan sighed that Scott was right about Luke: He was a user. Lulu argued with Logan at the coffee warehouse, where she went to pick up a package for Tracy. Lulu returned with the envelope Tracy requested. Tracy counseled Lulu to stay away from men. Lulu assured a skeptical Tracy that Luke cares about her despite his actions. Tracy looked in the envelope and planned to blackmail Scott with the info she learned: He has a son.

Michael asked Carly where Jax was, and Carly explained he wasn't coming home. Michael assumed that Carly and Jax were getting a divorce, but Carly insisted that wasn't the case and that Jax was doing everything he had to for his brother. Meanwhile, Jason's lawyer warned that he could be angering the judge by petitioning for bail. Amelia interrupted and suggested to Jason that Sam could be Jake's kidnapper. With that bomb dropped, Amelia made a speedy exit and Carly arrived, in theory to support Jason, but actually to get assurances about her relationship with Jax. Jason was released on bail and went through the list of suspects in Jake's kidnapping with Spinelli.

Sam was mooning over Jason's baby pictures of Michael when Alexis knocked at the door. Alexis warned Sam that Amelia was not her friend, and filled her in that Amelia had claimed Sam was a gold-digging con artist who killed Amelia's father. Sam copped to the crimes and explained her sordid past to Alexis, who was moved by the tale. Alexis blamed herself for Sam's history, but Sam claimed she was responsible for her own behavior. At the station Sam warned Amelia not to cross her. Amelia revealed the depths of her anger towards Sam. Sam spat that Amelia could "tell the world" about her past, but Amelia had other plans. "We are bound together," Amelia snarled. Amelia called the EVERYDAY HEROES subject who had claimed to have lost her baby in a fire, but the woman insisted she no longer wanted to be on the show. Amelia heard a baby crying in the background.

Maxie marveled to Coop that she was happy for the first time in a long time. Logan barged in, wondering what Maxie wanted when she called him. She covered that Lulu was bothering her and either Logan had to take care of the problem or she would. When Logan left, Coop asked what was going on with Maxie and Logan. She claimed she simply didn't like Coop's friend. Coop warned Maxie not to provoke Logan. Maxie blasted Logan for dropping hints about their secret deal.

Kate called Sonny "Michael," which he took to mean that he has her rattled. She insisted she doesn't care whom he's sleeping with as long as no one thinks it's her. He recalled that he taught Connie how to French kiss (she denied it). When Sonny answered a knock at Kate's door, it was Clarice with a satchel containing a diamond necklace. Kate swooned, but Sonny scoffed that possessions won't keep her warm at night. She claimed to have the phone numbers of the rich and powerful, but he said they don't care about her. She said, "There is no 'you and me.'" When he tried to help her remove the necklace, the diamonds tumbled into a grate in the floor. Kate grabbed them, but couldn't pull her hand out without dropping the jewels. Sonny climbed on top of her, but couldn't free her hand. He suggested calling maintenance, but she feared they'd jump to conclusions about their relationship. Later, a maintenance crew freed her. Sonny made sure everyone got a tip. Kate was aghast at the implication, and threw Sonny out. Then she overheard the manager tell the workers that Carly should never learn that "her ex-husband is sleeping with Kate Howard."

Carly started a squealing fight that distracted the thugs long enough for Jax to take them out and grab a gun so they could flee to the airport. Carly laid into him for risking his life for Jerry when he promised his life to her. He wanted her to go home while he stayed behind to help Jerry. She accused him of using Jerry as an excuse to walk away from her. He likened his need to help Jerry to her feeling compelled to help Sonny and Jason, and they kissed.

Lucky was massaging Elizabeth's feet when they heard Maxie on the porch. She wanted to express sympathy about their son, but Lulu arrived to scold Maxie for exploiting the tragedy. Lucky assured his wife they would find "their" son, and they kissed tenderly. Then he carried her to the bedroom. Lulu followed Maxie to the nurses' station at GH and warned her to stay away from Lucky or there will be payback. Maxie left a message for Logan to "talk about Lulu." Later, Liz dreamed that Jason brought Jake home and said, "Elizabeth, you're my family." She replied, "I love you." Then she woke up and checked downstairs — but it really was all a dream. She grabbed Jake's blanket and sobbed.

