GL Recaps Week of January 15, 2007
Friday, January 19, 2007
Josh and Reva stood outside of Cedars; Reva lingered at the door and was
apprehensive about her checkup. Josh's attempts to calm her down weren't
working, but she thanked him for coming with her. Josh said he owed her and
taking her to the doc was the least he could do. Later, Dr. Colin reassured
Reva that the lump might not be cancer at all; it could be a number of
things. After the test, Reva was surprised that Josh was still waiting for her; they
left together and bonded over coffee at CO2 while they waited for the test
results. When they returned to the hospital, Dr. Colin informed Reva she was
still cancer-free; Josh hugged her.
On their honeymoon, Jonathan and Tammy tumbled around in bed together. Jon
stared at his wedding band and freaked out that Tammy was actually his
"wife," claiming something must be wrong because he was the happiest he'd
been in his entire life. Later, Mel called to tell Jon he was officially
granted temporary custody of Sarah pending Liz's psychiatric evaluation. Of
course Jon was ecstatic, then he ridiculously jumped around and danced
saying, "There's gonna be a baby here! Who's your daddy?!"
At the Spaulding mansion, Alan cradled Sarah while Lizzie pondered how long
it would take before "they" came to take her baby away, then said that Sarah
was her only hope of ever getting Jonathan back. "Back?" Alan asked. He was
shocked and visibly disturbed that Lizzie was still trying to win Jon. When
Jon called Liz to tell her and Sarah to meet him on Main Street, Alan
convinced her to go alone and leave Sarah with him. After Liz left, Alan
made a call to bad boy (and now hit man) Gillespie to discuss possibly
putting a hit out on Jonathan but said he needed to talk with Liz first
before making any final decisions.
On Main Street, Jon was upset that Sarah wasn't brought along then broke the
news to Liz that he was granted custody. "Don't you dare talk to me like I'm
crazy!" Liz scathed. After she refused to go get Sarah, she threatened Jon,
who left to get his paperwork. Later, Lizzie broke down at the church, when
Remy entered. He was stunned to find out that Jon and Tammy had wed. When
Liz returned to the Spaulding manse, Alan saw how upset she was, hugged her
and asked her what she wanted him to do. When Liz told him to do whatever it
takes to stop Jon, Alan replied, "Now you're talking like a Spaulding,
that's my girl." So then Liz called Jon, apologizing for her behavior and
begged Jon to meet her and Sarah at a place where no one could find him; Jon
agreed. When she hung up, Alan was right at her side. Liz said he could pay
Jon off, make him go away or whatever—just make him stop trying to take
Sarah. Meanwhile, Jon prepared to leave and left a note for Tammy, who was
at the church and also ran into Remy. He was upset; Tammy said she never
meant to hurt him. On the way back to her pad, Tammy overheard Gillespie
talking about Jon and saying something about "taking care of it"; she
freaked when she discovered Jon was gone so she called Remy to tell him she
thought Jon was in trouble, but Remy was too bummed out to help her.
Later, Jon waited to meet Liz while a crying and panicked Tammy drove to
find him and made desperate calls to him informing him that he was being set
up, but he wouldn't answer his phone. As Jon waited by the side of the road,
a villainous-looking Gillespie drove fast in his car, music blaring, and
approached Jon, who looked scared and confused as the headlights from the
oncoming car blinded him.

At the church, Jonathan and Tammy met at the alter, preparing to exchange their vows while Lizzie spied (and grimaced) unnoticed from behind a wall. Cassie held baby Sarah and got choked up as she shared how proud she was of them both. Meanwhile, Lizzie was visibly upset but left (surprisingly) instead of interrupting the occasion to create more drama. With no objections heard, Father Ray decided to finish the ceremony. Tammy recited her vows, making an elaborate dedication to her love of Jon by saying he helped her become the woman she is and promised she'd be there for him "till death do us part." During Jonathan's vows, he said he felt cleansed, light and free. "You make being good sexy as hell!" he told Tammy. Before they left, Tammy threw the bouquet for Cassie to catch. Later, Jon carried Tammy over the threshold into a romantic room, decked out with rose petals and champagne; they had sex as husband and wife.
