GL Recaps Week of January 8, 2007

Friday, January 12, 2007
Reva stared at red Xs in her day planner as Lizzie came down dressed very Beth-like and looking for Jonathan. After Reva left, Lizzie paced with Sarah and let in Rick. In church, Tammy paced with the Virgin Mary and flashed back on Lizzie and Jon cavorting. "I'm about to do something really bad," she told Cassie. Lizzie unburdened herself to a reluctant Rick, pleading, "Please help me get my husband back." Tammy confided in Cassie about her incestuous, adulterous feelings...as well as Lizzie possibly staging her romp. Tammy admitted her plans were "ugly" and asked Cassie to talk her out of home-wrecking or "forever hold your peace." Cassie actually wished Tammy happiness. Then Lizzie arrived, suggesting Tammy check out the chapter in the Bible about stealing husbands. The Virgin Mary and Sarah witnessed a big ol' argument about Jonathan. Lizzie brought up the cousinly wrongness and Sandy while Tammy called the conception of Sarah "meaningless." Ooh. "Accept defeat and move on," Tammy warned. Of course, Lizzie refused. She furiously threw a candle but then lit one and assured Sarah that "Daddy is not going to leave us." We wouldn't bet on it, Lizzie, because at Cross Creek, Jonathan finally came home from parts unknown and Tammy threw herself into his arms, crying, "I love you!" while kissing him.

Buzz presented Olivia with a wedding cake topper of a couple on a motorcycle while Jeffrey called Coop with Alan-Michael and Ava's Parisian location. A-M showed Ava their kickass apartment but she preferred a hotel room instead. He told Ava to go back to Springfield if she doubted him. Of course Ava wasn't leaving! Behind her back, A-M made plans to keep Coop from finding them. At C02, Jeffrey and Olivia went a few rounds about Coop and Ava and Alan-Michael. Jeffrey reminded Olivia of how she'd once made "the worst mistake of her life." Did she want that to happen to Ava? Too late, Folks: the next shot was Ava in an unfortunate beret. Giddy on wine, she praised Paris to smug A-M...who ordered more booze when she left the room and set the mood for romance. Naturally, that's when Coop appeared. Olivia called and left Ava a maternal message but hung up when Buzz returned. "If you're looking for Oxford, you should turn left and swim the Channel," A-M cracked at Coop, who blasted him. Ava walked in on the fight and jumped to Alan-Michael's side when Coop punched him. Then she kicked Coop out. Back home, Buzz and Olivia batted around honeymoon ideas. "Paris?" she suggested. (Hmm, we wonder why?) Later, Ava mothered bruised A-M and the champagne arrived. Thwarted Coop, meanwhile, called Jeffrey and asked him to help get dirt on his rival.

Josh told Wanda to look busy as Billy's galpal Sheila came by. "I'm crazy about Billy!" Sheila declared. Josh and Wanda loudly talked about money and bank accounts. Reva burst in on Josh's staged niceties, calling him a "traitor." Cue a loud fight and Josh hauling her outside. In the hall, they dropped the act, studying a picture of Sheila practicing Billy's signature and spying on Sheila signing a check to herself. Billy caught them watching the video! They all burst into the room and Sheila started stammering excuses. Billy called her a "common thief," and admitted he'd found her signatures. Reva got riled and ready to kick Sheila's scrawny butt when the conwoman sniped that Billy was worthless and left. "There ain't no fool like an old fool," Billy sighed to Josh before thanking Josh and Reva and going off alone. Reva's eyes then fell to the day planner on the desk and she asked Josh to go have a drink with her. Over drinks, Reva checked out her calendar again and was about to tell Josh the significance when Cassie arrived. All warmth disappeared and so did Reva, after promising to "keep her distance" from the duo. Reva left a message for Cal, citing being 90 days cancer-free and "scared out of my mind."

Mallet and Marina were approached by fans of "THE LAW." Marina happily handed out autographed glossies. Remy and Dinah saw Marina on television making a plea for viewers to start a letter-writing campaign to save "THE LAW." Dinah showed Mallet the tape of Marina's pitch and he defended that Marina's actions were thoughtful. Marina questioned Dinah about why she was so insecure in her relationship with Mallet and said that if Dinah had put Mallet first for once, she wouldn't have let him quit the show. Dinah questioned Remy about Tammy. "You're not going to get her if you don't go after her," she warned, but Remy was reluctant to take love advice from someone with Dinah's checkered past.