Amelia showed Alexis her file, explaining that "Angie Monroe" was really Sam. Alexis said the death was self-defense, but Amelia didn't buy it. Alexis threatened to squeal the plan to Sam. At that moment, a furious Sam was demanding that Jason justify lying about fathering Jake for "all these months." So he explained: He was grieving over Alan the same day he found out he was a father and that Sam can't have kids. He didn't want to make her feel worse. Amelia told Alexis that Sam deserves to suffer for exploiting men — and for using Alexis, too, by sleeping with Alexis' husband while she had cancer. Alexis threatened a lawsuit, but Amelia said no one can show damage. Later, Amelia was tailed by a stranger. Jason said his lifestyle isn't the best thing for Jake — that would be Liz's family. Sam said Liz's marriage is a lie. Then she confessed her life: she used to scam lonely men. She told Amelia Jason's secret, so maybe Amelia snatched Jake to frame Sam? He asked Sam directly: Do you know something about Jake? Sam flipped out. "What has happened to you?" she screamed and stormed out.

While Sonny and Amelia made out in his office, Kate set off the fire alarm, which broke the mood for Amelia. She invited Sonny to her hotel room, but he took a rain check. As Sam went through Amelia's "Angie" file, she found a letter to Amelia about Angela being cleared of killing her father, Bill Monroe. Sam flashed back to the scene: A maniacal Bill threw her around the room and called her a whore. She crawled to the gun cabinet and shot him as he advanced on her with a fireplace poker. Back at Sonny's cafe, Alexis brought Sonny some papers to sign, and she spotted a dropped earring, which Sonny recognized. Later Kate dumped her lighter in the trash before finding her assistant, Clarice, sitting in her pitch black room. Clarice noticed she lost an earring. Meanwhile, Sam brought flowers to her offspring's grave and talked about Jason's child with Liz, and how she's forgotten how to talk to Jason. She decided to be honest with Jason about Jake. Elsewhere, Kate couldn't work, so she sent Clarice home, then called Gabriella to ask a "hypothetical" about getting rid of feelings for an "inappropriate" old flame. Just then Sonny appeared with her earring. She tried to cover, but when Sonny spelled out the jealousy scenario she denied using a lighter to set off any alarms — but he hadn't mentioned any lighter. "You were there, Connie," he said. She copped to it, and he said that means she wants him for herself.

Jason demanded that Spinelli bust him out of jail — but the Jackal refused. He said Jason would be a target himself, and a distraction to the police. Plus, Jason is no detective. Spinelli and the police are working on finding the child. Lucky wondered why Elizabeth thinks Jason can rescue Jake but he can't. Liz said she doesn't care who rescues her son — and she doesn't have time for Lucky's inferiority complex. She's sick of stroking his ego. Jason would not turn this crisis into a macho competition. He whined about her talking to Jason instead of her own husband. She said Jason gives her hope, not grief. He complained she has no faith in him. Still in the interrogation room (Does he even have a cell?), Jason was using a convenient phone(!) when Elizabeth burst in to tell him about Lucky's whining. She said her family and marriage can't work without Jake. He said seeing her makes him feel better. Liz returned home to find Lucky, who said he wasn't looking for Jake because he was afraid he would go to a liquor store or score pills.

Jax offered to pay off the gun-wielding bartender, but he wasn't interested. Then Carly appeared and demanded he take the gun off her "brother-in-law," because her "husband," Jerry, is on his way! She told Jax that Jerry set him up; Jax figured Jerry paid the barman to keep him here so he'd be out of danger. Carly scoffed, saying he's lost the ability to reason and demanded to know what's more important: His brother or his family? Would he kill for Jerry? Jax assured her there are some lines he won't cross. Suddenly two thugs approached, and said they better hope Jerry cares enough about them to bargain for their lives.

Back at the studio, Amelia realized Sam may have seen the Angie file. When Alexis showed up with questions about Sam's contract, Amelia told her that Sam murdered her father. Sam went to the police station and pitched a fit to get Jason brought back to interrogation (He does have a cell!) so she can talk to him. When he arrived, she confessed that she knows he is Jake's father.
