GH Recaps Week of July 23, 2007Friday, July 27, 2007 As the masked gunmen opened fire at the PCPD, Ric kept Carly from running outside. Jason picked up a dropped weapon and returned fire. At the studio, Sam and Elizabeth were bickering until they saw the gunfight on a monitor. Maxie arrived and tried to call Coop. While gunfire echoed in the background, Ric accused Diane of being involved. Carly ordered Lucky to protect Jason "because you owe him." Not that Jason needed protecting: When his gun was emptied, he grabbed one from a fallen cop and finished off the masked men. When it was over, Lucky came out and ordered Jason to drop his weapon. The toll: One dead guard and three dead gunmen. As Jason was brought inside, Ric wanted to add three more murder charges to Jason's crimes, infuriating Carly. Sam wondered if Liz was really glad Lucky wasn't hurt. Liz warned Sam that if she testifies against Jason she will eventually hate herself. When Maxie asked if Sam was really testifying Sam said she's standing up for herself, but admitted she still loves Jason. Sam called Liz an "irritating prig." Maxie agreed she hates Liz, but said it's impossible to trump Liz's sympathy card. Sam said she knows secrets and is not afraid to use them. At the PCPD, Jason suggested the gunmen were seeking revenge for Alcazar. Diane said the video showcases how much of a trained killer Jason is. When Sonny arrived at the scene Ric gloated that Sonny's plan failed. Sonny denied everything. Alexis happened by and traded insults with Ric. Liz brought Jake home and told him today was a "terrifying reminder" of why they can't be with his real dad; no mater how much Jason loves him, his life is too dangerous. Carly went to Jerry's place and accused him of trying to kill Jason. Jerry denied everything, instead accusing Sonny. Back at PCPD, Max told Jason that Liz visited Sam, and they fought. A cop said the shooters had Venezuelan IDs. Robin withdrew her question, but Noah wondered if there were rumors about him sleeping with Anna. Patrick pointed out they shouldn't get involved because their children are already hooked up. Noah called it none of their business and left. Robin was convinced they were sleeping together, and both agreed it's a bad idea. Noah was getting off duty and going to see Anna. Then Patrick and Robin went home and drank wine. He suggested a romantic dinner.
Liz told Lucky she saw the gunfight at Sam's studio, which made him suspicious. Max visited Sam to tell her Jason is fine and asked her not to
testify against Jason (which made her weepy). Mayor Floyd scolded Ric for the messy gunfight and warned that if he screws up again, he's giving the case to Scott Baldwin. Carly asked Sonny if the gunmen were his, but he
denied it. She worried that Jason will be convicted. Amelia visited Jason to
tell him the shooters were Venezuelan. Since he saved her life, she's going to keep him from going to jail. Alexis wanted to argue that palimony rules protect Sam from having to testify, but Sam said she's going to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Lucky asked if Liz would change her testimony to protect Jason. She said she will only tell the truth. Diane asked the judge for a change of venue; Ric was against it. Since he's a judge on a soap, the judge rejected common sense and ordered the
trial to begin tomorrow. After a quick dissolve shot, the trial was called to order.
Thursday, July 26, 2007 Eli arrived late for a consult after spending most of the night with Anna. Patrick thought Noah was enjoying the Eli Love role too much. Epiphany was training Jolene, Leyla and Regina — who mistook Noah for Eli. Noah sang Anna's praises for helping him practice his Eli moves. Robin cautioned him that Anna is an adventure junkie. Noah scoffed that it's too soon to think about a relationship. Kelly came by and filled in Robin on her interrupted session with Jerry (they met in a bar) while Patrick grilled Noah about spending so much time with Anna. Later, Elizabeth told Epiphany she was worried about accidentally getting Jason convicted. Epiphany said Jason has it coming. Then Sam arrived on the 7th floor. Apparently confused about where the ER is, she claimed she injured her wrist and casually mentioned that she's testifying against Jason tomorrow. Sam made a huge scene about Liz always sniffing around Jason and not paying attention to her husband. Later, Patrick and Robin compared notes about his father and her mother and worried that they might hook up. After overhearing Noah make a date, Robin blurted out, "Are you sleeping with my mother?" At Pentonville, Sonny told Jason he thought the case against him was strong with that recording. Jason was confident Sam's testimony wouldn't hurt him, but pointed out it's tempting for the scorned Sam to cooperate with