Ava said goodbye to Coop again. She agreed to call when she arrived in Paris. Meanwhile, Jeffrey had a "daddy conversation" with Alan-Michael. Jeffrey pointed out that the standard Spaulding "no fraternization" clause was missing from Ava's contract. Jeffrey threatened to make life difficult for Alan-Michael if he mistreated Ava. "I'm not into taking advantage of young women, unlike some people I know," Alan-Michael blasted. Coop overheard as Alan-Michael told someone on the phone that Ava wasn't like the others and needed to be "cultivated." Jeffrey took Ava's Spaulding contract to her. He cautioned that Spaulding wasn't the only company she could work for, but she claimed to recognize the opportunity for what it was. Ava teased Jeffrey about being her dad. Alan-Michael tried to convince an all-business Ava that there would be time for fun in Paris. Coop enlisted Jeffrey's help in finding out what Alan-Michael was planning for Ava, and Jeffrey learned that the Spaulding jet would be in Paris for a week, despite Alan-Michael's claims that he and Ava would only be there for a day. Coop decided to follow them to Paris.

Daisy/Susan and Harley spoke via Webcam. Gillespie ran into the frame, and Harley wanted to know who he was. Daisy covered that she was in church and Gillespie was a priest (!). Gillespie told Daisy that they were in Springfield because he had a job offer. Gus was optimistic that the judge would allow them to adopt Sydney, but Harley remained concerned. Gus discovered that his service revolver was missing and worried that he faced instant suspension if his bosses learned that the weapon was stolen. Also, it could hurt he and Harley in the custody trial. Mallet and Marina agreed not to tell anyone about the gun. Mallet told Marina he would be a background player on "THE LAW," but the "romance" storyline had to stop. Daisy took drugs with Gillespie (who had a gun tucked in his pants. Remarkably, the writers resisted the obvious joke) as Harley sent Daisy an e-mail asking her to come home to Springfield immediately.

Harley flashed back to giving up Susan for adoption. She and Gus received a webcam video from Susan talking about school and field trips and other such teenager things. Harley and Gus showed up at Susan's dorm room with a bag full of goodies, including snowboarding boots and cookies. Harley worried that Susan would see the gifts as bribes, but that wasn't a problem because Susan was nowhere to be found. Instead, they found her roommate Tiffany, who claimed that all of the kids made phony videos of what their parents wanted to see. She said that Daisy (as Susan was calling herself now) might be with a guy.

Following a lead from a student, Harley and Gus walked in on a male student having sex with a girl they believe to be Susan/Daisy. After blasting the boy for his behavior, they realized that the girl wasn't Susan/Daisy after all. The boy revealed that Susan/Daisy hung out with older guys and made lots of road trips to Springfield. Harley was stunned that her daughter had been visiting Springfield without telling her. Gus suggested that perhaps Susan/Daisy was playing her parents against each other. Harley and Gus went to Cross Creek to get Dylan's phone number from Reva. Reva revealed that she had a visit from Daisy, who except for the name change, seemed like the same old Susan to her.

Jeffrey accused Harley and Gus of sabotaging their custody case by leaving town. Jeffrey was appalled to learn that they hadn't yet found Susan/Daisy. Harley fantasized that Susan returned to Springfield and explained away all of the strange behavior. Harley and Gus went to bed, but Harley heard and noise downstairs. Gus hurt his back tussling with the intruder. The burglar escaped and Harley received a call from Susan/Daisy who had reasonable explanations for most of her suspicious behavior. Susan/Daisy agreed to come home for the custody case, but when she hung up the phone, it was revealed that she was fraternizing with Gillespie, the hit man Olivia hired to kill Ava. He gave her a camera he stole from Gus and Harley's home and she kissed him as a reward, before agreeing to meet him the next day.

Alan-Michael ordered a fancy company car for Ava. Alexandra warned that she had seen many "mighty men" brought down by a woman's smile. Meanwhile, Coop met Ava at her request. He hoped for a reconciliation, but she only wanted to say goodbye before leaving for Paris on a business trip with Alan-Michael. Coop put Alan-Michael on notice that he and Ava would be back together soon, but Alan-Michael countered that if Coop and Ava were the real deal, they'd be in London together. Ava was thrilled to go to Paris and have a great car when she returned and hugged Alan-Michael. "Whatever it was, I'm not complaining," Alan-Michael said of the embrace. "I'm using you," Ava said, explaining that she was getting a business education.

Olivia pushed for a low-key wedding to Buzz, pointing out that it wasn't the first go-round for either one of them. "It's the last go-round," claimed Buzz, who wanted a big shindig. Olivia worried that there was no point in a big wedding since there wouldn't be any happy guests. Buzz proved his point that all weddings and families are messy by questioning other patrons about their weddings. Olivia agreed to have the "mother of all weddings" and they sealed the deal with a kiss. Buzz told Alex about his wedding plans, and after offering a toast to his happiness, she made a speedy exit. "Look at you, leaving a trail of broken hearts everywhere you go," Marina teased her grandfather about his past with Ms. Spaulding. Coop pumped Marina for info about Alan-Michael's seduction techniques. She claimed that Alan-Michael was blatant with his affections and knew how to make a girl feel special.

