GL Recaps Week of May 8, 2006
Friday, May 12, 2006
Dinah surprised Alan-Michael, who was hiding out on the island of St. Gabriel, by beating him in the face with her bag. "It's just me saying hello," she snarked. Dinah told Alan-Michael that she was concerned their efforts to get back at Harley were losing momentum. Alan-Michael assured her that while he had to step back from Marina and the Spaulding rollercoaster, he still had big plans for Harley. Alan-Michael offered his condolences on Ross's death, and Dinah revealed that her father's accident wasn't so accidental. She pulled out Mallet's gun and held it on Alan-Michael. Alan-Michael pleaded innocence in the death and warned Dinah that if she murdered him, she would be back to where she had been after she killed Hart. Dinah countered that she wouldn't shoot Alan-Michael: His death would be an accident, like her father's. She pushed Alan-Michael until he was leaning out the hotel window.
Mallet, Gus and Harley boarded a plane for the island to find Dinah. Mallet revealed that Dinah had stolen his gun, and Harley reassured that they would locate her before anything bad happened. Mallet split from Harley and Gus to search for Dinah. Mallet left a string of messages for Dinah, and he eventually spotted her photo as part of a display of tourist pictures. Mallet bribed the photographer to give up Dinah's location and found Dinah in the hotel room with the gun. Mallet urged Dinah to tell him what had happened, but she wailed that once she did, nothing would be the same again. Meanwhile, Harley and Gus found Ross's island suite. Harley posed as Blake to gain entrance and, upon finding a business card, they contacted Nicole's life partner, who faxed them a photo. "I think I know why Ross died," gasped Harley.
At Company, Reva continued to lie to Josh about her condition, as she made phone calls about her radiation treatment. Mel and Rick bantered about exercise and painting their daughter Leah's room. Rick couldn't wait to be a full-time dad again, even if Leah was only scheduled to be home for the summer. By the way, for those of you who were wondering, Leah has gone from a baby to 14 year-old. Rick and Mel argued about the mayoral race and whether Lizzie was better off without her dad, before heading to Josh's reception.
Cassie and Billy were on hand for a fundraising lunch for the veterans' hospital. Billy didn't believe that Josh and Reva's reunion would last, but Cassie defended the couple. Josh and Reva arrived, and Reva swiftly excused herself, trying to cover that she was feeling ill. Reva grabbed a glass of champagne, but her party of one was spoiled by the arrival of Dr. McCabe. "Who invited the Grim Reaper?" she spat. The doc stole her champagne. Josh made his pitch for funding for the veteran's hospital. He beamed that he was happy that the whole family was there to celebrate (You know, except for any of their children or Tammy, or Rusty and Hawk or...). Cassie warned Billy that he was kidding himself if he thought he could get Reva back and warned that she wouldn't let anyone get in the way of Josh and Reva, even Billy. Reva used Dr. McCabe as an excuse to escape the function. Mel had to cancel her vacation with Rick to Beth and Alan's vow-renewal because of work.

After spending the morning in bed with Josh, Reva headed off to see Colin, and told him that she was ready to move forward with her treatment. He advised her to make an appointment for radiation.... In the meantime, Billy told Josh that there was a glitch in the hospital plans: The cabin at Cross Creek had to be torn down in order to build the hospital. Josh suggested that they move the Cross Creek cabin to Springfield on a truck. When Reva came home, he told her that he had a surprise in store for her. When he walked outside to take a call, she made an appointment to start radiation.
Lizzie complained to Rick about how crazy Alan was being. Beth told Lizzie that she had convinced Coop to get close to Lizzie in order to beat Alan. They laughed girlishly about summer wedding plans. Later, Beth wanted Alan to sign a post-nup, which pissed him off, but eventually he decided that they make an incredible couple and asked her to remarry him. She agreed, as long as he would sign the papers. They headed off to an island retreat for a proper wedding ceremony.... Rick called someone for news about Ross's plane.
Harley asked George to fuel the Spaulding jet. She told Gus that she didn't want to be the kind of person who chose a company over her good friend, especially because Dinah was being crazy and she was worried about her. "I just wish she would trust Mallet 100 percent," she said. "Why wouldn't she," Gus asked. Harley quickly covered her tracks, so she wouldn't have to confess her one night stand with Mallet.