Ric. Ric, meanwhile, was boasting to Diane that Jason would be convicted. She blanched when she saw Sam on the witness list. As for Sam, she told Amelia she won't be available to tape for two weeks because she's testifying against Jason. She vowed to never take Jason back, under any circumstances. Sonny reminded Jason that Sam is a con artist out for revenge, so he should bury her first. Jason refused. Sonny told him to come clean about Jake; Jason refused. Later, Ric visited Amelia to suggest she do a show on him. Since the public is fascinated by gangsters (GH sure is!) he suggested she document his victory over Jason — starting with taping his transfer from Pentonville. Still later, Carly burst in on Sonny to demand he help Jason. Sonny tried to talk her out of doing anything crazy. Then Ric visited Sonny to gloat and warn against trying to bust Jason free, because he's filming the transfer. Sonny then rushed to Kate's place, to welcome her back to town. Kate told Sonny their night of passion was fueled by an aphrodisiac (and, although she was drugged, he didn't take advantage of her). He suggested they figure out where they're going next. As Jason was shackled for his transfer, Jerry waited outside PC police headquarters, telling Carly he's going to prevent Jason from going to prison. Later, in the transfer van, Jason's guard babbled endlessly about his family, including a son, and asked Jason if he had any kids. Outside PCPD, Ric told Carly about the camera crew. She threatened to tell them what Ric did to her in the panic room. Ric blustered and dared her. Liz told Emily that Sam is testifying. Liz wasn't sorry she slept with Jason. Emily said to ignore her, but Liz was worried that something Sam recalled from three years ago could hurt Jason's current case (How?). Sam returned to the studio, where she learned Amelia is doing a piece on the trial with Ric. Liz found Sam at the studio and asked her not to turn in Jason. Sam called her "a lying tramp." As Jason was bought out of his van, masked men opened fire, hitting the guard. Jason knocked Amelia to the ground to get her out of the line of fire, then contemplated going for a dropped gun.
Wednesday, July 25, 2007 Sonny told Max he is going to be seeing more of Kate, so Max should show her some respect. Then Milo reported that Kate apparently returned to Manhattan. When Logan was delivered to the cafe, Max told Milo that Logan had been with Lulu, so Milo frisked him roughly. Sonny demanded an explanation for Logan losing the shipment and called him a liability — "one I need to get rid of." While Milo grilled Max about what Lulu was doing at Logan's place, he called Logan "The Unworthy One." Meanwhile, Logan assured Sonny he didn't report in only because he didn't want to lead the cops to him. The boss seemed impressed. At the penthouse, Carly jumped Sam and they had a full-on catfight, which Diane broke up. At GH, Epiphany told Elizabeth that if Jason goes to prison maybe Stan will quit the mob. Ric appeared and told Liz she's being subpoenaed as witness for the prosecution against Jason. At Pentonville, Amelia tried to turn Jason against Sam, but he refused. Diane told Carly and Sam the cops are coming with a search warrant for the penthouse. On cue, Mac arrived to look for evidence in Alcazar's murder. Scott wandered by the penthouse to stick his nose in for no good reason. Back at Pentonville, Liz donned a little yellow-and-black number to tell Jason she's a witness for his prosecution. He told her to tell the truth, because she knows nothing incriminating. Liz pointed out that Ric knows they slept together, so what if he asks about Jake? She didn't want to "help" Ric prosecute him. At the penthouse, Carly ranted at Scott, prompting Diane to scold her. Carly warned that Sam might betray Jason to Mac and Scott as revenge. Later, Carly stormed in on Sonny to rant about Jason's case. Ric visited Sam with a subpoena to testify against Jason. "I'll tell you anything you need to know," she vowed. Outside Kelly's, Maxie called off her deal with Logan, but he said he's going to keep seeing Lulu. Meanwhile, Coop tried to warn Lulu away from Logan, but she scoffed. Liz reported for work, where Epiphany advised her to tell the truth. Nik arrived and asked Liz for advice about Lulu. Liz said if Lulu sees good in Logan, Nik should mind his own business. At the cafe, Carly suggested busting Jason out of jail. Sonny said he'll handle Jason. Jason met with Diane, who told him he's being transferred back to Port Charles, and his trial starts the next day. She fretted about that phone call. Jason revealed Ric knows Liz slept with Jason, so Diane must stop Ric from digging into his personal life. Jason vowed to do "anything" to protect his son. Diane pointed out that could mean going to jail for life.