Jeffrey arrived to coach Gus and Harley for their upcoming custody trial. In their favor, Jeffrey counted that no family member had come forward to claim Sydney and Gus' drug use was already out in the open. Jeffrey encouraged Gus to keep his testimony short and sweet and revealed that he was more worried about Harley. A man listened outside as Jeffrey recounted Harley's rocky history with daughter Susan and the fact that she had "three children with three different men." The eavesdropper entered, explaining he was a lawyer for Mr. Driscoll, Sydney's father, who intended to sue for custody. Gus and Harley believed that Sydney's father was really after money. Jeffrey urged Harley to get Susan to testify to her fitness as a mother. Harley left a phone message for Susan. Harley confessed to Gus that she wasn't sure that Susan would give positive testimony, since Susan hadn't been in touch recently. Meanwhile, Jeffrey learned of Ava's Paris plans from Coop. Jeffrey called the French photographer who Ava and Alan-Michael were traveling to visit and learned that the photographer was willing to fly, despite Alan-Michael's claims to the contrary (and his excuse for the Paris trip). Jeffrey revealed Alan-Michael's duplicity to Olivia.

Josh warned Alan not to abduct Reva — but it turned out Reva was holding Alan at gunpoint. Josh talked her into surrendering H.B.'s old revolver. Reva recounted being confronted by a threatening Alan outside Outskirts, so she pulled the gun. Josh threw Alan out of the church, but the departing tycoon reminded her of his offer. Reva admitted killing Alan would solve a lot of people's problems — but she couldn't do it. Reva said she wanted to talk with Alan "like civilized adults" to warn him away from her son and granddaughter. Alan voiced his concerns about Jonathan getting his mitts on Lizzie's inheritance and offered Reva cash for the stock Jon will get. She declined. Josh offered to join her fight — until he got a text from Cassie looking for Reva. Then he decided Reva was on her own. Reva told Josh she feels like she has nothing left to lose, so he reminded her of how much effort he's devoted to always rescuing her instead of playing soccer with RJ. She got a text from Jonathan asking her to come take care of Lizzie and Sarah, so she told Josh not to worry about her. He went home to Cassie and assured her that he only wants to be with her at RJ's game.

A lingerie-clad Lizzie nuzzled a drugged Jonathan, and when she noticed Tammy peeping in the window, Lizzie closed the blinds. Lizzie realized that she overdrugged Jonathan just as Tammy banged on the door. A furious Tammy told Lizzie she found the DVD and knows Lizzie's faking the "postpartum crap." Lizzie boasted that Jonathan is "spectacular" in bed, and they are a happy family. On Main Street, Cassie ran into Tammy, who sobbed that she's been a fool; despite Lizzie lying about her depression, Jonathan is "sleeping" with Lizzie. Tammy wanted to leave town. Jonathan awoke with a nasty headache. Lizzie intimated that they got romantic, but he was sure nothing happened, no matter how drunk he was. "With everything I am, I love Tammy," he said. Lizzie backpedaled that while they hadn't made love, they did become "closer." He said Sarah needs to see her parents happy, and he loves Tammy. Lizzie warned that Tammy will never be Sarah's mother. Jonathan started to leave, so Lizzie started crying. "It's too late. Tammy's already gone," she wailed. Jonathan freaked, saying "You're whacked!" Lizzie begged him not to leave her alone, because, "I don't know what I'll do." So he summoned Reva to watch over her. Tammy bemoaned being hung up on Jonathan, but Cassie said it's love. Then Cassie saw Alan getting coffee at CO2 and asked what he did to Reva. Alan acted hurt and said Reva was losing it — but Josh was there to pick up the pieces, like always. Lizzie tried to bar Jonathan from leaving, but he told her she needs a man who will love her and only her. Then he set off on a frantic search for Tammy.

Mallet assured Dinah that editing made it look like he and Marina were more than partners on "THE LAW," but he quit the show anyway. Dinah fretted that she doesn't trust Marina. Later, Dinah spotted Remy on Main Street and cozied up to him. At the station, Marina postured for camera over a minor case. Later, Mallet yanked a splinter for Marina and pointed out that she didn't handcuff a perp today. She played for the camera. Later, Mallet walked in on a shirtless Remy with Dinah, who joked about paying him for "services," but noted that he is going undercover for her show. After Remy departed Mallet accused her of stirring up trouble in their relationship just to keep it interesting — which obviously worked, because they began making love.