At CO2, Alan confronted Josh about his recent "abduction" by Reva. He informed Josh that he'd spoken to someone at the D.A. office and was trying to get Reva arrested on kidnapping charges, but Josh called his bluff. Alan continued to bother Josh and tried to convince him that Josh was a "witness" in his supposed kidnapping then suggested that security cameras might have caught the incident, but Josh said he had them checked out and there wasn't anything to prove Reva was guilty. Then he basically called Alan insane. "Don't forget to take your meds, Alan" he added. Desperate to get Josh worked up, Alan admitted he was going to help Reva get Josh back and stop Jonathan from keeping Sarah.
At Cross Creek, a worried Reva waited to hear from Cal. Lillian called her to remind her again to come in for her 3-month check up and had to break the news that Cal had died. Lizzie entered and told Reva that Jon was marrying Tammy. Reva suggested it was time for Liz to move on because it was obvious Jon was not ever going to want her in the way he wants Tammy. Reva thanked Lizzie for giving her a grandchild, but Lizzie went nuts and screamed that Reva was lying to her and didn't really like her. When Reva left, Lizzie shouted "Fine! Just leave me! Like mother like son!"
Reva left a voice message for Jonathan telling him she was very happy for him and was sad she didn't get to see the wedding, then ran into Josh who asked her if she was okay. Josh told her he'd talked to Alan and admitted that he and Billy actually taped over the security tapes they confiscated from the kidnapping incident so she should be safe. Reva shared the news of Cal’s death, then admitted to Josh that she was nervous about her three-month checkup because she had found a lump. Josh was shocked and said he'd be by her side this time and they'd face it together, then he made the call to schedule her appointment.
Lizzie called the police, demanding to know where Sarah was. Cassie showed up with Sarah; Liz told her to hand over her daughter because she had a right to keep her own child. The cop said to give Liz her baby, but Cassie was concerned.
At the Spaulding mansion, Alan was looking at the creepy baby book he'd created for Sarah when he saw Lizzie at the door, with Sarah in tow. Liz admitted that she needed him. Alan told Liz he thought the situation with Jon was for the best. Liz asked him to help her gain custody of Sarah — and do whatever it takes.

Tammy woke up in bed to find Jonathan holding Sarah next to her. She made a
comment about how great it was when dreams actually came true. They cooed
over Sarah together, bathed her, changed her diaper and fed her. Later, on
Main Street a woman mistook Tammy for Sarah's mom and said the three of them
made a perfect family; Tammy freaked and reminded Jon that they weren't
"technically" together at all (as she looked at his wedding ring). Jon
suggested they just get on a plane together and never look back again.
Tammy said they couldn't just take a baby away from its mother and she
didn't want to run away from every problem they faced. Jon reluctantly
agreed. When Jon saw the judge from Alan's attempt at gaining custody of
Sarah, it occurred to him that he could get his marriage to Lizzie annulled.
When Liz refused, Jon said she'd better agree to make it simple or he could
"do it the hard way."
At their meeting with the judge, Lizzie cried and attempted to plead her
case. In an act of desperation, she brought up the fact that Tammy and Jon
are cousins, claiming that everything about them is wrong. Jon admitted to
being a one-time bad boy when he first arrived in Springfield and explained
to the judge about how he met both Tammy and Lizzie (cue flashbacks: the
drugs, getting back at Reva, the fires) and said that Tammy saw something in
him that no one else could. "Fade in the violins!" Liz snarked. She was
just not believing his story. The judge deemed the whole situation far too
complicated for an immediate decision and said that they'd hear from him
later. After a dramatic montage of Tammy and Jon waiting around (Jon checked
his watch, Tammy lit a prayer candle and they hung out with Sarah), they met
up with Lizzie and the judge at Outskirts. Once the judge found out about
the carjacking and kidnapping that had occurred the day before, he decided
to sign the annulment paperwork and gave Jon temporary custody of Sarah
until the custody hearing was all sorted out.
With Sarah in their custody, Jon and Tammy marveled at her together and
admitted they loved spoiling her. When Jon received the final, signed
paperwork for the annulment, Tammy was overjoyed. Later while babysitting
Sydney, Jon said that Tammy had domesticated him; she didn't like idea of
that, but he said he loved the family stuff. Tammy concluded she could never
predict anything in their relationship but that things just kept getting
better. Then Jon proposed and of course Tammy said yes. They agreed to get
married immediately. Later, Tammy ran into Cassie on Main Street and was
elated to share the news about the annulment and now the marriage. She asked
her mom to come to the ceremony. The two shared a moment as they reminisced
about their relationship, the good and the bad.