Tuesday, July 24, 2007 Carly met with a sleepy Jason (What, too many visitors?) to criticize Sam, but he told her the relationship is already over and it was Sam's call. At the penthouse, Sam told Nikolas she's moving out, which means Jason is back on the market, so Elizabeth might be interested. Nik was confused. Sam claimed that Lucky isn't exactly stupid (no?), and the truth will hurt. Even as Carly warned Jason to stonewall Elizabeth, Nik visited Liz at the GH nurses' station to ask if she's planning to leave Lucky for Jason. He let her know he knows what happened last summer, and doesn't want to see his brother hurt. He asked what will happen if Lucky makes her choose? Nik got a call from Lainey, who wanted her to visit Tracy at Shadybrook. Later, Nik found Tracy ranting at the absent Alan. She told Nik, "Lulu's in trouble." Back at Grand Central...er, Pentonville, Jason demanded to know what's wrong in Carly's life. She said she misses her husband. Jason warned Carly to stay away from Jerry, but she thinks he will lead her to Jax, and Jerry might also be able to get Jason sprung. Amelia visited the penthouse to ask Sam how long until she decides to steal Lucky from the woman who stole Jason. Sam admitted Lucky would be a nice catch and he deserves someone better than Elizabeth. Then Sam (finally) realized that Amelia was baiting her and threw the redhead out. Logan told Lulu Iraq "was war." It's hot, thirsty, uncomfortable work, and fear is in everyone's eyes. The smell of death never leaves. He relives the horror every day. You can't sit on a shrink's couch and talk it out. Cody snapped, and it could have been him. Logan fears he may still snap. Lulu acted sorry for pressing him about it. Next on Jason's hit parade, Amelia suggested he rat out Sam for aiding and abetting Jake's kidnapping — before she tells Lucky about Jake. Jason wasn't interested, and warned Amelia against spilling the beans. Carly went to the penthouse to watch Sam pack, enraging Sam. She blasted Carly as unworthy of Sonny and Jason, and suggested Jax is hiding from her. Carly said Sam is the loser: she's the one who lost Jax, Sonny and Jason. Sam hit her rival.
Monday, July 23, 2007 Kate apologized for sucking face with Sonny, but he recalled their nights "under the boardwalk" at Coney Island. She wondered why she can't control herself. Later, he cooked her what he romantically referred to as "carbs," and she admitted that sometimes she doesn't want to be "Kate Howard" — and jumped him. Later, they basked in the afterglow on the couch (apparently she's also had enough of beds.) She insisted she doesn't normally do that sort of thing and isn't carrying a torch for him. When Warren called with news of the pill mix-up she told Sonny she had "accidentally ingested" an aphrodisiac. Sonny was skeptical (Who says "ingested"?) He promised to grill her a steak if she stayed, but she left. Cody warned Logan he would have to pay for Iraq "sooner or later." Lulu demanded an explanation, but Logan played dumb and warned her to avoid Cody, who lurked nearby. Lucky demanded Sam tell him if Jason loves Elizabeth. Meanwhile, Liz was apologetic for causing trouble by visiting Jason. Sam said she doesn't blame Liz for breaking up her and Jason — they'd stopped listening to each other. Lucky was either unconvinced or being cement-headed again, as he kept asking her over and over. Sam insisted she and Jason are over because of them, not Liz. Lucky demanded to know if Jason betrayed her with Liz. Jason told Liz she and Lucky are doing a great job with Jake, if photos are any indication. Sam told Lucky that every time Liz played the victim and Jason rescued her, that was betrayal. Then Amelia arrived to jump to conclusions and demand that Sam go to the Eli Love party to meet more network people. (Perhaps ratings would rise if she met fans instead?) Lucky left. Jason insisted he didn't want to cause more problems for Liz and Lucky. She revealed she told Lucky she doesn't love Jason. A guard ended Liz's visit then ushered in Lulu, who begged him to make sure Liz never tells Lucky the truth because it would destroy him. Liz, meanwhile, met with Lucky at Kelly's. Lucky demanded to know if she wants to be with Jason when he gets out. He insisted "the truth" helps him stay sober. She repeated her completely unconvincing line about choosing him and their family. Lulu warned Jason that Liz will have to make a decision sooner or later. While bickering with Carly about who likes Jerry, Alexis frantically whisked the room clear of stuffed animals (worried about blood splatter?). Carly ordered Alexis to get Jerry's clothes off so Carly could grab his PDA. Jerry arrived with wildflowers. "Alone at last," he mused. While Carly stood in plain sight in the background, Jerry poured some wine. Alexis made a clumsy attempt to throw it, er, spill it on him, which he passed off as her being nervous. Ric suddenly arrived and demanded an explanation, which ruined everything. Alexis threw Ric out, but it was too late. Jerry cheered her performance and admitted he knew Carly was there. (How could he not see her — especially with that plunging neckline?) He refused to tell Carly where Jax is and left, but not before giving Alexis a peck on the cheek.