Mallet asked Dinah how the spa was. She insisted that she was letting go of all her fears and anger and just relaxing. Gus and Harley stopped by to tell Mallet that Dinah was in trouble. Mallet didn't buy it, until Blake showed up and told them that Dinah had disappeared from the spa. Gus remembered that when he had found Dinah in Alan-Michael's room, that there were brochures for a Caribbean island. They tracked her down to an island, and then decided to follow her. Before they left, Mallet realized that his gun was missing.
On the island, Dinah smacked A-M across the face with her giant purse.

Buzz's Mother's Day picnic was a disaster, as almost everyone had to head to the hospital after eating his potato salad. Meanwhile, Reva also went to Cedars to pick up her medical files.
At the hospital, the late Jenna appeared next to Buzz's bed. Jenna told him that she missed him, and that their son was in trouble, but that she was there to help. Coop was struggling between his feelings for Ava, and doing right by Lizzie, who was scheming with Beth to win him back. Jenna appeared to him, and tried to comfort him, wondering if he felt an obligation to Lizzie. "It's not about what I want," he said, "It's about the kind of man I am." Later, they ended up in town to pick out an engagement ring. "I've always had a big affection for diamonds," quipped the former jewel thief, Jenna. In the meantime, Beth told Lizzie that Coop's "A good guy, and that's exactly what we're going to use to rope him in." Coop pondered what to do with the ring he'd bought. He offered to walk Lizzie home, planning to propose, but he couldn't go through with it. Instead he wished her a Happy Mother's Day. Later, he watched Ava say good-bye to the cop she had gone out with. Jenna studied her son and whispered: "When will you know the truth? Soon enough."
Nadine appeared to Harley, and told her that she was proud of her for running Spaulding. However, she pointed out all the negative influences that money and power had, like Harley threatening the photographer the day before, or being a bad friend to Dinah. Harley realized that "I've turned into Alan Spaulding with blonde hair and boobs," and that she's been letting her family and friends down. Nadine urged her to make things right, so they headed to Company, where she phoned Gus. Harley suggested he grab Mallet and said that she would fuel up the Spaulding jet because they needed to help Dinah.
Jenna and Nadine studied their children. "I think that my Coop is far too decent for his own good," Jenna observed. "Of course he is," Nadine replied, "He has my Buzz's heart." The two spirits headed inside Company, and watched Frank look jealous as he saw Buzz, Emma and Olivia dining together. Jenna thought that Olivia didn't belong to either man, while Nadine liked Liv with Buzz. Nadine thought both men would sort their issues out, and then blew them a kiss.
Sarah Shayne confronted Reva about hiding her cancer. "Running away is not the answer," she said, seriously, "I'm here to give you a swift kick in the britches." Sarah said that Reva was being silly and stubborn, but Reva didn't want to spend the rest of her life undergoing tests. She wanted to live an obstacle-free life with Josh, but then she cried on her late mother's shoulder, admitted that she was scared. Sarah insisted that Reva "stop running and start fighting."
As she was leaving the hospital, Sarah appeared to Cassie and apologized for missing out on her life. She urged Cassie to let go of both Jeffrey and Tammy. Cassie asked who her father was. "You'll know when the time is right," Sarah told her. Cassie then went to Reva's house, and without confessing that they'd seen a ghost, the sisters understood that Sarah was with them. "She's one tough cookie," Reva laughed. "But she's so warm," Cassie marveled. They hugged, both saying that their doubt and fears had been washed away.
Jenna, Sarah and Nadine met back up on Main Street, revealing that they had added castor oil to the potato salad, and said "A mother's work is never done" before disappearing... for now!

Dinah played nice with Mallet, enjoying a romantic evening, but she managed to place a call to Blake, telling her how angry she was at losing Ross. She pretended to go out and pick up mixers to make drinks with, and when she left, Blake arrived, and demanded that Mallet tell her what was happening with the investigation into Ross's death. Mallet asked her to back off.
Eddie Gibson, the creepy photographer who worked for Alan-Michael, tried to blackmail Harley and Gus with the photos of Gus detoxing. Harley threatened him, and Gibson pretended to cave, but when he left the room, he called A-M and told him that he definitely rattled the pair.... Dinah found Harley and begged her to use Spaulding resources to investigate Ross's death. Harley refused; Dinah stormed out, back to her place where Blake was still with Mallet. Blake suggested the two of them go to a spa in Chicago to relax. Dinah went to pack her bags.