At the end of the episode, Jon asked Billy to cover for him at the bar for a
few days because he was getting married to Tammy ... today! Surprised, Billy
suggested they not rush into things and that Jon should really consider
Tammy's "needs." Jon called Tammy and told him to meet her at the church.
Dressed in her wedding gown, Tammy approached the alter. Cassie told her
she'd take Jon's breath away. As Father Ray asked how things were, Jon said
he was bummed that Reva wasn't there. Tammy walked down the aisle and they both smiled.

Josh and Cassie had a drink together at Towers; Josh gave her a beautiful diamond bracelet for their three month anniversary. Cassie was shocked and didn't even realize they were celebrating. After thanking him, she immediately begged Josh to get in touch with Billy to let him know they were on their way to meet him. Josh didn't understand why she just couldn't take a few minutes to enjoy their special moment. Cassie basically admitted that she feared that they would jinx their own wonderful relationship, claiming "When things are this good, they're too good and that means there's only one place for them to go. Down, way down." Josh refused to believe it so he called a babysitter to take RJ for the night so that he could continue to woo Cassie and celebrate with a romantic night together in suite filled with candles. Just as they began to kiss, a fire alarm went off, quickly putting an end to their own passionate flame. An attendant barged into the room and sprayed a fire extinguisher all over them (and the candles). Later, they tried again.
At Cedars, Reva ran into Lillian. Reva admitted she really needed to come in for her 3 month check up, but she was there to visit her friend Cal. Lillian informed Reva that Cal's cancer had returned and the outlook wasn't good. Once she saw how bad off Cal really was, Reva told him he needed to buck up because people like him are supposed to live big. She asked him why he didn't tell her his cancer had returned. He said it was for the same reason she never told Josh. Then she said they should still keep their plan for a Vegas trip, despite his current condition because she believed he was going to get better. Cal told her about a woman named Julia who was "the one" in his life. Lillian entered to take Cal into surgery. He begged Reva to not wait for him. Later for Cal (and in an effort to prove she was still on top of her game), Reva called Billy and asked him to come out to dinner with her. As she got ready, she was shocked to discover a lump in her breast.
An increasingly deranged Lizzie sat in her car with Sarah in the backseat, talking about how betrayed she felt by Jonathan and Tammy. She told Sarah she wouldn't leave her in the car if it wasn't extremely important. Then she slammed the door on a sleeping Sarah and left her alone in the backseat while she left to have a chat with Father Ray at the church. Crying, Lizzie confided in Father Ray, saying she shouldn't feel sad around her own child and that if Sarah's father couldn't help her, maybe a "different kind of father" could. She begged him to make her feel better and he was grateful to be of assistance. When Father Ray asked her where Sarah was, she was unable to come up with a solid answer. Meanwhile, a reckless teen hot wired Liz's car, unaware that a baby was in the backseat. When someone interrupted to tell Liz that her car had been stolen; she panicked and admitted lying about where Sarah was.
After re-establishing their devotion to each other, Tammy and Jonathan canoodled in their room. Jon said he was grateful that Sarah was going to finally grow up with a sense of real love, then he called himself a loser for becoming one of those mushy guys who always talked about their family, babies and relationships. As Jon leaned on Tammy, he began sharing stories of his childhood and how awful it was having unstable parents. He vowed that Sarah would have a different childhood; one with happy memories and gifts for her birthdays and Christmas every year. Then he said that Tammy was the best gift he could ever give to Sarah. Later, they discussed their future and the possibility of moving into a house when Jon received a call from Liz telling him Sarah was missing.
Emotions ran high when Jon went to the church to confront Lizzie about what she had done. He angrily shook Liz and screamed at her for being so stupid, claiming that a normal person wouldn't even leave a dog alone in a locked car. Beth arrived to console Liz and an Amber Alert was issued. Later, Rick discovered the car and a relieved Jon grabbed Sarah away from Liz, who lost it and blamed Tammy for turning everyone against her. Jon told Liz he wanted custody of Sarah because Liz was obviously not fit to care for her.