At the clinic, Lizzie admitted to Jonathan that she had been so low when she learned she was pregnant that she went to an abortion clinic, but didn't go through with an abortion. She also assured him that the baby was Coop's, not his. He was really relieved to know that the baby isn't his, and then apologized for coming down so hard on her.
Coop, meanwhile, consulted a lawyer about visitation rights, and the papers that Alan had sent him. The person hung up after learning that Lizzie is the mother. Ava offered to help Coop out.... Beth suggested that Coop take Alan on, and beat him. She advised that Coop and Lizzie get back together, to give him a better shot at being with his baby. Meanwhile, a cop hit on Ava and slipped her his card. Coop encouraged her to take chances, because he couldn't give her what she deserved. Lizzie spotted them hugging through the window, and called someone, demanding the person come up with something better on Ava to get her out of Coop's life. Ava took off in tears.
Tammy brought Ashlee back to Outskirts to sober up. She tried to let Ash down easy, admitting that Nate was really Jonathan, her boyfriend. "I thought you said you guys are cousins," Ash said. "We are," Tammy replied. "Ew," Ash retorted in the best line and delivery of the episode. Before she left, Ashlee insinuated that Jonathan seemed very interested in Lizzie.... Jonathan came back later, and Tams told him what Ash had said about him and Lizzie. He told her that he hinted to Ash that he and Lizzie were dating, so she wouldn't get attached to him. He cleverly claimed that he didn't mention her name, because he never wanted to play games with Tammy.

Tammy annoyed Cassie by setting her up on a blind date with her professor, Evan Morgan. Cassie agreed to have dinner at first, but then freaked out about her tendency to jump headfirst into relationships, so she left.
At Company, Rick congratulated Coop on being a daddy-to-be. Coop asked him about sharing custody of Jude with Harley. Rick admitted that he missed out on a lot, but that he and Harley did their best to make things work. Ava showed up, and even though it was her day off, offered to help out when the diner got crowded. Alan's lawyer arrived and presented Coop with visitation papers for the baby. Coop later went home and angrily kicked a chair in his room, while Ava listened to his fury from inside her own room.
Mel and Colin met up with Rick. Mel was cranky that Rick rented out their garage apartment to Colin, a guy they barely know. Josh and Reva arrived. Colin and Reva pretended not to know each other, while Josh filled Mel and Rick in on his hospital plans. Later, Mel and Rick left to take Jude to Harley's and Josh walked them outside to finish talking, leaving Reva and Colin alone. She thanked him for keeping their secret, while he chided her for not being responsible for her treatment.
At the Main Street prom, Ashlee told "Nate" (really Jonathan) that Lizzie never had an appointment at the clinic. Then she begged him to take a picture with her. He agreed, and then pulled out a flask for them to drink from. Lizzie spotted Jonathan at the prom with Ashlee, and secretly pulled Ash aside to warn her against Jonathan. A tipsy Ash didn't buy Lizzie's warnings, so Lizzie pointed Jonathan out to a teacher, telling Mr. Lord that Jon was trouble. Jon spiked Ashlee's punch, then when she finished talking to Lizzie, gave her a kiss, and the punch.
Mr. Lord called Tammy as a courtesy and reported that Jonathan was at the prom, and that he would call the police if she didn't come get him.... Tammy cut in on Ash and Jonathan's dance. Jon claimed that he saw Ashlee at the mall, being mocked by mean girls for not having a prom date, so he stepped in to take her. He also said that Ash had been buzzed at the mall, so he wanted to take care of her. Ashlee came over, and asked if Tammy was "Nate's" girlfriend, Tammy said they were cousins (the smirk on Jonathan's face was a little gross), and that the Beacon was trying to track down Jonathan, because he was a night security officer there. Later, Tammy found Ashlee passed out at her table, alone, and helped her home.
Lizzie snuck into the clinic and started going through files. Alan caught her, and said that she'd be better off without Coop in her life. When he left, Lizzie found a file, and was about to shred it when Jonathan walked in.
